Genovese coffee served here, mine was a tad burnt so couldn't finish it. Loved the corn fritters though which came in a stack of two with salsa & avocado. Large portion so I was really full. Partners baked eggs were also a hit. Lovely rich tomato & cheese sauce
On recommendation of my brother, we were catching up and he suggested we go here. So glad we did.
Staff are friendly, street parking. Located in a inner city suburb of Heston, nice little hidden gem. Homely feel to this place and very inviting.
You grab a menu off the counter, order and pay. So after a quick look at the menu, we ordered fritters Italian baked eggs, bruschetta and smashed avo.
My latte was good, nice coffee taste and right temperature. Nothing beats a good coffee on a Sunday.
I noticed that, other customers food was being served before us, we ordered before them and we waited a while for our meals. We had finished our drinks before our meals arrived, but what arrived we were all happy with.
The quality of food made up for the wait. We will be back no doubt.
Explored this café last Sunday morning. it is always good to be early bird so I got the parking spot just in front of the café. Stepped in and was greeted by the passionate staff. I approached the counter and ordered my flat white and noticed that their daily special including the Thai Chicken Noodle Salad so gave it a go. After I took a seat at indoor area, one of the staff came to ask me if I would like to have the dish serving in cold or warm. Well, I appreciate this attitude and told the girl that I preferred to serve in warm. There is always no problem with the Genovese brew giving the fact that the barista had done a good job. Savoury dish came in within 5 minutes and it looked gorgeous. I appreciated the chef used chicken thigh, which made the meat texture with reasonable chewing effect. However, some of the noodle were slightly undercooked and the sauce was slightly too much peanut flavour for authentic satay taste. Overall, it was a decent experience.
Wonderful staff, excellent food and nice atmosphere. In a nice quiet area so there's lots of parking. Definitely want to come back again to this little gem!
My partner and I love this place and so does our dog!
The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They make a real effort to accomodate an oversized group and ensure coffee is at your table within minutes.
The food is delicious and portions are generous - especially if you like bacon.
The specials are always worth a try. The chef is creative and the quality is consistent.
Cafe Gia is our first choice for coffee + brunch.
Love this local cafe ... The staff ... The coffee... The food ... All sensational. My picks are the meatball sub 😍😍 and the best corn fritters in Brisbane !!
Been meaning to write a review to let other foodies know about the meatball sandwich. Quite simply the tastiest and most delicious meatballs I have ever had. Lovely, friendly, family run business. You can taste the love in everything they make from the coffee, breakfast or dessert! Can't wait to visit again - see you soon 😄
I have never had an experience like Carmen has noted. I don't normally write reviews but wanted to in this case. I have been to Cafe Gia a lot. I love the food, love the service and staff. Always consistently great! I love their meatballs so much I asked if I could buy some to take home - which I did!!! From their coffee to Cannoli to great breakfasts....I never know what to get. Too hard to choose and I always leave buying stuff to "have later" (code for eat in car on way home). Do yourself a favour- if you haven't been to Cafe Gia yet then get there quick!!!
Finally made it to our new local. The coffee was amazing as was the food. Excellent menu with an Italian twist. I highly recommend this cafe and will definitely be back again.
Just stopped by for coffee at this new business but it had friendly staff and a good familial vibe. The giant cappuccino for under $5 with grated chocolate and a little piece of shortbread were that x factor. It's nearby and an easy return visit. Would recommend.
Great local cafe with really nice atmosphere! The food is tasty and the serving size is good. Wish there's more menu options though. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. Note that the kitchen closes 30 mins before closing time, so plan accordingly if you're after the cooked food 😊
I've been coming here since it first opened and I lived around the corner! The food is lovely, they also do lots of gorgeous homemade goods like Portuguese tarts. The corn fritters are a favourite. Coffee is great - and strong, and they have giant cups if you need one. The staff have always been wonderful. Very family and dog friendly too.
Great little cafe to stop and have a bite to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend this amazing little cafe. The staff are friendly and patient. It has an amazing little atmosphere. Saw it while driving to get lunch and decide to stop and give it a try. They have a wide range of food choices which all sounded wonderful, however I decided on trying “Nonna’s Italian Meatballs” which was absolutely delicious and serving size was enough to fill me up. I also tried their passionfruit Slice which was equally as delicious as the Meatballs. For drinks I tried a Chocolate Milkshake cause you can never go wrong with a milkshake and it was perfect. No other word but perfect, I ended up getting a second drink which was the Banana Espresso Smoothie and it was absolutely delicious.
100% would recommend coming here whether it be breakfast, lunch or a coffee date with a friend or family. I have no complaints at all and will definitely stop by in the future
♥️👍
I was here for lunch with a friend. We had exceptional and personalised service, which was great considering it was my first visit. The food tasted amazing and was very quick to come out. The staff were very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend a visit.
Swing by here, bought a cup of coffee, it was amazing. After seeing so many customers here, must find a day to try their brunch!
Very tiny and seating is at a premium in 3 areas: footpath (not much room here but will suit many), indoors (busy hum ideal for those who like the hustle and bustle) and out side verandah (a more sedate pace for relaxing). Coffee is great as is the food. But the menu is a little light on hearty options for a weekend breakfast. We keep coming back though because it is tops.
It’s hard to set yourself apart in the cute cafe market but Cafe Gia takes it to a new level. Awesome suburban vibe, genuine service and a short but sharp menu. Plus I don’t think I have ever had real chocolate on my cappuccino 😀. This is a must for your Brissy breaky list.
Awesome wee cafe. Very reasonable priced and good quality foods. Coffee was great and overall vibe of the place was friendly and chilled out. Would recommend. Oh and did I mention, the coffee was fab!
