Review Sam's Malaysian & Chinese - Brisbane

Price: ★★★★★ (Very reasonably priced) Portion: ★★★★★ (Very generous; each serving can feed 1.5 people) Taste: ★★★★☆ (I’d recommend this place to anyone; each dish is loaded with ingredients, very tasty and authentic. However, the special fried rice was sadly tasteless and lacked any oomph like the rest of the dishes) Ambiance: ★★★☆☆ (Needs some improvement) Service: ★★★★☆ (Friendly, can be slow at times, but the taste of the food more than makes up for it)

Got a delivery with a big fly in the fried rice. Only discovered as we got close to the end of the meal . I have never felt so disgusted in my entire life. Tried to talk to the owner straight away . He offered to get the chef to make a new batch of his dirty food disregarding the entire health issue behind serving food with unsavoury ingredients in it. He then proceeded to tell me 'to do whatever I want if I am going to report him " before he hang up. Being close to their closing time calling back went unanswered. The health department will be hearing about this one.I am surprised Uber Eats would partner up with places with appalling conditions like this. THANKS for your stinky attitude towards the whole thing and also a BIG THANKS for not only putting my health at risk but also charging for your filthy food.

Great Hainan chicken rice on this side of town. Large serving. Recommended.

One of the best laksa in Brisbane and great value of price

Awesome food and cheap price, love their sweet and sour soup! :)

Not bad, ordered from this place twice. Wasn't disappointed. Really popular on uber eats. Friendly staff. Dine in area is nice and simple. I think most of the trade happens through takeaway. Nice family operation.

Amazing food. Been in the restaurant for food with friends and also had it delivered by uber eats. The garlic chicken and fried rice are my favorite dishes but there are also a number of other choices there that are amazing. Worth the dollars.

Was not a fan of this type of food, but now I am. The flavours were fantastic and the service was good too. Well informed staff helped me make the right choices.Worth the money spent

I read the reviews and had to try for myself, ate in the first time.
Was a little disappointed that there was no signage or specials menu available to look at offering a lunch special and they allowed us to order from the standard menu at full price.
Then the men behind us (obviously regulars) got the lunch special which was almost identical to our order (we ordered a dish each and serve of rice, lunch special is a dish WITH rice so we essentially paid double and felt quite scammed.
The food was really good though and I ended up ordering it through a delivery service just a few days later regardless.
If I go in again and they rip me off a second time I’d cut my loses and not go back.
Decided to try this place out after reading some of the reviews here. Not bad considering it’s a simple place with a few seats. I was pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the crispy egg noodle dish. Not too salty with plenty of ingredients. The gravy was nicely done and the meat pieces were tender.

If you are after a simple Malaysian lunch, this is definitely worth a try.

This restaurant is brilliant - a variety of Asian cuisines. Some Asian take away foods are so heavy and greasy, and that is NOT the case here. Foods are so light and fresh. Service is brilliant too.

Mainly take away place but you can dine in.
Had fried rice and duck curry. Rice was good and curry got a nice taste but duck meat was bit dry.
Overall okay place and charges are alright.
Will surely come back.

Ordered Mongolian beef. Could not eat one piece of meat as it was just chewy as. The flavour was very sweet like one out of a packet. Chicken and sweet corn soup was no good either. Dim sims were ok and the only eatable food. Won't be returning.

Great! Cheap, fast food! Okay, it isn't as good as Penang but it is the best Malaysian food I've found in Australia. Very nice to find authentic Malaysian food here.

Extremely disappointed with my order, not only did I get charged more than the amount on the menu I also got charged for ordering takeaway (which is not disclosed on their menu or when ordering).

Then on top of that, when I got my meal home it the pork was nothing but grisel and dark grey meat! Ick!

Would not recommend at all.

A good cheap eat doesn't just feed the stomach. It feeds the soul. This small family business offered good value food on our plate than the decor, so don't expect a fancy place and service. I guessed takeaways were their main business.

Steamed dim sims and satay chicken skewers were served as our entrees. They both were so yum; especially the dim sims that were surely homemade, good size and tasty. For mains, Kung Po chicken was great and Penang prawn noodle soup was awesome. The portions were generously huge and their prices were affordable. Would like to come back to try Malaysian seafood laksa and Char Kway Teow. My partner wasn't comfortable with this place though.

Classic awesome small family business done well. It doesn't offer much for dine in comfort but the food is always great. Affordable good quality food that's usually available within 10 mins

Seriously delicious food!!! Very affordable and the servings are big. We dined in and it looks just an ordinary diner but the food was exceptional! I forgot to take photos of the other food we ordered coz we were so hungry. Lol I would recommend eating here to anyone who needs a quick fix for dinner but decent good food!

Large tasty servings but room for improvement. We had the beef rending and mee goreng. The portion of mee goreng was huge and tasty, but didn't taste or look like what I am used to in Singapore, maybe Malaysian me goreng is different.

Beef rendang was served with two pieces of roti canai. Beef was very tender and delicious, but the rotis tasted like they were commercially made and frozen.

We will definitely be back to try other items but I'm not sure that this restaurant is worthy of 95%

We ordered three dishes. BBQ pork Wonton soup, beef curry with roti and Singapore noddles. Very very impressed by the beef curry and roti, My family is a big fan of Malay food, I highly recommend this curry! It is rich but not salty, creamy but not greasy and the roti is soo authentic! But the Singapore noddle is way too plain, can't taste any curry flavor at all! I had better ones.

Great food!!! Will not disappoint!. Superb! Everything you could want from a Chinese/Malaysian restaurant. Have been twice. I am very picky about laksa's (my main reason for wanting to go here as they have just opened and a quality laksa can be hard to find) and I am impressed. The seafood was fresh and the soup tasty. My boyfriend had the mee goring. Yum! The portions are huge. Full of meat, vege, seafood and noodles. Between the two of we couldn't eat it all. Snuck in the kitchen in the middle of the night to finish it :) sorry baby. The second time we went we had the combination omelette and quail. I need to spy on them next time to see how they make that omelette. My god it was good. Prawns, bbq pork, chicken galore. My boyfriend also got the bbq pork bun. Let's just say this time there was none left to snack on. We haven't eaten in yet but the have kitted out the restaurant very nicely. Lovely orchids on the counter and great hospitality. Good pricing too.
