I love this place. It’s a great bar and the food is so yum! The only negative was the fact that the waiter who brought our food to the table couldn’t tell us what dish he had which made it difficult to determine who had what. Especially when some of the guests had vegan meals.
Really good food here, and a superb comedy venue. Loved the beef ramen noodles and will definitely come back for chow Tuesday.
Try the whole menu when you come, share some plates and have a laugh!
Food was pretty good - Karaage chicken was yum, a little spicy but still good! But the best part was the service, the guy taking our orders was hilarious and looked after us all night. Would recommend and will go back just for the great service!
You gotta try these cheeseburger spring rolls, abit pricy at $5 but the flavours were interesting, with a smoky cheeseburger taste wrapped inside a crispy shell. The bar itself has a chill vibe, the booths are a great place to have some drinks with friends, definitely will be returning!
Heyabar is a funky American style bar that oddly serves Asian style food, but I'm ok with that because it provides for a unique setting with great food. We tried the cheeseburger spring rolls after the waiter suggested it, lucky we did because I loved them. The sauce to go with them was on point! The gyoza whist fresh and texturally great, could do with some more seasoning though.
The highlight of the meal though, was the ribs... Wow. The meat was tender, and covered in a sticky sweet sauce and topped with fresh chilli. Just, amazing... And only $26!! Do yourself a favour and try them...
I was a massive fan of Brunswick social & used to visit about once a month.
Being disappointed by it changing, I hadn't made it back to it's latest reincarnation until now.
I was impressed.
It served my purposes for the evening, certainly not a quiet, yuppie place.. by any stretch of the imagination. There is an active pool table, a couple of arcade games & pumping music.
Ate quail, popcorn chicken, kingfish & cheeseburger spring rolls.
I know other reviews like the cheeseburger spring rolls, I thought it was an abomination to my taste buds... That being said, it tasted exactly like a McDonald's burger in a spring rolls. Curiosity now fixed & glad I tried it.
Everything else was great.
The service was knowledgeable & invitingfor the most part, offering suggestions on both drink & food.
I didn't really like one of the barmans friends who was loudly making vomiting noises while playing pool.. not great for the paying customers.
Overall an enjoyable evening & I'll definitely be going back.
The drinks here are moderately priced and the fusion street eats are definitely worth a try. I would highly recommend trying the Kung Pao Chicken wings and the chicken popcorn- so delicious!The street eats menu is half price on Tuesdays, so if you're looking for an excuse to drink on a weekday, give Heya Bar a go :)
My wife and I have eaten here several times and have only heard good things about it so I would highly recommend dropping in for a light snack or a drink. Our favorite dishes are the cheeseburger spring rolls and the soft shell crab bao. They have a few games and stuff to keep you occupied if you plan on making a day of it and the drinks are reasonably cheap for the valley. Only thing is it's very enclosed with little to no light.
Overall I'm very happy with this place and I will definitely be sure to drop back in for a drink next time I'm nearby.
I'd heard good things about the food here and I was keen to try the cheeseburger spring rolls. Although the pricing was a bit expensive for spring rolls, they are 'gormet' and they delivered - they tasted like cheeseburgers. Good one
Great Spot! Lively and Open Monday through to Saturday till late. Great atmosphere for dinner and casual drinks (and the cheese burger spring rolls are a crowd pleaser.)

Heya Bar is inspired by the street markets of Southeast Asia. Equip with cool neon signs, pin ball machines, and cushy booths... this place is bursting with character. No wonder why it has become one of our fav spots in the valley. The menu offers a great variety of fun drinking food (ie fun, little nibbles that pair nicely beer, cocktails, etc) Some of the highlights are: Cheeseburger Spring rolls, Sirracha Cheese Fries, Pork Ribs, Bacon & Mushroom Gyoza, and the Crab Chiko Roll! If you are looking for a new after work drinks spot with your crew, we highly recommend a visit to Heya Bar! They even have Espresso Martini slushies.... Enough said.
Super chill spot to catch a drink with friends and have a cheeky game of pool. Like most places in the valley, this place can be super busy on the weekends, but if it's your scene its worth the wait. Staff have always been lovely and attentive whenever I've been.
We love this place, it's our favorite place to go in a Thursday night. Super cheep drinks free pool and amazing food. The staff are really funny and quite often come over and have a chat on how you are, we like that would definitely give it a ago if you have never been
An interesting underground culture space. The bar is open until the small hours, serving tasty craft beers and snacks. It has pool tables and a smsll performance theatre. Good atmosphere, worth a visit.
Absolutely love Heya! So good to have a couple of quiet drinks and some food before heading out to louder, crowdier clubs. They also have pool and pinball machines. The dancefloor is pretty good too.
What a great bar! Have been years ago with friends and recently went with hubby on a date night! Service from staff was friendly and welcoming & atmosphere was good.
Tried the cheeseburger springrolls & karage chicken with our drinks! The Springrolls are very yummy, flavorful and everything a good springroll should be!
