We had lunch for Mother’s Day as you could imagine it was very busy. But the staff were wonderful and the food was spot on. We will definitely be returning.
was here on the weekend and let me just just say the atmosphere is amazing we only waited 20 mins for our fresh seafood platter definitely worth it as we understand good quality fresh food isnt served in 10-15mins..definitely reccomending to others and coming back again.
Perfect Start to my Day. The clock ticked 9.30am and I arrived for my late breakfast. I ordered my late and eggs on toast and went and sat on the sunny deck overlooking the Marina. Stunning day helped my mood perhaps. I was just so relaxed and felt lucky to be alive! Coffee was amazing, two poached eggs on a piece of toast was perfect. And I probably waited 4 minutes for my coffee and 10 minutes for my food. No complaints today. Perhaps if the weather was ordinary, I wouldn't have been in such a wonderful mood.
Good food in a great location. I used to have a rule that says "don't eat in a place that moves or has a view" but there are always exceptions to prove the rule. We went here yesterday for lunch with friends. I had lamb souvlaki and She had pork loin chop on mashed sweet potato. We swapped tastes and I can say both meals were great, not pretentious but just good food cooked and flavoured well, and in a great spot with heaps of atmosphere. I used to have a friend who moored here are there is always something happening around the marina, and in cafe la mer you are perched on the edge and watching it all go by while you eat and chat.
The service was merely average. Ordering is at the counter and help yourself to water and cutlery. Of course none of this was explained so we sat waiting and wondering why we weren't offered any water. Eventually we were given menus, which included some delicious options. The food was excellent and a little different to the norm. I wasn't sure about the chili jam on my breakfast haloumi bruschetta and would have preferred a sweet onion relish or similar but that is personal taste and it was still delicious. Fantastic coffee too.
Love the breakfasts here, never disappoints. I really appreciate that the menu offers heaps of innovative food choices, so it's not same old same old that you would make at home. The outdoor dining area is nice and the soup bowl sized coffee option is amazing after a big night.. Our fav breakfast venue in the manly wynnum area!
I have lost count of how many times we come here for breakfast. It is such a lovely setting looking over the bay. Make sure you get there somewhat early as it does get busy! Always generous servings, simple bacon and eggs, can never go wrong!! Little touches like the rocket leaves make it that bit nicer. Service can be a little slow but they do get pretty busy and you can't complain with that setting! Haven't tried lunch menu as we looked once and nothing really jumped out at us. Will continue to pop in for breakfast!
There is no question that the location is great and so is the food. That said, there is much that would improve this cafe. The deck has views over the marina and tables are rebooked every 90 minutes so forget any plans to linger over a second drink or coffee.
The courtyard is dingy and unwelcoming and doesn't give a very favourable first impression which is such a pity. Food is delicious, well cooked cans well presented. Coffee is good- wasn't very hot and came after the good arrived. Breakfast served til 11.30 - very nice spot to spend 90 minutes on a winter weekend .
Fantastic place, beautiful views on the water under new management good value for money lovely staff best food in manly definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to feed the fish lots of fun
Everyone needs to go to Cafe la Mer and try an Antioxidant Power Salad. Sometimes, I take myself out to lunch here just to get this goodness into me! It's divine - an incredible pile of leafy greens, tomato, carrot, Beetroot, nuts, seeds, berries and tangy dressing.
The best for breakfast and lunch in Manly. The view out the back is a bonus.
Hottest seat in town. One piece of advice, make a booking. Breakfast and lunch under the fig tree overlooking the boats. Don't get much better on a sunny day. Location is so nice you almost forget about the food. Which is OK. I wonder why they dont open for dinner!
Cafe La Mer. Visited La Mer on a sunny Friday for lunch. It was very busy, but the service was quick, and the time waiting for food to arrive was minimal. I chose a quick lunch from the cabinet, it was a very fresh and delicious roast frittata with a lovely side of Greek salad. My companion had mushroom quiche with pasta salad and enjoyed that also. The coffee was good and hot :) Some gluten free foods available. Will definitely be going back to try some of the wonderful looking desserts. All this in a lovely waterfront setting.
