Explored this espresso in the morning. First step in and sensed that it should be a busy cafe by visual judgment of number of staff working on the floor and the passion from their friendly greetings. Ordered the flat white and the House Cured Salmon with Avocado. It took reasonable timeframe to have my coffee on the table. It was a nice strong coffee with professional pouring technique. Afterward, my brekkie was on the table which came with nice presentation of thick cut cured salmon pieces on top of the pan-fried potato, pea & feta cake. Generous portion of avocado mixed with rockets with yoghurt dressing. The combination of sourness and saltiness balances with the avocado. If they can reduce the saltiness of the cured salmon and soften the texture of the salmon, it would gain more marks. Overall, it was a decent experience.
Decent food, the sweet potato cakes are a must try. Vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Friendly staff, wide selection of treats. Couldn't ask for more.
Love the coffee!
Love the food!
Love the service!
Love the vibe!
Visit a few times a week and never disappointed/ great value for money and the food is always fresh and delicious! Thanks for being amazing pod!
With the temperature nudging 40 degrees on a continual basis these days, it can be a challenge to find a cafe with a bit of aircon. Thankfully, this little gem of a place on Brisbane's north side is chilled, both in temperature and ambiance.Pod Espresso in Stafford provides a little foodie oasis for those who need to cool down their brow and fill up their bellies. A new summer menu keeps things interesting as well for the locals.
Love this place. Great coffee, great service, great pricing and I'll always dream about their blueberry bagel with raspberry marscapone, strawberries, toasted coconut and maple syrup.
An absolutely amazing cafe that offers more than just an eggs benedict. Imagine smashed pumpkin with halloumi and a beetroot purée; sweet potato cakes with capsicum and tomato purée. Yum! Between the two, I think the pumpkin won, but it was a tough choice.
Only letdown was the service - they obviously knew their regulars, but for first-timers, we did feel a bit invisible! You have to order at the counter, and even fetch your own table water.
Really nice local cafe with great cake options for gluten free and vegan. Their granola is to die for!. Child and dog friendly. Very friendly staff.
SOUNDING SUPPORT. I begin my review in reply to another reviewer's comments. Firstly, not at all sure of the remark about the food having gone downhill – on the contrary I would have to disagree. For me, the flavour continues to delight and may I say pleases my tastebuds (in an orally orgasmic way) every time I'm there (sadly for me, I can only experience such pleasure on 2 anticipated days a week - I count down the hours and minutes on those days, until I can enter into my 30 minutes of bliss). There, I encounter the agonizing decisions between which Turkish bread filling to have, along with those OMFG desserts to treat my 10,000 tastebuds to (never mind the fact on some days, I just about buy the shop out – minor details really, when you think about how many you have to satisfy).
It’s all a bit of a frenzy in the decisions that need to be made, but between my tastebuds and my sanity (thus the 30 minutes of relaxing and recharging bliss) I not only count my blessings to experience such wonder, but appreciate the ‘Pod’ experience as a whole.
Which leads me to my second response to the other reviewer’s comment. I think one of the reasons I love going to Pod Espresso so much, is not just about the food but also the service. Although I’d have to say, it really is less about service and more about the atmosphere – especially in the easy-going style between staff and customers akin. Who wants prim and proper served with their coffee/food? It’s not a 5 star restaurant but a fun, chic, relaxing, refreshing and welcoming lil coffee shop. One where casual and carefree yet delightful and dedicated, is what makes Pod Espresso the hip place that it is. It holds a uniqueness that most coffee shops lack – you forget that it is exactly that and are constantly reminded, of their ability in allowing us let go of our stresses for a moment, whilst tucking in to some seriously sensational savouries and sweets.
I feel sad for you that you found their conversation offensive – I myself enjoy the light hearted banter, even if there are a few of the ol’ cheeky comments thrown around from time to time. Makes for a nice change to have a genuine exchange amongst those who are a part of the Pod pool (staff and customers alike), as opposed to the pretentious service one has to endure too often, at other places of business in this current corporate climate.
To Pod Espresso (as the vibrant-vibed coffee shop that you are and to all the terrific staff that bring you to life), I say thank you for striving to continue to be and do all that you have to offer. You are an amazing, loving and wonderful stint in the mad rush of our day. To those who don’t appreciate your style – “Bye-bye now” and thank you for making welcomed room, for all who do enjoy Pod Espresso’s effervescence.
Keep up your fabulous flair Pod – you’re right on the mark!
Cheers and best wishes, from Bec (DA).
I am a frequent school run visitor to pod and they always have great strong coffee, made well and a great array of treats on offer. Fantastic!
Always great coffee and friendly service. Had the baked egg breakfast which was tasty and great value. Pod also do there own bottled cold press coffee which isnt too sweet - just a touch of agave. Recommended.
Diana. Just loved the coffee here, rich, smooth & full bodied. Expertly brewed. Cute cafe with a little shop of organic goodies attached. Plenty of outside seating but not much room inside.
This place is bang bang for coffee and food. Somebody tell me if there's a better place in Stafford... There ain't ya heard. Peace out fools. Chow down @ pod 4 real
Best Coffee In Brisbane. Seriously good coffee and awesome service. These girls know their stuff. Love it.
Very Friendly. Always met with a smile here and love their vege sausages.
Lovely coffee! Wonderful little sandwiches and treats. Very happy and inviting staff AND no extra charge for soy in my coffee! Love this little place!
I’d heard that Pod Espresso at Stafford has consistently good strong coffee that never lets you down. I’d heard right. Using a clean skin coffee from Cleanskin Coffee Co at Brendale, this hole in the wall is a hidden gem. The thing I love about this place is the fact that it isn’t in a usual cafe scene setting but is as popular as any that is. Certainly the coffee or the breakfast flavours haven’t paled simply because it’s a little further out of the city. While Pod Espresso is compact and still fits into the hole in the wall category, owner Sally Hoffmann has expanded recently by including an organic store stocked by Northey Street market stall operator and Tamborine Mountain grower, Beth Larkin. If you have the luxury of time, Pod Espresso has a great menu offering some fantastic breakfast and lunch items at reasonable prices and includes a kids menu. The cafe is also dog friendly if you happen to be walking the pooch and feel the need for a coffee or sour dough bruschetta. The cafe
Desperate for a coffee and something to eat, we decided to give POD a go, as it was top rated according to google maps. I must say it truly lives up to its reputation.
As usual, we grabbed a skinny cap and soy flat white. The skinny cap on the first sip was sweet and was closely followed with a hint of bitterness, which was quite enjoyable to me. My partner quite enjoy his soy flat white and was impressed with the presentation. Quote “ this is real flat white”. Another point well deserved (he is usually annoyed with ordering a flat white and ending up with something not right).
As for the food, I grabbed their pesto chicken sandwich, which I thought was rather delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy on the outside and the softness of the inside remained. The pesto was creamy and went really well with the chicken and fresh rockets. It also came in a good portion. They also had other items like the salami sandwich on the side, which also looked tempting. There was also a whole cabinet dedicated to cakes and slices, which was nearly impossible not to have a look at.
Besides food and coffee, the service was great. The staff were friendly and greeted us the second we walked in. I really dug their chill and relaxing vibe. All in all, it was a really nice dining experience and will come back for more. Thanks for the hospitality.
BTW, thanks for giving me “wings”. We thought it was lovely.
Beautiful coffee,
Lovely staff 👌

Delightful place, great dietary range with yum GF sweets and savouries, and brilliant mug-a-chinos! Relaxing environment. Fantastic community involvement - currently have pictures from a local day care. Beautiful 😊
Devoured the best lunch I've had in while at this place today. Highly recommend the sweet potato cake. Fast & friendly service. Great GF options. I'll be back to work my way through the treats cabinet too when I'm done with the veggies 😉
I have just recently discovered this place and I’m so glad I did! Had the kindest staff ever and made me feel so welcome… I also had a fantastic coffee both times that I’ve been!
