Review Charlie's Raw Squeeze - Brisbane

c j
The regular morning smoothie stop, with most items vegan and dairy free. The old smoothie menu was much better but its still one the best snoothie options around. Bowls and other healthy snacks made to order or quick from the cabinet.

Great breakfast bowls and coffee! I haven't been here for 6 years..... And nothing has changed! Still great service with a smile, still great food, still a great atmosphere.
Amy Batticciotto
Almost a 20 min wait for a juice and a smoothie with no apology until I mentioned that they really need to be aware of these things & apologise to their customers. Being understaffed is fair enough however staff need to be attentive on the wait time & more empathetic. Update: 1. My review was in regard to how staff didn’t acknowledge the long wait time. I already mentioned I understand that you were understaffed, it doesn’t mean that along with the long wait, comes low quality service. Good quality service overcomes a long wait time. 2. Yes, I received an extra brownie which was appreciated and the smoothie was upgraded however there was a baseball size of unblended frozen banana on the bottom of the cup so that pushed the volume up a lot (I didn’t want to mention it previously as the focus was on point 1) I truly hope my review is taken onboard by the team being a local business owner myself in the hospitality industry.

Look no further for tasty, nutritious meals in a relaxed setting, with excellent service, and opening hours that will never inconvenience you. I have made something of a ritual of visiting weekly for a smoothie bowl and juice!

I go here at least once a week and my god it is worth every cent! Super fresh and yummy! Buy everything from here instead of coles because it tastes that much better and you actually get a smile at the check out! Give this local business a go !

This is literally a heavenly coffee - temperature, taste, ready to drink straight away and boom the afternoon fade is gone!

We shop here weekly and when we recently got covid was so happy to see we could get delivery! The quality was amazing! Always a great place to visit.

Sooooo yum 😋 Absolutely amazing! Incredible selection, all #plant-powered (#vegan) with heaps of #glutenfree options. Plus the little shop has a great selection of plant meats, cheezes and much more. We'll be back 💖

Love the Acai bowl with gelato. The gelato is SO GOOD. I wish they had more fresh fruit with it though. Comes with dry goji berries, frozen blueberries, some raspberries that are almost like a sauce and fresh kiwi fruit. I also love the salted caramel smoothie which comes with gelato at the bottom.

Food = 100% beautiful and fresh. However it was let down a bit as the tables were grubby and there was food and rubbish on the floor in the eating area. NOTE: It hasn't put me off coming back. Just be prepared. Love the fruit and vege set up. Brilliant.
Vik
Great for the QLD climate, just fantastically fruit produce and health guilt free food. You can do you fruit and veg shopping while you wait for your bowl, shakes or juices. Pretty straight forward stuff.

Simple, fresh, healthy, easy

overall: 3.4/5
gluten free options: 4.5/5
food taste: 3/5
ambience: 3.5/5
customer service: 3/5
pricing vs quality: 3/5

i’ve always heard great things abt charlie’s so i was keen to check them out. unfortunately they’ve apparently changed the sizes of their bowls so it’s smaller even though it’s the same price :( a lot of their food is gluten free and dairy free tho which is great.

superfood açai bowl: normally when i see superfood i think goji berries, chia seeds, the like etc. but this was just an ordinary açai bowl??? it was just kiwis, bananas, strawberries, and some granola on top of a minimal amount of açai. legit made me sad seeing how small the bowl was. i could’ve just went and bought a kilo of strawberries and i would’ve been happier LOL that being said, each element was decent enough that i wasn’t too bitter abt it. the fruit was fresh. granola was crunchy altho kinda bland. nothing screamed superfood abt it 🤔 just your usual açai bowl.

strawberry cake didn’t really taste like strawberry to me... there was a bliss ball on top but i couldn’t even pinpoint the flavour. the base was also very bliss ball-like LOL uhhh... kinda like a bounty but less chocolatey??? i got bored after one mouthful but kept eating it since i paid for it LOL the good thing is that it wasn’t super sweet. it had the texture of a cheesecake that was obviously not made from dairy. i didn’t like it per se but i didn’t hate it either. it did make me wish i had gotten a different cake tho hmm

ambience wise, they have some board games to play although they looked well loved (read: very used) so i was fine not touching them. it’s a nice place to hang out with friends and it has an adjacent fruit store. i would be keen to try out their other things... but probs gonna be a no from me on their açai bowl. would probs try their other cakes.

customer service was decent. not out of the world. i was kinda put off by the fact that they left their jars of powders for food/drinks out in the open and close to customers so anything could easily land in there including spit, insects etc. but then again, i’m also a very very strict person when it comes to hygiene etc LOL hopefully just a one time thing hm

pricing was in the decent to expensive range. strawberry cake was a mediocre slice for $9... but it was free from many allergens so i guess it’s an ok price. i have tasted better cakes tho so eh... it looked nice at least. the açai bowl was imo a ripoff considering how small the bowl was and i wouldn’t get it again. i’ll probably try their gelato or fruit cocktails next time (if there is a next time...)

Love their gluten free cupcakes but hard to get them so tend to just go to Veganyumm instead. Nice atmosphere, average juices and slices but love the long opening hours.

Sadly they aren't 24/7 anymore. Great place to go when you feel like a healthy snack. Acai bowls never disappoint regardless of which one you choose, my favourite is the snickers bowl and adding gelato and chocolate sauce on top. Not a big fan of their premade meals or their cabinet food.
Jovie Marie
100% Vegan, Open 24/7 ~ what's not to love! The menu can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you can always check it out online first at their website. It's under the same roof as the Fruit Market and Grocery area, so perfect for a stop in when on North Side to fill up and stock up 💚 It's where I first fell in love with Charlie's!
Madeleine Scerri
Fantastic juice bar/cafe- vegan heaven! The smoothies are amazing and you can upgrade to add a raw treat. My favourite is the cookies and cream shake.

Lumr
Bad service, even if you order the easiest thing it takes them 30 mins to make it. It's nice that there is a vegan option in the burbs but sadly not worth your time.
Mkelleher296
The sambazon bowl (left: ordered without granola) is an all time favourite acai bowl for me. Thickest acai I have ever had which I love!! Service is polite but the product is exceptional. So convenient for late night cravings with the 24/7 opening hours!

Great healthy food readily available for those moments when you need a quick lunch. Lots of Yummy nice cream and other healthy delicious treats.

Been coming here for years, great selection of smoothies, cakes and raw slices. Service is always great, a little on the pricey side but worth it in my opinion for organic and vegan ingredients. Acai bowls and nice creams are the best.
Natasha Argue
Amazing! Have been here heaps and am never disappointed. Can be quite along wait but this is to be expected at everything is made fresh to order and they are always so busy. Dragon bowl is my absolute favourite, generous portion size and plenty of yummy toppings. Also love the salted caramel nice cream, so so delicious and filling. Raw treats available are also a great add on or great with a coffee. And the gelato is something else, so addictive! Love this place!

I am only reviewing Charlie's based on the juice and smoothie I had. The juice was a lean green and the smoothie was the Hulk.

Lean Green was pretty good but terribly overpriced. The hulk for OK but again was terribly overpriced. 21.00 for a juice and a smoothie.....seriously?

The staff seemed disinterested and an example of such was that my juice was made and sat there for a number of minutes while my smoothie was made but not just that, I then had to wait while the lady made another juice ahead of my making my smoothie. The juice separated and she made no effort to mix it. The straws are too narrow so when trying to drink your smoothie it nearly impossible.

Charlies promote themselves as "Vegan" central and as a result capitalise on this phenomenon that makes everything stupidly expensive. I make juices and smoothies daily at home and know how much they cost to make and this place is an utter rip-off. Call your bank manager before visiting as you may need a loan!

Food you'd Punch a Baby For
Great food, very friendly staff (shoutout to Rach). Been there a few times now and I can't complain about anything. Only downside is that the waiting time can be long depending on how busy it is (I've waited up to 40mins for a bowl). It is also a bit of a kick in the pocket but what can you expect from the Health-food industry. Overall a great spot for the family or occasional date! Would come again.

I love Charlie's! Always amazing and the quality is fantastic. Healthy and delicious food! Staff are really friendly and are happy to alter the menu for you based on what you like. The gelato is so yummy and as a $2 add on you cannot go wrong! They have a wide range of vegan treats, slices, salads and wraps. Fantastic deals always happening; including falafel Friday and thirsty Thursdays, as well as all their social media specials which really encourages me to try new things. They have both dine in and take away and menu options suitable for any time of day (literally any - they are open 24/7). Great atmosphere and good place to meet up with friends. Can get really busy so it can sometimes take a fair amount of time to get your bowls but other than that I can hardly fault Charlie's Raw Squeeze!

I was very keen on trying the cake selection, ordered a Toblerone slice. It was a bit pricey compared to relevant shops around at $8 but I tried it nevertheless. It had absolutely NO flavour or distiguishable taste or tasted like anything remotely resembling Toblerone at all. The smoothie with banana and coffee was even more bland and went straight to the bin after two bland mouthfulls. The biggest ripoff at $32 for the two of us. I will stick to the lovely fruit and veggies from now on.....

So good ! And 24 hours !
Tried this place out the other night and bought some groceries and tried the oreo nicecream and it was SO good ! Completely exceeded my expectations !

Theres a great variety of groceries and fresh fruits and vegetables. I bought the beetroot hummus and garlic Lebanese bread to snack on at home (highly recommend for a healthy snack!) and some other fruits. So far, all fruits have been great quality (ie no surprises like rotten insides)

Will be back soon to try the other cafe treats !!

I loved Charlie's raw squeeze the first time I went. I had the bubblegum squeeze bowl which was fresh and delicious while my friend had a popcorn gelato which she said was ok but she wouldn't reorder. This second time I went I had the charlies chocolate factory gelato which was not enjoyable at all. It was basically 6 dry Oreos with some coconut cream on the top for $12!! So the moral of the story is don't get the gelatos but everything else is pretty good
Edibleflower1000
Love Charlie's ! Its tasty, healthy and so so convenient to get to on my morning walk. Great place to meet with friends. The peanut butter acai bowl would have to be my jam, I love it and the vegan cupcakes are to die for. If you can try the fairybread flavour or the peanut butter and jam one. Me and my friend can get enough and love treating ourselves with the goodies. The fresh produce is also amazing and you can guarantee you will find better quality and prices compared to other supermarkets. The staff are always pleasant and full of energy. I love this place and what they are doing business wise is working wonders for them. 👌🏼

Great store!
I love their peanut butter bowl 😍 great juices, smoothies, and awesome coffee.
The retail outlet is awesome and has now been totally veganised 😍
A little expensive but great for a treat. The have some great products.

A busy store as they have a huge fresh f&v store and groceries also. Great smoothie / juice selection, Raw salads and desserts. Plenty of parking out the front with a quick turnover of patrons

I love Charlie's and go here often for their acai bowls & delicious raw treats. The staff are always friendly & accommodating to any special requests. The only mark down is for price... It's quite pricey for what you get. Having said that I keep going back so they're doing something right!

Having a juice bar at a fruit shop just makes sense and Charlie's does it brilliantly. The staff are friendly and helpful and the choc banana smoothie with almond milk is possibly the best I've ever tasted.

Today I had the black bean falafel salad. The falafel a were quite dry but the rest of the salad was delicious.

The energy balls are also lovely. I loved the peanut butter one! The environment is really casual with lots of furniture made from pallets and other recycled timber which just adds to the atmosphere.

Excellent fruit market with a great cafe attached. The 'healthy' options, acai bowls and juices are all super and this is a regular stop off point for us. The prices though are premium and not necessarily value for money....
Sahrendipity
The bowls and smoothies here are the tastiest in Brisbane. Service speed is improving as the shop adjusts to demand, but still expect a 20 minute wait for anything.
I Love Gum Boots
Have been to Charlies countless times considering it is a good healthy option that is open late. But it seems that every time I get something it tastes different and the wait is almost unbearable. I understand it takes a little longer to make but they really need a faster system as 30 minutes is not okay. Also, the customer service is terrible and the bowls are very expensive for what you get. I've had the green bowl a number of times and this time it was so sour i couldn't eat it

Amazing food and sneaky treats that you can have without it killing your conscience! The taco bowl is so tasty and very very filling! The nicecream is so delicious, alongside the raw chocolate drizzled on top.. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasty, cruelty-free feed :~)

I got the bubblegum acai bowl. It was very refreshing. It had acai, dragonfruit, kiwi fruit, bananas and granola / oats in it. The juice bar itself is actually located in the fruitshop and I was told this one at Everton park is open 24/7 which is fantastic considering most superfood places around Brisbane close much earlier than that!
Hungrylouisa
Came here to try the acai bowls and was not disappointed. The fruit was fresh and beautifully presented. Such a smart concept to have a juice bar in a fruit shop! Take note that there might be a 10-15 minute wait as this place can get quite busy.
AnitaOnChi
Big fans of the people at Charlie's Fruit Market - and what a brilliant concept just at the fruit store! Delicious fresh acas bowls, and they are not shy about all the fruit toppings. This morning, mine had dragon fruit, mango, coconut, and banana. Best value Acai bowls in Brisbane! However be prepared for the 15 minute wait for your yummy bowl #worthit

Calling all fresh juice lovers!!! juice and the acai bowls are to die for!!!! It super busy and sometimes hard to get a park but well worth the trip!!! The staff are super friendly and very helpful!! The display food is all vegan and raw which is amazing!!!

After a game of Hockey, I needed a nice morning tea. I had two protein balls ( one choc one peanut butter) and a hot chocolate. The protein balls were a good, tasty guilt-free treat although they were bland. The hot chocolate was very tasty but it burnt my tongue. Charlie's Fruit Market was very nice and has 'ugly fruit and veges' that supermarkets won't accept. I recommend this place highly.

My friends and I visited after being recommended. We all bought different flavours of the nice cream for that night. However, what we got was much different from expected. It didn't taste like or have the texture of ice cream or cream at all. It was more like a fruit slushie with vegan chocolate and toppings for those that purchased the add on. Overall we were quite disappointed but we have hope in the fruit and acai bowls so we will go back and try that nice time.

This loses 1/2 star only because it's so popular there's always a queue :) Lovely staff and the best smoothies. Only wish they would have a smaller size as they are extremely filling, YUM!!
The Tasty Plate
I love Charlies Raw Squeeze and it's such a clever idea opening a smoothie bar in a fruit shop! Raw Squeeze has a great selection of juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls and lots and lots of raw vegan sweet treats. The acai bowls from Raw Squeeze are some of the best you will get in Brisbane.

I used to love the Raw Squeeze Cafe but after frequent visitation I'm finding I'm constantly more disappointed than anything. There is no consistency to the recipes, every time I get something, its extremely different, even to the point that I can't eat/drink the item because it is too sweet/bitter/sour/whatever. I've also been given the wrong item multiple times. Also, they need a better system than yelling out names because I have had my items taken before (which were replaced thankfully). Raw Squeeze definitely has some kinks to work out.

Stones corner store :
I've given it the benefit of the doubt during setup etc. However now after multiple visits in extremely disappointed with the customer service, and willingness to adapt. Multiple times i have asked for an item to be made without cacao as i can't have it each time i get handfuls of the nibs thrown in top for smoothies and bowls etc.
I should not have to specify no nibs if I've already given the specification of no cacao is the overall item i cant consume. Then I'm made to feel bad because the staff screwed up (again) my post get remade but always comes out inferior to the original, smoothie mixes not even thick in a bowl this means i need a straw to consume and when I've asked for a smoothie things come out watery n flavorless. Where at least the first item i was handed had substance (thickness) to it.
I won't be returning to the store there are friendly and more willing locations near by that will get my business instead. Disappointing considering i know a few people who love the eveton park store but it appears that the service levels have not be transferred to the newest addition in the chain.

Great service, tasty salads and awesome juices. I wish I could take a photo of my food but I've already eaten it all!! Definitely will be back again!

Amazing, fun filled fruit deliciousness, I love Charlies fruit bowls, packed with just cut bananas, mango, blueberries, granola and on it goes. So good.

Charlie’s Raw Squeeze has recently popped up numerous times recently on the #brisbaneblogger hastag! I had never heard of them before but this dark horse was getting so many great reviews I had no choice but to check it out. It is so rare to find somewhere that is open late in Brisbane let alone 24 hours!

Cannot speak more highly of this place! Just down the road from me, it's easy to drop in for some healthy, nutritious food. I can never go past the incredible peanut butter bowls, and am constantly impressed by the level of care the staff put into making them.

I'm addicted!
Iluvjunkfood
Best fruit bowls in town.. I have tried the Acai bowl, Dragon and Mango bowls. The dragon bowl is my personal favourite but the other two fruit bowls are equally as good. These fruit bowls have the best consistency hands down and I love the generous amounts of nuts and fresh fruits added.
Paige
Best smoothie bowls ever! Topped with heaps of fruit and the nuts/granola/whatever is amaaaazing! Love the addition of mango at the bottom of the acai bowl - totally adds to the flavour and texture. Great service as well! Heaps of vegan milk options for coffee and lots of raw food too.

Best acai bowls ever. This raw food bar is absolutely awesome and the acai bowl we tried the other day was to die for. Really generous serve and so delicious.
