My fiancé and I have a date night here. Beautiful dinner.
Vietnamese style curry squid for entree was cooked to perfection. Melted in you mouth and I am not normally a big fan of sweet chilli sauce but this one complimented well.
Mountain goat curry for main. Unbelievably good. Obviously slow cooked for days and not too many types of meat you can cut with chop sticks. Also just melts in your mouth. Prefect amount of heat in the dish for me.
Will eat here again for sure.
Great food and service at a really reasonable price. Best caramelised fish we have had in QLD. Can't fault it and we'll definitely return again.
Love the food it's always tasty and the portions are not stingy sometimes the service is a bit lack lustre but the food makes it worth it. The vermicelli salad is delicious!
The exterior of the restaurant was not very inviting, there was nothing that says “oh, please come in!” But when you step inside, it’s as if you’ve traveled somewhere else: the red walls, red chopsticks, and the big pots full of vegetation, such reminiscence of an Asian house. Of course, the food! The chicken dish with coconut rice, oddly enough, the star of that dish was not the chicken, but it was the fish sauce. That fish sauce was one the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted. To describe it? It was like a beautiful explosion of spicy, tangy, sweet and umami. If I ever come back, a smart choice of order would be something with that fish sauce.
Really good Tamarind Prawns with excellent Unobtrusive service. Off the main entrance to China Town with bar. Authentic Vietnamese food with reasonable bill & 333 beer.
Quite a nice restaurant. The food is lovely as is the service. Well worth a visit. Not my favourite Vietnamese restaurant but a great backup. I will visit again.
Yum. I loved it. Great menu, great service & well priced. Best meal I have had in Brisbane. Thank you for a great time.
Great food. And fantastic restaurant. Had takeaway crispy BBQ pork. Definetly got my money's worth, the meals are large well cooked and most of them are gluten free! As someone who can't eat gluten this was a pleasant and relaxing experience as I was well looked after. Thankyou Red Lotus.
Pho-bulous. Walked in late on a very quiet evening and were welcomed and beautifully fed. My companion voted the pho her best ever. Servings are lavish and flavours abound. Will be returning soon.
Yum! Had a vermicelli noodle salad with chargrilled chicken and deep fried tofu! Usually restaurants are tight with the meat but I had a huge amount of chicken for my meal. Very satisfied
Not bad....Not good...mediocrity at it's best. Thinking may have to try it again. We had:
- fresh vegetarian spring rolls (quite bland w/o the very very tasty dipping sauce...yummy sauce)
- Tamarind prawns.... VERY VERY YUMMY
- Caramelised Barra in claypot This dish is not for fish... it's heavy, gluggy and was a miss.
Food 3/5
Service 3/5
Atmosphere 3/5
Value 2.5/5
OVERALL 2.9/5
Red Lotus is one of my favourite China Town destinations. I frequently eat lunch here during the week (chargrilled pork vermicelli salad is hard to beat) and I love the Vietnamese coffee. Have popped in for impromptu dinner and am not disappointed. My pork belly was very tasty and my husband was equally pleased with his crispy pork and duck. Special fried rice for the little guy was also plentiful and (mostly all gone - I think that says it all). Overall it's a pretty good value dining experience and the service is always very efficient, is somewhat perfunctory.
Couldn't of given a stuff about the poor service; I was too busy trying to figure out how to legally marry my tamarind chilli prawns so they would never leave my mouth again...
Food is Tops. Service ??. Our group of four was very satisfied with the dishes on the Lost in Saigon Banquet menu - no surprise this is a favourite. Good variety, very distinctive seasoning, and ample servings. I would rate the food experience ahead of my visit to Sydney's Red Lantern. So it is a shame that the service didn't match. With attentive, experienced waiting staff, and some sprucing up around the dining room, this would be a really excellent restaurant.
Great Vietnamese!! This place is one of my favorites! All the chargrilled mains are awesome and the chicken spring rolls are addictive! Great prices and friendly service :)
Black Sesame Ice-Cream - must try!. Been here twice with different groups of people and both have enjoyed the meals thoroughly.
Highly recommend the clay pot dishes, steamed asian greens with oyster sauce and the black sesame ice-cream (love it so much, am tracking down somewhere I can buy a tub of it to have at home).
Would not recommend the fresh spring rolls - whilst not skimping on the amount of fillings, the flavour combinations is not quite right. Was very unenjoyable.
People don't complain about the expensive food. Price reflects location.. onto another point. Food was tasty.authentic flavours.
Excellent every time Red .... Excellent every time
Red Lotus offers fantastic Vietnamese food. We recently tried out Luke Nguyen's Red Lantern in Sydney and we would prefer here any day. Make sure you don't leave without trying something from the chargrilled menu!
Just had dinner here and it was awesome ! Its nice to find a vietmanies restaurant that has class and service ! And yummmy food !
Cute little restaurant. Menu is a little confusing because over loaded for choice. Meat in spring rolls wasn't cooked properly however my sheshuan beef was amazing. Full of favour. Service was good. Nothing to rave about but not bad either.
Decent. Firstly the fitout is very well done with a pleasing modern asian feel. Nice colours and furniture. The food here is not too bad at all. The menu is quite extensive and has some rarer items like Betel leaf wrapped beef and 333 Vietnamese beer. The portion sizes are very generous. Flavours were great.
Best Vietnamese I've had in Australia. Service was excellent (although it was nearly empty as it was a late lunch), and the lemongrass chicken skewers and beef pho soup was particularly good. Will come back next time I'm in Brisbane!
I love Vietnamese food and often cook it myself - Red Lotus is authentic and delicious. Well worth a visit.
Good pho. Was very happy with the pho..
have basically lived on victoria street melbourne and this pho is definitely equal to some of the best i have eaten there.
We thought that the food was very tastey. I enjoyed the meal. The service took some force but was acceptable.
Great Staff, Great Food. Week Night service was awesome, with extra detail in explaining the menu, what are the house specialties and the most popular meals..
Love to come back soon!!
Great traditional vietnamese food + fabulous decor = win. Without a doubt the best looking Vietnamese restaurant in town....This place looks amazing
I don't normally say this, but the floor here has to be seen to be believed.
The lounge seats were very comfy and the ambiance had us there for hours over a couple bottles of wine.
The dishes were authentic, fresh and beautifully presented...they even had crocodile!
Staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we knew how to go about eating some our dishes.
Highly recommended
Great Food and Great people. The place had great warmth, inviting you to have a great traditional vietnamese meal. The service was very friendly and the food was more importantly exquiste!
What a beautiful resturant...the food was fantastic and the staff were friendly...I went in a group of 20 and couldn't fault a thing...great dishes with great value...I would highly recommend the duck for entree..
It’s not only the pho addiction, but the vibe this place has, the nice service, the smells and of course the flavours.
don't know if I was just super hungry that night but I thought everything was delicious!! There are a few negative reviews online but I can't say my experience was at all negative. The service was nice and efficient too and the serving sizes were just right for us.
Great place for a group or team lunch. The servers were attentive and the food was good. I had the crocodile curry and was happily surprised with the flavour. They've done a decent job on decorating the restaurant but the pricing was slightly high for the meals and atmosphere. They split the bill for us which is always nice for a group.
Pleasant venue for a relaxed lunch . Good service. I had the sizzling creamy butter garlic prawns which were succulent and cooked perfectly. My wife was happy with the crispy duck and plum sauce. We both enjoyed the special fried rice. With drinks came to about $60 which i thought quite reasonable. Would heartily recommend.
I took my wife there on Friday night for our wedding anniversary. I reserved a table for us earlier in the day and got an email back from the owner saying he would try and get us a nice table. That said, I booked late and for their busiest time. We dined at the Annerley restaurant.
They were flat out but despite that we got a lovely table and were made to feel so welcome. It really made our night. The two wait staff were exceptionally friendly and we were doted on by the owner, stopping in and asking how we were going a number of times.
Our meals were lovely. We had the Peking Duck rolls for entree then the chargrilled chicken and lamb dishes for mains. They were just excellent. The chicken and lamb were stand outs - we ordered them on the owners recommendation and just loved them. Melt in your mouth and perfect flavours.
We live nearby and will be back for sure.
we've only had takeaway from deliveroo from here and we found the food delicious. lots of yummy vegetarian options. definitely recommend the salt & pepper tofu and the vegetarian delight in butter in garlic creamy sauce. reasonably priced and good portion sizes. would try again.
