Fridays mean two things in Brisbane, the work week is almost over and a truly special work lunch is available. Porchetta is a dish that fits the Friday long lunch vibes and the offering here at The Cheese Pleaser is a standouts amongst its peers. A generous serving of pork, potatoes and salad with a house soda gives you change from a $20 so it doesn't break the budget. The only downside is that I can have it all week long!

I got takeaway from here for a Friday lunch with colleagues. I ordered the ham, cheese and tomato toastie which was on soft toasted bread. There was plenty of filling and it was very well seasoned. It is above the average price for a HCT toastie however the quality of the bread and cheese justifies the price ($12). I would indulge every now and again but it did leave me with a food coma that afternoon.

I go there to get a good does of cheese to stop the craving. A bit rich for summer times though, I cannot wait for winter to go and grab one of those toasties.

Staff have always been super friendly at the store! Very friendly and attentive. The toasties are also to die for, very different from the others you get around the CBD so early in the morning too.

Had the lunch special Porchetta with salad. I was just expecting your typical roast pork but what I got was gourmet lunch in a box. The pork was beautifully cooked with crackling that would crack and melt in your mouth. Don't be taken back by the shop's deco. This place has the best under $20 lunch deal.

Regular readers would know of my love for cheese, and after my pleasant experience in Fromage the Cow last year, I could only wish that it would open in a more accessible location for me, so when I read about the Cheese Pleaser opening along Adelaide Street in the CBD, it was as if my prayers had been answered. Unfortunately due to my insane workload lately, I was unable to go until last weekend, running there after watching Spiderman with Queen V, to make it 5 minutes before closing time.

Amazing! Cheese Pleaser earns its high star rating for very good reason. Visited during the lunch rush and ordered roast of the day—lamb— which was served with roast potatoes and seasonal salad. The lamb was amazing; perfectly tender with a crispy flavoursome outer layer, hardly any fat. Potatoes oh so perfect too. The salad was truly seasonal, with sliced black plum for a hint of sweetness. My grandmother would be impressed. Food was served quickly. It was amazing to watch the staff bustle about. Absolutely one of the best inner city options for lunch or cheeses in Brisbane. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would!

Great concept, decent lunch prices (about $10-15), nice toastie, but the place is small. There is nowhere to sit, just a very tiny desk for one or public benches outside with no tables. I look forward to seeing the place grow.

Crunchy and delicious bread and the cheese was to die for. It feels a bit pricy for the amount though! You can get the wagyu burger for a few dollars more!

The first time I asked if they had a specific cheese that they had previously stocked they said no and didn’t offer to order it in, nor give me any indication of when they would next have it in. No offer to contact me when they did. The second time, I asked if they could get it in if I ordered a large quantity, they didn’t bother to take down my details and call me back, rather, wanted me to call them back after they spoke to their supplier. I’ve tried calling them numerous times with no answer, and finally, when I got on to them, they gave me a time to come in. I drove for over an hour to get there and they weren’t open. There was someone behind the locked door but they wouldn’t let me in! I’ve never found it so difficult to exchange money for goods. BUT they do have the best selection of cheeses in Brisbane. And they have opened my eyes to cheese I didn’t think I would like. Cheese pleaser has a taste for quality, please work on your customer service.

Oh my goodness you will not be able to have a "normal" toasted sandwich after trying The Cheese Pleaser. Their toasties are amazing, the ploughman's lunch is excellent, their cheese selection is absolutely superb and their staff are wonderfully friendly and bubbly that make you want to keep coming back.
