Exceptional service! Came here for dinner with my hi husband and in-laws. Our waitress was knowledgeable about everything on the menu - she even helped suggest options as my father-in-law is allergic to chilli. We had a corked wine served to my mother-in-law and they were gracious enough to open fresh bottle and dump the corked wine. Food was delicious and presented beautifully. I can say we walked away feeling very full but very satisfied.
I never understood love songs, but then I met Gerard’s Bar. Everything is well put together and high quality. The anchovies cured my depression.
Really good meal. Beer list is average, but got to try a Qld IPA. Wine list is solid: nice blend of price points and regions. We did a good St Hugo GSM and a couple of followers from NZ.
Service was solid throughout the meal, friendly and unobtrusive.
Highlights in the entree section: crab snacks, octopus. Mains were great; lamb our highlight dish. Desserts were OK. Cocktails in the bar opposite better.
Would I go back? Absolutely!
Really enjoyed the chicken burger, it was deliciously crunchy and well seasoned. Chips and cocktails were great as well. Pricing was fair and friendly efficient service. Will be back again for sure
The lunch here is fast and pleasant to eat.
Each visit has been to satisfaction and the service is to order.
The price is correct for the quality of style and food.
The coffee is strong.
Cool place to drop in before a meal in the James St precinct. Sit at the bar, indoor tables or outdoors. Order at the bar. I tried an Aperol Spritz and my friend who was driving ordered a lemon, lime and bitters. Beautifully presented and came with some complimentary olives. Service was friendly and the place got busy very quickly once it hit 6pm. We paid the bill and went to dinner. Good menu available too.

What a great little place! Whilst it is quite small there are plenty of spots to sit down and chill but I do recommend making a booking. Whilst it's sister restaurant might be better for a hearty meal Gerard's Bar is a great place for beautiful cocktails and wine, and has the unique ability to create your own cured meat and cheese platter! Wow! Loved the concept! May I recommend the that you try the Wagu Chorizo! Thanks for a fantastic night!
With a Sunday free hubby and I opted for a long lunch at Gerard's Bar and we're so glad we did. We had a lovely bottle of sparkling rose as recommended but the lovely waitress. Dry, fresh and perfect with our charcuterie. The soft cheese was so good we ordered seconds! The homemade quince paste was so good my quince hating husband ate it. We will definitely be back for another long lunch, next time with friends!

Had a great time with my friends here for some cheaky drinks and certainly recommend the spot! Great wine list!! Must try their tapas one day!!
Arriving for pre-dinner drinks on a Friday night we were promptly attended to and a waiter served us straight away. Service is always prompt and friendly here and have never had a bad night, and this night was no exception. We ordered a share plate of soft cheese, salami and bread, plus a really nice bottle of wine. The wine selection was offered initially as a tasting which worked in our favour to make a choice and we decided on the Heathcote shiraz...very nice and excellent pricing. Always a great experience at this bar before a meal.
This place is Amazing! Both the food and drinks are exceptional and the service is also good. Thank you Gerard's and keep up the good work !!!
I wish I could rate this place more than 5. 😋 the food was just out of this world. So fresh, the combinations of flavours amazing. The chef is a genius. The porcini icecream is the best thing that I have ever eaten.
The service was also spot on.
I wish I could come here everyday
Gerard's Bar and Charcuterie is excellent in what it claims... at both mixing drinks and serving charcuterie. Every experience I've had of the drinks selection (numerous experiences now) has been fantastic. They mix the basics well and the cocktail selection is also scrumptious. I personally enjoyed the charcuterie board we tried more than the tapas dishes simply because it was more suited to enjoying with drinks and sharing within a group. We loved the vibe of the outside garden space and I have to mention once again, what amazing service we received on the night.
I actually think Gerard's Bistro is better value, but the food here is the same quality and style. The eggplant, cauliflower and pork jowl were all worth ordering but I had food envy with the next tables burgers
The Wagyu cheeseburger here is still the best burger I've had in Brisbane! It's also the smallest burger around but worth every bit of $14. Two juicy patties of wagyu beef & bacon with pickles and two slices of perfectly melted cheese on a brioche bun. The ideal meat to bun ratio and absolute heaven! Drinks are fairly priced and I also love the great charcuterie selection. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, still one of Brisbane's best bars!
Service and product knowledge outstanding, I went 6 months ago and was unhappy with a early closing of charcuterie service at 9.45, but recently gave it another go and had an absolute ball, the wine selection was fantastic with wines of incredible quality, thanks to the bar tender Christian, me and my friend were guided through the full wine list and what I would call best charcuterie I've experienced, tinned muscles were amazing.
Thank you Gerard's for such attention to detail, you guys are guns. Il be back
Rarely do I get past the Jamon & tasties to have anything else on the menu. Girls go shopping, do not pass Go instead ask for a glass of champagne at this spot & rest your arms from those shopping bags. Pretty cute for romantic night with another sitting out under the tree also!
Great place great venue .... Great staff. Enjoyed a wonderful night with friends and family what a perfect choice. We will definitely be back sooner then later.
Best Cheeseburger ever.... Yep. I said it. This is the best cheeseburger I've ever had. It's quite pricey, but delivers. Great little bar for the hipsters and yuppies.
Buzzy bar with great cocktails and switched on, fabulous staff. We went before dinner at Gerard's Bistro but unlike its Bistro cousin the service in this bar is outstanding. Will definitely go back on my next visit to Brisvegas
Breath of Fresh Air. After having to deal with poor customer service and snooty attitude at Cru Bar I stumbled across this gem of a bar. Set just far away enough from the main street with seating under a beautiful tree Gerard's Bar makes for an outstanding after work drinks and nibbles venue. I was salivating at the multitude of meats hanging in the front window. Have I reached heaven!!??!! There is a decent selection of good wines on the wine list. The menu also has a large selection of various charcuterie meats, cheeses, pates and small nibbles. All are outstanding and the pricing is just perfect! I had a fantastic time with my colleagues and will sure to be back upon my return to Brisbane.
It's about time there was an alternative to the other tired bars in the area.
Fantastic Food, Drinks, Service & Ambience!! 12/10. My wife & I dined here Saturday night 1/11/14 after having stumbled past it 3 weeks ago & seeing those delicious jamons, salumis, Parma ham etc hanging up in the window reminiscent of memories of Spain, we just had to try it! Outside when we arrived were the typical pretentious uncultured (though they would beg to differ) James street crowd all mingling around like squashed sardines wanting to be noticed, as it is one of the places to be seen in at present. We thought we had picked the wrong night as judging by the crowd squashed together out the front we assumed inside would be the same. Luckily when we entered inside there were multiple choices of places to sit (as it obviously wasn't chic to hang out inside). This suited us fine as we came there for the food & didn't wish to mingle with the James street lot if we could help it. Our Waitress (heavily tattooed young woman) welcomed us with no air of pretentiousness or snobbery & proceeded to explain the menu & concept of Gerards bar. She was very knowledgable of all the charcuterie & drinks menu. We ordered 2 champagne cocktails to begin @ $10 ea Superb!! We had come there to try the Jamon Iberico primarily as we had never tried it & wanted to see if it was as good as its reputation said so she suggested 2 other cured meats to accompany the Iberico Shoulder & a wonderful soft Spanish Goats cheese to accompany. We also ordered the Pork Belly with White Anchovies & 2 Giant clams. We ordered drinks to accompany the food, a glass of Chilean red, a glass of Lebanese red & a Lebanese Pale ale (as we had never tried lebanese wines or beer before). The food came out quite promptly, Clams first Fresh & Delicious! followed by the Pork Belly (Incredible Taste sensation!!!), then the Charcuterie & cheese & bread. If you have never eaten Iberico Jamon in your life it is absolutely a must try! It was everything we had anticipated, it melted in the mouth, sweet & absolutely delicious & addictive! Worth every cent!! Just wish there was more (although the serving was quite generous!) The other 2 Salumis were very good too & perfect with the artisan bread & Lebanese pickles. The Cheese totally balanced the scales & is one of the nicest goats cheeses we gave ever eaten, not too strong as our waitress had advised us. The Lebanese wine was amazing; rich, dense, intense & most surprising @ $11/glass great value too! The Lebanese beer too was a shock to the palate, delightfully refreshing with citrus & coriander notes coming through reminiscent of Hoegaarden. Very impressed & can't wait to have another next time!. We finished our meal & another waitress (equally knowlegable & friendly) who had served our drinks incuding 2 Pisco sours (that weren't on the menu but were executed with the same authenticity of the first ones we had tried in Lima Peru some years ago, reccommended on handing us the bill that the next time we came we should try the Frozen yoghurt dessert with a citrus sorbet. As the evening had exceeded our expectations & the Staff so amazing, we decided to order the dessert on her reccomendations. It was theatre & a science lesson combined to watch it being prepared as the chef did the Feran Adria thing & used liquid nitrogen to freeze the yoghurt balls. The taste sensation was incredible, light, Zingy, Fresh & the perfect end to the complex of flavours that our meal had been. We thoroughly reccomend this dessert. We can't wait to come back. Our only criticism is the Security goon that ambled through the restaurant several times during the evening. He was intimidating & unnecessary inside & should have stayed outside with the inebbriated James street lot & not put a temporary dampener on the ambience inside. All in all however despite the gum chewing security thug, it is the best dining & drinking experience we have encountered in Brisbane to date! Amazing food! Amazing Staff & Fantastic Ambience! The Lebanese owner should be highly commended as he has done his homework well, it ticks all the boxes. We rate Gerards Bar 12/10! Thanks for a great evening :)
Yum yum yum. Great service, awesome vibe. Tasty drinks and amazing food!
Another welcome addition to the Brisbane scene. Really enjoyed this place. Having been a fan of Gerard's Bistro, I had to try this place. Tempting selection of charcuterie, cheeses and bar bites were really delicious. A few cocktails later and I really felt at home. Will be going back.
Went to papa jacks (also quite good) then popped into gerard's bar for another drink. really good experience. ambiance x 10000
Mmm, super tasty burger!. I had been longing to try the burger at Gerard’s Bar for too long. Eventually it happened! It was worth the wait too! Very tasty burger, couldn’t fault it at all really though some may find it not big enough on it’s own.
I’ll definitely be having this burger again!

Tasty Meats!. We originally was going to try Gerard’s Bar a few weeks prior one Friday evening, but it was so busy we just decided to have a drink instead. A couple of weeks later we stopped in while wandering around the shops on James Street. We arrived just before lunchtime on a Saturday and were the only people in. We ordered some cured meats, paté and cheese to share. All the food was good the accompanying breads were also very nice. Would definitely return.
Great little bar with lots of Tapas style dishes, prosciutto, cheeses & patè on the menu. Great waitress but unfortunately the bread that was served with the food was old....could hardly chew it!.
Very cool but very welcoming. Loved our little pre-dinner drinks session here recently. The staff all look hip and too cool but they are actually warm and friendly and competent. The charcuterie was amazing! And the bread served with it was astoundingly good. And the cocktails...made by expert hands and with a twist which lift the drinks at Gerard's out of the realm of the ordinary. Keep it up! Brilliant addition to Brisbane!
Fantastic little bar. The waitress chose some meats, cheese and pâté for us. Gorgeous selection. Cheeseburger is amazing!
If you've not been yet, Gerard's Bar is located just behind one of my favourite One Hat restaurants, Gerard's Bistro. Run by the same team, head chef Ben Williamson has demonstrated his breadth of talent by establishing a bar menu that hits all the right notes. The menu has a definitive Spanish and Italian feel to it, with plenty of cold cut meats, cheeses and sweets to tempt all who step through it's doors
