This is an awesome little fish and chip shop that used to be my local. As I work in the area I still drop in regularly. Not many places you can get a meal for yourself and the kids for under $25 and have them eat all of it
Our local fish and chips, always quick (although I do recommend calling to place an order as they do get very busy) and friendly staff on hand. Fish is always cooked well and they are happy to do a mixed order for the family packs to satisfy my taste for grilled, my husband’s for battered, and others for crumbed. Chips are always delicious and freshly cooked too. Big portions, good value and we are repeat customers. I think we need to try the burgers next!
Brilliant!! First time trying this place and will definitely be back. Burgers homemade potato scallops savnbatter where great best ever.😋 they were really busy but still managed to get my order within 15 minutes
I eat here way to much. The burgers are soooo good. Twice as good as the big name shop across the street. Everything is always cooked well, and fresh. Never had a problem in all the years we have been going. Occasionally you will get small potato scallops so they throw extra ones in to make up for it! I have introduced many many people to this place and all of them have loved it.
One of the best Fish N Chip shops I have been too in Brisbane. I have lived in the area for over 5 years and would not go anywhere else .The food is fantastic and would recommend to everyone to try. Very quick and personable service. Thanks Mary and crew
The best fish and chips in the north west. Cooked perfectly and super reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly and we've never had to wait long.
Now I love seafood and this place has saved us a few times when in need of a good seafood fix. Staff are always welcoming and lovely. Plus the good is reasonably priced and generous. Although last time we did receive to much salt on our chips but hey it's a tiny criticism. Yummy and will definitely fill you up to satisfaction!
Top marks for this place, I had the calamari and chips which were cooked beautifully and a decent size. For aprox $10 you can't go wrong with this place.
This is my local fish and chip joint and they always have great fish. Although it is busy I never have to wait long. The only low point for me is the average chips. I highly recommend the crumbed calamari and prawns, they are both amazing.
Mary's has the best fish,fresh salad,great chips,when you have tried the best you won't try any where else. We wait until we get home from beach to have it. Friendly service clean shop a weekly treat.
Never disappoints…! A great reliable local fish and chips shop which does great chips and simple but delicious burgers. Nothing fancy, just yummy food! Also great value for money.
The perfect suburban takeaway shop. Always friendly staff, service is quick even when they are super busy and the food is always above average. The burgers are the bees knees and my personal favourite is the bacon and egg burger.
One of the northwests best Fish and Chips shops, the service is friendly and you never have to wait long even though it is often busy. Fish, chips and calamari are well above the average for the area.
Mary's Seafood and Takeaway is a busy place. They do nice fish and chips and generally have a few fresh options to choose from. They also do burgers and the usual takeaway fried foods (dim sims, potato scallops etc).
Old school is the best school. Mary's isn't fancy..... nor does it need to be. It is one of those great treasures stuck in time from days gone by. The fish and chip shop where the chips are never soggy, the burgers melt in your mouth, the seafood is fresh and doled out in generous quantities - and the price is always right.
Mary's is an institution on Blackwood Street, and one that locals keep close to their heart. Even if you don't live in the Northern suburbs, I'd highly recommend giving Mary's a go.... you won't be disappointed.
The burgers are TOO good, consider yourself warned. This is a great little shop, the seafood was great but once we got the burgers we were hooked! Very good prices for the quality.

Fabulous food & friendly service!. I love this place! They cater for lunch needs from healthy garden salads and sandwiches to naughty deep fried treats. Try a home made potato scallop cooked to perfection! My husband and I often frequent this place for a grill fish dinner on the weekends which is always great too. The food is great value and Mary and Lee are the most friendly shop owners around. They even remember my regular sandwich order.

Best food, cheap prices.. Mary's Seafood & Takeaway has got to be one of the best takeaway places on the northside of Brissy!
My boyfriend and I are regulars diners at this Mary's, and we travel from over 20 minutes away in order to purchase our fish and chips, seafood baskets, works burgers, dagwood dogs, potato scallops, and chicken schnitzel burgers from Mary's. The food is always fresh and well-cooked, there is none of the greasiness of other fast takeaways, and the prices are so reasonable considering the quality of the food. The works burger is my absolute fave .... what other little takeaway shops out there take the time to toast your hamburger bun?!? And when you ask for chicken salt on your chips, you can actually TASTE the chicken salt! The service is reasonably fast - orders are ready in 10 minutes tops. And the staff are friendly and accommodating, especially to returning customers. Blackwood Street Mitchelton where Mary's is located, is such a lovely little street to explore with all of the bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, and op shops in the area.
My only criticisms of Mary's Seafood & Takeaway is that there aren't enough tables and chairs for customers to sit down and eat if they are dining in, which my partner and I always do seeing as we travel from a fair distance away (dont want all that yummy food to go cold!) But we've been lucky so far to always find a spare table and chairs, as most of the customers to Mary's appear to be locals and dont stay to dine in.
Do yourself a favour and when you are next in the mood for takeaway food, head on over to Mary's Seafood & Takeaway. I can guarantee you wont be disappointed. :)
Great Seafood. I really like Mary's for a quick bite. Hands down the best seafood take-away around. Their battered&crumbed fish is good. there bacon & egg burgers are great, and the hamburger with the works is a personal favourite.
Yum Yum Yum. Great burgers, delicious chips and all round good seafood. Fish sometimes overbattered but all in all a great fish and chips shop!
Mary’s seafood is a prime food establishment in the Mitchelton area. It’s a very popular eating spot and take away for the locals for sure. The food is always fantastic and whenever need seafood it’s the place to go. Would recommend! And their chips are so great too! fantastic service as well always.
After eating at Mary’s seafood, I will no longer be accepting burgers with less than an entire cup of gravy on them, after having seen first hand the amazing flavour success that can be achieved with large quantities of gravy. I’d give it 6 stars if Google let me.

Burgers at Mary's are delicious, filling and a great price. If you want an ole school burger, that tastes like a good burger should, do yourself a favour and grab a few burgers from Mary's on Blackwood St, we got chips as well. So good!

Delicious bbq onion ring burger, great calamiri and grilled barramundi fillet. All really well prepped good flavours simple and delicious. Fat beef pattie on the burger.
This is an ideal hang over food super greasy and chicken salt for days. Potato scallops reminded me of my child hood and was very reasonably priced. The photo is of the seafood for two
