I’ve been thinking about this gem @phoqueuepdk ever since my first visit. I’ve had this #bunrieu for the third time and it never disappoints. I’m obsessed with the flavour of this broth! The luxury blend pho is also my favourite. If you are ordering pho, the extra two dollars to upgrade to luxury blend are definitely worth it.

Are you ever tired of Vietnamese food?? While writing up this post, I just realised that we seemed to be eating out in Vietnamese restaurant. I have been to Pho Queue twice and the first visit was to catch up with Simco! He had recently relocated back to Brisbane from Tasmania and it was so nice to meet up with this old friend of mine.

Very very good pho. Perfect balance of sweet and salty. The bowl is massive for 10 bucks. My pho tai has perfect ratio of the amount of noodles and broth, very brothy yum. The wait time was quick and the service was very friendly. Authentic Vietnamese food made by vietnamese family is a plus. Will be coming back. Totally satisfied my pho craving.

I don’t understand why the rating is so low here. It’s a very decent place with great food and nice service. It’s true if you order some special dishes , it may take up to 20-25 minutes to serve but they are really SPECIAL! I will definitely go back and recommend to my friends! 😋

Delicious, will have to visit more than I already have to try different soups on the menu. Can’t go wrong with their Pho, which they have different regional versions of.

Pleasant casual dining with Asian dessert bar & Vietnamese influences. Simple modern interpretation rather than authentic flavours--catering to the local hipster crowds. Enjoyable lunch nevertheless.

Good Vietnamese food
We dropped into this sophisticated looking eatery for dinner on a Friday night. We ordered the com ga nuong (smoked honey lemongrass sesame chicken) and the hu tieu khou (dry noodle with bbq pork, quail egg, prawn and chicken). The chicken was grilled to perfection and the noodles were good although a bit too sweet for my taste. Both dishes were a little short on vegetables, fresh salad ingredients and herbs. We also a couple of desserts from the beautifully presented dessert cabinet. Prices were reasonable and BYO was plus.

Regulars at O’Mai we wanted to try Pho Queue. Yum! Delicious prawn and pork crepe that you can no longer get next door. Sophisticated decor and airconditioned. We’ll be back.

Cafe O Mai and Pho Queue (love those pun names) are located side by side and are owned by the same family. Pho Queue is a bit fancier, opens from lunch through to dinner time, has a glorious open dessert kitchen to sticky beak into and produces some wonderful French desserts. Mr Fork has a preference for Pho Queue because they offer normal washable chopsticks instead of wooden disposable ones, and he prefers to eat with those so we probably frequent Pho Queue slightly more because of that.

This place was pretty cool. Nice fit out. We came in just before lunch. I ordered the banh khot - prawn pancakes - these are the best things I have tasted in a long time. Crunchy pancake, prawn and spring onion- it was soo good. Writing this makes me re-crave a plate full of them.

I also had a chicken banh mi, without sweet chilli and it was also phenomenal. The warm crispy skin on the chicken, in a roll was heaven. Everybody else seemed to really rate their meals too.

One weird thing- We were promptly served however the coffees were made next door and took a while as next door was really busy. I’m more likely to come for dinner and byo to be honest it wasn’t a big deal.

Will I be back? As long as those prawn pancakes are there, oh yeah I will!

Came here with a few friends on Saturday at lunchtime. Ordered the baguette with rump steak. Eventhough it read on the menu as medium rare, it was a little more underdone then that. That said, it was fresh and tasty. I had the Lychee tea with coconut jelly (without sugar). It had good flavour and wasn't too sweet. The real star of the show was the dessert. I highly recommend the chocolate dome. The layers and textures were perfect. I also tried the raspberry and lychee mousse cake and the mango and yuzu mousse cake. The raspberry was my second favourite but the mango and yuzzu was delicious too (less sweet out of the three). Keen to go back and try their coffee and the rest of the dessert cabinet.

Bookmarked this eatery after I read Shorty's review couple weeks ago. Explored this new business extension of Café O Mai on Sunday before last week. Love to see an upmarket contemporary set up of Vietnamese eatery like this in Brisbane. The eye-catching showcase of cake display was absolutely a temptation to diners and reminded us to have the nice dessert after the savoury dishes. Unfortunately, they were preparing the Hanoi Style broth and not yet ready for serving when we ordered so I ordered the traditional Pho broth with House special style because I love Ox tail.  Another noodle was the Bun Bo Hue with medium hotness. Entrée was an order of Spring Roll. Noticed that they served bubble tea so I changed mind to order the passion fruit tea and also the Tra Da (Pandan and lemongrass hot tea). Well, the spring roll was slightly let down with respect to our high expectation, they were just average. They were not as crispy as those that I had at the Rice Paper @ Warrigal Square. Having said that the noodles were superb in terms of the broth. Both had their specific character with generous portion of ingredients. Particularly, the Ox Tail of my noodles, which just melted in my mouth. If the noodles of Bun Bo Hue were not broken in pieces, both noodles would be perfect. Drinks of the tea with Pandan and lemongrass was too weak in flavour but the passion fruit drink saved marks. Heroes should be the Raspberry Gem and the Mango Dome, which were so smooth with appropriate sweetness. Overall, it is a good idea to have Vietnamese food under such comfortable environment and also have the chance to finish up the meal with a nice yummy dessert. Thanks for your recommendation, Shorty.

Pho Queue is the latest of the gradually expanding ventures of the people behind Cafe O-Mai and Red Lotus. Cafe O-Mai itself has spilled over into an additional banh mi takeaway store next door, and Pho Queue occupies the lot next to that. They have clearly thought about the double entendre for their name, it being either a line for their pho, or something..a little less civil. (“Pho” is pronounced like “fur”. Now read that out loud. Or quietly in your head if you’re in polite company.)

Was excited to try this new pho establishment and was even more excited to see that it was open on Monday nights too!

We tried the:
- Northern pho with wagyu beef (lovely flavours, a little salty, but the beef was melt-in-your-mouth),
- Northern pho with rare beef (there was a mistake with the order so unfortunately the dish came out a little later and a little lukewarm)
- Bun rieu with snails (depths of seafood flavours and plenty of snails!)
- Hi tieu mi My tho (authentic flavours)
- Bun bo hue (my companion ordered 'hot', however thought it was still very mild.
Dishes came with accompaniments (herbs, lemon, sauces) but only if you ask for it.

Service was prompt and friendly. The ambience was casual and clean. There are also a selection of delicious-looking treats available in the front, however we didn't get to try them on this occasion.
Overall, a solid Vietnamese noodle soup place with a quirky, fun restaurant name!

This newly opened Pho & Dessert kitchen is a great addition to Brisbane Southside! As you have guessed this Pho Queue is the 'sister' store to popular Cafe O Mai and Red Lotus, and located just between these shops in the same complex.

Walked past long queue at Cafe O Mai, we were expecting many people next door as well but luckily there was no customers yet at this newly opened Pho Queue.

Walked through inviting cakes in showcase at the entrance, we were promptly seated and provided with menu and cold water.

After much consideration, we ordered Hanoi style beef pho broth with house special which contains rare beef, hand made beef roll and oxtail ($15) and Blue swimmer crab tomato sea foam soup vermicelli noodle with basic (crab balls, roma tomato and tofu) ($13). Not to forget Vietnamese iced coffee for my drink ($5)

First arrived was Vietnamese iced coffee (drip style) which was strong with plenty of condensed milk to go with.

While waiting for coffee drip to complete, soon arrived were both noodles in beautiful large bowl with Pho Queue logo on.

Beef pho had flavourful broth with perfectly cooked noodle to match with. Rare beef was of good quality but highlight was melting off the bone oxtail! Yum!!!

I had a bit of crab tomato noodle which had strong crab flavour with fresh tasting tomato base. I am glad to have tried this non-familiar dish and was a great delicious find!

After having had full bowl, we were totally full but could not resist the temptation from good-looking cakes in the showcase. We decided to take away Mango cheesecake and Chocolate dome and was the best choice I made today.

Chocolate dome was not too sweet with dark chocolate melting dome with rich chocolate sponge cake inside. Chocolate crisp on top was crafted beautifully in curved shape with cute petal for completion. Tasted that good when I realised it was already gone!
Mango cheese cake was light with fresh mango on top with great balance between cheese component and richness of mango.

Overall, must try for pho and dessert lovers! Good taste, good value and good environment. Very nice addition to Brisbane dessert scene which is still limited. It would be great to have more varieties in drink selection to go with cakes as well as option to choose small size noodle if possible.

Look forward to try their different creations and more addition to the menu in days to come!
