Review Archive Beer Boutique - Brisbane

H V
My favorite spot! Been going here since Nov ‘17 and it is a must visit spot when bringing friends over, either locally or from overseas (before pandemic and hopefully, soon). The ambience and the always pleasant staff members and of course, the beers, is what made me a regular patron. Made lots of memories as well as met new friends here, along the way. Archive will always be my place to go and recommendation.

Nice little place on the main bustling strip of West End. Downstairs is the traditional pub scene with energetic live music. Upstairs used to be a Cocktail Bar, but now turned into a function centre. If you get a chance, check out upstairs. A very posh and stylish bar experience. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff all around. Definitely worth a visit.
Daniel Kovacic
love this place. 3 stouts on tap, best chicken wings and pizzas.

The place is really chill and lots of areas for your own space. Live music on weekends is great. Pools tables and sports on tvs. Great little venue. Security are really friendly and welcoming. Place is clean and drinks are great prices. Will be back again. Great for any locals or tourists visiting the area wanting some where to chill out.

Live music was really good. I went with two friends. We ordered 3 pitchers of beer. My friend paid for two and when I go to pay the waiter tells me that the payment for the two has not been made and that I should pay for the 3. Today we have verified that my friend did pay for them. Two days after, I've gone to the Bar and they refund me my money.

Ordered 4 burgers, 1 pizza and 1 steak at 6:30 on a Thursday night. Currently sitting here at 8:00 with multiple tables empty 4 burgers, 1 pizza and 1 steak short with one person leaving Hungry. No refunds offered just vouchers for somewhere I will not return.

This is a great pub with a magnificent range of craft brews on tap, plus comfortable lounges to enjoy them. And if you're keen, there are board games, table tennis, pool tables and pin ball machines. There is in door and outdoor seating. There is also plenty of food available. This place is highly recommended 👍😁

Pub grub at it's finest. Schitty was cooked to nice and crispy texture, and there's a decent selection of alcohol as well. Nice cozy little place to snuggle up and sample a few of the local beers!

Don't bother eating here. I read all the good reviews and couldn't wait to try this place out. First the food, was shockingly bad. I had ordered the chicken burger, the patty was the size of a nugget. Then I ordered some wings for the table and when they arrived, when I asked the waiter if it was the right flavour, he scoffed and sighed before checking with the bar. Not the type of service or quality I would expect for their overpriced food. Spend your money and time somewhere else.

good vibrant place to be at on a friday night. has good options for beer-on-tap. also houses two pool-tables and table-tennis - latter to be preferred on any give day! much of the vibe in the hall was due to the music played and that remained towards one corner. the place is not exceptionally out-of-the-world great, and considering a holistic perspective, it gets 3 stars. however, it is a good place in westend to easily go to for beer and move to the tunes of music, also maybe a game of pool or tt.

Food was good, serving size large. Tata Tot’s were average. Lamb Shoulder was good. Wife loved the pie of the day. All round ok. Would come back.

Came here for a birthday party. The renovated space is looking great. Love the pool table and the space is big with comfy tables. The drinks are very well priced. We had many dishes come out for the party but standout was the pizza and bread with dips. The portions were huge and great quality ingredients. The service was so attentive, as usual. Great venue overall.

This place always hits the mark any day of the week, great staff, great beer choices and great food. No different this Sunday for lunch, we tried the crispy skin Barra with Asian veg. Well cooked Barra and tasty mix of veg. For entree the beef skewers with a great satay sauce, really hit the mark.

Laurence salmon... last Saturday we were here and one bar tender thinks we were too happy dancing to the tune from the DJ.... I can see that this bar is been made over but with same lack lustre tenders, patronage is sure to be poor to average.... too bad for the business owners!

A more upscale approach to pub food, the meal was really enjoyable. Perfectly cooked short ribs and good size of chips. Shared fry plate was nice, but a little pricey for $32. Wide range of beers on tap (it is a beer bar though) The atmosphere was okay but not the same as it used to be ( more edgy and unusual before) plus there was trivia on that was really loud so at times it was hard to speak to anyone. I would recommend it to group in there 20s or for a Christmas party etc.

You might be forgiven for walking by on a busy night as this place is generally fully and had a loud vibe. Monday's are different. Tonight the bistro had an $18 chicken parma, salad, chips, and pot with your choice of one of about ten sauces. Fresh crispy parma, steak cut fries, and a generous mixed green salad with lots of dressing.<br/><br/>Friendly staff and atmosphere. Definitely worth returning

Based purely on the beer selection, this place is beer heaven. A real chill vibe with lots of couches, pool tables and a walk in freezer to find the perfect six pack to take home or drink there. Minus a star because the bald guy who I'm under the impression is the bar manager is always extremely rude and unhelpful. Don't bother asking for a recommendation and expect to go searching for the beer you're after as his comment is always something like - we have 500 beers, I can't help you etc. It almost seems like he doesn't even like beer.. or his job for that matter. However, the younger guy is super helpful and gives great recommendations and will help you find that special beer on the menu that you're after.
Rebecca
Known for its beer and wings it didn't disappoint. The wings are a must have, mid-spicy buffalo was put pick. The beer list was extensive which my friend found overwhelming
Joe
This place is stupid. $6 for a take away beer they charge you $12 to drink it in house. We were told its "only a little more to drink it here"
Muncher
Excellent crafts beers and food, good style pub with relaxing atmosphere, live music and tasty pizza's and wings. Bar staff sometimes are not very helpful when asking questions about beers, they seemed annoyed the last 2 times I was there, I just asked which ones were the dark ales on tap and the bloke made a big song and dance about it,he said " I don't know, we have so many different beers", I said " just grab me a stubby of lord Neilson dark ale, mate" besides that it's a good place, enjoy :)
Ben
Cool place with plenty of room. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Meals were good with the steaks cooked perfectly. Good selection of beers available.

Comfy coaches, plenty of beer - check, check! Came back for the food and it's proximity to The Escape Hunt Experience. <br/><br/>Great Saturday? Book in for a 1hr puzzle session, and spend the afternoon with wings & beer at Archive lamenting the clues you missed and the keys you couldn't find.
Yumosumo
$9 for inedible chips. How do u get it wrong?! So disgusting and oily. Will def not be ordering chips ever again. Had buffalo wings which was great
Buzzin88
Terrible customer service. The bartender was exceedingly rude, got visibly annoyed with me over his own mistake, slammed the till shut and slammed my change into my hand. Zero customer service skills.
S Fingers
rather average service and overly priced. but glad to find a place that sells craft beers on tap. great quality real craft beers but not just "James squire" . great place to hangout with friends but you're looking for about $10 a schooner
Mitchell.kingston
Long been one of the best pubs in West End with it's great interior & atmosphere, wide variety of drinks and arguably Brisbane's best pub food, with the burgers and parmy the highlights.
Sen-sei
Archive never disappoints! Really lives up to its 'best boutique beer bar' title with beers of all flavours. Always a chill vibe with a cool interior and lights made from book pages, table tennis going and great live music. 2 for 1 Wednesday night meals are wicked too. Literally the only downside is that if you're there with a group sometimes it's hard to get a seat, but that just speaks for how good this place is
MsK
This is packed all the time. Service is average, bartenders are a little unhelpful though, it's as if they expect you to be experts like them. The energy and vibe of the place is upbeat but I still get the pub feels. Food was okay as well.
Howgoodisfoodbut
2-4-1 on a Wednesday are always a win at Archive... Everything you get is pretty darn good so definitely go back more than once to try different things... Be warned it does get busy so get in early! What would expect though from such an awesome deal.
Coffee Jo
a place we end up going to often. really good atmosphere. the bartender was a bit unhelpful one time with me. there was a miscommunication with an order and he did not even try to make it better for me.
Prufru
Chips were super tasty- beer battered and delightfully crispy. This is such a great pub.
Rosie
Had the shrimp tacos and my goodness they were yummy. Good food, beer & live music.
Lucy Gabb
Ignore the Hipster Haters. There's a deal pretty much everyday - burger & beer Mondays, pizza Tuesdays, 2-4-1 meals Wednesdays, dawg Thursdays, schnitzel Sundays. So for the complainers out there huffin & puffin about the price, you're doing it wrong. You gotta get the deals! <br/>And for the complainers about the beer, even if beers like Little Creatures have 'sold out' their boutique heritage, they still taste goood. Sure, there are plenty of more "authentic" boutique beers out there but for a good value feed & a nice hopsy beer you can't go wrong.

When you mix together big American beers, big American food and big American sport at Brisbane’s best beer bar, what does it mean? It means it’s time for some Hops ‘n’ Dawgs. There will be plenty of hops. There will plenty of dawgs. There will be plenty of Baseball home runs to watch on the big screens. Come get yourself a slice of American pie with Hops ‘n’ Dawgs...

Love. Still my favourite place to for a feed of chicken wings and a great beer!
Orderatab
SOOO GOOD!. This place is the bomb, seriously good variety of beers, great staff i love this place!
HungryJoe
Best chips ever. Yummo chips and so many beers to choose from, including Moo from Tasmania (a personal favourite). Can get a bit busy and noisy, and there is often some live music on the weekends.

There are better places. Had a good night with friends, then, unexplainedly, the barman roughed me out of the pub for "abusing" a barmaid. very confused and very unhappy. there are better places in Brisbane, go there.
Sajaki67
Poor food delivery. Our order's always come out of order and there is always someone at our table waiting at least 10 minutes after the first plate arrives.

Two for one Wednesday Deal - too many rules to get a cheap meal, so not worth the effort!!!. I took 13 people to Archive today to have the two for one deal. Unfortunatley, it is definately a TWO for one offer and there is no verring from that rule! I asked if the odd numbered person could avail of the "half" price offer; to be told no way adn no amount of rationalizing would change the rule. Said that you would rather 13 people walk out for the sake of bending the rule for a $10 meal, for an extra person. to which the receptionist and head chef turned their back on me and walked away, ending the discussion. <br/>Firstly, how rude, to turn your back and ignore a customer, and secondly....what's with all the rules, do they not want our business??? Clearly not. Shame Archive staff, shame!!!<br/>The Boundary across the road have no problem accommodating for odd numbered guests, and this will be my choice from now on!
BrisbaneEater
Worst service. Extremely poor service, with wait staff that are rude. This has happened twice when I was here and to other customers I know. I am absolutely sick of it. Treat your customers with a bit more respect because you're losing quite a few already.
Dion
Terrible pub masquerading as as a beer boutique. If you're after disinterested staff, and mediocre beer at boutique prices then this venue is for you! Do yourself a favour and head to The Scratch or Tipplers Tap where you be offered samples of their genuinely hand selected range of beers, and served with a smile. If you are already in West End, head up the road to Lock n Load for a small range of very fresh beers, again served with a smile. Don't be fooled, if you really enjoy a quality handcrafted beer, steer clear of Archive.

Great for a cheap lunch. Food: Went here a lot for a cheap lunch on a Friday with work friends, Steak Chips and Salad for $15, is pretty good. Usually consistent, fast and always good. Once I was let down with a tough gristle steak. But I stress it was only once.<br/><br/>Drinks: So many beers on tap you will find one you like!<br/><br/>Atmosphere: Great atmosphere can be busy at lunch and after work, however our meals we were never forgotten.
Greg
Don't fall for this high rating. I am lactose intolerant. I asked for a pizza without cheese. The girl serving me rolled her eyes and said "we don't really do that here". They eventually agreed to do it but then gave us a pizza that had a small amount of cheese under the toppings. We didn't look under the toppings and didn't realise until after finishing the pizza. As I write this review I am experiencing the symptoms of eating lactose. <br/>I will strongly advocate against this place to people I know.
Brad Allan
Great atmosphere and love 2 for 1 Wednesday. <br/>Food is better than your average pub meal and big servings. <br/>Thumb up.
BenW
Cool, but too mainstream. Great craft beers, but it's starting to become too well known in Brisbane.

Embarrassed and asked to leave.. A dreadful night @Beer_Archive - Something customers (potential and existing) should be aware of...<br/><br/>I've just gotten home from Archive. I'm not inebriated, I'm not angry, just deeply disappointed that people in supervisory and managerial positions in a relatively new venue can get it so wrong. Below, I will explained what happened, in a nutshell, and it's disgusting...<br/><br/>Visiting from interstate, I'm from Brisbane and up for the Mother's Day weekend. I was excited to hear of this place from a friend and we caught up at Archive tonight - the first time for both of us.<br/><br/>The beer was good, the service was not. In fact, from one particular staff member, a supervisor no less (who shan't be named as she went to some pains to hide her identity), the lack of service ventured into the territory of blatant rudeness and lack of duty of care.<br/><br/>Having had a couple of hours sampling the different beers on offer, we wanted something to eat. I went to order something vegetarian and after enquiring about the fries, the supervisor had to check but told me that they we made in vegetable oil, but the chicken was also cooked in the same oil. In fact, the ONLY real vegetarian option on the menu was bread and dip. I commented the menu wasn't exactly inclusive of the community in this day and age - which is my prerogative.<br/><br/>After suggesting that they should maybe have a separate fryer for the chips, the supervisor - no kidding - rolled her eyes, turned, and mumbled something I couldn't hear.<br/><br/>"Excuse me?" I may have raised my voice a little (fair enough) and she came back to me, told me she "didn't like my tone" and said "I'd be leaving now".<br/><br/>Yep, at the age of 40, I was thrown out of my first pub. Seriously.<br/><br/>She brought the manager to deal with the situation and I was suddenly flanked by burley security and found myself defending my position and rights as a customer. The manager explained he had to side with his staff (a new managerial style to be sure), and the supervisor, smirking, rolled her eyes again and again as I told my side of the story.<br/><br/>I was "allowed" to finish my beer, paid my bill, and I left with my friend.<br/><br/>Not only was I asked to leave after challenging the authenticity of so-called vegetarian dishes on the menu (lucky I did), but when I clarified the disagreement, I was humiliated in front of others while I hadn't actually done a single thing wrong.<br/><br/>I am not a difficult customer. I simply want to know what I'm eating and assume staff in a restaurant will not roll their eyes when questioned. The owners of this establishment would do better to employ staff with people skills and some measure of understanding and appreciation of what customers need or want.<br/><br/>NOT RECOMMENDED FOR VEGETARIANS (or customers with questions).<br/><br/>PS - I have put my name to this; more than I can say for the supervisor who wouldn't give me hers.

2-4-1's Tuesday is about all I'd pay for these meals. Sounds like a hen house inside and I feel for the poor musician that you can only hear if you stand in front of the speakers. Not my idea of a good night out.

Drinkies. Awesome chic/retro fitout - very Melbournesque. Great place to hang out for a few beverages. We sat inside on the couches and also in the rear beer garden (is also a DOSA). We got hassled for change (and cigarettes) a few times by passing bums.<br/><br/>Didn't eat anything here the day that I came here - so I still don't know what the food is like!
Fabstinence
Belittled by staff member. I used to come here religiously, but now have decided to turn to other Brisbane venues for my beer needs. I last went in when they had Holgate Empress on tap, and when I went to the bar and ordered it, I was given a funny look and asked 'Do you know how much that is?'. Um, yes, given that it's written on your chalkboard in big letters, not to mention on all the clipboards sitting around the place. It hardly comes in as the most expensive beer they stock, and I've certainly paid more for a beer from there before. I was pretty upset by the implication that I couldn't afford it or didn't really know what i was ordering - I guess I don't look like the typical beer fan as a young woman, but I've managed to drink elsewhere without the judgement, so no more Archive for me. I wouldn't put up with that kind of comment if I were clothes or grocery shopping, so I'm not going to put up with it there.

Never again!!!!!!!. Hi!<br/><br/>I am really unsatisfied of your boutique. I wnet here for a few drinks with australian mates since it was Australia day and, apparently with no reasons, I've been kicked out. They said I looked drunk when I was totally sober and I was just sitting at a table talking with my friends, and I sjust had a few drinks at boundary hotel before. They were pushing me out the boutique and I totally did not like that. They had no reasons to kick me out since, honestly talking, all the people looked more drunk than me.<br/>Probably they kicked me out just because I'm Italian and I don't speak a good english.<br/>Anyway, I'll never be back at this place and the security guys are brainless!!!!
HanR
Absolutely horrible. My partner and I went on Monday for Burger night only to find that a minuscule beer (not of your choice) had been added to the price (for an extra $5). What a rip off. Furthermore the food was bland, cold and made me feel ill. We won't be back.
Jenny
Fantastic. I love going to this place - it's my default meeting place when catching up with friends in West End
Andy R
Dissapointing!! The beer is excellent, as you'd expect but the menu has changed from an interesting quasi-Greek inspired fare to your run of the mill ordinary pub food. I had the swordfish last night, as it use to be surprisingly good, but unfortunately it was disasterous. Obviously since change in management, so has the good food. There use to be an excellent haloumi and chorizo salad or haloumi and eggplant salad for vegetarians, gone!! The vego options have all but dwindled!!! So disappointing!!! Will still drink beer and frequent the bottle-o, but I probably won't been here again!!
Cozzylicious
Beer, Burger, Bingo Mondays! :). We visited Archive a couple of times on our visit to sunny Brisbane, the first was on a Saturday night whilst we waited for a table at a nearby restaurant. The place was packed, we were lucky to score a quieter table at the entrance of the establishment. Service was great and the selections of beers, well the guys were in beery heaven. Great place for a drink on a Saturday night if you don't mind a crowd and yelling your conversations at your friends. Our second visit was a much quieter evening on Monday night. People were playing bingo and there were $10 burgers on offer. We ordered our burgers from the kitchen and the staff were friendly and pleasant. The burgers were great, can't complain for $10 and the serving of chips was very generous. Good spot for a quiet beer, burger and bingo on a Monday if you've nothing better to do! The one bar staff on the other hand was quite arrogant, and happier to be having a conversation with his mates then serving paying patrons. But you can't win them all!
Mary
Good place to hang out and have a drink, hardly a place to find nice food. Unimpressive but it has nice atmosphere.
Archiguy81
Ambiance, Variety and a Large wallet. Archive started as an awesome concept and is still a king place for hanging out. However, recently I had lunch there with some work colleagues.. $32 for rump, $22 for Fish and potato, $9 for chips at a pub? - c'mon guys. Bread thrown on a gas grill does not taste good, despite how gourmet it looks. Also, I've never known anyone to destroy pork belly that is tastes like lard. Good thing the beer variety is compensation.
Alicia Bettles
Love the homely vibe - and of course beer but way overpriced in the food dept for very stingey and unimpressive food.

Get a beer for the kids. Great beer but if you're over 30 be prepared to have a nan or pop moment - this is a real student hang. Loads better than most of the bars around though - no angsty vibe and a range of beers you just won't get anywhere else.
Richo
Great Beer Here!. Where else can you get a Little Creatures Pale, a Stone & Wood Draught, or a White Rabbit Dark from a tap at any time? That and their other taps out front seem to usually be brews I like to drink. And to me the whole point of going out for a beer is to have it draught.<br/><br/>Add to it the Next Door Cellar (on Wed-Sun) and their six taps of intense brews from locals & around the world, plus the bottle-shop selection, then what is there not to like? Oh yes... add to it the half-gallon 'growlers' of tap beer you can take home Thursday nights, and another win is ticked for this place. Food-wise, it's been hit or miss. the chips are great, as is the cheese plate, but the mains seem to be off or on. Had a great steak, and had a not-so-great one. Funny thing was they were served to me at the same time when I ordered them on 241 Wednesday ( I was quite hungry after work). Some inconsistancy from day-to-day can be expected from anyplace, but to have it on the same serve... could have been the meat cut I guess. <br/><br/>Outside the 2fer deal, and the pub grazing plates, the food is not what to come for. You come for the Holgate Roadtrip IPA or the Obama Black IPA, the various Mekkeller or Rogue brews, or the Bridge Roads, Vintage Cooper's or the White Rabbits whilst relaxing on a comfy chair and talking with friends.<br/><br/>Parking reasonable close has never been a problem, and if yu wish to indulge in a few more brews, then the 199 bus will drop you off either at the door if coming from the city, or across the street if coming from parts west. Either way, I recommend a visit!
Jim
Absolute gem. Anyone supporting the craft beer industry in this country is a winner in my books. But to then actually be so damn cool puts you a step above the rest. I went on the cheap burger night, and was surprised at the bang-for-your-buck that we managed to achieve with the meals. Loved the fact that, despite being so busy, the bar service was still really fast. The Wii is a great idea, I love the wallpapering, love the deconstructed book-chandeliers.
CharlieP
Best Beer (selection) in Brisbane. Fact.. Archive is exactly what you're looking for. The decor is very cool, though I believe they're missing one of their dictionary volumes. The staff, though overwhelmed at times with the amount of patrons, handle it very well. The beer selection is just awesome, and if you're looking for a good cocktail, the bartenders are very knowledgeable. Trivia on Tuesday nights is a lot of fun, but get in early so you can secure the lounges.
Kat
Great for after dinner drinks. Great drinks, good service, good atmosphere. Fantastic live music on a Friday night. Wouldn't go there for food; there is much better food in West End for the money.
RL
BEER and only BEER!. The only reason i venture to this bar is for the beer! The staff are unbelievably rude, i dont know if they are aware, but we can see them behind the bar... and when someone asks you a question or gives you their order.... dont roll your eyes...(i shouldnt pin point them all though, a couple of the girls are nice.) the food is ordinary but i guess you get what you pay for and the $10 snitzel was just that... a $10 snitzel.<br/>live music could have been turned down a little though, to avoid me screaming so my friends could hear me.
Nev
Good..but lacking some. I like the decor and its great on a Sunday afternoon when its not busy, but the bar staff are really rude and I find the beer overpriced too. We went for the 2 for 1 meal and both got the pork belly but neither liked it very much, I wasn't expecting that much fat in it and the tomato sauce was overpowering. It was ok for the half price but I definately wouldn't want to pay full price. I don't know if it was show day but there were a lot of wankers in suits and drunk girls screaming (at 6pm!) and it took me ages to even order my drink, and the rude bar girl slopped it all over the counter.
Ian R
Meh. I looooove the beers here and will come often for some ales and the really nice chips that Archive do but the majority of the menu i find to be quite overpriced. But stay for the beers...
EnHop
Pleasant Change. This place is very convieniant. Good range of Beers with good food to match.. Plenty of tables and great live music. Located underneath Uber makes it very handy for the younger ground to have a meal then upstairs for a party!<br/>Makes for a good day/night out all in the one building!
Hjohnny
Do yourself a favour and dont go.... What an absolute croc. nothing but a group of sheep who think they are trendy by drinking over priced home brew in a library setting. the singer with the fro is always up on stage more pissed than everyone because of the massive line up to get a beverage. why do they serve those wannabe pint glasses - what a scam? a lot of aggression in this place with it being so packed you can't even get to the bar without someone spilling your home brew. despite waiting for 20 minutes at the front of the bar - the bar tender served his friends and good looking girls straight up with wanky bartending techniques eg throwing up a lime and catching it. he was being such a knob and couldn't even get a full nip in the glass. RIP OFF!
Memily
Beers, beers and more beers.. The selection of beer here is amazing - even the tap selection is great, and cheap. The meals are good, too - get in on a Wednesday for 2-4-1 deals and eat up some delicious and cheap pork belly!
Mr. White
Good atmosphere, good range of beers and good food as far as pub grub is concerned. The signature plate is nice, but has a lot more potential than what is plated - tonight, at least.
Otaki Jim
Great Beer, pitty about the food. Went in today for Sunday lunch, firstly the beer range is fantastic, great to go somewhere in Brisbane with quality beer. Great furniture, layout and feel to the place. Big let down on the food, don't get me wrong the food was o.k. but for the price I would have expected alot better. Great place to head for a few beers and a plate of chips, not the place to go if you want a decent meal, what a shame, this place has the potential to be one of Brisbane's best beer venue's, but people that drink quality craft beer like good quality food too.
Elizabeth Sims
Nice Atmosphere, Great Beers, Service only okay. We went here with some friends for the first time as we had heard a lot about the place. Overall impressions were pretty good. They have an amazing selection of beers and a small but quality wine selection. The food was really nice as well. My recommendation would be to order a selection from the grazing menu, tapas style, and share. We had both a meal and then as we were there for so long some snacks later on and found the snacks were the best option. Atmosphere is funky if a trifle over done although that is West End for you. The only downside to the time was the waitress who bought our meals. When she bought out the first (of two) schnitzel ordered I asked which sauce it had as my friend and I had order differently only to be told "whatever sauce was ordered with the beef burger". Aside from being a completely unprofessional response, we had actually ordered 2 x beef burgers and 2 x schnitzels so her response also made her look like a complete dumb ass. Aside from that incident the day was great and we did generally enjoy the place.

First Relaxtion Session In A While. Well, let me just say, I havent rested in a while, but when I have, for some reason ive always ended up at the Archive Beer Boutique and Bistro having a nibble and trying the great variety of beers on offer.<br/><br/>It fills me with smiles and joy and is SIMPLY funky!!<br/><br/>After ive worked myself into total relaxation, I find i have to finish it off with a positively endearing greek meal a little further down on the corner of Browning and Boundary...but anyways, like I said, these guys at Archive just deliver exactly what I need.....

Nice and Simple. I went there for dinner with a friend mid week and overall I had a good time. The decor is great, I love the couches and there's a nice atmosphere. <br/><br/>The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was efficient. Plus lots of great beers that aren't overpriced.<br/><br/>It is more of a pub so don't expect fine dining. The food is good and honest and that's what you're after at a place like Archive.
Kessler
Fantastic beers at reasonable prices. Best bar atmosphere in Brisbane I believe. Food can be a bit hit and miss but go for the 2 for 1 Wednesdays and u will be sweet
Luvsbread
Awesome beer. Great beer selection and awesome atmosphere! recommend for something a bit different
Sully
Good atmosphere and service. Excellent selection of beers at good prices. Lots of midweek deals to keep you coming every night.
Ben
Mussel myth. Wishful Pantry: unopened mussels are NOT poisonous. That's a myth. They are fine to open & eat so long as they don't smell off.
Johnny
Underwhelming. Archive is that most dreaded of all adjectives. It's 'fine'.<br/>The beer is 'fine'. Not inexpensive, but 'fine'. The burgers are 'fine'. Not horrid, just not great. The staff are as polite as they have to be by law - there must be a minimum spend before they crack a smile. It's 'fine', 'fine, 'fine'. Not really interesting enough to be dreadful.
Alqualisse
The only place to go for great vibes, superlative Aussie beer, fantasic food, wonderful service and comfy comfy chairs. So easy to wild away hours in that never never land
Yop
Good atmosphere. Good vibe and atmosphere.

Great for beer, food not so good, i had great company though ;)

Go for the beer but NOT the food.

Go for the beer, don't eat the food. Me and my friends love, love, love the beer at Archive but as a foodie, I wouldn't eat there by choice. <br/><br/>While the steaks are half price on Wednesdays, it's always packed which means slow service and either super overdone or undercooked steaks, which isn't great at any price. <br/><br/>We went again last night for Trivia Tuesday and while their grazing menu is well-thought out to suit a cold glass of beer I was very disappointed that about 1/4 of the mussels in my bowl were unopened (dead before cooking and highly poisonous). I felt kind of cheated and also alarmed that they wouldn't take out the dead mussels. <br/><br/>Definitely drink the beer and try the bar menu (chips, blue cheese balls) but stay clear of the real dishes.

Beeeeeeer. Fantastic beer selection. Pool tables. Open late. Would highly recommend coming here and sampling the beer but probably not for a meal.

They have gluten free beer!! Awesome atmosphere

Great vibe on a Sunday night, the food was pretty average. But I don't think you come here for that. I will come back and try something different maybe it was my choice.

Best beer in brisbane. Archive only sells micro brewed australian beers. If you love beer then come here. There are fridges with over 100 different beers and all varieties. Although you wont find much under $20 for lunch the steak burger is really good for $16. The Chef is good. The bar staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about beer.

Bring on the Steaks and beer!. Wow loved it! Was there last night for their Tuesday trivia night - food: i had the steak and i love my steak rare. Its hard to get a great rare steak that isnt actually bleeding. It was perfect, actually better than perfect. My friend had the pasta which she also loved. Great work Chef's<br/>As for the rest - Trivia had a great atmosphere, there were groups huddling and yelling which was great, if your bored on a tuesday night and want a great meal, with a fun game, this is the place to be!!

Staff need to smile, ignorant pretencious pricks. This place is going in the 'archive', never coming back!

We were very spoilt for choice – there were 18 draught beers on tap and over 400+ different bottled beers (domestic and imported) in their bar fridges!

This is our where to eat and drink guide to Brisbane; incomplete and personally biased for the sort of food we like and what we consider to be ‘value for money’. We have decided to divide our restaurant preferences into occasions rather than areas. We find that generally, where you go depends as much on the reason as the suburb. You have favourite places for family dinner, for Sunday afternoon drinks and Wednesday morning breakfasts and you are happy to travel to get to them. If you want a complete guide for where to eat in Brisbane by price or suburb, visit Urbanspoon . You can read our Urbanspoon reviews as well. We hope you enjoy our recommendations as much as we do. Good anytime Foxy Bean, Wooloongabba – can’t say a bad thing about this place seeing as it was Birgit’s wedding venue, but it is good for any meal of the day. Kettle and Tin, Paddington – popular from brunch through to Tuesday trivia and birthday parties, it’s hard to go wrong at Kettle and Tin. Hoo Ha Bar, South Brisba

This isn't the first time we've been to the Archive Beer Boutique , but it's the first time we've gone there with a plan for lunch. For those that haven't heard of the Archive Beer Boutique, well it's as great as it sounds. A fairly large size pub found halfway down Boundary St in West End. What are they known for? Beer of course. With 14 (constantly rotating) on tap and over 400 in bottles it's where you go if you like beer. Bridge Road Bling IPA (with the food menu) They also however, do a pretty tasty lunch. And on Sunday they rock out with $10 schnitzels and live music. We didn't stay long enough for the live music (getting there at 12:15pm and leaving by 1:30pm) but the meal was amazing. $10 is pretty cheap for a schnitzel of this quality. It was fairly sizable and came with a generous serving of chips. chicken schnitzel  w beer battered fries, house salad, sauce The sauce was a really tasty gravy with hints of pepper. The chicken had a delicious crumbing on it and was cooked to p

I don’t drink beer, but enjoy Archive during the week because they are quieter, have pool and most importantly, have walls covered with Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics. That someone would cut these up for wallpaper is a tragedy, but it means that while I avoid playing pool, I have beautiful walls to read and stare at. I must look a little special. In the worlds of the beer drinker: “The beer’s good, it’s got couches, it’s comfortable.

Chances are that you will come here for a quiet a beer or two on a lazy afternoon which somehow transforms into an absolute bender of a night twenty drinks later. A good feed from the bistro menu will be a pretty good idea at that stage and it will save you that trip to the dirty kebab store later.
Feed Me Now Brisbane
This place certainly does its job in terms of selection and taste. Boasting 350+ brews, Archive does not fail to satisfy with 14 beers and ciders on tap with the rest available in bottles. Love what you drank? Have a look next door – chances are you can purchase it from their cellars. Food is a little hit-and-miss, (which seems to be the case at many West End establishments), so opt for the haloumi and pumpkin burger ($17) or a steak ($28) as a sure bet. My second visit was a quick lunch and it was good to see the menu had since changed (with our least favourite options no longer in sight). The decor of this boutique is that of an antiqu

The funky atmosphere at Archive Beer Boutique makes it a great place to hang out for a couple of drinks with mates. What’s even better is that every Wednesday, they have a two for one promotion on offer. No bookings are accepted on Wednesday for that reason and it’s recommended that you get your feet in the door before 6.30 to secure a table.

Overall, Archive serves quality pub food and next time we shall return night to check out the atmosphere and sample their "Bistro styled" dishes.

Archive is now definitely the place to go for good beer in Brisbane. The fridges behind the bar are full of a dazzling variety of Australian craft beers

Archives main claim to fame is their awesome craft beer menu. They have a few on tap as well as offering a huge list of bottled beers. They also have gluten free beer for those intolerant ones amongst us.

I'd be interested to try the other menu items at Archive too. It reminds me a bit of the restaurant concept by Chris from Masterchef Australia Season 1... mixing beer with food. Many of the dishes at Archive feature beer components.

Last week D and I sat at Archive in West End, looking around in awe like little kids. We ticked off the beer house/bar’s positive points: it’s cheap (hello, Little Creatures pots for

The venue is surprisingly large – who knew that Uber housed such a large space downstairs? The balcony area houses around 3 large tables, a few small ones, bench space as well as the kitchen or bistro. The inside is bigger and contained two billiard table

If you love beer, then Archive is the place for the Brisbanites. They have one of the widest selections of beer from across the country. Their 2 page beer menu is the testament to their collection and it can be a little overwhelming for a featherweight dr
