Very friendly staff whenever i visit i love their $10 lunch deals. Their chicken is so crispy yet so juicy and service is very fast! May be hidden away in the city but worth the walk
The fried chicken is good, not amazing. I find the original doesn’t have much flavour at all so the flavoured ones are definitely more enjoyable.
By far, this is one of my favourite lunch spots in BRISBANE. Love that the service is quick, so you can get in and out quickly. They have a great value lunch meal for only $10. Their food is so tasty and fresh. I can’t fault this place.
Came here on the lunch special, $10 KFC with rice and small salad. Super delicious amazing value. Coffee was bad though.
Super service, polite and efficient. Lovely menu with plenty of tasty options. I've eaten here 8 - 10 times and have never left hungry or disappointed. Always worth a visit.
Visited late on a Saturday night and thankfully they weren't too busy at the time as it was close to close of business. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, their menu offered a range of Korean chicken dishes and a variety of Korean dishes and meal sets.
We ordered the candied chicken and rice cake - this was delicious! Crispy and tender chicken covered in a sticky sweet and mildly spicy sauce.
We also ordered the egg soup meal set which was satisfying and delicious, exactly what you need on a cold winter night.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've been here multiple times with both large groups (20+) and small and it's always been a great experience. The food quality is always good and service is excellent. Definitely recommended especially if you have a group of friends because it always works out to be so cheap per person if you have a large group and order dishes to share.
Definitely recommend their fried chicken. Can't get enough of it. Sometimes ordering on ubereats is an issue because they dont have their soups on there when i want something hot. But then i order more fried chicken anyway.
Another great place for some great korean style fried chicken. We tried the Korean style sweet chill 9pcs chicken and asked for it to be spicy. It was good level spicy and l loved it. The service here was so polite and humble. Perfect combination of customer service in my opinion. Food came out pretty quickly and it was spot on. Saw a lot of other interesting things on their menu so will be back.
One thing l love is Korean fried chicken. Especially when it's done correctly. Super juicy. And full of flavour. We only got the half size and man was that filling. Crunchy, messy and spicy just how l like it. Excellent service as well.
Great selection of Soju, delicious chicken and highly addictive cheesy fried! This place is everything you want from a Korean place serving fried chicken! Must checkout!
Delicious Korean fried chicken in a bright airy cafe. I've not tried the other things on the menu - but I'd happily go back & try. Helpings are generous, prices are not cheap, not much ambiance though pleasant enough.
Yum yum yum yuuuuum. Obsessed with this place! Crispy, scrumptious, delicious and everything in between 😍 definitely my go-to spot for whenever I need my fried chicken fix.
100% my go to Korean Chicken place in Brisbane. The fried chicken is light and crispy, with a kind of melt in your mouth feel but makes that satisfying crunch sound. Other places batter the chicken too much and it takes forever to chew. The spices that are in the batter are also perfect. 30$ for half and half boneless chicken feeds 3 people (so 10$ each basically!) staff are so friendly and shop fit out is nice and clean.
Great lunch spot. Food delivered fast and delicious. I tried the korean sweet chilli sauce and i have to say it packed a punch. Love the sweet and the after heat that creeps in. By the end of my bowl, I needed some water and I have always pride myself that I can take pretty good heat. Looking forward to return to try other dishes in the menu.
This is the best KFC (Korean fried chicken) in the city period! The bosses are so nice and it seems the whole vibe is a family feeling. The Chicken is perfection and the other menus are pretty good too. The service is sooo much better than other korean places in the city I would come here all the time if I could.
Second time I’ve come to this restaurant and its always been amazing! Honestly the best korean chicken joint in Brisbane. It beats Momo! I definitely love the cheese fries! Not too fond of the mozarella sticks though, the spring roll kind of wrap ruins the cheese and should be deep fried with breadcrumbs instead. Apart from that, the food is so good here and I’d love to visit again and again.
Nicely decorated, good cooking and variety of food. They provide Halal chicken. Quick service and at very convenient location from CBD offices. Highly recommended for coffee and lunch.
Charmed, enticed, and oh so nice!
The lunch menu sang out to me and my consigliere David (Daah-vid).
We entered with one thing on our minds - chicken!
An inadequate, stagnant and non productive morning littered with impending self harm sentiment was soon washed away like the congealed blood that often decorates my bathroom tiles after a heavy spiral of depression. The $10 dollar lunch menu is simply a remedy. The crispness of the chicken crunched, crackled and crucified my taste buds - this is surely how jesus would taste after a long afternoon sun bake. The service - cute, prompt and dependable. The chicken wings (waangs) were the perfect back up dancers to a feature act of chicken teriyaki and fresh garden salad that was pure, innocent and almost not corruptible. My only criticism might be the atmosphere - however this was only down to a few rowdy tech geeks who had started their weekend too early, assisted in part by the beer towers that were standing over their plates.Tell the kittens we will return and we will bring reinforcements!#zomato#zomatofam
Excellent service, delicious vegetarian dishes. Teriyaki tofu bibimbap is a hidden gem. Unique Korean beverages to add to the authentic experience. Definitely worth visiting on a weekly basis
Visited last Saturday with 3 mates, we got the boneless butter chicken and crispy whole chicken, some dirty fries and normal fries. Food was excellent, service was great. The sauces were delicious, My only regret is not eating more! Definitely going back for more of the butter chicken and to try more of the extensive menu.
Best Korean fried chicken in Brisbane.
I never tried other food, but I guarantee this place is the best for Korean fried chicken. Try it!!!!
Korean food catchups! Went on a Friday night a bit past 8 and it was super busy as usual. But with two people, the wait was only around 15 minutes. Got the spicy chickens - SO GOOD, perfect for a sides!! The chicken tasted good but I wish they had it available half size boneless. Overall service was decent, the restaurant was bustling and food was awesome. 👍🏻
Absolutely delicious. Very very fast paced service, so have your menu ready! I had the whole chicken it was absolutely fantastic than any other korean chichen shop in CBD Officially my favourite place to eat in Brisbane
I would recommend.
Sweet chilli chicken is the best in brisbane.
If you want to try fried chicken, this will be perfect choice.👍
you can enjoy coffee as well.
Came here on a weeknight and was great to see the place filled with korean customers. We ordered the fried cheese sticks to start off with which came out a bit cold, but the lovely owner was happy to reheat them at our request. Next was our fried chicken (half crispy, half soy and half original thin batter) that all came with pickled radish, cabbage salad and these long thin crispy treats which my friend could not stopped eating! The chicken was super crunchy, super moist and according to our korean friend very authentic. We had them with the corn cheese and honey batter chips which were insanely good, and washed it all down with the beer and soju combo. A perfect night out for chimek!
Ordered kimchi pancake for the starter. It was okay, nothing special or outstanding.
Ordered the Korean chicken. Was asking for a whole chicken in two sauces but the restaurant charged us for two half chicken instead. The taste was okay, but definitely not as delicious as other Korean chicken restaurants in Brisbane CBD.
Also ordered the Fish Cake Soup. The thinly sliced fish cake is tasty. However, the broth is a bit spicy for me.
The place has a good ambience and good interior design. It was quite empty during Saturday night, probably because the location is a bit further from Queen Street.
Excellent fried chicken - much better the most that I've tried in brisbane, not to mention the place is not yet well known so not as crowded but definitely got some nice decor and new -store sort of feeling going on! I tried the non-spicy hotpot which can feed up to four people and it came with fresh noodles, a kettle of stock for re-filling purposes which I feel was very thoughtful and generous. The hot pot is excellent though slightly pricier than the average but has quality ingredients (whole chicken, ginseng and other healthy ingredients)!
Chi Mc has the best Korean chicken I've had in Brisbane. I have been looking for authentic Korean fried chicken since I moved to Australia 10 years ago, and this is the one that comes the closest to a real Korean fried chicken. We had crispy and sweet chili chicken and both of them were fantastic. The restaurant has cute decor, and they have nice service as well. I would 100% recommend it :)
It is not the typical Korean restaurant with the tofu soup etc. so don't expect it to be like Maru/Funny Funny. I think they focus on fried chicken and some fusion dishes. They serve spaghetti etc too. Chicken wise, have to say it's soooo juicy. Deep fried juicy goodness. I prefer the soy than sweet chilli. Sweet chilli is a bit too spicy for me. Ambiance was nice. Clean and comfy. They do beer towers which go hand in hand with fried chicken. Calamari was tasty and fresh. Can't go wrong with that. They also give you these fried spaghetti, wasn't a big fan. Service was great though. I wish they have the table buttons though. Just makes it easier. Overall it's a great spot. Would come back for the chicken.
I love the fried chicken and hot pot. I recommend trying the hot pot here, It is big enough to share between 3-4 people depending on how big an appetite you have and a reasonable price. My younger brother and I really enjoy dipping the sweet potato chips in the melted cheese that came with the Kimchi aranchini balls we had. It was delicious! There was a good atmosphere inside the restaurant and the owners of the restaurant were very welcoming. I definitely recommend it!
Hands down the best place to get korean fried chicken in CBD. This is the only place around the CBD that I'd recommend to anyone wanting to try Korean fried chicken. Really tasty!
I've tried the honey butter boneless chicken, carbonara boneless chicken, the soy chicken the sweet chilli chicken etc. They're really flavourful! I like the little rice cakes and crispy potato chips - they're a nice addition.
Alot of space for seating too.
Will come back to try other things on their menu!
This place was raved on about from our Korean friends so we decided to give it ago. Classic Korean styled boneless bite sized pieces crunchy fried chicken accompanied with a delicious sauce. We ordered the carbonara sauce just to try something different, however it was too creamy and rich which did not compliment the oily chicken well. We'll stick to the classic honey soy or spicy sauce next time.
Been here a few times and love their lunch special- $19 for half a chicken and a drink. I always order the fried soy chicken and the texture has always been consistent and the chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
My favourite Korean Fried Chicken restaurant in Brisbane –
and ive tried them all!
The staff and particularly the owner are all so friendly and
helpful with ordering.
The food is delicious. Soy and spicy chilli chicken are my
favourite flavours.
There is a wide selection of beers, wines and soju available
all at very cheap prices.
And they even do cheap lunch specials too! :D
So much love for this place- check it out!
Great if you're after high quality fried chicken and crisp beers, which I was! Half serve of original Korean crispy fried chicken and a beer filled me up and was less than $20.
Their Sweet potato fries were great too, for which they let us indulge and add cheese on top. I had NeNe chicken later the same week to compare, but I definitely preferred the chicken here!
If I were forced to complain about something, it would be the cab rank right out front - with multiple cabs sitting there idlong it's a bit fumey, so eat inside and no problems.
I love fried chicken!! This stuff is authentic Korean fried chicken heaven. Crispy juicy and flavourful with generous serving sides for a good price! Not a fan of the calamari but that's not why we came! Definitely recommend this place for fried chicken cravings. Great service
I think we hit a jackpot finding this place! Just outside of the busy Queen St mall there is a wonderful Korean restaurant that is not overly crowded. The pretty owner (maybe manager?) was very kind and welcoming to me and my friend when we came in. The deep fried chicken we ordered was not greasy or oily, which is a welcome change!!!! I really liked the atmosphere and the customer service. One of my friends asked her phone to be charged and the restaurant complied. Very surprised~would never happen in a Western restaurant. I think I will be going back soon!!!
[Updated 20/11/16] I reckon this place serves the best fried chicken in Brisbane. I have tried 4 different types so far and each of them were tasty in their own way. Only depends on your mood on the day really. Owner is super attentive and friendly. New menu is coming out next week and she hinted there will be new items including Spicy Fried Chicken. I'm sold.
Shallot Fried Chicken was so perfectly done. It was lightly curry flavoured, came with a generous jug of mildly spiced sweet and tangy sauce, pickled daikon, and cabbage salad. I fell in love with their fried chicken all over again each time I visit Chi Mc. I could eat here every week.
¤ We dropped by Chi Mc for a quick lunch as well as to check out this new face in the city. Overall look of the restaurant is modern and trendy. It ticks all the industrial themed boxes. Wooden tables - checked. Brick wall - checked. Black accents - checked. It is completed with hipstery fake grass at the front. The shop looks neat and clean. They sure are a well fitted out restaurant.
Move on to the food, they have lunch special ($10) on offer for weekdays. They mostly are variation of fried chicken on rice. Presented themselves as a 'Chicken & Beer' place, we felt obliged to try their chicken. We went with Soy Chicken Mayo on Rice. The chicken has nice crunch and the flavour was pretty good as well. They use sushi rice which has lovely chewiness to it. Spicy stir fried beef udon was cooked well despite being too sweet. I personally think the serving of the udon could have been a bit bigger.
We will probably be going back to try more things.
Brisbane has never been short of Korean fried chicken outlets. With the recent opening of the popular Nene store in the Myer Centre, demand for these delectable morsels of golden deep-fried goodness has never been greater. After joining the impressive line at Nene one Friday night, our hunger eventually won over and we decided to try another new Korean fried chicken store on Creek St instead. With a cool modern industrial fit out, Chi Mc is much bigger than Nene and to our relief, had no line!
Still in its early stages... This little KFC (short for Korean Fried Chicken) shop packs a punch! (opened 21/6/16)
The dining room is adorned in a basic, simple, cheap fitout - a little more spacious than your regular Asian eatery in the city. The menu is fairly extensive, with several other categories in addition to just KFC (NeNe Chicken is mostly just fried chicken).
I've tried the "marinated chicken mayo" lunch special and some of their regular fried chicken... suffice to say the lunch special is nothing fancy (and I wished mine was hot/freshly made).
The fried chicken was great! It had a crispy coating, was freshly made and the chicken itself was quite juicy. I also tried the new NeNe Chicken on Elizabeth St a couple of weeks ago and the chicken I had today was better... (albeit you had a few fewer choices here of how the chicken is garnished)
Half size serving of fried chicken will set you back about $16-17 (the equivalent at NeNe Chicken is $18-20)
Verdict: Quite good - it's close to my office and the price is right. The place has only been open for three days... so I will reserve full judgement till later :D
