I may have mentioned before, since the lockdown started, the highlight of my week has been going on grocery runs while trying to find some restaurants to get take away from (when I'm finally sick of trying to cook). Last week we tried out Kebab Palace, which has long been on my radar, since we ran a couple of errands at Garden City. Situated in Palmdale, it was a stone's throw away from Garden City. Arriving at around 6pm, there was a fair amount of customers who had already placed their order and awaited food outside, as well as a considerable line inside.
First time here to the Kebab Palace at Mt Gravatt, after being recommended to try it, so I did.
It's good. Tasty fresh, well presented, clean tasting and nicely moreish.
I ordered the vegetarian pide which which was filled with fresh salad vegetables, feta and mozzarella cheese, oven baked to perfection.
We arrived at 9pm and was steadily busy but got busier from then.
I will be back for more.
Thanks very much. SARDS.
Tried some of their doner kebabs at 50% off thanks to the promotional pricing for their 3rd birthday. I went before 6pm and it was already fairly busy - my 2 kebabs took about 15 minutes due to the backlog of orders, and they were pumping them out!
The kebabs are pretty good value at $9.40 for a large (with doner, chicken, or mixed), and come served with lettuce, tomato, onion, lettuce, and choice of sauce. The ones I tried (1 doner, 1 chicken) were tasty and filling. Not sure if anyone would bother ordering a small which is mostly only 50c less.
always great fresh food and nice staff. clean restaurant and good value for money. I eat here almost once a week and it’s always good
I love the chicken shish from this place. the chicken is amazing! I love that smokiness from the charcoal. It also comes with two dips, bread, rice, and salad.
Absolutely amazing, HSP was so fresh I burnt my tongue! The young man who took my order, Ali, didn't miss a beat on the orders. Would recommend
Oh wow, there is a reason this place is so popular! the tender flavourful smokey grilled meat and the excellent pides and salads. Great family atmosphere.
A very busy restaurant. I liked the taste of pizzas but kebabs were salty and the cutlery can be more clean however still I go there when I want pizza.
Could not fault this place! Ordered a bbq chicken pizza and a Osmanli (mince lamb) Pide and the order was made fresh! Very well priced as well, highly recommended. Could see myself coming back in the next few days!
The smell of this place inside and outside is enough to know the food is really good. The charcoal and sizzling meat aromas can be smelt miles away. We ordered most of the grills which were good but surprisingly the Turkish pizzas were the standout. The lahmacun, sujuk pide and cheese golzeme were really damn good!!
This place smells great from the car park, delicious roast meat and vego options. Middle eastern fare that’s authentic and affordable. Big servings and huge choices
This place is open late and good for those who want to eat out (good food) late at night
Adana Kebab was delicious
Pide tasted really good and fresh
I would definitely go back to try pizza and burgers and more Adana kebab for sure
Big sitting area indoor and outdoor and very casual
Yah m8, get ur cheap kebab from here aye. Good quality and tastes good. Seems like errthing on da menu is good. They also got ayran mofos. You’d be an idiot not to come here braz
Saturday evening dinner with a group of friends - Excellent food, large servings, very fast service, reasonable pricing. Definitely coming back here, a large menu that I need to get through.
If you want some tasty middle eastern food this is the place to go! Really nice looking place, good atmosphere, reasonably priced and friendly service. We'll be back soon to try out some of the other menu items
This isn't your typical kebab store. I was surprised at how big this place was, it had plenty of place for dine-ins. There were so many options on the menu that I didn't know what to get... In the end, I got the lamb cutlets. It was a good portion and tasted great! Would definitely come back to try the rest of the food.
Really good lamb chops, but the kebab was average. Not too happy with the service either, they messed up our order twice with no apology.
Quality of food is decent though, and prices are okay
I have had the pizza, pide and mixed grill here, usually by takeaway as the restaurant is very popular and packed a lot of the time. The pizza and pide are good but the outstanding and regular favourite takeaway is the mixed grill. The wonderfully tasty marinated chicken, lamb and lamb chops, delicious rice and salad and that garlic sauce, oh that garlic sauce.. send me to happy belly heaven.
This place is one of my favourites in Brissy! ❤️
Literally all their food is amazing and the fact you can get it so late at night is even better! All the team their are super friendly and it’s a great atmosphere. 😊
This is not your average kebab place, all their breads and pitas are made fresh in house and the flavours are amazing! Must try!
😍
Had Mix mangal for dinner. Decent portion size and delicious. I highly recommend it. Keep up the good work Kebab Place. I'll definitely be back.
Decent fast food and decent portion size. Turkish pizzeria with burgers and kebabs. Nothing spectacular but reasonable prices.
The pizza was thick crust and included good amount of filling.
The menu on zamato isn't right there is an updated one you can see on their facebook page. In kebab palace mangal and pide the food I specifically love are the pizzas burgers HSPs and EVERYTHING ELSE! I love the food there it is so tasty!
As Meatballs And Beef Cheeks and I walked the 40 metres to Kebab Palace my hunger was primed after our snack at Watany Man-ouchi. We entered and were surprised by the modern design of the kitchen and spotless serving counter. The dining area was well lit and tastefully designed. At the rear of the dining area there was a basin and tap for diners to wash their hands before and after eating. The restaurant was quite busy with Middle Eastern diners so I felt assured of a good meal.
I had decided on a kebab with lots of meat when Mr Meatballs turns to me and says he will have the Chicken Kebab. I see Lamb Steak Kebab and I visualise a meat lovers delight! I ask for the usual toppings and sour cream. We seat ourselves down watching our fellow diners, customers arriving and the kitchen staff at work. With my back to the kitchen Mr Meatballs gives me a running account of how our lunch was being made.
Ten minutes later our kebabs are delivered to our table in 2 neat packages. My kebab was tasty and filling despite the unusually soft flat bread and paper thin slices of shaved lamb. I was after all expecting "lamb steak" as advertised so I was a tad disappointed. We could see charcoal chicken with chips and salad being served. Very nice!
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
+3.5
Joe K and I met for lunch next door at Watany Manoushi (Lebanese), but both agreed that we also wanted to try the relatively new Kebab Palace, which is not your regular run-of-the-mill kebab shop.
In addition to the traditional kebabs you might find elsewhere, they also craft homemade Turkish bread, Pide, Gozleme, Pizzas and charcoal BBQ a variety of dishes to tempt the palate.
On this occasion, Joe and I both opted for kebabs. Joe had the Lamb Steak with Sour Cream Sauce and I enjoyed the Chicken. The kebabs were served wrapped in Aluminium foil, which ensured they arrived hot, but made it a bit difficult to eat.
From the very first bite, something tasted different about these kebabs, more specifically the bread. I thought perhaps that the bread was made in house, but an employee confirmed that they actually buy-in a greek flatbread for their use. It was softer than what I am used to for kebabs and the flavour was just a little different to what I prefer. Otherwise, Joe commented that the lamb steak was shaved a little too thin for his liking, while the thickness of the chicken in my kebab was just right. These rated 3-3.5.
Next time I'll try the Pide or the Charcoal Chicken - both of which looked great.
Great food, great atmosphere, great customer service!!
Have been going there since they opened late last year and the quality has stayed great just like how they started.
Great menu choices and is usaully busy on friday or saturday nights. Good value mixed platters. Just hope they don't up the prices in the future. I will keep coming back.
Only bad things: No table water offered and more cleaning of floors and tables needed.
We've been here a few times and have had the shish plates, pizzas, pides and lamb steak HSPs which I prefer over other HSPs that use doner meat. The meat is tender, full of flavour and our dishes are delicious. The staff are polite and great to deal with. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area.
I've eaten here multiple times and I love it every time. The atmosphere is great, the employees are friendly and the food is amazing. I've had the HSP pizza and the BBQ Chicken pizza, both were delicious with a great base. I have also had the HSP there and it is one of the best I've had ever. Definitely recommend.
Great food options and everything comes out tasting fresh and delicious. Great service and seating also available which is nice. Vegetarian options on offer as well, falafel kebab was one of the best falafel I have ever had.
FOOD =3.5
AMBIENCE =3.0
Great new place and good food. Reasonably priced and they are consistent in their meals. Good quantity and pides and lamb chops are really good.
It’s good place with wide variety to chose from . Often busy during 6:30-9pm so finding table can be difficult.
Also chances of getting order wrong or meat half cooked as they try to make in rush with huge volumes of orders . Usual times food is perfect.
Other than that faced no issue.
It’s good restaurant with fresh food .
Lunch @kebab_palace today and what a delicious feast! 🥰
We had the Mixed Grill, Tasty Lamb Pizza and Spinach and Cheese Pide! 🍕
The Mixed Grill was cooked to absolute perfection, it wasn’t grey inside but wasn’t rear either which I like! I love to pair this grill with the chilli and garlic dip, trust me on this one, you won’t regret! 😉The lamb chop was so soft, the Adana was very juicy, the meat and chicken skewers were marinated to perfection and so soft 🥹
The Tasty Lamb Pizza was next level, the softness of the dough, the spice of the lamb, the fetta and cheese, absolutely delicious! It was my first time trying it and loved it ❤️
My favourite thing that I always order when I come here is the Spinach and Cheese Pide! This one is always a winner in my book, especially with a squeeze of lemon! Yum 🧡
Thank you for having us! Definitely will come again soon 💚
Been coming here for years! Wonderful food! Always busy and thus not always the cleanest. Else I would have given 5 stars for sure.
Also they're the best priced in Brisbane as far as I know. So definitely worth the trip.
Ordered their Chicken Platter. The taste was good but they put the sauce on top of the chicken. The kebab place I go to in Melb. gives the sauces on the side so maybe i expected that. Also the bread was under the chicken and was less than what I expected.
My SIL likes their Peri Peri Pizza.
Overall would rate my experience 8.5/10.
My friend and I were looking for a quick hot lunch.
We were looking for a kebab shop and eventually found it off a small dirt car park at the back and via a ramp. We were intially very unimpressed with our surrounds as everything seemed disorganised and dirty in the shopping square. On entering the shop it was clean and there was some great things on offer.
The kebab shop was terrific inside well laid out it and spacious. It had booth seating and also tables. At the front there was a domed wood-fired oven and a big long counter with four staff members in black aprons.
The menu is quite extensive. It is displayed overhead with photographs as well. There is a terrific variety of hot foods. This includes middle eastern kebabs, pides, golzeme, Italian pizza, American burgers, salads and hot fries/chips too. There is a drinks fridge stocking Bundaberg and other soft drinks and fruit based mineral water drinks.
Displayed under the front counter was six types of Middle Eastern sweets, ie nut and syrup type with walnuts, almonds, pistachios chocolate, eccetera. They looked great and we weren't disappointed, perhaps a little overly sweet... but certainly fresh! We ordered a box to take away.
I ordered a chicken kebab and my friend ordered a lamb golmeze as we needed a quick takeaway. They were both hot yummy and flavourful.
The variety of toppings for the hot food, including ingredients such as prawns, was very refreshing to see.
There was one negative at the end of our visit that spoilt our visit. I had particularly enquired to order something that was quick as we needed to get to an important appointment ( for surgery) and gave her, the lady taking orders, the time line.
While the lovely lady on the counter assured us there was no problem with our choice, this didn't seem to translate to other staff members.
After waiting for a long time and finishing our drinks and part of the sweets to compensate for the wait I enquired about the remainder of our order. I was meet with blunt repeated questioning 'what time did I arrive? ' instead of efforts to fulfil how order or report the progress of our order or any other helpful or reassuring comment. I explained that we had been assured that our choice prior to ordering were foods that would be prepared to quickly and within our time frame. No one seemed to know where the remainder of our food was.?? After no response or action, I asked for a refund which was ignored. Unfortunately there was no quick response forthcoming. We sat again and waited further and finally the last over order was shoved at us across the counter. Along with that came undesirable expressions from some staff seemingly blind to our initial needs and requests and the long wait.
There were only two other people at a table in the shop when we came in, so it would seem there was not a backlog of orders. I noticed nothing cooking on the any of the grills.
Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy our food much after that mainly due to time limitations... trying to eat while driving... but the food was good quality .
I would have liked to have given this place five stars.
Having said that I would go back again if we were in the area and wanted quality hot food.
Had the Chicken Shish with the spicy sauce, absolutely delicious, charcoal chicken, fresh salad, fluffy pita bread and rice. Very filling and a more than reasonable price to pay for such a big meal. Special mention goes out to Omar ! Very quick and friendly service with a smile.
