I was pleasantly surprised with the burger! It’s not a wonder that it came highly recommended. Juicy patty and I loved the pickle on top. Coffee was mighty fine 👌
Having been to a lot of the more popular cafes, sometimes I have found that busyness is often used as an excuse for sub par food and brusque attitude on behalf of staff. Once in a while though, I get the opportunity to go to a place that is has both the buzz of keen enthusiastic staff along with amazing food, despite the Saturday peak hour for brunch. Reverends at Fortitude Valley was one such cafe. Killing time in between appointments, I found myself in the valley in search of food last Saturday morning.
They were quite welcoming and was surprized at their nice seating area. Very easy to order and they were quite happy to let me change a few things on the menu being pregnant. Had a small sip of my friends coffee and it was delicious.
Highly recommend.
This is my local and I can’t rave about it enough. Great menu, best coffee and feels very tucked away from the bustle of the Valley. Love this place!
I meant to explore this cafe and nave a brekkie “The Monk” to celebrate the CNY and my vegetable day. Unfortunately I was too early for the kitchen (second customer of the day@ 6:45am). Therefore, I took the advice from the friendly barista to have my favourite banana bread with fake white. Took a seat at the back of the cafe, where provides a comfortable vibe for the diners. It did not take a long time to have my orders on the table. Well, not only the coffee but also the banana bread was above average. Coffee was creamy with strong aroma. The banana made me the feeling of having the banana but not a slice of bread. Well done. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR🎉🎉🎉
This morning after walking around a bit trying to find a place open during the public holiday I finally find this shop open and decide to walk in.
I ordered a cappuccino a chai latte (I forgot to ask for a dirty chai :/) a ripe cherry muffin and the atheist burger
Both drinks were not strong, the chai missing flavour to it and the cappuccino although not having a strong coffee flavour was quite bitter. I would rate them a 3 out of 5.
The ripe cherry muffin was a huge muffin crunchy outside and moist inside with plenty of cherries all the way through. I would rate it a 4 or 4.5 out of 5.
The atheist burger packed a lot of flavour to it but I think it's a bit too much to charge 13 dollars for it eventhough all the ingredients tasted fresh and I enjoyed it I think 11 dollars would have been more reasonable. I would rate it a 4 out of 5.
Overall I enjoyed my breakfast and would probably come again, but some items might be a bit pricy.
Atmosphere: love it!! Exposed brickwork, morning sunshine. We sat out the back and it was nice and cosy for a winter morning. Sitting out the front would provide plenty of people watching if you can find a spot.
Food: we shared a truffled cheese toastie that was heavy on the truffle oil. Really decadent so I'm glad we shared. The bacon and eggs were well cooked- I love it when places chive the eggs.
Coffee was smooth and ours looked exactly the same even though we had different milk.
Service: we were served by a lady I think owns the place? She was really lovely and apologised when people who came in after we ordered got their coffee before us- that was nice.
Will I come back? Uh, yeah.
The coffee on a late Saturday afternoon was excellent. The place has a cosey atmosphere and staff were very friendly. Will be coming here again.

Thank you for a wonderful morning coffee experience. Not only is your customer service incredibly outstanding, but your coffee products are exquisite. My second visit was greeted with my barista remembering my order from the day before (the very first time I had visited this place). I wish every customer service officer, everywhere, was like you - well done.
These guys really hit the nail on the head. As soon as I walked in I was greeted & sat down with water brought over straight away. The waitress knew the menu well enough to guide me through what could be made vegan & my order was in the kitchen within 5 minutes of entering. The coffees were great & the barista knew who I was from visiting my previous cafe & he was well educated on the brand they were serving. The meal came out quickly & tasted amazing! Will definitely be returning.
I have been a regular for coffee at Reverends for quite some time now since it's so close to work. They are definitely passionate about coffee here. Coffee grind is weighed to the precision for every single cup and same goes for espresso. Their coffee machine is not only impressive looking but I'm pretty certain it has something to do with their ultra creamy froth. That is what really sets their coffee apart.
Would recommend this place to any coffee lovers.
Food was fantastic. Had a great filter and was surprised to see so many coffees on offer. If I'm going to be honest, it look me a while to work up the courage to walk into this place - seems a little intimidating?? I found the staff a little cold but maybe it was just a bad day. Still very much worth a try :)
I kinda want to rate the food and the coffee separately. The food menu was limited and I cannot understand no bacon on a brunch menu. The coffee however was smooth and definitely one of the best I've ever had.

It's smooth and velvety but still packs a punch without any bitterness, my perfect cup of coffee. Find it at Reverand's Fine Coffee in Fortitude Valley's Brunswick Street. It's the house blend. There's all the standard options here but also the opportunity to try Chemex, Aero Press and Cold Drip versions.
Excellent café. Real coffee made by people who are passionate about what they do. These guys know their coffee. Very friendly, nice food, good music and big space out the back. Personally I like to sit near the window and watch the valley go past :-)This is my replacement for Fat Boys where I used to spend many a happy day before it got taken over by the RG and lost its soul. However the coffee here is much better than it ever was at Fat Boys but it's a cool vibe like FB used to have.

Past the Valley Mall in Brunswick Street, this small cafe has an inside large communal table with further and limited seating towards the back. The short menu highlights carefully thought out breakfast choices and lunch rolls using artisan breads and bagels. Although visiting for coffee, the dishes looked fresh and individual with and eggs on toast theme for breakfast and a range of interesting bagels offered for lunch. Coffee was of a high standard with an initial light fruity sweetness, showing intense and rich flavours and finishing with a lingering pleasant fruitiness. If you automatically add sugar, suggest you hold off until trying the brew as the coffees tried totally lack bitterness and are a delight to drink. Staff friendly and an informal ambiance ensures a nice stop for a quick coffee or more leisurely bite.
Haha very interesting coffee but I highly recommend it. I had a purple rain bean and it was super fruity. The staff were friendly and very knowledgable about coffee.
The food and the coffee...words can't describe. I've never had either that I would consider ordinary. My Facebook post one morning - "Nothing like a delightful serving of glazed swine, poached eggs of fowl and thoughtfully composed coffee beverage (Thanks Jacob! ) to make you want to faint with delight on a Friday morning."
Oh Reverends, you are divine! I have only ever had exceptionally good coffee from here. Chocolate shavings on my cappuccino are a huge tick from me. The muffins are damn good, and although only a small menu, the food is always delicious. The staff are always welcoming too. If only more cafes would take a leaf out of Reverend's best-selling book. Best!

I was having a horrible day....had to throw out a fridge full of food due to careless housemate....so I headed out for coffee and breakfast - poached eggs, spinach, avocado and goats cheese on rye toast with EXCELLENT coffee....day redeemed !
THE BEST. Reverends is the absolute best. Menu is always changing in line with seasonality and availability of products, which is great. My favourite is the beetroot, haloumi, pesto sandwich on rye, as well as the classic poached eggs on vienna with swiss chard, heirloom tomatoes, and jamon.
As for the coffee? Lets just say that I'll travel 20 minutes for it... :)
Coffee made with great care and was excellent although not my favourite blend. Loved the espresso butter but the banana bread tasted a bit mass produced...

Reverends Fine Coffee - Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Tranqulity and ambience swallow you immediately as you walk in the door here. Physically to describe the place there is not a lot, with exposed brick wall, a simple wood floor and basic furniture adorn the place. Out the back there is also a room to sit - complete with a church pew to make pun out of a name. However, there is certainly an aesthetic with the setting. You almost forget it is a busy main street right outside the door.
Most coffee places want to get the coffee to you right on the go; while here it is not overtly slow there is time to appreciate the atmosphere of a place. It is not a bad idea from time to time. Service is really friendly.
Offerings for food are a bit on the basic side; I did not go here for that. The main star of the show here is the coffee, and not just ordering a cup to drink. Going one step beyond getting a blend to take home there is Aeropress machines to buy over-the-counter. Before heading off to lunch with my dining buddy he suggested this place for a coffee first (the lunch place was close by); as usual it was an extra-shot cappuccino for me. From the first sip this coffee made an impression.
The texture is really smooth and having a finish off off shaved chocolate really helped. It tows the line between a medium and medium-dark roast, and like a lot of great coffees of a small size it creates the right balance of body to allow the espresso to last sometime while keeping hot.
Brisbane's coffee culture is still on the rise. What seems to be overlooked is that there is a third option between cafe and espresso bar. Sometimes people would like a bite to eat with their coffee and sometimes just a coffee is good yet there is not quite the aesthetic or seating to entice parking to enjoy. The middle way is possible here and any coffee lover should seek this place out.
Wholly satisfied. Beautiful coffee, delicious breakfast, very reasonably priced, friendly staff that refreshingly not of the so cool it hurts breed popular in Newfarm cafes nowadays - they were even tolerant of kids. This place works

We’ve Bean on a mission to head to Reverends Fine Coffee for ages and when we finally made the pilgrimage to the Valley, it was well worth it. There is a small area to sit as you enter the coffee shop – where you can sit on the church pew and prepare to pay homage to the coffee. There is also a larger, quieter area past the counter. The standout features are the exposed bricks, the black ceilings and the hanging lights. It feels like the kind of place an artist or poet might sit to draw inspiration. From a look and feel perspective, it reminds us of the The Little Mule in Melbourne. With a Mocha mate malfunction, we had the pleasure of two visits in a very short space of time … after our first visit we were delighted to head back. Luke said it was a shame mocha mate couldn’t join us, ‘because our mocha would blow him away. My wife and I have walked past this place many times before but decided to give it a go this morning, had a toasted almond croissant to share (wonderful), soy latte for me (pretty good) and an oat latte for the better half- which sadly was not so good, but not bad enough to complain about. Pricing was slightly above average but not unreasonable and timing was ok, but a pet peeve of mine is when people who have ordered after you get their orders before you...but the croissant is worth coming back for. There are literally dozens of coffee choices in the valley but only some have these croissants so we will be back and give it another go.
This place was an all-round perfect experience.
From the friendly staff, to the delicious coffee and great food! We had the smashed avo and rueben sandwich with GF bread. Both were 10/10.
The chocolate on top of the mocha was literally melting in our mouths. We even asked the staff for extra and they happily gave us more!
There’s even a court yard at the back which was the perfect little spot to hang and enjoy breakfast.
