We came here for lunch Monday just gone and it was a pleasant experience. The food was good and staff were friendly. Nice open atmosphere, about a 15 min wait on food. Tables were a little bit small when seating 4 adults, and when sharing tapas it go abit messy. Otherwise, pricing and everything else was fine. Definitely recommend the chicken paella, delicious!!

They do a lot of nice dishes that you can share. The potatoes were really delicious and the Ham dish was really nice to. Nothing was to much trouble as one of our party was allergic to a few foods.

Drinks are affordable and different. Great ambience. Nice outdoor seating area, felt very chill. Staff were friendly. I will come back to try food and more cocktails!

Great food, attentive staff and beautiful atmosphere. A welcome addition to the dining scene at Chermside.
Tapas menu was great, with decent variety and pricing, and there looks to be a number of good nightly specials.
The drink and cocktail menu was also varied and priced well.
We will be back!

A bit divided on this place. I personally had Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Sourdough and Hash Brown. The Scrambled Eggs tasted like rubber and had no creamy texture at all. The 'Bacon' was more like warm, slimy ham. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't that bad but could have been miles better. The waitress we had managed to remember our entire group order without writing it down but we later saw her feeling up what we could only presume was her boyfriend in the kitchen area. Not on when you are working IMO.

We ordered pork croquettes for entree. It was generous servings and delicious. Service was quick. Great atmosphere. For mains we had seafood paella and roast lamb.

The food is well presented just like the restaurant however does lack an little in flavour in some dishes. We ordered their croquettes of the day and were told a totally different filling that what we got and while they were the best of what we ordered I would have selected a different dish of I'd have been told. Worth a look, but not sure I'll be rushing back.

I took Mum and Dad to Hermosa. Dad and I shared a seafood platter with a Moreton Bay bug, clams, mussels, prawns, squid, and a delicious fennel salad. Mum had salmon and celeriac remoulade.
The staff were really friendly and cheerful. The mood of the restaurant was comfortable and inviting.
The seafood platter was a really good. I really enjoyed how the fennel salad went with everything. The Moreton Bay bug was a little light on but there were ample clams, mussels and squid. I liked the prawns on skewers because they were well fried and I could eat the entire prawn including the head and tail which were really crunchy and full of flavour.
Mum's dish came with really nice crispy potatoes too.
We're planning to return.

Really underwhelming. Seafood paella was completely lacking in flavour and seafood. Needed a microscope to find the mussels, clams and calamari. Six prawn heads and three sadly starved prawn bodies. Not even a hint of saffron. Service was below average. Really, don't waste your hard earned.

Update Sept 2019 - the place has closed down. No surprises! Good riddance.

Lovely place to enjoy tapas and cocktails! Awesome atmosphere, friendly, prompt service and delicious food.
I tried one of their watermelon sangrias which was delicious so do yourself a favour and get yourself one of these.
You can’t go passed their churros. They are probably the most delicious churros I have ever had. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside just like you would imagine.
The pricing is quite good and definitely value for money.
Will happily be back to sample more of Hermosa’s menu.
A good middle of the road place to have breakfast. Coffee is ok, food is good quality. Service is ok. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad either. Middle of the road.

This place makes me so happy. It’s a great place to have a wine or beer a few tapas and watch time drift by. You won’t be disappointed with the food either. The empanadas are on point as well as the croquettes. Oh and did I mention the Paella balls a great twist on the classic Arancini balls

I would also just like to mention the staff and thank them for giving us a great night.

Definitely coming back.

Great atmosphere looking out over the landscaped tropical garden. Great service, excellent food at reasonable price. I had the half chicken with root vegetables and was great for only around $20!! I’ll come back when in the area!
Food
seafood paella was nice and fresh and was cooked to perfection. it was sadly a bit salty that let us down a bit.

waiting staff were friendly too.

We had a lovely evening here for our anniversary last night! The staff were lovely and very attentive. The decor was cool and there was a really great vibe. We would definitely recommend the white sangria and the lamb shoulder and roast veg was AMAZING! We’ll be back for sure!

Breakfast menu is quite lacklustre as are the meals themselved. The haloumi I had was cut too thin and so was overly rubbery. The brioche was soggy and did not support the toppings. Hopefully they do a better dinner

Great spot to perch yourself at the bar with a sangria while the kids have a run around in the playground out front. The cocktails won't bankrupt you either with a glass of sangria setting you back $9 and a bunch of other options priced under $20.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a group of 8. It was a Tuesday night, so fairly quiet. It didn’t start great when we were told we didn’t have a booking (which had been confirmed earlier that day...) but the hostess happily showed us to a table. Being a new restaurant, it is modern and cosy without sitting on top of the other diners.

We ordered several tapas as an entree, and they were on the underwhelming side. Everything was a little bland, under seasoned and soft. The mains however were absolutely delicious, we all enjoyed the chicken and chorizo paella, and the chicken and lamb main dishes. Stand out for me was the chicken and it’s brandy-based sauce - yum.

Service was a miss, they waiters seemed disinterested and inattentive, and we had to ask for simple things like more water and to place our orders. After the first round of drinks, we weren’t asked again so they missed an opportunity there.

Overall I guess I’m satisfied, I’d like to see them lift their service game and refine their tapas a bit more.

When being seated we asked to sit outside, but were told there were no available seats. We sat inside, and then watched the next few people who walked up be seated outside in the exact pace that was “not available”. Service was ok, but had to flag down a waiter to order as everyone just walked past. Ordered tapas to share, no other way to describe everything other than bland. It seemed like every meal was missing something. Seasoning, what’s that?
The drinks were nice, but you don’t go to a restaurant for the drinks. Wouldn’t recommend.

Overall, a nice meal! We ordered the chicken & chorizo paella, and the pork belly. Portion sizes were much bigger than anticipated! Service was pretty quick and very friendly.

Great food and takes you back to spain and nice looking restaurant but slow service and very loud music when sitting against the wall. The outside live music ontop of the inside cd playing is to much. We could hardly hear each other and having tables so close to each other along the wall has everyone yelling at each other. Overall good but needs to fix the ambience that sets at good dining experience.

In one word: terrible.
Calamari was served on a copious amount of mayonnaise, patatas bravas had nothing Spanish about them. The sauce was microwaved Doritos dipping sauce.
Paella (chicken and chorizo) came without the chorizo at first. Sent it back, and second came back a fairly long time later. Again, nothing traditional about the paella: cherry tomatoes, brocoli and snow peas were aplenty.
Service was nice enough and drinks were good, although had to chase them as the bar seemed too busy to cope.
Do not recommend and will not return.

Very disappointing. Ordered 3 tapas and a main spanner crab to share. Meatballs were microwaved and not for long enough leaving a furry feeling in the top of our mouths. Spanner crab tasted liked canned crab meat and was accompanied with leathery skinny eggplants and mixed in with every green leafed herb in season including mint - very odd and very small plate of food. Arranchini balls were ok but again microwaved but not for long enough and were cold. Swordfish was ok but accompanied with what looked/tasted like chunky cashew and pumpkin dip from the supermarket which ruined the whole plate. Overall, extremely disappointed with our meals. With so much competition around it I'd recommend giving this place a miss

Best part of the meals were the drinks. Ordered pealla bombas which sounded delicious...bland. Empanadas...bland and the spinach and ricotta gnudi...bland. My wife's spaghetti made for our children has more flavour. Reasonable service and food was served quickly but I wouldn't bother coming back, seems like none of the food was seasoned!!

Had a delicious lunch with a friend.
After sitting down and given water we waited half an hour to place orders and had to actually ask our waitress if we could order (there was only 4 or so other tables taken). But the 4 tapas came out extremely quick. The calamari was amazing, and croquettes delicious.
All in all a lovely dining experience.
