This reliable Sushi franchise always satisfies! We order our lunch on the iPad ordering system and our dishes start arriving after 5 minutes. Sushi is freshly prepared and delicious. One drawback is the poor air conditioning system. It was 34°C outside and the restaurant was poorly ventilated and uncomfortable, hence the 1 point deduction!
5 stars for service with big smiles!
Fast dine-in concept. Orders made over the ipad took no longer than 2 mins to reach our table. And the place was 3/4 full. Japanese efficiency is something to admire.
The ingredients tasted very fresh. Except for the Ikura. But I was really surprised that they served ikura, can't usually find it in Brisbane.
Sushi:
Made on request or grab it from the belt. I prefer to order from the ipad, just cus they will make a new batch for you.
They should use sriracha-mayo for their spicy salmon and tuna gunkan and maki, it will taste much better.
Beef Udon (star dish) 11 bucks:
Its what you'd expect from a udon outlet in Tokyo. The broth tasted great! And the udon was done just right. It was silky smooth. And they bothered to cook the beef and it was slightly seared.
Gyozas were underwhelming. Taste like those frozen ones from Coles.
Ice cream was not too great. The sesame one tasted better than the macha one.
Another suggestion would be to add rice bowls to their menu ! Its so easy to assemble! Like a salmon don or beef teriyaki don. Higher margins on those too!
Would visit again to satisfy my sushi cravings!
I eat A LOT of sushi, and Sushi Edo is by far my favourite. Affordable for the portions you get (most of the time) and if you order a plate not from the train, it always comes in fresh. Service isn't bad, but it's not great other - sometimes they're super friendly, other times they're not. Over the course of my times spent here, I've tried nearly all the Aburi, Nigiri, Small and Big Rolls. Portions of most plates tend to be the same, but what I noticed is the Roasted Pork Nigiri I had on my very first time here was quite thick, whereas the past few times, it's been sliced super thin. I do appreciate their ordering system on the little tablet machines - efficient in dining and getting the bill sorted
No complaints here. Fresh, yummy, cheap and fast. Ticks all the boxes for us and for my son who is a serious sushi pig. So the point system really helps feed my sushi piggy son plus they provide a further discount if you pay by cash. Another bonus. We usually go to the one at newmarket which is also great. Love Sushi Edo.
Dined here 4 occasions before events and it has always been a great experience. Fast and efficient service, extremely good prices, tasty dishes and a large menu to explore. Literally going back this weekend for more.
Today walking home from Roma street I decided to have a stop at Petrie Terrace looking around I saw this outlet and since I have no idea when was the last time I had sushi I thought was time to do it.
Entering the store I see all the tables taken and only a few seats available which basically means fresh sushi!
Taking my seat I play around with the tablet for a while and start paying attention to what's in front of me, it doesn't take long until something grabs my attention and I start my meal.
Overall I tried quite a few dishes, nothing was amazing but I still enjoyed everything. All the sushis I had tasted fresh but some had too much sauce for my liking. Their spicy options such as the spicy chicken karaage and the volcano that I tried today weren't spicy enough but a bit too much sweet.
Overall they have a lot of options available on the menu and even when ordering something it doesn't take long to be served, I guess the 3 dishes that I ordered from the tablet took less than 5 minutes to be served. It's a nice option for a quick and cheap meal and I would definitely come back.
I go to this place a lot. It's cheap, it's consistently great quality considering the price and the staff are lovely. Forget any low ratings of this place, it's hugely popular for good reason.
Nice and fresh sushi, consistent every time. Love the ipad ordering system, so that i can have me time when I dine there (its just me, usually prefers quiet rather than chitty chatty)
My fav sushi train in town ATM. Ideal pre-movie dining.

Always amazing! I am so glad you opened up just down the road from me! Now I must admit I have been here three nights in the last week but hey, "when it ain't broke?". Thanks Sushi Edo, your service and food are fantastic! Best sushi in Paddington!!!
I grabbed some take-away sushi from Sushi Edo before heading into a movie. I ordered from the descriptions given on the iPad ordering system so had no idea about serving sizes. This was a pity as each serve was only half a roll so I was left hungry and didn't have time tong back and get more.
The seafood sushi was delicious but the mayonnaise sauce made it messy. The vegetable one was lovely but had far too much lettuce which detracted from the usual flavour and texture of sushi. The big plus was that they were made fresh to order and seemed to be made with care. They were presented well.
Staff were friendly but it was a bit confusing near the counter as it was difficult to tell who was waiting to order and who was waiting to collect their order. There is limited space near the entrance to cope with the number of take-away orders. This would be a great place to go to dine in but in my opinion is not the best sushi for take-away.
Had a beautiful lunch, I've tried basically everything and i am impressed.. Food was good quality not to much rice and fresh fish.. Only downside is lack of interaction with staff because you order everything from iPad.
I wish you all the best guys definitely be back
Excellent restaurant if you want quality Japanese food quickly and efficiently. Each 'dish' costs 3.80, which while has definitely increased from its original price over the years, is still affordable for those eating in smaller numbers. Additionally, their ipad ordering system takes away the reliability on the sushi train, something that sometimes turns me off to other Japanese places. I regularly eat their before heading out to Suncorp, or before watching a movie. However, not good for large groups of 6+.
When I went on a Thursday they had a lot on the rail but not many options. But I love that I got to play 'Dalgona' as featured in Squid game. Mine crack, tastes good too.

Got a big lot of take away from here tonight. They were speedy with lovely service. They have quality food/sushi at all times! Recommend this place!
Great location and good quality Sushi at $4.20 a plate.
