one of the best meals ive ever eaten (shakpa). service not great, but my tongue didnt care.
Have been to this Tibetan Kitchen many times in the past & it seems like it has new owners now. Have to say since our last visit the food is still up to the mark. My curry was wholesome with beautiful flavors & spiced well. Only thing I didn't care for was the chilli bread, it was rather dense & doughy
The ambience at the Tibetan Kitchen was bright and 'happy' which seems perfect for the cuisine.
The food was excellent. We had the mixed entree, which includes the tandoori wings (really nice), spring rolls (crunchy and tasty), onion bhaji (which were quite dark and a bit dry as a result), plus the momo (beautifully made).
The Shakpa soup had some handmade dumplings and was really nicely balanced.
The prawn curry was zingy and flavoursome.
Service was a little slow, especially since the restaurant was so quiet. I think Foodora orders and one big takeaway plus prep for the rest of the week may have been taking a bit of priority.
Food was good
Tea was fantastic
Service - we were treated well
Kindly try their Sherpa chicken and beef .
Chapathi we ordered was not upto the expectation.
Tibetan Kitchen Petrie Terrace does not disappoint! We had Momos (dumplings), veg spring rolls, Somar (Tofu Curry), Kasiko (Lamb), Goruko (Beef). The tastes in this restaurant are out of this world and really is different to other Asian dishes. We are old fans of this place and the quality and ambience are consistent. The Tibetan rooms with low seating provide a casual but exotic dining experience. 5 Stars from me!
Delicious and authentic. I took my FOB Nepalese friend and he said it was spot on. What really surprised me was the rice pudding. These things are usually heavy and overly sweet, this one was light, fluffy and subtle sweet with spice. Just gorgeous! We'll be back for sure!
First time diners to this casual and unassuming restaurant which has some character and charm in the decor.
We were two couples and were met by a lovely hostess who was friendly and polite.
We shared 2 entrees (chicken pieces and dumpling), 3 mains (chicken, prawn & lamb), rice and a Tibetan bread.
They weren't overly large servings but we all agreed it was just enough for the 4 of us, they were all well cooked and delicious, the meats tender and with our BYO wine we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
With the $2.50 pp corkage the bill came to $70 which was good value.
There is on-street parking outside (except during peak hours). We will definitely return.
It was awkward as it was just me and my ex partner there, but the meals were really good, I enjoyed them a lot, I will go back again someday.
Amazing food!. My boyfriend and I had been to Tibetan Kitchen in Fortitude Valley before, and whilst it was quite good, I wasn't truly blown away by it. I think that was more a function of the fact that he ordered something that contained an ingredient I didn't really like.
Went to Petrie Terrace TK last night and it was truly awesome. The food is reasonably priced and amazingly delicious.
I highly recommend getting a whole tandoori-styled chicken because the sauce is simply to die for. The mixed antree sauces are fresh and the chutney is spicy and really delicious. We also ordered a vindaloo which was very good. The whole menu is like taking the things you love about Indian cuisine and just making it more exotic and so much better. I've eaten at a few Nepalese places around the world - a particularly good one in Austria - but Tibetan Kitchen really does take the cake.
Really quiet on a Sunday night which suits me perfectly. I think I'll be going down there on my own more in the future to just enjoy the atmosphere and read a book over some lentils. Excellent.
Great food. We went on a Cudo voucher for the mixed entree & 2 mains. The entree was delicious & generous & the mains of Lamb Saag & Goat Curry were fantastic. Our waitress (the owner?) was very friendly & helpful with her suggestions. The Tibetan Beer may be an acquired taste but I couldn't fault the food or service. We'll definitely be back.
Fantastic So many delicious options, great for vegetarians. BYO! Very reasonable prices and a great relaxed atmosphere.
6/10. This used to be one of my favourite places to dine but lately I feel like it has gone down hill. The steamed breads are now quite dry compared to the light and fluffy texture they always used to be and seem to be getting smaller and smaller. The curries are always quite delicious but I'm a little disappointed as I feel like the prices are rising but the meal qualities are going down hill :(
Really really good. I ordered the vegetable dumplings for my entree and they came with an amazing chilli tomato chutney... For my main I had the prawns with chilli, lime, coconut and coriander upon the recommendation of a friend. Both were excellent and the service was decent. I seriously recommend the prawns. The flavour is similar to a Thai green curry and it tastes like they've mixed a tablespoon of butter or something in at the last minute. Great for a cheap feed!
The Tibetan Kitchen on Petrie Terrace is in a building that used to be occupied by Romeo's, one of Brisbane's iconic Italian Restaurants. Although a few Tibetan decorations have been added to the room, there's still an Italian feel to it.
The tofu somas curry was AMAZING. Definitely recommend getting that plus plenty of very yummy starters (especially the samosas). Lovely staff and lovely restaurant. Will be going back many times.
I have never been to a Tibetan place here in brisbane. I tell you this is the best authentic Tibetan food here. Feels home made and you want to feel the spices one must visit here.
First time eating here and had a great time. Friendly service, great food and at a good price. Sherpa Chicken main was amazing and the lassi made to order was really good. Would recommend to anyone who likes Indian food to try for something familiar but a little different.
Fantastic place. Food was delicious!Staff are friendly and welcoming. Have a good sense of humour, and are attentive. Easy going and relaxing place. Good prices. Will be going back again. Decor suited. If you have never been to Tibet or Malaysia, this is what you would expect. Recommended! 😄 30.09.2020
Tibetan kitchen is a lovely little restaurant. Highly recommend the tofu somar curry!
(This is coming from a meat eater)
It’s seriously the best option on the menu, we keep coming back for more :-)
