An excellent bakery slash cafe in Ashgrove. It looks rather popular. I very much enjoyed the cherry danish. The savoury options looked tasty as well. In a world full of chains and franchises, artisan bakers such as Banneton are an asset to the city. Well worth a visit.
Would recommend the cherry Danish😍😍😍
I was somewhat disappointed when I found out they had sold the last almond croissant just before me! Oh well there was plenty of other delights to tempt. I decided upon a scroll which turned out to be super light & flaky with a rich cinamon flavor. It was sticky & delicious with a sumptuous icing
I really enjoy this place. Love the pastry’s and coffee. I’m glad they expanded. It’s good to see a business like this grow to be more successful.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! So lucky to have this bakery as our local bakery. Awesome coffee and of course amazing fresh pastries and baked goods. Yum.
Went to this store today lovely location great bread and the best citrus tart I've ever had in my life. The girl behind the counter was also lovely 10/10.
Excellent, but inappropriate!. You do have to understand girls that you are on full view! I suppose a new tattoo that requires one to lift up their shirt to show their colleague is very exciting but not in front of customers! Excellent food, note to owner, when your away from this shop the staff misbehave.
Happy happy happy. The best sourdough around, especially the olive & rosemary. Every now and then I'll treat myself to the brandied bread which is absolutely yummy. My family always complains about the half eaten loaf that gets home:)
Good choice. Nicest of the Banneton chains. Almond croissants are always a winner and the french girl is very friendly.
Breakfast win. Suggest the Stromboli for maximal hangover recovery, however this does not leave room for dessert. Another day!
Pastries, sour dough & pumpkin scones to die for - love!!
Totally amazing. Was so excited to try this place as so many raved about it and was so glad it was as good as can be delicious coffee!!! Amazing cakes and such great service! Will be going again
An excellent treat. Banneton Ashgrove has some of the finest baked goods to be found in Brisbane. Knowing the bakery options around the Northern Suburbs, its tough competition, however Banneton is no doubt the best choice for that extra richness and luxury. It can be expensive if you want to try multiple items, but each item is so spot-on and filling that you are guaranteed to have eyes that are bigger than your stomach.
Menu highlights include exellent flavorsome Stromboli for a cold day, delicate tarts and Frangipane and conveniently packaged Macaroons. Sandwiches are fresh and very filling with the coffee being noteworthy. The only downside is that atmosphere can be lacking due to Waterworks traffic and crowded pre- and post- school crowds of parents. Its obviously a popular spot, so definitely worth a try, but take-away is recommended.
Wonderful in every way!. Great pastries. Fresh and well made. I have allergies and the staff new exactly what was in everything i ordered without hesitation. A big plus for me! The coffee was perfect and served promptly upon ordering. I also bought some biscuits that had been packaged and they were divine. Highly recommend!
LOVE IT. Refreshing to find a decent bakery in the suburbs. Amazing traditional organic breads. Despite what some people may say about the prices you certainly get what you pay for- I found out they even make the pastrami for the sandwiches themselves. Everything I have tried has been top quality. Love it!
Great coffee. Love Bannetons, great location fills the void in the area as there is nothing simaler within walking distance. Good service, very busy weekend mornings. Bakery items are probably overpriced.
Had there fresh garlic Turkish bread from the Kelvin grove markets. Hot and delicious. I finished off the entire loaf.
Good Coffee. I am a regular coffee drinker and this little cafe has met my standard of acceptable coffee. Although it is located on waterworks road, and it can be very noisy sitting outside, it is in a very nice spot. However it lacked a menu to order from, however the sweets and breads in the cabinet look amazing, but i think they are a little overpriced. Service was good and I would definately go back for coffee and cake.
The Banneton Bakery has been a favourite of mine for years. I can’t go past their delectable pastries and amazing cakes. A Banneton Bakery breakfast The Bakery is inspired by European traditions, bringing the art of wood-fired bread to the customer. They have three permanent retail stores in Brisbane and run two market stores over the weekend. You can find their stores at: - Ashgrove (Shop 3, 584 Waterworks Road) - New Farm (876 Brunswick Street) - Woolloongabba (25 Balaclava Street) Market stalls operate at Kelvin Grove on a Saturday morning and Boggo Road (Dutton Park) on a Sunday morning. Today I visited the Ashgrove store and picked up a salted caramel brioche, cherry danish and much needed coffee. Banneton Bakery Cherry Danish Banneton Bakery Salted Caramel Brioche
I like the sweets and the area. The coffee was delicious but too too cold (disappointing). I will go there to try again.
They got nice bread as well.
My favourite cafe! Their pastries exceed expectations. I was introduced to the Banneton Bakery by a friend who is French. He surprised me when he by-passed all the amazing pastries (they have a large selection) to purchase what looked like a humble almond croissant. I had tried these before at other cafes, it’s just a croissant with slivers of almond on the top right? Wrong. Not at Banneton! The inside is packed with a delicious buttery almond meal. Wow, so good. I have been going to Banneton Bakery for years now. I love it so much we do morning tea there for my birthday. I love so many of their excellent pastries, but I keep coming back for their exceptional almond croissant!
Great little suburban bakery just off the St Johns Woods/ Breakfast Creek pedestrian and bike path. Cool indoor air conditioned seating or outdoors under the shop awning. Good staff, fast and friendly service. Most importantly, everything in this bakery looks good to eat, from pastries to pies to biscuits. Very good coffee, nice atmosphere. This is on our ''to visit again'" list when we ride the Breakfast Creek bike path.
Coffee was great, croissant pretty good, nice feel inside tho can get noisy. Outside nice but was too windy. Can get super busy and parking can be tricky. Consistently good tho.
Always delicious food. Warm toasted sandwiches perfect for cold winters days. Cheerful and artful hot chocolate showing the staffs care and skill.
Sourdough is good and I wanna try every one😽space is lovely and very cosy but comfortable . Definitely will come back often 👏
Great bread and pastries. My girls love their pretzels and gingerbread girls.
I have a real weakness for their cinnamon scrolls.
Also have an amazing selection of sourdough bread.
They do dine in food too which is yum, but we mostly grab food on the go.
Came here for the first time after driving past and spotting it a few months ago. All I can say is the Banana Bread is delicious and the coffee fantastic! It's a lovely setting.
