Review Vietnamese Avachat Cafe - Brisbane

This is my 3rd time here and I've never been disappointed. Tonight our family had chicken wings, fish cakes, beef pho and crispy chicken with rice. All the dishes were amazing!! We finished off with banana dessert which delicious. This Vietnamese restaurant is now our family favourite in Brisbane.

This is a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant. The best Pho we have had in Brisbane. Friendly staff and wonderful Chef. They always make us feel welcome and the food is fresh and delicious.

Had a great meal from Avachat - the chicken pho was delicious, hot and fresh. We had the chicken curry and it was also tasty.

Delicious takeaway! Got the chicken pho and lemon grass tofu for mum and I night in! Best Vietnamese in Brisbane hands down, the ingredients are fresh and they are so thoughtful, waiting till I arrive to put the fresh steamed rice in the takeaway dish ! :)

Amazing beef spring rolls and pho.. can’t wait to return and try more.

Wish I had known about this joint sooner! Used to drive to Inala or Sunnybank Hills from northside to quench my cravings for rich broth of pho. Avachat Cafe delivered that!

Good, authentic Vietnamese. Clever idea of putting lettuce between rice paper rolls so they don't stick together. Lovely service and even gave us free drinks because of the wait time. Awesome.

Love it. Beef pho and crispy chicken are great. Very friendly staff. Our favourite local restaurant and takeaway. The Vietnamese coffee is good too.

A secret local gem - you'd never know it was there, but it's worth hunting down. Authentic, delicious food in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Nice and fresh for summer and the pho hits the spot in winter

This is a classic 'hole in the wall' affair where you expect bitsy decor but great tasting authentic food at a great price. We were very pleased with the make-your-own sugar cane prawn rice paper rolls, (one of my personal favourites), but the flame grilled chicken was surprisingly meager and underwhelming for the price of $18.50. It took a bit long to come out too. The waitresses were friendly and helpful but didn't seem to know the business all that well. All in all it was a positive dining experience but nothing to rave about.

Looks can be deceiving. I doubt I would have found this restaurant, or eaten there if it wasn't for the recommendation of a friend. Now I'm regularly popping in to order "Mum's Fried Rice". I love this dish so much that I'm yet to try anything else on the menu!

I was really looking forward to trying this local Vietnamese restaurant after reading many good reviews. Unfortunately what I received was bland pho, watery/tough/bland pork belly and watery/tough/bland tamarind ribs. There was none of the expected punches of flavour and a complete lack of herbs and freshness was very disappointing. Needless to say I will not be going back.

Service is a tad slow and the decor isn't anything fancy but the food is delicious. We ordered two beef pho which surprisingly came with other goodies that traditional Vietnamese restaurants offer such as beef balls, sausage, brisket. The portions is decent too. We're glad to have found a good Vietnamese restaurant on the northside :D

Tasty and fresh Vietnamese. Love the beef vermicelli salad. Beef pho a recommendation for winter. Trying very hard for the space they have.

Best beef Pho possibly in Brisbane. Warning ... the service is not always that good, the young girls are pleasant but obviously very inexperienced and easily distracted. Also meals can take longer than usual to come out. However the meals are good. My girlfriend is Vietnamese and she loves the place. The Pho noodles have to be the best i have ever tasted, easily better and more traditional than what I have gotten in Sunnybank. If you don't mind hit and miss service and aren't in a rush this is a fantastic little restaurant!

Disappointing.. Dont do it!! The service is bad, the food is very average, it took forever and the meals are small and over priced.<br/>We had high hopes for this restaurant because we love Viet food and it is hard to come by out this way but unfortunately we left disappointed and ripped off.

Meh!. My partner suggested we go here this evening and I said: "Must we? The food is good but you never know if it's open, the service is cr*p and if you sit outside the mozzies tuck in." <br/><br/>Anyway, we landed up at Avachat - it was open but the young ladies, although sweet, provided terrible service. After 15 minutes I had to wave them over to come take our order. At which point I might add, I had to ask for water. <br/><br/>Our water arrived, eventually. Then our food, eventually - all of it. Starters and mains to the teeny tiny two-person table. "Oh, sorry, do you want us take your mains away and reheat them." <br/><br/>"Yeah, no. We'd rather keep it in our sight given how long it took to get here and the level of ditziness going on here. How 'bout some utensils?"<br/><br/>Food was delish, so we're my exposed body parts judging by the mozzie bites.<br/><br/>Can't go back though. Can't recommend it to anyone. <br/><br/>I hope the lovely people who own this restaurant take heed and sort their waitress issues out, because there is a limit to loyalty.

Food.. At Vietnamese avachat café, they had great service, great food and a friendly welcome. So many delicious items on the menu the only problem was how long it took to decide what to order! Compared to El Taco, avachat cafe heaven on earth! El Taco was completely empty and the food from why I saw looked extremely unappetising. I would definitely recommend avachat caféto any friends in the area!

Avachat losing its lustre?. "Your order will be ready in 15 minutes" 45 minutes later (and 20 minutes after having paid for it), I finally received my takeaway. The only one other people in the place (seated at a table) still hadn't been fed by the time I left. I felt sincere pity for these poor, forlorn souls.

Prawn and Pork Rice Paper Rolls. Yum! But even better with fresh Vietnamese Mint!!

I haven't been to this restaurant in over 5 years and came here tonight. I was happy to see familiar faces. The food was delicious! Just as I remembered. I was glad to see that the food and even the decor hasn't changed!! Yum! I am sooo full as I had to try everything. Thanks!

Best noodle. I have to admit that I'm addicted to Vietnamese noodle, and it's the only restaurant offer the real taste of Pho in Brisbane. You should have a go

One of our favourite locals. My partner and I eat here every few weeks - we just love it! The food is great and I have to give a big shout-out for their coffees. With three blends to choose from, any coffee lover will be satisfied.

Disappointing. Such a shame this place disappointed, as there are hardly any good Vietnamese nearby aside from West End/South Bank area. Our food took a really long time (45 min+), the staff were young and inexperienced (not their fault I know but would be good to have at least one staff member who knows whats going on). The food was bland, and the sauce that came with our meal tasted suspiciously like the brand we buy from the supermarket. I really wanted this place to be good!

The best Pho outside of Vietnam!. Went for a quick lunch on Sunday & was blown away by the food. The Pho was delicious, as was my partners' dish (can't remember what he had). Friendly service as well. So glad we've found this place!
Gosh
First timer. Love our vietnamese food, however were a tad disappointed with this one. Small menu and then a few things were unavailable. Credit to young inexperienced staff who did a good job considering. Love to try suburban relaxed eating.

Absolutely Fabulous!!!. I'm not sure if the people giving bad reviews have gone to the right place... this restaurant is possibly my favourite place to get dinner!! I don't normally write reviews and I felt like I needed to create this just to get the word out that these bad reviews are not true to the store. <br/><br/>There is limited staff (I only ever see the one waitress working there and I go in on different nights each time!) so I can understand when they have their hands tied with dining customers as well as take away orders that they can not be as attentive - however the are constantly apologetic and always work with a smile. The waitress is always up for a chat and really seems to enjoy her work including customer interactions! (I also like that they use your name when speaking to you). <br/><br/>The food comes out at a reasonable time considering the quality, taste and presentation! Although the range of dishes is not very large, they are all delicious and it's always so hard to choose which one I want! Definitely worth checking out, but make sure you book because the locals are loving it and the store can often fill out fast!!!

Horribly rude service. We booked a table for 4 and ordered entrees, which were served in a reasonable time and were tasty enough, however the bones from the chicken wing entree were still left on our plates when the first main was served (they had been sitting there like that for some time, and the restaurant was not full). The request to have the bones removed and bowls provided from which to eat our mains was met with the second main slammed on the table, and the dirty plates removed with a whip of the waitress' arm that left chicken bones spread across the floor that were not cleaned up for the entire duration of the meal. The service from thereon remained terrible. I guess you are meant to eat your main off dirty flat plates filled with bones from your entree, and don't dare ask for anything better. I'll never go back after being treated like that. There are too many good places to eat to suffer such rudeness.

Worst service I've ever encounter the only thing stopping me from walking out was my conscious

Love it - a healthy, tasty, refreshingly cool no frills place to eat. Will of course be back!

I love this place. The food is authentic the service is good and the prices are great.

Very disappointing. Are these rave reviews for real? We were badly misled by them, and found the food here very disappointing. Both our main dishes - braised pork belly and ginger chicken - were, in terms of flavour, bland and uninteresting. AND the chicken was actually textured soy protein!!! This is decidedly NOT on, even if the price is only $15. This was our first visit, but frankly we will not be back.

Local Favourite!. We've dined here a couple of times and have always been keen to go back. Really yummy food and super friendly service!

Excellent Food - Excellent Customer Service. Great place to grab a bite to eat, whether its just a casual dinner between friends/family, a dinner with your loved one or takeaway to spoil yourself! Food is always fresh and beautiful - and all meals are really well priced (so cheap!) The staff are lovely as well !! This place is real gem!

A great small business, good for a relaxed meal. Hue style beef noodle soup is my absolute favorite! Highly recommended.
Flossy Broccoli
Tasty and reasonably priced. I've tried two of the mains and an entree so far and I've found the food to be light, fresh and tasty. The meals were made quickly and the staff were friendly. I've only had takeaway from this restaurant and would suggest that if you are considering eating at the restaurant, that you need to make a booking as it is very small and can't seat many people. I will go back for more as I like Vietnamese food and this restaurant does a good job of it for a good price.

Got a takeaway. Restaurant looked nice and cosy. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was very tasty, just not worth the price IMO. I can get the same thing at Little Saigon at Rowes Arcade food court At lunchtime but for half the price. I'm sure dining in would be a different story.
Marcus
Staff are really friendly and the always use your name when talking to you! Such a refreshing change to service. Fresh food at cheap prices. Great for a quick meal!

Definitely our favourite local restaurant! The food is delicious, fresh and tastes are balanced, I love everything on the menu!! The owners, Jimmy & Vivien, are always friendly and take the time to sit with you and tell you about their food and what is new on the menu (which changes seasonally). We come here at least once a week and are never disappointed.
