Have not been back over two years. I checked it out this morning.
Adopted the same strategy of ordering the “select your own” brekkie. I ordered a dish of poached eggs, smoked salmon and bacon to go with a flat white this time. Service is good and friendly.
Coffee is no doubt above average. I love the food quality that they supply. Culinary skill of the chef deserves thumb up. Bacon slices were cooked to perfection and so as the poached eggs. It is always enjoyable to see the sexy movement of the egg white and the running yolk. Quantity of salmon is also spot on. It is no doubt another full Mark review.

A wonderful Sunday breakfast with friends. Lovely fresh juice, breakfast with lots of dietary restrictions and still received excellent service.
Absolutely loved this restaurant! This is my second visit and I’ve not been disappointed. Me and my partner shared the platter and the food was exceptional and the variety was amazing. Great friendly service and food came out quickly. Could not recommend this place enough! Loved it!
Went here for breakfast and the meal was quick to come out excellent quality and plenty of options on the menu. The service was good throughout the meal. Definitely recommend this place!
Ordered the chicken saltimbocca and was blown away. Had forgotten how much I love this restaurant. Only fall down was the lack of sauce because I wanted more!!
A really lovely option to stop by for any time of the day. Whether you have just a coffee or a meal the food and service is consistently good.

We had the tapas share menu and a bottle of not overly inflated wine, and really enjoyed all of it. I feel the place might be ruled by a over controlling Greek, but hey I ain't complaining.
Nothing but friendly wait staff who want to make your day. :) food is well priced for the servings you get. They're takeaway deals they do are unbeatable
Excellent food and friendly waitress! We went on busy Friday night. We tried 6 different dishes. Every thing was great and I can't complain about any thing! I definitely recommend this place

A slowish lunch the other day; lucky we were not in a hurry. Very relaxed staff. Business types lunching. Barramundi special...no complaints. OK coffee. Several glasses wine. Easy parking, as compared to the egregious Park Rd precinct. A welcome suburban vibe in perfect spring weather.
Great food and service. Had spiced lamb ribs followed by orange and almond cheesecake. AMAZING! Love the new Tapas and Dessert menu.
Went here for lunch, and had the most delicious array of tapas. The spiced lamb ribs were one of the best things I've ever tasted! The orange and almond cheesecake was also fantastic. Will definitely be coming back!
Great Sunday Breakfast. I have breakfast at Salt occasionally on weekends, tasty eggs benedict and good coffee.
Pretty good for a cafe. Couldn't fault anything. Food was good & friendly staff. Will be back to try lunch

Really pleasant lunch :). I was a bit surprised to read the other recent reviews that found the waitresses rude. I lunched with my husband on Sunday, Salt was quite busy, but we were quickly shown to a table and given a menu, by a really polite and friendly waitress.
Our orders were taken quickly and efficiently, and water appeared and was regularly topped up.
The food was a Sirloin Steak Sandwich which my husband found to be really tasty, and i had corn crumbed Calamari and brown rice salad. The Calamari was melt in the mouth delicious, and the salad was fresh and tasty.
I require Gluten Free foods, and there was a lot of choice clearly marked on the menu.
We really enjoyed the lunch, and will definitely be back there soon.
We started with the calamari and pork belly entrees. Both were really delicious although the skin of the pork belly could have been crispier. For mains we got the crispy skin salmon and eye fillet steak. Both were delicious! Our waitress (Indiana) was very friendly and courteous. We're very particular with service but we were impressed at Salt. Will be returning!

having dined at Salt previously and finding it over priced and under delivering I was pleasantly surprised when I visited for some brunch today. The menu had changed (fruit toast w cinnamon cream cheese - so good), the service was so so pleasant and thoughtful (bub says thanks for the free bubbacino) and the food was delicious and generously proportioned.
We had such a pleasant time - I wish the staff at other cafes were as good at making their guests feel at home! Good work Salt!
Excellent food. We had a lovely evening at this restaurant recently. Our meals were skilfully prepared and very delicious. The menu is well priced, and there is an excellent selection of food to pick from.
The only thing I can say is if you want to have a nice dinner for two make sure you book, so that you get a better table. We were next to a very noisy bunch of cackling women next door and made dinner conversation a little difficult. Apart from that it was a wonderful experience, and will be returning.
Favourite. I love this place, especially for breakfast.
I have eaten here more than any other place in Brisbane, and the Potato Gallette with salmon is great, I get it almost every time. And the coffee, is in my opinion, the best in the area.
I have had most of what is on the menu and it doesn't disappoint and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Food amazing. I've been to salt 2-3 times and each time I cannot fault the food. It is delicious. All the people I've eaten with there love it also. Might be expensive but worth it I think. Classy atmosphere also and good service. We waited for 45 mins for main but they gave complimentary sides. Will be going back.

Good Breakfast.. Chose this joint out of a myriad of other breakfast/brunch places in Rosalie. Will admit that we didn't go here for the express purpose of visiting Salt, opted to eat there because the place we were chasing had closed down. Pretty glad we did though.
Breakfast was excellent and very affordable. I had the Potato Gallette, with salmon, turkish bread, diced avacado, onion jam and poached eggs covered in hollandaise. My dining buddy had the Simple Fare poached eggs with honeyed bacon, roasted tomato and turkish bread, which he assured me he thoroughly enjoyed.
Finished with an enormous mug of soy chai and a banana smoothie, which the baristas are more than happy to add honey and cinnamon into, free of charge, at your behest. The whole thing came to under $40 :)
The only downfall was the service of the wait staff. Kitchen and bar staff were pleasant enough, but the waitresses are slow, inattentive and detached.
Despite this, I will definitely be going back, perhaps next time to sample the dinner menu.

Sunday Breakfast. If you are after a really sweet fix, I recommend the Chocolate French Toast. Just a warning though, it's huge! The salmon omelette was also very nice too. This was my second visit and on both occasions the service for breakfast was prompt and friendly
Just enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Salt. The steak was perfect, hubby enjoyed his coq au vin and the deserts were incredible. The staff were great with our kids too. Thank you Mario and the team, can't wait to try out the breakfast menu.
My only complaint is you ruin breakfast for any where else in Brisbane! Great food, great staff... YUM!
I like Salt but if you are going for brekky - forget going for a lite on. I'm not inn for poached eggs done in a egg poacher! I like the freshly poached in water! Mind you their provincial scrambled eggs are tge best in town. Shame they are not on the weekend menu!! Coffee is one of the better places in paddo/Rosalie.
One of the best breakys I have ever had and very swift! I did however feel sorry for a group of 5 girls that wanted to dine there, the waiter didn't make any effort to re arrange tables for them which could have easily being done as there was spare areas! We had eaten and were ready to leave while they were still waiting! It took another patron to suggest to the waiter that they would move to accommodate these patient girls! Anyway I'm sure it would of being worth the wait! 10/10 for the food.
Yeap most of the other comments are right they do get fussy on weekends and they have a limited menu then also. Why they are always full and they want to actually make money. I've always had great experiences there even when they have been short with me and busy. A well run business and goo food I think a few people should realize how many businesses go under so it's good to see one stick to it's model and still be busy Well done
Very Impressed. Went to this little restaurant on a whim (as we usually do this sort of thing when we feel like eating out). I was very impressed.
Setting was great, warm friendly with nice decor and comfortable seats. We had the added bonus of a guitarist playing which was a nice touch. Service was prompt and efficient, food was excellent in presentation and taste and we had a great bottle of wine from what is an extensive list for a small restaurant of this sort. Prices were reasonable and overall we had a great experience.
The menu is uncomplicated and not too cluttered. In other words, they try to do a few dishes and do them all well than try and do everything and do it all average.
We will be back!

Rosalie cornerstone. This place has been a solid mainstay of the Rosalie cafe culture. Possibly Brisbane's best coffee and a great menu that changes regularly.
The staff are one of the best things about this great cafe. Although there seems to be a significant change in recent times the "veteran" staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.
If there was one downside it would be that it's a little pricey.
A breakfast treat. Not cheap for breakfast (around $20 per dish) but there's LOTS of yummy food on the plate, thoughtfully combined to make for a filling and delicious start to the day. For a place that's so busy, our food and coffees came out amazingly quickly - almost thought we were at a Chinese place instead. On the downside you do feel a bit rushed on weekend breakfasts when you're trying to relax, but sitting within view of the queue of hungry punters waiting to get in!
Great weekend breakfast, but get there early as it gets packed. Good coffee and consistsnt service and quality.
As I have mentioned in a previous post, Lure on Latrobe has my favourite breakfast muesli but I think Salt's has just over taken it. The marinated strawberries brought a nice sweetness to the yogurt and worked perfectly with the mango and raisins. I would definitely order this again. As all meals at Salt, the portion size was generous and I was left feeling extremely satisfied.
To me, Salt was the ultimate 'lucky find'. We stumbled in not knowing what to expect and instead, found a lovely restaurant that does great coffee and dessert. It was one of those occasions where everything from food and ambiance to service and price was
