These guys do an awesome Crispy Pork Banh Mi. One of the best I've had within the area. Of course being closer to the CBD, the price is a bit more on the pricier side of your average Banh mi but it definitely is worth it.
I'm lucky enough to work nearby to Porkees and eat here all the time!
The noodle salads, bahn mi, pho, and spring rolls are all regulars and the best I've had in Brisbane.
Always fresh, and friendly service, can get busy at lunch time as it's very popular.
Delicious banh mi. Fresh ingredients and quick service. Can get busy at lunch times. The pho is westernised but ok. The curry is flavoursome.
This is everything you'd want out of a Vietnamese restaurant/cafe. Amazing food and even better service!Very highly recommend!! Go treat yourself!
While my partner was waiting for our drinks at Etto I walked over to Porkees to grab something to eat, walking by the door I was greeted by the friendly staff and it didn't take me long to order a vegetarian baguette and a spring roll (which the staff politely reminded me that it was not vegetarian).
To be honest I don't remember trying spring rolls that weren't vegetarian before so I might not have much to compare but these ones tasted really good, you could taste both the prawn and the pork while also enjoying the spices present, the only downside in my opinion is that the sweet chilli sauce provided was a bit overpowering and removed some of the subtle flavours present in it. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5.
The vegetarian baguette was huge! I might not have been able to finish it if my partner hadn't helped me, the sauce made a perfect match with the tofu and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy! It seemed like a healthy and fulfilling meal. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.
Overall I would be happy to come back at anytime.
My partner & I ate at Porkees. We had the beef & porkee baguettes as well as 2 rice paper rolls. The baguettes were amazing! The meat was lovely & the buns so fresh. Will definitely be returning.
Brisbane's best banh mi!
After lots of research, we've decided that this really is the place to eat Brisbane's best banh mi. The delicious crispy roll, filled with lashings of freshly roasted pork, crunchy crackling, pickled carrot, salad, pate, home made mayonnaise and chilli to taste is unbeatable. Diana and her staff feed the hungry lunchtime workers with love and pride and you get change from $10 too!!

Vietnamese Street Food at its best
The food here is amazing – we were very impressed with everything we ordered and we've eaten a lot of Vietnamese food!! The broth in the beef pho was fragrant and tasty with nice medium rare slices of beef, just the right amount of noodles and vegetables. The banh mi was delicious with a beautiful crispy baguette, tasty mayonnaise and pate, generous serving of crunchy roast pork, and full of carrot, cucumber, coriander, and fresh hot chilli (optional). The pork and prawn spring rolls were good too. Even though the staff were run off their feet catering to the busy office lunch crowd, our food came out extremely quickly. I think that this place is a serious contender for Brisbane's best banh mi!!
I love going here for my lunch, always order the same thing Beef Pho which is so fresh and yummy, love how the broth soaks into all the ingredients and cooks it slowly so the beef isn't tough or over cooked. Owner is also very friendly and accommodating along with all the staff. Place is super busy with regulars that agree. Thanks guys! P.s I have now tried the Pork Vemicilli salad and it is absolutely delish! I ask for no bean sprouts :)
Yum to the curry, rice paper rolls and banh mi. Fabulous and cheap- it's a go to when I'm picking my partner up from work- love my sneaky Vietnamese. Did I mention the staff are awesome and so accommodating when I want both rice and a baguette for my curry- I'm sure they try not to laugh but what can I say- I live for carbs
Vietnamese chicken curry is A MA ZING! And the service is incredible! Super busy spot. I would recommend ordering via the phone is youre pressed for time.
I’d not really read any online or social media reviews but had heard via word of mouth that this little lunch spot tucked away in the Valley was worth a visit. It took me a while to find an appropriate time for me to get there but recent plans fell into place which had me in the Valley around lunchtime. Usually when I try a new Vietnamese restaurant I go straight for the Pho but I was more in a Banh Mi kind of a mood and went straight in for ‘The Porkee’ which is pretty much the classic choice of triple pork I ordered an iced coffee to wash that down and some rice paper rolls (not for me!). The service was really friendly and the food didn’t take long to come out. The Banh Mi was excellent! Lots of flavour, a good ratio of meat to veg and I got some fresh chilli in there which is my preference to just using chilli sauce. Stand out for me was the very tasty pate. Great Banh Mi.
The coffee was probably a little too westernised really, a nice iced coffee for a warm day but I didn’t really get the strong hit of coffee and the hit of sweetness from the condensed milk that you usually get with a Vietnamese iced coffee.
Overall great tasty food and friendly efficient service, will definitely return when in the area.
Tasty food and nice service! It was very busy as I visited during the peak lunch period, however the wait was minimal and the food itself was excellent! Thanks Diana and team :)
So glad I found this place! It's my new favourite lunch spot. Service is fast and friendly and the food is super tasty. I've tried the Banh Mi and Vermicelli salads and they were both yummy. The chilli definitely has a good kick to it! I want to try everything on their menu now!
I had the Beef Pho which was very tasty. Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was also very clean. Great spot for a quick lunch. Will return
Have long been a fan of Porkees. Always busy, and smells amazing!
I love their Pho, and a friend adores their curry. Today I had the special spicy beef soup and it was delicious - fragrant, lemongrassy, perfectly cooked noodles.
Ordered a porkee Banh Mi. Best Banh Mi I've had in QLD. Place was very busy due to the lunch crowd but they rushed out orders quickly so I didn't have to wait long. My sandwich was $9 so I don't know what the other reviewer was complaining about.
This was one of the best tofu ban mi I have ever had the spring rolls were amazing also.
Agree that there's a bit too much carrot on banh mi but enjoyable overall and not sure why the silly woman is complaining about price. It's $9 not $13.
The best Banh Mi in Brisbane, love the mushroom pate as a vegetarian substitute. Viet ice coffee is also top tier
