Get the roti tacos with slow cooked beef!! So extremely delicious. Thanks to these tacos I am now always going to add pickles.
The inside of the cafe looked very inviting and cosy, and the staff were lovely despite how busy this place was
I absolutely love this place!! Best food ever and a great place in general, love the fried rice and roti tacos!!
It has been over two years since the last perfect brekkie here so made a trip to explore it again.
Doubtless, this is the best place for brekkie in the area and I find that it is always full House whenever I drive past by.
Arrived early 7:00am yesterday and I was so lucky to have a parking spot just directly across the road. The follow me and I had the last available indoor sitting.
Ordered a flat white and the Khoo Tom because I like to have something hotdog the cold weather.
The coffee came first to the table with a fine attractive latte art. The Campos brew is no doubt my best favourite.
Next to the table came the savory dish. OMG! It came with eight fish pieces with a perfectly poached egg and many baby spinach. Piercing through the egg to have the running yolk mixed with the aromatic rice soup. It was perfect and very tasteful.
Definitely a full mark review again.

The Laos sausages are so amazing! They surprised us by its unique favors with herbs and ginger, we love it so much😍 Iced mocha also a good try!👍🏻 the pork minced with rice was good but I would love it more spicy 🌶 Friendly staff and Nice atmosphere, I definitely come back very soon!
Went here with the partner and friend for a catch up for weekend lunch. We ordered the Fried Rice with Pulled Pork and the Chicken Pad Krapow Gai. Both dishes were delicious, flavourful with good amount of spices.
Casual ambience - music was a little too loud and we had to raise our voices to hear each other from across the table. Reasonable prices. Reasonably efficient service.
Overall, a good option for fusion Thai lunch.
The dumplings were effing divine. It looked weird at first but after one bite, I was in love. I wanna come back asap and try the other rice bowls (if only parking isn't annoying in West End).
Cold winter mornings and we wanted to do something different than our usual eggs on toast for breakfast. So I let him decide and he opted for brunch at West End Coffee House, a place that his very popular with the locals and had been recommended to us by quite a few of our good friends. . As popular as it was, the place was completely full, inside and outside. We finally managed to grab seats inside along a big communal table which was a little bit of a hazard as quite a few fellow patrons definitely had the flu.
Have been going to this cafe for years
Why go anywhere else?
Great food (always something new on the menu for you to try),
Awesome coffee (with great Barista's making many variants including cold drip) and
Amazing staff (every time they are friendly & efficient).
All in all a great place.
Have had coffee here a few times which has always been lovely. Great coffee and a really laid back vibe. Tried one of the omelettes today and it was awesome. Will definitely be back to try the other items of the menu. What a gem.
West End Coffee House has the Best coffee in west end and all the staff are super lovely! It has a great hustle and bustle atmosphere with amazingly tasty food!
Breakfast and coffee here is a reason to get out of bed! Kao Tom Gai and a black coffee. Or the pulled pork fried rice. Always great service and community vibe
The best coffee and lunch spot in West End and the world! What more can I say??... fresh and tasty food, good coffee, great staff and reasonable prices....
Thai-westernised breakfast...what a unique blend of flavours. If you don't mind wok fried eggs and rice or chilli as a part of your breakfast meal then this is the place to go. With delicious coffee, kind staff and a hip environment there isn't anything to complain about.
It does get busy in the mornings - so come ahead of time or a little later to avoid the rush :)
Amazing Coffee!
I finally got around to trying West End Coffee House after passing the masses that gather there each morning and staring enviously at them enjoying a relaxing start to the day while i shlepped to work on the bus.
I made a quick coffee pick up on a Saturday morning and the coffee was delicious, and despite the long line the service was quick.
One of the few places in Brisbane serving a Thai style breakfast. The menu and the food is cheap and cheerful. The omelette was a light meal and not enough to get me through the morning unfortunately
Great little place with good coffee and friendly service. I really enjoyed the Laos sausages with wok fried eggs and crunchy herb salad served with steamed rice.
The breakfast menu here is infused with south east asian flavours. Really enjoyed the omelette served on a bed of rice. Bright psychedelic artwork and communal seating plan create a nice atmosphere.

North eastern Thai food, considerably authentic, well prepared by actual Thais. Lovely cafe with a small kitchen. kitchen not well ventilated, smoke/smell of burnt food spreads to the entire cafe.
Ordered som thum (green papaya salad), it was okay, not the best one I had, the sourness was just right but it went a bit too far on the salt.
Brownie walnut and coffee is pretty good.
Quaint little coffee shop in west end. Good coffee and friendly service. Great brekkie menu which is quite different and most dishes have an asian twist. Great in a cafe scene all doing very similar menus
I have mixed feelings about the coffee. In the same cup I have chocolate flavours but after a few seconds I am hit with a taste of stale grinds, it almost feels like someone did not clean the grinder yesterday and is paying the price today. The frothing of the milk was rushed and is evident in the lack of silkiness.
enjoyed my visits to West End Coffee House. I'll assume the over-salted haloumi was just an unfortunate once-off occurrence rather than an indication of overall quality. The coffee and fried rice was great. Best of all, I love the atmosphere. Chilled cafes where you can hang out and read and street watch are my favourite. Give me that over a crowded, rushed and overhyped fad cafe any day.
I LOVE this place! Such a lovely, friendly cafe with awesome food and great coffee! The tropical Bircher muesli is fab and keeps me coming back again and again. Other menu items look and sound wonderful too and the portions are quite big. I'll be back again to try them all!
Great coffee. I haven't tried the Thai food yet (have heard good things) but the (Campos) coffee is some of the best in Brisbane. Sometimes a bit of a wait but good, relaxed feel to the place.
Diana. Charming little coffee spot in West End, but what sets it apart from this up & coming coffee suburb is the fact they have an interesting breakfast menu which includes some Thai options. All I had time for was a coffee-Campos-& I have to say very well done & one of their delicious (tasted home made? blueberry & ricotta) muffins. The muffin was huge, moist & fluffy & would highly recommend. The staff here are super friendly & this little spot just buzzes with West End vibe. Will be back to sample breakfast for sure
Trendy little breaky spot, I had the fruit loaf with raspberry butter~ yum, so filling and rich. The poached eggs on toast was also very nice with avocado as an extra. Coffee was brill, they use campos. The space is pretty cool, they have old metal chairs around nice wooden tables and a record player.
Would recommend!
Proof being busy isn't an excuse for poor service.. I was walking past, wanted a couple of takeaways quickly. At first i was a little concerned these guys might make us wait as they had a full house of diners at lunch. No problem. Two fab coffees in 1 min 30 secs. and the shift manager walked the coffees out to us on the footpath with a big smile.
its the little things that make such a difference.
New favourite coffee house. Staff are super polite and they definitely do Campos coffee justice. Meal was lovely too! Thank you for a great discovery.
Excellent. Can not rave enough about the coffee, friendly staff and delicious food!
Excellent coffee & the most fresh and delicious Thai food. The staff are also great & so is the music.
West End Coffee House - Brisbane. This place works on a number of levels that creates a paradigm that could only exist in one of the colourful, characteristic and alternative suburbs that are situated in the inner city. Decor is oldern-style and minimalist. Music is relaxing and done through vinyl with actual record players.
Just outside the door is busy and bustling, but in here many people are either just hanging out and socialising or are on a work break by catching up on a bit of reading. It has that real feel of a cafe. What makes this place one that would only exist in such a suburb that it does is along with the basic breakfast selections, coffee and coffee accompaniments is that this place also has a Thai menu (light options, no curries here).
Most importantly, it all works - surprisingly well. This seemed to be the go to place for the office to get coffees (they are just down the side street) and having a look at it thought I might try this place for a lunch if they did takeaway. They did do takeaway.
The Thai menu is modest but all the items sound really good. I settled on getting a beef larb, a spicy minced meat salad originally from Laos. Since it was a new place to try coffee I also got a coffee and sweet to go with it.
The coffee I chose was called an Iced Cuban which is a nifty little concoction. It was a double shot espresso poured over some ice with a bit of milk and sweetener; a healthier version of the slushie for hot, humid days. To go with the coffee (or eat it later) I got a piece of date slice.
All three of these items were pretty good.
The larb was made from good quality beef mince and they had all the spices you could expect in an authentic larb from a Thai or Vietnamese restaruant. The rice they used was steamed really well, being the clumpy texture known in Thai cooking. Overall, the meal was light and tasty and could fool anyone that it might actually come from a Thai place.
The iced Cuban was the right drink at the right time of day. They used a really strongly concentrated blend for the espresso which took me by total surprise on the first sip, and I had already had a surprise in strong coffee already that day. You can say it is an iced black coffee, and it is absolutely worth trying even on a not-so-hot day.
Finally, the date slice was tasty. It was not overtly sweet - the sweetness only came from the dates as much as dates can be sweet in themselves. The texture was hard and chewey initally but became really satisfying later on. It was welcome as a cake that was not cloyingly sweet and felt like it could be good for a diet.
West End Coffee House has its appeal and it became obivous when visiting for a coffee run. As it was said, only here would such an idea exist and be readily accepted.
Thumbs up. My best coffee p.... Thumbs up.
My best coffee place every morning.
A winning combination. This may be the only place in the world to expertly serve authentic, healthy, delicious Thai food, and superb coffee (Campos). The Thai dishes are light, full of herbs - salads and stir fries, not heavy curries. The cafe has a slightly cliquey environment, as many people seem to know each other, but that's part of the West End charm. It has quirky decor, lots of coffee machines, and too few tables. Worth it for either the coffee or the food, finding both together is pure paradise.
Friend's favorite. My friend is crazy with this place. Coffee is really nice, a bit weak for my liking, but you cannot make a mess with Campos. It has a very relaxed feeling, staff are friendly and attentive, no fuss, perfect. Food was also great and reasonably priced. It is one of must-goes in West End
Thai and coffee? Yes please!. W.E.C.H is one of those places we've walked past a hundred times on our way to somewhere else. After seeing the Thai lunch menu we finally decided to stop in and I'm glad we did. The Campos flat whites were pretty good, just a bit milky. But we find this in a lot of places...I think because we're from NZ we are used to strong coffees so it's not bad, just different. But the food was fabulous. There is a great little Thai lunch menu, it all looks great. Hubby, who was dying of a near-fatal case of manflu, ordered the special, hot and sour beef soup. Tender, melting cubes of beef in this incredibly tasty, sour and spicy broth with heaps of coriander. If ever there was a perfect "flu revival" dish, this must be it. Similarly, my larb was so good. Fresh and clean favours, with perfect fluffy rice to temper the spice. Service was super friendly and fast. We'll be back.
Just had one of the best coffees in Brisbane. Just had one of the best coffees I've had in Brisbane at this non-presumptuous little place hidden around the corner in Vulture St. Had to ask the staff for the name of the cafe, as it's not prominently displayed anywhere. Looking forward to the food menu on our next visit. New favourite coffee place in West End.
Always Good! nice coffee.good sweet stuff. cracking food.i always hear new music too.5 star staff even on weekends. it's always a joy to go here.
Rest In Peace Matthew. Make do and mend furniture, epic coffee and really really yummy Thai lunches at $10 or less ... lovin the analog music system and the caring service ... especially lovin the cooked-to-order Thai food and cold coffee beverages ... Not the same without Matt and Em always in attendance, food is now hit and miss and not having Matt obsessing over your coffee is something I miss ... Rest in peace, buddy ... (update) the furniture is newer, there is airconditioning and the food tops out at around $16, but the quality remains superhigh, drinks are as excellent as ever and the service would give some restaurants a run for their money... a Brisbane treasure
Awesome coffee, even better food. At first it seemed a little odd having Thai for breakfast at a cafe, but it was delicious. Highly recommend! Barista was lovely.
Love it. I really like this place, its become my new fav cafe for a chilled sunday morning breakfast with the fam.
coffee is good, food simple but good and great value. its actually the simplicity of the food that i like. bacon and eggs with a coffee, perfect after a morning swim.
NB: im not sure if the owners have changed. still great food and coffee, but noticed they are doing thai food for lunch. Havnt tried this yet, but looked like great value - will try next weekend.
Bam!. I went for breakfast yesterday and loved it. We went for the coffee (my friend assures me that campos coffee is great but he didn't seem too fussed on this particular cup) but the bacon & egg breakfast with a side of avocado was the real star. $10!!! It was really, really good.
Cute and cosy.. Hidden around the corner from the main Boundary St strip of West End, you can get a great coffee here as well as a cheap and delicious toasty for breakfast. Seriously, I think they put some sort of secret drug in that toasty. It's just really good.
Excellent coffee!. West End Coffee House is a REAL cafe - and without a doubt the best coffee I have found in West End. I usually order an espresso and it's consistently been the right volume, consistency and never over-extracted. Cheap too ($2.50!). The owner is clearly passionate about good coffee and it shows.
It's a small, modest place opposite Indian Kitchen (next to Krishna's Cafe). Perfect for lazy afternoons watching the world go by on Vulture St. Good music plays from the single turntable in the corner. The service is also very good. Just be careful with opening hours as they tend to close up shop kind of early.
The coffee is made by people who know what they're doing and is well balanced and flavourful, and the vibe is chilled and the aesthetic pleasingly shabby and cool.
