Review Vietnamese Mint - Brisbane

Very nice. Pad Thai chicken & chicken & basil. Wonderful. Very friendly & helpful staff. Highly recommend 👌 😋🇻🇳

Had a good time here, honestly it seems more like a “pan-Asian” restaurant than a specifically viet place, but quantities are hearty, ingredients fresh enough, and the staff are accomodating. Pricing is pretty fair - I would come here again!

First visit today, I had Singapore noodles, husband had Satay Chicken. Servings were very generous, tasteful and delicious. Very helpful girl who served us, as we requested not too spicy. Bonus was the green tea in a thermos nice and hot till the end. Thank you for a delicious lunch, we look forward to a return visit.

Great service, fabulous food - fast and incredible flavours. Highly rate the Seafood Laksa 🌶 🌶 Some Vegetarian and GF options but they’ll adjust the menu where possible 🍃 🌾

Friendly staff, food was super fresh. Pho portion was massive :)

Have ordered the satay noodles for the last few years and always been tasty and saucy. Last week dry and bland with no satay flavour. Thought it was a one off and a bad night, but no same this week! Time to move on…

Tried Vietnamese mint for second,as always had a great experience. A perfect team of FOH and same with kitchen. Food was tasty fast and big protein for how much you pay. If are around oxfords street and want try new taste 👅 please visit this place. You will have a great experience.

VIETNAMESE SPRING ROLLS salad is good, as expected.

The chicken satay noodles, bland and tasteless. 4 small pieces of chicken and very little vegetables.. woeful experience.

We ordered a special Pho today, the soup taste so sweet, like add to much MSG. The slide beef was over cooked and blank, really disappointed.

This is our go-to for pho in the inner east of Brisbane. It is consistently the better option of the few places in neighbouring areas. It did not disappoint when we fulfilled our pho craving there again today. We got the regular pho (there is a "special" version that adds brisket). Beautiful flavoursome broth with paper thin rare beef that wasn't fatty or gristley as we have found in the past at some other places. Served with lemon, bean sprouts and thai basil on the side and a range of condiments to add as you see fit. I also really love the young coconut juice - so refreshing and the right hit of sweetness after the savoury flavours of the pho.

Had high hopes entering this restaurant as it was always busy!! The pho and chicken satay noodles were ordered, and it was horrible. The pho looked terrible, not only did it have chunky red onion bits floating in it but the meat looked off greyish and furry. Could hardly have 2 bites of the meal.. The satay chicken lacked flavour and variety and looked like it had just been thrown on a plate... Both meals were barely touched and it was a shame $40 was wasted on the worst meals we have ever had.

I’ve been meaning to visit Vietnamese Mint in Bulimba since it opened. As you should all know by know, I am an absolute pho-fiend and love trying all there is in Brisbane. And around the world for that matter!. Anyway I heard that Vietnamese Mint had created some pretty funky and interesting salads so I went in to check them out. I ordered both (naturally) and a pho (obviously) and was impressed by all three! The Unicorn noodle salad was chicken based with a traditional vietnamese salad mix but with noodles infused with natural food colouring to make them look just like what a Unicorn would delicately eat before prancing about. The Magic noodel salad (my favourite) was a thai beef salad with noodles infused with Butterfly Pea Flower! They were gorgeous and blue. What I loved most about them, was that while they were fun and beautiful, they both still maintained their authentic, fresh salad flavours.

Good Char Kwe Teow and Seafood Laksa.

Pho was average for a vietnamese restaurant but the two above was cooked to my liking.

ps: if you like spicy, you can request them to cool it with fresh chillies.

THE BEST ICED TEAS
Seriously so in love with the drinks they make.
The food is great too with plenty of options and you can get almost everything vegetarian.
Personally wasn't a fan of the virmicelli noodle salad but my partner loved his.
The Other Jenners
God I love this place. Their Vermicelli Lemongrass Chicken bowls are so filling and the perfect dish when you're planning on having snacks during a movie next door. Service is always friendly and prices are pretty good for Oxford St. Portion size on "main dishes" can be a little hit and miss but the flavours pack a punch.
Cleo
I love this place. Nice friendly service, tasty food and good pricing. We always get satay chicken noodles and spring rolls and they never disappoint! 😊
Lily Sumner
I ordered the Pho and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Laksa. Very delicious and very filling- great value as they were only $12.95 each!! I actually preferred the Chicken Laksa, it said spicy on the menu but it's a very mild spice. Happy overall.

Possibly the best Vietnamese in Brisbane's eastern suburbs. I wouldn't mind slightly less noodles and a little more broth in their Pho but it's always a great meal. It's also quick and affordable.
Dommo
Absolute rubbish. Ordered the beef pho soup for the second time, and was so disappointed. Must be powdered broth, and not a traditional bone broth. Salty water. Don't bother!

Mum wanted something light instead of the pizza place up the street so we went here. She had the brisket soup and I had the lemongrass chicken salad. Unfortunately both dishes were completely lacking in any flavour. Bland is too generous- this food was less than bland. We asked for our money back but the "chef" refused. Will never return. Save your money and get a tub of gelato from the place across the street.

Always a good go to if you live locally. Fast, fresh and tasty food. The staff and attentive and the pho is tasty. Definitely a nice addition to the area.

AMAZING FOOD! Nice simple restaurant with delicious salads and ice teas.
Lovely staff and nice vibe. This place is our go to for a good clean affordable eat and family friendly.
We take all our guests here and they all love it.

I really wish they would bring back the Banh Mi that they had when in their last location in Morningside. We used to go every week there. We only go every month or so now due to the lack of Banh Mi. So now we venture further afield.

Good & fast Vietnamese food. The Singapore noodles are delicious. Have been here a few times now and every time has been good. Very friendly staff and it is a cute little place. Can do quite a bit gluten free.

I really enjoyed the chow from this Bulimba dig; my wife did not. The spring rolls were unbelievable. Solid rice paper rolls. The fried tofu was super oily, which was a bummer as that was main course for the special lady. My seafood laksa was hefty, with delicious prawns that were perfectly cooked. The laksa could have been a little spicier, but I'm a chilli monster so I understand my tolerance is higher than the norm. Bubble teas available in-house a very nice touch. Exceptional value.

Food was so quick here forgot to take any photos! The salad was fresh, crunchy and not overloaded with soggy vermicelli like a lot can be. Chicken pho was a bit boring, but they had a lychee soda which was so refreshing in the heat.
Sarah Peters
What a waste of money, I will never return. Food was really lacking and everything came with commercial sweet chilli sauce. Salt and pepper squid tasted of old fryer oil and not in any way of what it was meant to be. Did not even resemble squid, more like tiny dry and dark flat objects. I wish I had read the reviews first as they are all spot on.

Usually if I feel like Vietnamese food or the beef noodle soup (Pho), I would go to Red Lotus but since I was in the area, I thought I would give Vietnamese Mint a try. I ordered the special Pho soup which supposed to come with double of everything and my friend ordered the regular one, when our meals arrived, they looked exactly the same, well, maybe mine had a couple more pieces of beef balls but that was about it and so much noodles with hardly any meat. But I thought, maybe the flavour would make up for it, unfortunately not. It was so bland. I couldn't taste any of the usual spices, it was just flavourless. I didn't finish it and left disappointed.
AH
Wow I had high hopes, I ordered the vermicelli salad and a laksa and were not nice to say the least. If you're looking for authentic food do not go here the vege spring rolls had a weird creamy texture and the laksa was like water gross!! Go elsewhere
Glenn
Dinied there for lunch and whilst passing was busy so thought yep let's try..
Quite flavorless and bland. I had the satay chicken noodles and certainly needed the syranchyo sauce available to add kick..
We had a table for 2 and my mates dish came out 5 minutes before mine...
Better places to try
So, I'm Still Hungry.
Amazing Thai and Asian in Bulimba. We had Pho and Laksa and both were full of flavour with perfectly tender meat. Lemon iced tea to wash it down.
Wade Gourmet
I love a good stir fry.... This however was not. It was really, really bland and very oily too. I thought I made a good choice from the menu but my partner said hers was also really bland. Probably could have used some sort of sweet chilli sauce or honey or something. The meal looks amazing how missing a lot in terms of flavour. I left really unsatisfied. Not sure why zomato has rate it a 4.0
Cherie Wieland
Worst pho I've ever had. It has no flavour and all you can taste are the noodles. Half of the meat was gristle. Just gross actually. Didn't even get a quarter of the way through it. If I didn't get takeaway, I would have asked for my money back.

I live very close to this place and was a regular when they were in Morningside. They are a fresh addition to what I have found an underwhelming offering on Oxford Street. The Pho always seems to hit the spot. I've always had pretty good service here and it's nice to see young people in business doing well. Congratulations, you've scored a regular in me.
Yorkie_Traveller
Having eaten at Vietnamese Mint when it was based in Morningside, we were expecting great things, this was compounded by the popularity and queues since it's opening in Bulimba.
Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the hype. The Phở was really very average, the broth was cloudy and not very tasty. There was too many noodles, not enough herbs and not that much beef, the balance was all wrong. The chicken satay stir fry lacked freshness and flavour; it tasted like a generic Asian food court style dish, lacking quality, freshness and flavour.
So disappointing. I really hope they can get it right as the potential there is great and should provide some difference to the usual choices on Oxford street.
Phil Allan
Very disappointing! The old reviews here confuse me as the restaurant just opened in a brand new building. Anyway, food was bland and food courty. Would never eat here again.
Sarah Hayes
I ordered the teriyaki chicken noodles soooo very disappointed was absolutely terrible the noodles tasted like they were 3 weeks old it seemed like they were only interested in making money i found 1 vegetable in my entire stir-fry was very disappointing i live in bulimba will not be returning....

Absolutely love this restaurant- have eaten here many times. I really hope that it reopens soon. The vermicelli salad with grilled lemongrass chicken is delicious as are the soups.

A good meal. From all the fantastic reviews on this restaurant that can be found on Urbanspoon, we had to go and try Vietnamese Mint for ourselves!

The prawn rice paper rolls were lovely - full of fresh ingredients and very generously sized rolls. We also ordered the deep fried tofu but was a bit disappointed both with the size of the dish and the size of the tofu cubes. We were expecting semi-hard tofu cubes; the small rectangles of hard tofu lacked flavour and were underwhelming.

The special beef pho had great flavour and was very light, not too salty. However, without the tripe and tendon which is usually found in other special pho bowls around Brisbane, we felt that the dish was missing something.

Overall, a solid meal, with the pho broth in particular being on par with some of the best pho broth we've had in Brisbane.

Beaut food but.... Vietnamese Mint 8/10.
I have eaten here often and the food is very good with a large selection of delicious offerings priced realistically (as in, not expensive). Finding Vietnamese food in Brisbane, like many exotic cuisines here, is often a gamble in quality and authenticity, or simple an impossibility...

One point however; a recent takeaway order rendered my wife quite unwell and two weeks later the same happened to me! Regarding food prep hygiene I hope these are simply isolated occurances and coincidental.

Always a hit. Have been here quite a few times now and have not once had a bad meal. Favorite is the lemongrass chicken salad and I'm one of those awful people who get heaps of substitutions and it's never a problem! I get cravings for the coconut water with jelly pieces in it mmmm

Doesnt Disappoint!. This place was introduced to me by my gf! i would have to say it has the best vietnamese food out, the vege springrolls are the best and if you havent tried the lemon ice tea...well then youre missing out! its amazing.
the service is excellent and the owner is very friendly. i drive 25min just to eat at this place when i feel like vietnamese.
he also plays good music

Fresh, quick and tasty. Hidden away next to Coles in Junction rd shopping centre Vietnamese Mint offers dine in or takeaway tasty Vietnamese food. Fast friendly service... if i call ahead is ready by the time I arrive and I only live down the street ! Rice paper rolls and pho with lots of vietnamese mint (of course) to add, a must.

Best Vietnamese in Brisbane!!. This place has the BEST and freshest Vietnamese food! I highly recommend the Pho, Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Lemon Soda! I come here at least twice a week but could eat here everyday!!

Food great, but atmosphere not so much. The Beef Pho is amazing. I get it every time and it's so satisfying and filling. Although I think they could work on the atmosphere. The lights are far too bright, music bad, and seating uncomfortable. I'd like to dine in more often but because it's hard to relax we just get take away.

It's so good I eat here on average twice a week. I try to work my way through the menu but the beef pho is just too good. Add some of that special fried chilli and it's unbeatable. So glad I found this place! The owner is a champ too.

Just Love It!. I really like this Vietnamese restaurant even though I was not a big fan of Vietnamese food before.
But this restaurant totally changed my opinion of Vietnamese food!
If you don't know what to order, try their Lemongrass Chicken Salad, it is just beyond great!!!!!

Chicken Noodle Soup. The chicken noodle soup is fragrant, fresh and wholesome; the price is right, service is good and I could eat there every other day. They are quick with their service, cheerful and friendly. Although a simple exterior, it belies the freshness and flavourful food within! Definitely try this place out!
Bon
Delicious!. Walked straight past it without much heed, though I definitely noticed the tasty aroma from within. Discovered an entertainment book deal and realised it was the same place, so cruised over with hubby to try it out. We had vietnamese spring rolls, spicy beef soup, and honey soy noodles. All were delicious! Spring rolls were light and enjoyable, not heavy/greasy as some tend to be. Spicy beef soup was beatifully flavored, and spicy! Not your standard aussie two-chili menu option that's still mild, so be mindful. Noodles were delicious with just enough bitter leaves to offset it becoming too sweet by the end. Standard meals are $10 ($12 for large) so very reasonable also. Clean and open restaurant, a very nice change to the clutter of many store-arcade eateries as well. All up we were very impressed and would highly recommend!

Delici-o-so. I ordered the vegetarian noodle salad and LOVED it. The tofu is crispy, deep fried balls of love. This place is clean, quaint and to my surprise vegan friendly!

Great little find!. Tried for the first time last weekend, got the chicken ago rice paper rolls, spring rolls and satay noodles, all so fresh and delicious. Rice paper rolls game with a yummy dipping sauce. we will be back to try the pho!

Great fresh and fast food.. I ordered takeaway last Friday night and was greatly surprised by the great quality of the food.
We had a mix if entrees and dishes,The calamari and Vietnamese springs were good as wall the pork rice paper rolls. we also haf the lemon grass chicken salad, satay chicken and a pho The PHO was exceptional !!!!

Really great little find!. The Coles that this little hole in the wall is next to is my local supermarket so I've been aware of it since it opened a few months ago. Today during lunch I got a hankering for pho for dinner and did a search of Vietnamese in Morningside. Surprisingly, this was the only Vietnamese restaurant for a 3 suburb radius! Buoyed by the exclusively positive reviews, I decided to talk my partner into having it for dinner. We ordered the salt and pepper calamari, vegetarian spring rolls and for my main, spicy chicken soup and for him, spicy beef noodles. When we got home we dug in straight away and were not disappointed! The calamari was hot and crisp, the spring rolls were stuffed full of veggies and so hot and crunchy, not oily at all. My order was incorrect and i got beef, instead of chicken but it was so delicious I really don't care. It was spicy and the noodles were plump, the beef sliced thinly and it was just so yum. I ate the whole thing and it easily could have been two serves. Great value for $12! Boyfriends noodles were also a hit and he ate the lot as well! We're so full right now but happy! Will definitely be back to try the pho and bun!

A great local Vietnamese!. Located up the back of the arcade, I was so happy to find this clean, friendly establishment. We ate heaps - all fresh and well priced! Not a huge menu but has all the popular dishes. I must be honest and say I don't know many other Vietnamese restaurants in this area but now I don't need to. I'll just go here!

Fresh and Tasty. Rice Paper Rolls were yummy and fresh. Staff were friendly. Plenty to choose off the menu.

Found this new noodle shop outside Coles and was so impressed by the cleanliness of the shop / kitchen and lovely service.
Best Pho & Ricepaper rolls I have had in ages.
Will be back soon.

comprises a few entrées (cold rolls, spring rolls etc), some cold noodle salads, a couple of stir fries and of course, phở. You choose from the menu on the wall, order at the counter (small $10, large $12) and take a seat whilst they prepare your eat in or takeaway meal. We’ve enjoyed cold rolls ($6) and small phở (can’t imagine how big a large must be), char kway teo and broken spring roll salad on various occasions and have
