I'm partial to papparich. This franchise is popular in Malaysia and has cemented itself as a mainstay in Australia. The roti canai curry chicken is my favourite. I love their roti, so flaky and buttery. It's truly a delight. Reasonably priced, quick and friendly service.
Remarkable restaurant. Fully Halal, great menu with lots of vegetarian mutton options. Large restaurant and great hospitality.
Great traditional food options, something for everyone. Love the ordering system
Delicious food but not always consistent
Came here for a team lunch. You can't book a table here but we did manage to get a table for 9 at lunch time the restaurant was busy but the staff did manage to get us a table. Service was great. It a smart way to order and hence why the service is fast. Our food did come out very fast. Each one of us really enjoyed our meals. Portions were huge. Flavours are amazing. It wasnt as spicy as I wanted it would be but the flavours being there made it all good. The vibe here is amazing.

Very affordable delicious Malay cuisine. Wide range of beverages as well! Roti & curry is a must try. Serving sizes are also very generous, perfect for a hungry foodie like myself !

Food Tried
➡️ Chicken Curry Meal
➡️ Chicken Tandoori
Loved the chicken curry and its flavor, the chutney and ask. What they serve a Papad too along with the meal. Comes along with a portion of rice.
Costs close to 16 $ this meal is a filler for one.
However the tandoori chicken was not worth the price and the chicken had turned hard and chewy.
Would love to. Try the Malay soup Here
The greatest aspect of PappaRich is the portion size. As my friend and I are not big eaters, we ordered the non-spicy noodles that have fish cake and prawns (I can’t remember the name) and the garlic bread with curry to share , and we were fully stuffed and satisfied afterwards. This restaurant also sometimes has EatClub deals, which gives a further reasoning to why I like it. It’s a shame that I can’t handle spicy food because majority of the foods are spicy and they look absolutely delicious.
Prawn mee and the chicken chop with rice is amazing. Staff are always helpful with the ordering system and I have always been served promptly. Can't really fault my times here.
Pretty good Malaysian restaurant with decent price. They gave quite big portion for each meal that I’ve tried.
Nasi Lemak was tasty, with hearty portion of rice and garnishes. The chicken rendang was good and fragrant, similar to what I’ve tasted in Indonesia. As a person who can’t stand spiciness, I like it that they tone down the spiciness of Malaysian food here.
I also have tried Hainan Chicken Rice and Roti Canai with Curry sauce and both were delicious as well.

This place is buzzing every day and it is worth waiting for a table. They served amazing authentic malaysian cuisine.
They have to work on their menu as it is too long with similar dishes. The customer table bell sound system can be changed to make customers have a peacefull dining experience.
I liked their food and their portion is generous.
Despite being super busy restaurant, you can take your time to order the food. They have lots of vegetarian options as well and their roti menu is quite good.
Consistently delicious and reliable Malaysian food. Fast and efficient service with door bells on their tables. Highly recommend their roti dishes.
I always enjoy their foods. Their portion is generous. This time I tried dry curry egg noodles which was too salty for me. However, I really enjoyed the steamed chicken. After trying some of their menus, crispy noodles and curry laksa (seafood) are still my fave !! Their roti telur, chicken skin are also tasty.
PappaRich located in Wintergarden is a restaurant that is always busy!
I love the unique ordering system because you can take your time to decide what you want and you will never feel rushed.
I decided to get the Roti Canai with no meat and my partner for the Roti Canai with Chicken. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Our friend had eaten prior so opted for dessert instead. He said he enjoyed his ABC dessert and juice.
I ended my meal with the Sago dessert and it was absolutely delicious, would come back for it alone.
First time at this ever-popular Malaysian outlet & we were impressed. It’s clean, simple & affordable. We joined the bustle for a quick & tasty lunch of:
• satay chicken skewers;
• Pappa wat tan hor;
• dry curry koay teow w steamed chicken;
• curry laksa (chicken).
Satay sauce was bang on, all chicken was succulent & heat levels were inoffensive - just a dance at the back of the throat.
Liked the no-nonsense buzzer service. Did not like the brutal lack of wine, not even BYO. In what world is an establishment only licensed to serve beer? And yet somehow our trio managed to adapt.
Cue tranquil, food-coma kind of afternoon. (Nothing to do with the beers I swear.)
Amazing good food at a reasonable price which you need two people to finish sometimes.
Every item is around 13-20 bucks but the sizes are quite generous.
As a Sri Lankan I quite like the taste as it’s full of flavours.
This one is a bit of a small place but can sit for good number of people.
Definitely I will re visit.
This place can get very busy but the wait is worth it. It's probably the best option for Malaysian food in the city ever since satay club closed. It is a little expensive for this type of food, but it will satisfy your cravings. I really love the banana fritter with ice cream too - sometimes I'd come just for the drinks and desserts later in the evening when its quiet.
It is ok~ went there with friends~i waited a bit long for my noodle. But i like it. Too much noodle i could not finish. The quail was good. But chicken one just so so. Also pancake, can i call it pancake? The curry sauce is good.
Had a Laksa here a few months ago. Looking around everyone seemed to be enjoying the meals and the quirky button on your table for service is a nice twist. Not the best Laksa i've ever had but certainly not the worst either. Could have been a bit spicier for my taste but can't complain overall.
I've been keen to try this spot ever since walking past and seeing a super long queue and wondering what all the fuss was about. For Friday lunch, my friends and I were lucky to get a table as the queue didn't stop the whole time we were there.
I like the ordering system of writing down the code for your chosen meal and pressing the bell when you're ready. Service was very quick, however one of our meals never arrived meaning we had to go up to the counter and check. It was questioned twice and then arrived promptly but without an apology or being removed from the bill which I thought was very disappointing.
Apart from that, the food was terrific. I chose the roti canai with beef rendang and it was loaded with flavour. The daal was delicious, sambaal was spicy but really tasty and the beef was excellent. So much flavour, I wish there'd been more of everything. The roti was obviously the star, it was delicious! I would probably order another roti or rice with it to make the meal go a little further and to mop up all the delicious juices.
All the dishes seem fairly well priced for a sit down lunch with authentic flavours and speedy service. I will definitely be back.
Fast, good but not cheap for the quantity. The service was fast and efficient but I was disappointed with the size of the plates compared with the menu portions. I had the roti with beef randang. It was ok but nothing to write home about. If I want that dish again I'll go down to Roti Place.
Came here for lunch during the week and was seated and had my order taken promptly. Ordered a chicken curry & prawn dish from their favourites menu. The food came out quickly and it was delicious - a little bit spicy, with great sides of fried anchovies and fresh cucumber. This hidden restaurant is popular for good reason.
If you want authentic Malaysian food this is the place to come. They are so consistent with all their dishes. Must try their Roti Canai and chicken rice! The chicken rice is served steamed and juicy with fluffy rice and the dressing is balanced perfectly. Sweet, salty and sour. Also love their milo drink.
Have been here a couple of times now both have been great! First time tried the Roti Canai and it was sensational flavour wise! Food always comes out fast, reasonable price and delicious! It's nice being able to experience Malaysian cuisine in the city, especially seeing as there aren't that many Malay style restaurants in Brisbane
My first Malaysian meal. Went with couple of my Asian friends. It was good place to walk-in. But could get busy at times. Not really a big place .Wanted to try couple of dishes so ordered toasted Bread with Kaya , Roti canai with chicken curry, Nasi Lemak with fried chicken, Egg sago pudding
Every dish was right in flavour and perfectly cooked.
The bread was so good with kaya 👍🏼
I didn’t like the skin on chicken remaining all perfect. Best place for lunch/dinner Give it a try. You will love it
Being a Malaysian, I always feel home whenever I indulge in their food. From Nasi Lemak, to Curry Noodles and Laksa to Mee Goreng; everything is good! Service is fast, staff is helpful and food quality and quantity is great. We took a few friends to give it a shot, and they absolutely fell in love with the food! Most Asian restaurant are priced between $12-13.50 however here is flat $15.50 for most dishes.
If your looking for guaranteed consistently good tasting malaysian food pappa rich us the place to go. We had the crispy chicken skin was a great starter, can be a little salty but a glass of iced matcha will help counter this issue. The curry chicken nasi lemak had alot of elements that make up you standard malaysian dishes. The curry sauce was nice and smooth. Chicken super tender. Overall a good reliable meal. It is set up for high turnover so you ring the bell and hand them your order, but it works well if you teally hungry.
I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner. Staff are always attentive even at times that they're clearly quite busy. Not going to lie, I like the condensed milk on toast the best here. And that sugary, buttery goodness.. I know. I can make this at home, but it's not the same! I also especially enjoy their chicken chop. Satisfies all the cravings and hits the spot every time.
Amazing service even when packed to the brim. Food is so good it makes those outside the restaurant eating somewhere else wanna come to Papparich instead! Drinks are fabulous too. Roti is a carby droolworthy heavenly dream. I had my birthday here and was thoroughly impressed. I will always recommend this place.
I quite liked this place. Ordered beef rendang and a chicken curry dish with a lime soda type drink. The food was delicious as were the drinks. Service was good and food came out promptly. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Pappa Rich has been a popular eatery at Brisbane CBD since opening in 2015. The restaurant specialized in a large selection of Malaysian cuisine, specialty drinks and desserts. We were there for Friday lunch and ordered: plain roti (x2), Ipoh koay teow soup with steamed chicken, Nasi lemak with fried chicken and Tek C special milk tea.
The plain roti arrived within 15min. The freshly made roti presents an appetising golden crust with strong buttery scent. Taste was on the sweet and buttery side with right amount of chewy vs softness. Although traditionally it’s ordered with curry sauce but we find the roti already flavourful enough to be eaten plain. 4.5/5
Ipoh koay teow soup with steamed chicken was up next. The set contains a bowl of flat rice noodle in prawn and chicken soup and a plate of chopped steamed chicken. The soup base was seasoned to perfection, well cooked with strong prawn & hints of chicken broth flavours. Paired with the delicious rice noodle, you have a bowl of happiness great for a cold winter day. The steamed chicken on the other hand lacked flavour and quite dry and boring. 3.5/5
Nasi lemak was the last dish to arrive with fried chicken leg, fried anchovies, peanuts, 1/2 boiled egg, cucumber slices and spicy sambal. The chicken was crispy and juicy with hints of Malay spices. The sambal was fragrant but lacked the chilli punch. Rice was perfectly cooked with strong coconut scent. The fried anchovies and peanuts however, were on the stale side. 3.5/5
Tek C is a tri coloured milk tea with caramel syrup. Taste wise is on the overly sweet side but did not overpower the fragrant black tea. 3.5/5
Overall service was good for a weekday lunch. Call buzzer system was utilized and we were always attended to within 1min. A kinder attitude and less robotic response to questions would be a nicer touch. 3.5/5
Hint: Their roti, soup noodle and rice varieties are worth a try. Stir fried dishes sampled so far is a 3/5.
Today we didn't have any food but we decided to order two drinks for takeaway, the matcha rocks and the coconut paradise.
The matcha rocks was okay but a bit too thick and kinda hard to drink until melted a bit. It had some nice matcha flavour but the red beans gave it some weird texture. Would rate it 3/5.
Otherwise the coconut paradise was good and the coconut flesh made it quite interesting. Couldn't taste any mint but was still quite a refreshing drink which I would rate 4/5.
Food: The roti canai was very tasty, however, the vegetarian char koay teow was available. :S Both of the drinks were good and not overly sweet.
Price: Around $40 for 2 people
A nice restaurant for having some quick food. A casual dining place :)
One of my favourite places for a perfect full meal. Yummy Asian food #malaysian is my new favourite cuisine. The service is super fast. The one place that makes you visit again and again
Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang- this dish is so tasteful and full of flavors, the only fault I find is that the rice was a bit too salty...I've also had a taste of my friend's Hainan Chicken Rice and that was done much better but otherwise this is a pretty good dish since all other things on there are done pretty well😋😋
Cannot fault the food here, service is speedy though it should be noted that their portions are huge! Great family restaurant as their is something on the menu for everyone, their drinks menu is also great!
Been here a couple times and have tried a number of different dishes- really enjoyed "Papa Fried Me " chicken and prawn dish extra spicy blew me away! chicken and prawn were perfectly cooked - only thing we wanted to add was wish it was actually SPICY!
Quick service and cheap feed. Beef rendang was quite good. Juices are great. Concept of writing your own order is interesting but works well. Would come here again.
The roti here is great and is less greasy than the ones at some restaurants in the city. The service is good and the waitresses are very friendly and helpful especially if it is your first time to the restaurant and do not know how to work with their ordering method. The specials are always worth considering. The place can be quite packed and the queue can be very long at times but if time is not of essence then this place is definitely worth a visit or two!
Been here a few times and tried a number of dishes. Wan Tan Hor was the only dish keeping me coming back to Pappa Rich. This noodle dish in a silky egg-based sauce hit all the right notes. The back sesame drink was rich and creamy. Overall Papparich offered Quite a variety of dishes, reasonable prices , an acceptable service and a lively atmosphere.

My wife and I have been to PappaRich on several occasions in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore - great coffee, roti and toast sets. Inexpensive food served quickly at it's finest!
Have been looking forward to trying their Brisbane outlet and finally had the chance.
The Pappa White Coffee (iced) was awesome - just like they serve in Malaysia - 5 out of 5.
The Roti Canai was perfect - 4.5 out of 5.
We both had Chicken Curry, which was good but not great - 3.5 out of 5. A nice little mild burn to the curry which was pleasant.
The Steamed Mantau was ok, but nothing special - 3 out of 5.
The coffee and the Roti Canai absolutely made this meal. Service was rapid and the bill was small - $33 for two. Would happily return.
This place was highly recommended by a friend so I made a point to check it out. Indicative of a good restaurant is the number of people inside. In this case, outside too as the queue was almost as long as Rapunzel's hair. The servers were great with their warm smiles, but, the girl at the counter looked very pissed and not happy to be there. She's also the same person to go around inserting your bill in the condiments stand and taking away your menu, and she did so like a jail warden. Whatever positive vibe and rapport the servers managed to build, she has ruined. I had the chicken skin ($7.50) which was phenomenal, and the special fried rice with fried chicken ($17.50). I've had less oily fried rice, but the chicken was well cooked. Golden crisped to perfection. Then I finished with "matcha rocks" ($7.90) and I was blown away. How good was that marriage with the matcha and the red beans! This dessert made me very happy. Then I had to face the grumpy cashier lady again. LoL! I can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
One of the must try here is the fish head noodle, if you like this dish. They use real fish head instead of bass fillet like most other places. The amount of fish is generous, fresh, nicely deep fried. Broth is good and not too salty, which often can be a problem with a lot of Chinese restaurants. Roti are good as well, nice and fluffy. Will be returning soon...
🍚Nasi Lemak with curry chicken: comes with aromatic coconut milk infused steamed rice served with curry chicken, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, hard boiled egg, our delicious daily made spicy sambal and cucumber slices ($14.90)🍹
✔Coconut rice had a beautiful uplifting fragrance.
✔Perfect combo dish. ✔Sambal sauce was on-point. Spicy but not too spicy.
✔Chicken was cooked nicely.
✔Recommended meal☺
🍹Red bean icy drink ($6) 😌👍
✔Ingredients evenly blended.
✔Great for a hot day, quenches your thirsts.
✔Red bean taste was yummy, wasn't too sweet

Great place in the city with a variety of food and done well. Brings authentic Malaysian food to Brisbane and done well. The paratas are really nice. The curry chicken done well and the noodles are awesome. The tandoori chicken is slightly different in taste but done well.
Crispy chicken skin, a must try for people who love all things fried. Laksa as well as the ho fun were average, nothing amazing. Fav dessert here was the lychee shaved ice with grassy jelly which was refreshing and had the right amount of sweet.
Finished early from a business party at Hilton Hotel last Saturday and took the lift down to Wintergarden. My glance was caught by the crowd of people sitting in this eatery, which reminded me the time that I had the snack at its sibling while I was travelling in Kuala Lumpur. It was glad to see that I could try its food again in Brisbane. We were so lucky to have a table just outside the door and ordered the Steamed Mantau w/Kaya, Chicken Congee w/ Steamed Chicken, Mixed Satay, Papa White coffee + Jelly and the Teh Tarik (Hot milk Tea). Mantau was so soft that matched with the Kaya...Yummy. Steamed Chicken was not bad but slightly overdone and not as smooth in texture as Hainan Chicken, however the congee deserved thumb up with perfect thickness of rices and traces of chicken taste. Mixed satay was average. Well, the drinks earned lots of marks, where the coffee was strong with traditional Malaysian coffee taste and the Teh Tarik was the best that I had of the similar kind of drinks. I will definitely return to try the other food serving in the menu....
A bit expensive for what they are asking for. I ordered a noodle soup and it was like $15. But was okay food. I would recommend it to my friends
Conveniently located upstairs at Wintergarden in Brisbane CBD and looks like a schmick little set up. The food is good but not great (probably some of the best Malaysian cuisine available in Brisbane which is not saying much). I usually enjoy the nasi lemak here.
One huge plus point is that the stir fries and fried noodles dishes are not super oily like other Malaysian and Singaporean restaurants in Brisbane, but when it comes to flavour for certain dishes, there's a couple of places I would rate higher. Nevertheless, this is a good allrounder for Malaysian cuisine with reasonable service.
Today Thursday 20/10/2016 14:00 i was having lunch with my friends there.. I really like the food.. and also they serve really quick and delicious food.. very recommended food..
BUT, I'm very very very disappointed with one of the waitress. She really no manner.. she is the worst Waitress i ever met since i arrived in Brisbane ! the case is when We finish our meal.. we walked to pay.. she not even said anything not smile not greet not say any word.. the first word out from her mouth was "Fourty thirty". not even say please or thank you.. only "Fourty thirty"
can you imagine how i feel?? i never expect good service at all.. this people really don't have manners... i was working in services hospitality industry.. and I really understand how to treat my customer.. the point is i was very very disappointed with her service.. she don't have manners at all...
Normally i never complain and never ever wanna put bad review to the restaurant.. but today I can't hold it.. i still give you good rate for the food.. there's plenty people out there need job and she not deserve to be waitress.. very bad attitude !

May be it's the extra cat in the dish but that Sultan Nasi sure make a good nasi lemak among his great achievements like the great wall of china. No wonder the Sultan is rich, with the prices he charge ... Wooowee .. It's like robbery by The Great Pirate WangChung of Singapore in 1873 when he came upon a horde of treasure in Batavia guarded by 15 2yo wielding lollipops.
This place is always packed and has a great atmosphere so be prepared to wait for a table. The food is flavoursome and the tastes match up to what I ate in Malaysia but it's far more oily here, especially the roti dishes. The service can be a little slow but that comes with new and busy restaurants. I would recommend the roti canai with beef rendang and teh tarik.
Went here with a group of friends on Tuesday night. The place is quite nice, modern and neat. You have to write down your order from a paper, which I didn't mind. I ordered the Roti Telur with Beef Rendang ($15.50), they gave me the wrong one at first without beef, but quickly resolved it. I didn't know that the roti had egg in it which is ugh! But other than that, I was full and it was a satisfying meal. Overall, reasonable food prices, service and the food came out quick. The black sesame drink ($7.90) was worth it! It was not too sweet. Tasted like dessert, what a treat!
Regret: Not getting the Roti Canai which is the bread without the eggs and onions I originally came for. However, will happily return.
Papparich is conveniently located in Wintergarden and with an extensive menu filled with a wide range of dishes ranging from Indonesian, Malaysian and Chinese, it also allows you to browse through beautifully photographed food dishes. How it works is that each of the items in the menu are numbered and for you to order, you would need to jot down the dish or drink numbers using a pencil given to you on their order notepad. Afterwards, just press the button on your table and wait for the waiter to collect your order. Simple and easy, allowing less disturbance in being interrupted continuously if you're ready to order and also less confusion and wrong ordering.
Wide range of authentic Malaysian food. Their noodle soup dishes are always huge and amazing. The chicken for chicken rice is soft and juicy. The only annoying thing is that sometimes you have to line up to get in. I'd say if the wait is less than 10mins, it's definitely worth it.
Crazy long queue on a Friday night but that's because there were lots of groups of 2+ and the larger tables are at a premium. No worries though as the food didn't take long to be made.
Went with a few roti canai dishes, a laksa (huge and spicy!) and some noodles. Very satisfying though had to send some rotis back as they were a bit underdone. The drinks are spot on and you can't go wrong with any of them though the teh tarik is a bit small for the price!
Price is right. Food is excellent. Worth the queues if you run into them.
I LOVE this place! Huge range of authentic Malaysian dishes and drinks. I can't wait to keep coming back. I wish they would open on the southside.
Have tried the Har Mee and Rendang dishes as well as sago pudding. YUMMO
Was I back in Malaysia? It felt like I was! From the ordering system, prompt but sufficiently courteous service, super fast deliver of food and the menu!!! Very hawker style menu which just brings back memories of home!
Admittedly, the quality of food wasn't as good as the dishes we get back in Malaysia namely Ipoh, but it's on par with my expectations.
Ordered roti with curry chicken, a rice dish with curry chicken and sambal prawns as well as chicken and beef satay. Roti dish was good. Rice was a little overdone and the sambal prawns were average. The satay wasn't overly good but acceptable given there isn't an open fire grill like we have back in Malaysia.
The ice kacang was a little underwhelming though.
Must say I'm excited to go back and try more dishes!!!
By the way, don't be turned away by the queue. It diminishes really quickly because everyone get served quickly and eats quickly!!!
Been here multiple times and I still love it! They have a large variety of Malaysian cuisine and large portions to top it off, what more can I say. I highly recommend this place if you're in the city.
