Amazing little find, lovely coffee and the first place to cook my well done eggs "well done". My wife got Nona's messy fritata and wow the flavour was amazing.
Amazing great service with a smile, what more can you want.
Finally had the opportunity eat at this place. You really felt like you entered their house. Had a homely feeling. Excellent service. The coffee was simply perfect. Though we were disspointed with no pancakes on the menu we still picked something that drew our attention. I had Nonna's frittata. Every bit was cooked to perfection. Eggs were so tasty. Hubby had simple fried eggs. Now he is super picky with having his eggs cooked well done and they did. Season well. It tooks ages to get here but we will definately return to try their famous ricotta pan cakes.
Has the best Italian Thick Hot Chocolate. It’s served hot with two marshmallows and is incredibly thick and creamy. Absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
Great service, super friendly :) really interesting menu with something for everyone and it’s all (yes, we’ve worked our way through everything) delicious!
Discovered this cafe on the day that I visited the Eva St. Privateer the other day. Went to explore this morning and was surprised to see the inside dining area is so roomy. Very friendly and attentive table service. Ordered the Local farm egg with messy style + tomato relish + smoked salmon. Coffee was the Di Bellla brew which was well presented and was done perfectly right for my palate. The savory dish looked great and spectacular with large portion of scrambled egg, four to five pieces of smoked salmon and two pieces of sourdough. Corrected me if I am wrong, I think the chef has mixed some cheese to the scrambled egg, which delivered a specific salty taste on the well prepared scrambled egg. Honestly, I usually would not touch the sourdough but I had quite few bites on those this morning. An unexpected high quality brekkie this morning, thumb up.
Lovely place with very sweet staff and a good variety of very tasty breakfast options and very healthy breakfast options, great if you and your companion can’t agree on indulgent vs healthy food!
Been here twice. Always been consistent with their quality! Simple things like Poached eggs, they do it perfectly. You’ll be surprised how many places don’t do it right.
-My partner had the charred corn avo bruschetta, it was a really mix, perfect for breakfast if you want something light and simple.
-I had the vege brekkie. Portion was a bit small for me, but again a good variety on one plate.
Only went for Breakky. Nothing that exciting but at least tasty, but staff are friendly. Would be interested to try dinner. Easy street parking.
Visited for the first time today for lunch. Noticed many of the meals had a Mediterranean influence which is to my liking. Prices were around the $15-$17 mark but my meal was worth every cent. I ordered the kofta salad - one of the best salads I have had. It was served in a huge bowl and was jam packed with interesting, flavoursome delights including haloumi, 2 large Kostas, grilled capsicum, lentils, spinach leaves and a mint yoghurt dressing. They certainly didn't skimp on the ingredients like many cafes do. The service was good but it also wasn't very busy when we went. Waited probably 15mins for our order. I have friends that love this place and keep returning - as I will be. It was a little hard to find as it's off the main road. I was drawn there by the Di Bella coffee they serve (best bean in my opinion!) and saw the Di Bella placard on the corner of Eva Street but it didn't direct customers to the store.
Went for Sunday brunch around 10am and was expecting a lot of people and a bit of a wait. However to our surprise the cafe was only half full! We ordered drinks, Lebanese breakfast and Rosti stack. Both were yum, food came out within 15mins and portions were quite generous. Service was good but could be more friendly!
Delicious food, amazing coffee and outstanding service - very busy on weekends but quality and service does not falter. Lovely suburban spot.
I used to really like Ave Cucina, but the last few times have been a little disappointing, just average brunch and the coffee is nothing special, its such a shame as it used to have amazing food and always be really busy with a great atmosphere, it was pretty much empty when I went on the weekend. Hopefully they can turn it back around!
Outstanding atmosphere, great service, excellent food. Menu change for summer was a great choice. We've been here a few times and loved it every time.
Do yourself a favour and come enjoy Ave Cucina.
Had Fathers Day brunch here today and loved it. Despite being extremely busy the quality and presentation of the meals were great and the macchiato was excellent. Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. A new find for me and can't wait to return.
Been here a few times now. It's relaxed and cosy and the staff were happy for me to read my book and unwind with my coffee. Tried the Avo stack today which was fantastic but not sure if I can go past the vege breakfast! Grabbed a homemade almond cookie on my way out which had the right amount of chewy goodness. Friendly service without being too much in your face. Def recommend to my girlfriends.
Love love love this place. This is my local and I love it. Coffee amazing and food is fabulous!
Came here for breakfast on Sunday. Had the vege breakfast (and added a side of bacon). It was amazing, love the halloumi cheese and mushrooms. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection!! Very large breakfast portion! I will be back again :)
New little local. Ave Cucina is now our families new local. Their brekkie is fantastic (avo stack is our fav) and above all the banana smoothie is by far the best in Brisbane.
Portion sizes are amazing and the staff are so kind and helpful. Highly recommend this place for brekkie or lunch.... Well done Ave Cucina 10/10
Beautiful breakfast. Love the coffee, love the food (especially the avo stack!!). Would definitely recommend this place!
Great!. Great breakfast, good coffee and service is usually spot on. Breakfast wrap is one of the best thing I have ever had and their smashed eggs are delicious. Highly recommended.
Coffee is average, but the food is amazing! Service is great. Would come back!
A great local haunt. On the weekend i went to Ave Cucina with my mother. They were busy as it was fathers day. They warned us that it would be a 20 minute wait for a table. We agreed to wait, they took our name and a coffee order. Our coffees were delivered quickly in takeaway cups for us to sip on as we waited. The coffee was excellent. When we were seated, my mother had the avocado, pesto and rocket breakfast. She was very happy with the quality of the food and portion size. I had the granola with fruit and vanilla labne. At first i thought it looked too small but it was filling and absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly, efficient and accommodating to your needs. I would definitely go back.
Great breakfast (if you pick the right dish)!. Came here for breakfast, really enjoyed it. However, beware, not every dish is equal here. I think I had a mexican omlette or something first time round and didn't find it all that great. Friends had french toast and the avocado dish and they were something I'd definitely come back for.
My favourite cafe in Brisbane, Ave never disappoints. Great service, beautiful food and a lovely atmosphere. Their smoothies are the best I've tasted!
Really delicious breakfast that I'm still craving. French toast with fairy floss is genius. Good coffee too!
Great Local Cafe for Sunday Brunch. First time at this little place although i live just around the corner. Staff are friendly and actually talk to you and the pancakes are DIVINE!!!!!! Coffee is wonderful too. Will be back often.
Thanks ladies for a nice Sunday Brunch
Consistenlty great food and coffee.. Love the place. We are locals and visit semi regularly. the only reason we don't come more often is that it is so hard to get into some mornings but I guess that is because its very good. Service is friendly and the wait time is usually not too bad. It does get a bit rowdy inside, can be hard to have a conversation. I give it a 9/10 easy.
Always good, if you can get in!. Fantastic little restaurant in Coorparoo that delivers, and often exceeds, culinary expectations. Well worth a visit, but be warned, very popular.
Service & food = amazing. Probably the best service I have ever received in a cafe. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Happily greeted every time we arrive. Great coffee. Cute little place. Good, fresh juice and great food. Overall my favourite cafe in the outer suburbs of Brisbane.
Returned here after a few months. The good was still good, they have a good local following so must make a booking or be prepared to wait. Coffee is good and will continue to return
So wonderful to find a place that accepts breakfast bookings AND has lots of parking nearby.
Nicely styled and busy which gave it a good buzz.
Service is friendly and efficient - nothing too much trouble.
Coffee is especially good and the barrister is a pro.
And then there's the food- freshly prepared, innovative and delicious.
I loved Ave and can't wait to go back. Definitely worth a try.
Nice suburban cafe. Good coffee. Plenty of character indoors.
Beautiful food. Gem of coorparoo. Keep up the amazing work
Diana. Ave Cucina has an interesting menu for breakfast, which I intend to try. Only had time for coffee this visit which was a good full bodied brew
We dined here in a small group on a busy Saturday evening. I've not been to Ave before. The service was friendly and attentive. The garlic and chilli king prawn and scallop skewers were exquisite. I chose pasta of the day which was an Orecchiette with Brocolli and chilli. Not sure if this meal is a regular dish, it was very very good. Two others in my group had fish of the day, which was salmon with mash and a salsa con verde. The salmon skin was reported to be a little too salty for their taste but otherwise spook highly of their meals.
I finished with the warm chocolate brownie with house-made gelato and walnut crumble, which was lovely but perhaps a bit rich for my taste buds.
We'll be back to try breakfast / brunch!
Wonderful experience!. Fantastic food and great service. My friend and I both had the pear, walnut and rocket salad as an entree (rather than a side dish). It was almost main meal size and we agreed it had plenty of pear. For the next course, she was very happy with her pork and I was happy with my salmon. It was cooked all the way through (overdone for me) but I hadn't specified and it tasted good. The serving size of the fish was quite generous, to the point that I couldn't fit in dessert. However, a bite of my partner's choc brownie confirmed that it was as rich as it looked. There is no kids menu here so taking kids ends up being expensive. Accordingly, my son chose the salmon which was probably the most expensive thing on the menu. It was worth it however when he very nearly finished it. Of course, there was plenty of room in his dessert stomach and they were happy to provide an off menu kids' ice cream with topping. The whole experience was more than satisfactory.
Ave Cucina & Coffee Bar - Coorparoo, Brisbane. To find this place, a bit of searching and exploration is required. The extra bit of effort and exploration is worth the results. Looking at the layout and the inteior decor of the place, it is almost hard to believe that it is a suburban restaurant. I managed to go here with my dining buddy and his daughter (who is my sister-in-law) one morning, since I have a hard time turning down trying either a new breakfast place or a new place for coffee much less the two simultaneously.
This restaurants certainly has a Mediterranean feel to it and an influence throughout which extends beyond the food. Specifically, the influences are an amalgam of Lebananese and Italian. Therefore, you are in for friendly, accomodating service - add family focus into the mix and see it increase - with a focus on freshly made dishes that focus on a variety of flavours.
To begin, as usual it was the coffee orders. Getting a cappuccino in a mug I ordered it with an extra shot. This coffee had a strong aroma to it, and was really good. It was one of the best cups that I have had in quite a while.
The breakfasts are either the continential variety or a version of classic dishes with Mediterranean twists. One unusal dish that was there - which I in the end ordered - was the batata-baydot. This was a mixture of spiced potato and eggs, with a side of olives, cucumber and chili labne served with a generous amount of flat bread. It is every bit as good as it sounds (unless it does not sound appealing, and we thus disagree).
The flavours had a range of flavours and tastes, going from subtle to strong and back without being clashing. This can be attirbuted to the distinct flavours of olives and chili, along with the fresh ingredients being allowed to exude thier aromas. It was a filling meal, with just the right balance of items, flavours and serving size.
This is one great find. People know about it and really like it, all of which is apparent from the get go. The location is very ideal, it is right next to a school so parents picking up their children can have some cofffee beforehand. They are also now open for dinner, which is something that might need to be seen; even so this is worthy of a return.
Contemporary yet quirky suburban cafe with a fusion of Lebanese/ Australian food. Service and food quality were both top notch.
Beautiful local suburban breakfast spot. A reliable favourite. Can't resist ordering the breakfast wrap and the baked eggs 'Alla Fiamma' (spelling??) over and over again. Great coffee and can't go past the pineapple and mint juice either.
Had a reservation and they have our table away but gave all 8! Of us free coffee and apologised and gave us a table within 10 minutes! Great food too!!
Amazing food. Unique blend of western food, with a tinge of Lebanese style cuisine. Went to Ave for breakfast. Beautifully cooked meals. Amazing taste. Definitely recommend this place!
Wow! Exceptional breakfast and lovely service. Definitely one of brisbane's best places for breakfast!
Service, food and beverages always impressive! We will return again and again and again . . .
Love, love, love Cucina! Beautiful coffee, wonderful staff, and the best maamoul in Brisbane.
Local favourite. The food here is consistently good - especially the avocado stack.
However -Cappuccinos need chocolate powder!
Water glasses & jugs need to be clean with colder water being on offer.
Best in ages. Went to Ave Cucina for dinner and I have to say it was the best meal I've had at a restaurant in ages. I ordered the crispy skin salmon and the skin actually was crispy and really delicious. The waitress who was working was really efficient, friendly and very helpful. Would absolutely return to Ave Cucina.
Wonderful. We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and were very impressed. Even though we were there for breakfast on an extremely busy public holiday, we were seated and provided with coffee/hot chocolate straight away. The wait staff were friendly and very efficient. My husband had the wraps, which were tasty and enormous. I had the vege breakfast, which came with two of the best poached eggs I have ever tasted. We will definitely come back here again. I've already passed on numerous recommendations to friends. Well done!
Great coffee and atmosphere for breakfast. Nice selection on the menu... Cute location for coffee to start your day! Have been a couple of times and review remains the same
Six for breakfast and we all had a mixture of drinks and b/fast dishes, all good. Service good, quick and efficient. Stand-out dish was French toast made with crossiant. Alan
Overall a good experience but there were a couple of niggly little things that got up my goat. After a long deliberation I decided on the corn fritters, and was really looking forward to them. Upon trying to order then though, I was told by the waitress that 'we don't make them anymore'. Well why are they still on the menu? Grrr. Either replace the menus or have your staff tell people as their seated what isn't available. Also, the booth I was sitting in had a big support column protruding into the area where I should be resting my back, meaning I has to sit forward or lean back on the corner of the beam the whole time. Uncomfortable.
Complimentary water is not cold, which is a small let down considering it's been SO hot lately. 20 minute wait for food. Vegetarian breakfast ($18) was a little too salty and bread very tough to cut but it was filling and presented well. Inside is really lovely- comfortable chairs and flowers on each table. Waiter took my partner's plate away before I had finished my meal- a personal annoyance of ours. Glad I tried Avé (pronounced ah-vay) but will stick to Flute (Coorparoo) and Cafe Wrapture (West End)
Lovely!. I've had breakfast here several times, coffee and eggs always great.
Service friendly and have always managed to find us a seat even when busy.
Great Brunch. We stopped in for the first time for a rather late brunch, the place was still well packed but the staff looked after us cheerfully and everything happened in a reasonable time. The menu has some very interesting dishes to try and covers off on the standard necessities as well. We found the portion more than enough and beautifully prepared. All up one of my favorite breakfast places in the area. We will definitely be back.
Good food at reasonable price. Ate breakfast here, good service, lovely interior. Yum food at good price. If you want to be able to have a peaceful quiet breakfast though you must sit outside. Lot of reflective noise indoors. Would go again..
Best in Brisbane!. We are regulars at Ave, never get tired of the delicious choices on the menu and the coffee never dissapoints, highly recommend the banana smoothie - definitely the best in Brisbane. Service is more than fine, staff are always smiling and attentive, never wait long for food - very difficult to fault. Will recommend to all family and friends.
I come to this place once a week and have never had better service, menu options and atmosphere. Definately give it a try!
I was with 3 others today and we all agreed we loved this place. A young waitress advised us of the wait time to be seated. Di bella coffee - had piccolos and lattes all smooth sealed and enjoyable. Food yum not a long wait - it was really busy which is always a good sign. I used to work in a cafe during uni days and thought staff were doing a great job despite some of reviews i read on service!
Delish!. I was hunting for a new breaky spot and this place had rave reviews on urban spoon so I tried it out. I was very impressed and so satisfied with my meal I'll certainly be adding it to my list of regular breaky spots. Ave is very busy and doesn't take bookings for less than 6 people. The kitchen is open till 2:30 or till 1 on sundays (I also read in the menu that the weekly pancake special is only served on sundays). The menu has nothing stock standard which is great, there is no seterotypical "big breakfast". I had the Roassari eggs (poached eggs in a tomato based sauce with peas, crispy prosciutto and cheese served with toast) and my partner had the avacado stack ( a whole avacado cut into thirds with pesto, baby spinach and poached eggs- huge meal!). Both meals were beautifully presented, tasted fabulous and arrived quite quickly considering the plce was full. The food was delicous and a really nice change from the standard breakfast foods. The only thing that could be sightly improved would be the table service, I don't know if it was because they were at full capacity or if thats just the way it is but the service was a littly sloppy and it took a while to have someone take your order and we had to ask the person clearing our plates for more coffee. However the excellent food outweighed this minow flaw. I'll be recommending Ave.
This is my favorite place in Brisbane for breakfast. Their dinner menu is also amazing. The staff are friendly and provide great service. It is difficult to find another place in Brisbane that's quality of food and service compare. Just amazing!!
Had an amazing breakfast. Friendly staff and the food was great. Fresh and super tasty. Loved it!
Why didn't I discover this before now!. My husband and I are trying out coffee shops around Brisbane whilst i'm on maternity leave (therefore lugging a pram with us everywhere we go).
The coffee, food and service for Ave Cucina is absolutely AMAZING. Our waitress was very attentive, the coffee and food came quick and lived up to our expectations.
After having a few bad experiences at other restaurants around Brisbane lately, thank you for giving us a fantastic experience at your establishment.
Great breakfast. A little suburban gem that had great food, service and most importantly - good coffee! Ricotta pancakes on a Sunday are a must!
Not a bad little place for weekend brunch. Menu could use a bit more thought towards variety and bistro type meals. Slightly pricey and inconsistent sizing (for price) on some items, e.g the Pan Hash is not what you'd expect for $17. Nice Di Bella coffee.
Amazing food, coffee and staff.. Being run by previous winners of the popular television series, My Kitchen Rules, the expectations of Ave are set very high. All I can say is that it more than delivers. The food is amazing and the mediterranean inspired menu is always being modified to give regulars (and there are many of them) something new to try. The coffee is some of the best in Brisbane. To top it all off, the staff are very friendly and professional - qualities that are few and far between in today's restaurant industry. My family and I are regulars at Ave, and will be for a very long time.
Wonderful food, defintely recommend the messy eggs!! Great decor, will be back for sure!
Fantastic dining experience, staff were brilliant and food was even better. Have been here several times and unlike much other cafes, the quality of the food hasn't decreased. The staff also ask how the food is after every service and sometimes ask for recommendations.
Brilliant ❤️
Had an amazing breakfast this morning. Catered for our party of five, with two children perfectly. Great coffee too. Vege breakfast is highly recommended. Make sure you book or get there early at the weekend. We just beat the rush.
A decent breakfast option in the suburbs. I tried the poached eggs in sugo, which I found to be tasty. However, I found the serving size to be quite small, even with the upgrade option of adding prosciutto and cheese. Everything else was good - decent service, nice venue, and good coffee.
I stumbled into this cafe by accident and just wanted to kill some time. Ordered my espresso and then hesitantly asked "can you make it a ristretto please?".
Five minutes later I got a ristretto. Not a short black, not a long black, not some contraption with milk... they served the real deal.
So I got a real good feeling about this place and decided to order food as well. I wasn't wrong. This has become our new favourite spot.
Great food. Great service. Great ambient. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking.
Bonus: A variety of freshly squeezed juice.
Fantastic food, fantastic staff. Could not fault the service and quality of food at Ave Cucina. The menu is fantastic, and offers a slightly different twist on traditional breakfast options. Worth a visit!
Great little spot and always has been. I love the middle eastern granola!!! But there are so many tasty things on the menu! So help and understand when I visit with my toddler.
What a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning with friends. Delicious, freshly prepared food. Friendly staff who go out of their way to please and make you feel welcome. Love the yummy home made sweets.
