Great food, relaxed atmosphere and the girl who served me was lovely and very helpful.
My favourite was the mushroom pizza, and the little zucchini entre things were really yummy!
As a small group we especially came to Sorellina for lunch after reading many positive online reviews. We went for the pizza and found them to be great tasting, with flavour and the ideal thin crust. 1 pizza will serve one adult person. Although the pizza was tasty something seemed missing to complete our experience here, the price tag probably would exclude this from regular visits.
Got the Mushroom and salami pizzas takeaway. Very quick service and the pizza arrived home piping hot. My favourite was the mushroom one. The porcini ragú was spot on and complemented the juicy mushrooms. The salami one wasn't anything special. I've had better ones. Both pizzas were cooked perfectly, the base crisp all the way through but not overcooked. Will be coming back for the mushroom one!
Pizza's were great, the bases had the right amount of thickness and that wood fired flavour. Topping combinations were also good and prices were reasonable. We'll eat there again.
We had take away pizza on a Wednesday night and it was delicious. The base was perfectly cooked and the rocket salad was actually larger than I expected. The only problem I had was that it is expensive. It's the nicest woodfired pizza near us that's open for dinner so we might come back.
Hands-down the best Italian style pizza in Brisbane. Excellent chewy thin crust topped with well balanced, interesting flavors, cooked up in a wood-fired oven.
The only ping I can make is the really long wait times and a bit of a service-wibble. You'll be told all sorts of things for how long your pizza will take, and usually it'll be wrong. Occasionally you'll wait for 30 minutes while your pizza sits congealing on the counter, because they've not realized it's yours.
This place is one of our go-to places for a quick, relaxed but delicious dinner date! The pizzas are super fresh and made with the best ingredients - pork sausage with mushroom is a personal fave! The beverage selection is great too. Only slight downer is the service is a little slow sometimes if you're sitting outside. But will continue to visit as long as pizza stays top notch!
I love pizza, any way I can get it! So I had to go to Sorellina, rumoured to be one of the best pizzerias in Brisbane! It frequently tops the charts in bloggers lists, Zomato round ups and my friend's recommendations, so off I go!. Parking is horrific here. Sorellina is located in the antiques district of Woolloongabba along Logan road, right near the Gabba stadium. I don't think I've ever gotten a park in that one way street hell. I recommend parking on Jurgens Street and legging it in.
The crust is incredible. So much flavour and seasoning! The texture is as addicting; it has that perfect crunchy wood-fire crust with just the right amount of chew. Toppings are laid out generously and well thought out.
My personal favourite is the kale pizza with hot salami toppings. I know it sounds terrible on paper but give it a go. You won't regret it! It's robust and (especially if you like anchovies) packed full with umami.
If you're in the area give it a go :) it definitely won't disappoint.
We reckon Sorellina has the best Pizza in Brisbane, yeah big call!! The bases were ammmmmazing and the toppings are full of flavour. The are also the best value for money "fancy" (not dominos) Pizzas in Brisbane.
Visited this local gem as part of a foodie event and can say it impressed the hell out of me! The Eggplant Pizza to me was the highlight. Staff were lovely and pizza was perfect and not too overbearing. Loved it!
Family night at Sorellina. Great service, five different pizzas, all great. Two different red wines from limited wine list, no problem both were good. This was our second time and the place seems to be improving. Well done.
Very good food and perhaps one of the best pizzas in Brisbane. Very similar to Alfredo's in the valley. Service could've been a bit better. Enjoy finding a park.
Edit: A few years later I’ve been back, and had a great experience and lovely food. Happy to change my mind :)
.............
Pizza was quite good, but probably not good enough for the price/level of service. It was the service that was the real issue. It was barely there after our initial order, had we actually been asked we would have ordered more pizza and drinks. Instead we had multiple servers hastily clear some of our dishes and almost run away. We left feeling like they couldn't wait to get us out of there. It's a shame because I like the venue, and like what they're trying to do, it was just a bit of a negative experience that means I won't be hurrying back. Maybe it was out of character, and I have my fingers crossed that other people's experiences change my mind down the track.
Best pizza in Brisbane hands down! Consistently delivers on perfectly cooked chewy dough and toppings are minimal and delicious. Have tried a few others around the place claiming this type of authenticity but come back to Sorellina every time.
Fabulous pizza, the best I've had outside of Italy! The rosemary potato and pancetta is to die for!! Pizzas are always ready to be picked up, very rare these days, so over being left to wait for 30 minutes beyond the pick up time. Happy, friendly staff who excel in customer service. What's not to love! Am so glad someone recommended this place :-)
6 of us really enjoyed the amazing pizza tastes here. Favourite was the mushroom but all were good - the thin but not paperthin bases really help to. The olives to start were amazing and the chicken wings excellent. The crowning glory though are the wine carafes. Top quality personally sourced Italian red was sensational.
Light, crispy, delightful pizza dough with honest toppings - nothing too garish or pretentious. Great little local with a fresh vibe. Love it!
Great pizza if you like simple pizza with a thin base. The dough balls are amazing and the cookies are delicious. Service is always quick and efficient.
Best pizza in Brisbane without doubt. If you like authentic Naples style pizza, go here. The chilli salami is damn fine. Prompt and friendly service is an added bonus.
Great service, awesome pizza veganised by the helpful staff, great vibe and good Italian wine by the glass, will definitely be back
Best Pizza in Brisbane. Brisbane was hanging out for a decent pizza place and it is here. After many frustrating returns from Melbourne I could never find pizza as good anywhere. Then Sorellina opened up, very simple toppings with a sauce that is to die for and top quality cheese. The prosciutto, smoked mozzarella and rocket is my favourite pizza on the menu.
Pricey but worth it. Tastes like proper Italian pizza. Delicious hand made bases with a limited but interesting range of toppings and a changing menu. Loud atmosphere but prompt friendly service. Would love to see them bring back the zucchinni/ricotta/chilli pizza!
Authentic delicious pizzas , upbeat Art Deco vibes and great drinks list. This place is buzzing !!! The pizza is AUTHENTIC ITALIAN style pizza ... FYI if you want greasy thick complex toppings then go to dominoes or Pizza Hut.
This pizza is thin, wood girded and crispy on the outside , soft and oozy in the middle - exactly the way a pizza tastes in Italy. The vibe of the restaurant may not be to everyones taste so don't go if you want fine , ritzy dining or enjoy silence. This place is ALIVE and BUZZING! Loved the Art Deco style - stark walls with minimalist planter boxes and only piece of art the fluro ninja turtles painting above the counter! When a place is this minimalistic all focus is on the food and it doesn't disappoint ! Will return ASAP!!
Delicious Take-Away. The pizzas were just being placed in the boxes as I arrived to collect them, perfect timing.
Basic selection of toppings that all work well together.
Excellent pizza bases. Reasonably priced.
Delicious...I'll be back. Who doesn't love a loyalty card, buy 5 get the 6th free :)
Was here on a Sunday night with 2friends and we were after a relaxed meal and a catch up , we were definitely given that , the staff were very easy going and attentive , they gave us time to choose our food and didn't feel like we were being rushed out the door like many restaurants do . The pizzas were fantastic !! Very traditional Italian , not stodgy or over crowded with toppings like the big chains . I could tell the ingredients were very high quality with the taste ! Will definitely visit again !!
Whenever I think of pizzas I think heavy, oily, nasty etc. Since trying Sorellina's pizzas I won't think about pizzas that way anymore! Thanks for making pizzas enjoyable to eat again! You guys are now my go to for pizza. Love the paper thin bases and simple classic toppings. As they say less is more!
Best margherita in Brisbane. Authentic Napolitan style - almost as if it came straight out of the oven at Da Michele! The edge of the base could be just a little less chewy for my taste but otherwise delightful.
Best Pizza in Brisbane. I tried the pizza last night here and BY FAR it is the best pizza in Brisbane! Compliments to the chef, because it is firstly made just like it is in Italy and secondly all high quality ingredients are used - such as San Danielle prosciutto. Finally there is a place in Brisbane with good pizza. I hope you guys do very very well.
Also, to all the people who say it is overpriced - what are you people expecting? The world for free! You pay for quality and this is quality. And the people who said they don't like the pizza - you people don't understand food!
My partner and I went for dinner. We had the mushroom, mozzarella and parmesan pizza and the rocket, pecorino and roast grape salad. Between the two of us we had more than our fill and the pizza itself was wonderfully cooked and full of flavour. The salad was a perfect accompaniment and surprisingly large. Will definitely go again!
Great pizzas and outstanding service. Quite expensive, no bang for your buck!
Awesome. I have been to Sorellina several times since it has opened and have never been disappointed. The pizza is authentic and delicious. The food is fantastically simple and the price reasonable considering the quality of ingredients used (a difference that can easily be tasted). The appetizers and desserts are fantastic too, as is the service. I will definitely be showing my face there again.
Maybe I do like Pizza?. I generally don't like Pizza, but I was taken out to Sorellina the other night and I discovered maybe I just don't like Dominos. The food here was delicious. We had a hot salami and an anchovy pizza and they were so tasty. There was a beetroot salad special with cured pork and quinoa that so unique and fresh. Above all that the music was so fun, the vibe was relaxed, the service was exceptional. The two young men that were serving the entire (busy) restaurant didn't miss a beat.
The only thing I was left longing for was a tiramisu which wasn't on the menu, but I can get one of those anywhere.
I'll be back, with friends.
Sorellina is the newest of Brisbane's italian restaurants and it may be the new best.
The menu reads like a back street pizza joint in Florence with only two or three ingredients to a pizza. The results are delicious! The pizza bases are light, the flavours are strong and well matched, and every bite is a delight. I was dubious to try the mushroom pizza and the zucchini pizza, thinking they'd be boring, and they're now my favourites.
Salads and starters are delicious. The grape and rocket with almonds and pecorino is as interesting as salads can get and the terrine is amazing - full flavoured.
And then there desserts. No disappointing old tiramisu or gelati! The wood fired cookies are amaaaaaaaazing and the chocolate mousse is creamy and just devine.
Overall this a great place to eat. It feels young and fun, the service is great and the food fantastic. The perfect place to eat and share with friends.
We really enjoyed Sorellina. The pizzas were great (we are always on the search for authentic pizzas in Brisbane) the wine list was good, the atmosphere was relaxed in a casual setting. The staff were really friendly and Aperol Spritz was delicious! The only thing we thought wasn't right are the prices. I love going out for dinner and don't mind spending money on good food however $24 for a margherita pizza is too much. The wine and beers are over priced also. For a Tallie of Victoria Bitter is $11. The prices don't reflect the casual authentic Neapolitan style setting, and are more suited to a fine dining Italian restaurant. When we were served our pizza the waiter explained how to eat our pizza which felt a little patronising. We did enjoy it though and will probably go again for a good pizza!
Great Start, but where is the corn??. Dont get me wrong I love this place. That wine list pretty spot on for a casual pizza joint. I mean dat skin contact Radikon woooo-eeee. Leave the sauv blanc for my mums and her desperate housewives. The appetizers are great!, pork terrine with pickled peach, delish! Octopus dish AMAZING! However it all gets let down by lack of authenticity, WHERE IS THE CORN? Have the owners never been to Naples? All most all of the pizzas there are smothered with a generous coating of tinned yellow corn. What gives? Fix this and you will be making bank.
The pizza menu at Sorellina is quite simple with five white base variations and five tomato based pizzas, with each of the pizzas keeping to fairly traditional toppings. There are also some interesting looking starters and a couple of desserts but we largely ignored these for our first visit, we were there for pizza.
The menu consists of a short range of appetisers, some salads, and then white based and tomato based pizzas. This time around, we had the Rocket, roasted grapes, pecorino and fried almond salad. This looked pretty basic when it came out, but wow, I could not stop eating it, it was delicious. The grapes were rich and sweet and the almonds provided a nice crunch.
We had a great meal at Sorellina. I liked everything I ate and found the service to be efficient too. This is a great spot for pizza and drinks.
Have you ever had pizza that lulls you to surrender? Think thin crust just right. Cheese just right? Herbs making you float in green heaven? This place is honest cooking at its finest. Beautiful wooden furnitures and minimalist aesthetic. Might not enjoy the teenage mutant ninja turtle mural but I understand the connection. The staff are lovely and there is good space to have that first date with someone special. :)
If you want the real deal and I mean legit Italian pizza you have to go here. Absolutely devine flavor and composition. 3rd time here and never dissapointed. Finger licking good
Without equal the pizza had that to die for wood fire smokey taste. So many flavours and a great location. Best in Bris possibly the whole of oz. not enough stars for this place.
Ordered via Uber Eats and could not have had a better customer experience from whoa to go! Once Alisha clarified our order via phone, I received SMS updates on the progress until our pizzas arrived. The only thing that bettered the customer experience was the taste of these amazing pizzas! Cannot wait to dine in...
Really good GF pizza! Great service and nice atmosphere.I will be back really soon!
You can see by some of my other reviews that I don't necessarily give praise lightly or shy away from criticism. But this was, hands down, the best pizza of my life.
And I'm not just saying that as a random punter - I worked in an independent pizza kitchen through high school, I'm the kind of person that buys and reads books about pizza, and have gone on to run pizza kitchens independently myself for events - and have even made some other people "the best pizza of their lives"...although I think their standards were much lower!
I had the mushroom pizza and wow. Everything about it was perfect. But the dough was my favourite part...somehow chewy and melted in your mouth at the same time. I enjoyed eating the crust as much as I've enjoyed entire pizzas at other places.
Just had a great experience at Sorellina. We ordered tonight because we love the amazingly gooey rich flavor they get from the wood fire oven, but that hardly compares to the service I got from the staff. I was welcomed with smiles all round and to be sure the pizza did not disappoint.
Can’t wait for next Friday night.
Thanks Alisha!
Myself and my family visited this venue the first time on Saturday night..... it was a relatively busy night, the wait staff were awesome and were highly attentive, friendly and talkative to ours and everyone elses tables. The pizzas were all delicious and reasonably priced :)
It was such a great atmosphere that when we finished our dinner we stayed for an hour.
I will definitely be coming back!
Thanks guys!
