This is gorgeous gem of a restaurant, the decor and atmosphere is delightful, the service wonderful and prompt, the coffee devine and food delicious. Highly recommended!
Went and grabbed some brunch with Iron Fist the other day in the relatively unexplored (at least on my part) foodie hub along Fox St in Albion. Iron Fist had actually done some research and suggested that this would be a brunchy place that we both enjoy so much. . Arriving at around 11am, it was around half full. Our attention was immediately captivated by the many creative antiquities decorating the store situated in such an industrial area. It made for a very unique and rustic vibe. Having made an appointment nearby in 45 mins, we asked the waitress if it would be better for us to order take away or whether there would be enough time for us to enjoy a sit down lunch. To this she confidently assured us that we would be able to finish in time, so we grabbed a table and sat down.
Really nice place, I was here yesterday for the first time. I enjoyed my mocha very much, really smooth taste.
The place is lovely and the owners really friendly. I loved their dog, so cute!
this place is the best. the music and the space is relaxing. great food and service. emile & solange next door is a cheese lovers heaven too.
The food is special. I'm convinced they cook their eggs in some holy duck lard. There is a small dog who will greet you at the tables and allow petting for a small food fee. They have a Nordic horn to signal the close of kitchen. Why haven't you eaten here yet?

Vieille Branche is a lovely French inspired cafe in a mixed use space right in the middle of industrial Albion. It is a diamond in the rough. I have been here several times now and the food has been lovely each time. The service was a little unfriendly on my first visit but has been fine on subsequent visits. I had to go to the counter for menus and to order the first time but was offered table service other times.
Each time my food arrived in good time and was delicious with a lovely mix of flavours. Unfortunately the first time I went the table water was warm. They do not refrigerate the bottles for the table. On a hot day the interior is warm and the lack of cold water very noticeable. This wasn't an issue on other visits when the weather was cooler. I recommend the potato gillette for a light lunch or if you want room left over for the dessert of the day.
On my second visit the weather was cooler and the cauliflower, cheese and apple soup was delicious and a great way to warm up.
Note that they have their own cheese shop next door so any dish served with cheese will be amazing. Yes, even the open grill. It is made with gruyere and is just divine.
Coffee is amazing! And the food is beautiful, both times I've been everything has been great. Such a beautiful warehouse atmosphere too but make sure to be early if you're meeting someone parking isn't the best in this area
Gorgeous lil joint with a jazz band, cheese and plonk. Fab vibe + I adore the interior design. Staff fab too.
I could not recommend Vieille Branche enough! I recently had my baby shower there and Jen and JC just made everything so easy. From providing amazing food and drinks to setting up the venue beautifully and providing incredible service I could not have asked for anything more. If you're looking for a place to hold an event you can't go past Vieille Branche if i could give it more than 5 out of 5 I would.
Absolutely beautiful space. Perfect venue for a special occasion.
