This Family Business is located at 486 Waterworks Rd Ashgrove Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, tuck in corner among all the shops, plenty of great menu, I almost can’t choose, all the food that I order was perfect, I have take away this time, would love to have dine in next time.
We would definitely return. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. The service was quick and pleasant, and the menu contained all our favourites and more.
The best sushi I’ve ever had here. They make it fresh for you every time and the people that work there are always so nice and attentive! I’m happy that I only live just down the road and can always get my sushi fix here. :D
Good quality food, friendly and efficient service, reasonably priced, nicely presented dining area, good selection of Japanese drinks and local beers; have been here numerous times and never disappointed; Bento boxes are a favourite.
I went to Osaka on a Tuesday night. The parking in the area is confusing at first but very easy. As we arrived in the restaurant itself, it was very simple and pleasant. The server was very friendly and helpful! The food was great, as an avid Japanese cuisine fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The price was okay and I would definitely come again!
What a little gem! Shame we did not discover this place earlier. We (2 people) went there last Tuesday. We had the Dinner Bento Box - hubby chose salmon and I chose beef. Both meals were wonderful and delicious. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be back for sure.

Excel with friendly staff and great food. Casual dining plus easy parking and affordable take away. Great hours allow access to tasty well cooked food at all hours of the day. Will get my repeat business. Love this place.
The food was good but not amazing, I had the Pork Curry and it was alright but wouldn't have it again. The service was Okay, and the restaurant was nice. Would go back again but would probably try something else.
This is my favourite Japanese Restaurant to go to. The staff are always super friendly and kawaii and the food is always delicious and at a good price! My go to is the salmon on fire roll, but I do love having a taste of my mans Japanese chicken curry. Their gyoza are always crisp, yet juicy on the inside and their chicken fried rice is generous and so tasty. I love this place!

Good quality and fresh. I go there very often with friends and family have never disappointed. Returned here last night for dinner. The place was full and the service was great. We ordered Sashimi and bento box, it was fresh and a must try if you like Japanese food. We definitely will be back!
You are only missing out if you haven't eaten here. A perfect example of a hidden treasure. I have tried a few Japanese Restaurants and this one is hands down the best. I recommend the Takoyaki, 6 balls of baby octopus bliss for $7, add it to your order. The mains are too big for how delicious they are, extremely friendly service, plenty of undercover parking dine in or takeaway, Exquisite is an understatement. A must try secret worth sharing.
Best restaurant in Ashgrove. Osaka really is the best restaurant in Ashgrove! Their customer service is always professional, friendly and fast. The Agadashi tofu soup is absolutely delicious, along with every other option on the menu ( i have tried all of it ). Quality dining, or take out, every time!!

Will definitely be back!. We tried this restaurant yesterday after a recommendation from my boss. It was a brilliant experience from start to finish. Great service from the staff and the surrounds are lovely, very reminiscent of the little hole in the wall restaurants I used to frequent when I lived in Tokyo. The food was fresh and beautifully presented. Most meals come with a yummy miso soup and a small salad dressed with that traditional sesame (goma) dressing that brought back lovely memories. The sushi rolls are huge so highly recommend sharing a couple. The lunch Bento box was great value. Actually all the meals were very generous and we could get a doggy bag for the chicken curry rice bowl that we couldn't finish.
Definitely worth a visit, we can't wait to go back!
Excellent Japanese. I love this place. I have been going for a while now. The bento boxes are great if you want a good sized meal for lunch or dinner. The sashimi plate is also great. The fish is always so fresh! I haven't had a bad meal here yet.
Beautiful Japanese. Beautifully well prepared Japanese at very reasonable prices with excellent customer service. We've had dinner here a few times now and have never been disappointed. We usually order the bento box (so hard to resist), the teriyaki salmon can sometimes be a bit dry, but the rest is always perfect! The wait staff are 'A' grade for everything - they're friendly, attentive, helpful and even thoughtful (they always bring out a plastic bowl and fork for our daughter). If you love proper Japanese, you have to try Osaka at Ashgrove.
Have eaten a few things off the menu, chicken fried rice peaked my interest although very disappointed as there was probably enough egg shell for 2 eggs...
Refreshingly Different!. Its so nice to have something different arrive in your suburb for dining as opposed to all the same old stuff. We are blessed to have this lovely little Japanese Restaurant arrive in Ashgrove. We had eaten here a few times. Nice atmosphere, beautiful food and very friendly staff. Just a little slow but worth the wait! Such a nice change to have hapy polite staff for a change too. Lets make sure we keep this little gem and support it!
Are you guys ever open? You seem to just pick and choose the days that you want to be open. Seriously, I want to eat your awesome sushi but I'm sick of turning up to closed doors!!
Great Japanese restaurant in the burbs. Be sure to book as this restaurant is no longer a secret. Mixed tempura was delicious and seafood all very fresh. Udon noodle soups were very tasty and generous portion sizes. Will be definitely be returning.
What a discovery!. Osaka is truly a slice of Japan in the middle of Brisbane's West. The ambience is warm and inviting with clean wooden finishes and little touches of Japanese culture dotted around. The food was excellent in every respect - the Mixed Tempura was wonderfully crisp and stayed that way until the last bite. The Osaka Fried Rice was good too, though it is perhaps a dish best shared as the portion is large (and served with miso). The Seafood Udon was the real deal, with a wonderfully rich dashi broth and a generous serving of prawns, scallops, squid and mussels. Delicious.
Service was friendly and food appeared quickly (though we didn't feel rushed at all).
The bonus to such a wonderful meal? A bill under $70 for drinks, entrees (edamame and gzoya) and three mains. We'll be back very soon!
Amazing food and value for money!. Osaka is a great little place offering fresh food for pretty reasonable prices! The staff are super friendly and it has a great vibe, suiting the local area as well. The dinner and lunch bento boxes are incredibly filling, and the salmon on fire special roll is possibly the best sushi I've ever tasted! Not your usual japanese restaurant but definitely recommend it!
Great addtion to Ashgrove. I love Osaka for the simple fact it is something new and different in the area. The food is pretty good; tasty and reasonable value as it the service. I think for where it is located it is spot on. I have already been there multiple times as it is convienient and quick perfect for a low key Friday night. I will definitely be back. The seafood Udon and Teriyaki chicken are both good options I am looking foward to sampling the rest of the menu.

Classy Japanese. Osaka Japanese is located in Ashgrove, which is 15 minutes away from the city. Personally, I wouldn't go back just because there are a lot of good Japanese restaurants around the city suburbs.
The service was good. The staff were attentive and friendly.
The food was good, although some portions were quite small. I thought it was a bit incosistent in portions this way, especially when the price is quite dear compared to other Japanese restaurants in the city or South Side.
As for the taste I wouldn't say that the taste is authentic Japanese. It's comparable to Wagamama's. westernised taste. It's nice, but it's not quite like the taste you'd have in Japan. I think it suits the local area though as usually it's the middle-higher working class Westerners living there (most of the other fancy restaurants, such as Medusa Dining and Mundo Churrasco are in this area).
Warm welcome from the staff followed by attentive service and great food. Just what Ashgrove needs I hope they thrive.
Good quality Japanese in the suburbs. The tempura, beef teriyaki and sushi was of a very high standard and will definitely go back for those. Edamame slightly overcooked and wasn't sold on the sashimi plate - some items didn't taste super fresh, like they'd been defrosted or something. Lovely fit out and eager to please staff,, but on the downside its location in a suburban shopping complex meant the toilets were downstairs in the car park and they weren't very clean.
Freshly ground wasabi a plus and the bento boxes looked great. A good local Japanese option for people living in Ashgrove and surrounds.
