Cute little cafe.  Brilliant service.  Had the apple and rhubarb pie as recommended by a friend.  Yum!  Sweet shortcrust pastry just like my grandma used to make :) tea was lovely and friends enjoyed their coffees (don't drink coffee, but they liked theirs).  Really nice serene and quiet surroundings outside with the trees and the water feature, and little friends come to visit too!

I love this venue, it has always been a place to come for good food and peace to enjoy it in the centre of a very busy city. Today was the very first time I have had cause to find it less than pleasurable. First let me say that I am very aware that the resident ibis (big birds) can be a  bit troublesome but part of the beauty of this venue is sitting watching the water dragons and the ibis in the lovely garden. Today, unfortunately, one of the male staff decided to repeatedly chase the birds around the tables. An ibis had smashed a glass on a table that had food remaining on plates ... Although the table had been vacated for some time it had not  been cleared...unfortunate yes but if the tables had been cleared more promptly this would not have occurred. Instead of concentrating on clearing the tables more promptly..he then spent time harassing the birds every time he appeared outside. To make matters worse children were encouraging the birds by feeding them.....so the poor creatures were certainly receiving very mixed messages. It certainly did not add to my enjoyment on this occasion... Perhaps some subtle information asking people not to feed the ibis and some not so subtle advice the the aggravated young waiter to concentrate on prompt clearing of tables.... Still love the venue and the tranquility it usually offers.

Visited the arts precinct today, dropped into QAG and was pleasantly surprised by the value and quality of their cafe. The staff were friendly, upbeat and genuinely wanted to help and to make my experience the best it could be. Reasonable pricing, I tried the pulled duck pappardelle which had a full burst of flavor, kudos to the chefs. The coffee went down very smooth, and was very quick to come out. In all, I was very impressed. Thank you QAG!

Clean & reasonable value. Visited with interstate relatives for lunch and although the menu isn't extensive, the food was good and came out in a timely manner. The prices are quite reasonable when you consider the outlook, the beautiful water features, which help keep the kiddies out of this particular cafe at the Art Gallery. Our burgers were served on bread boards (a very annoying trend in cafes) but they were freshly prepared and well cooked. The chips were good too. Staff are a bit slow to clear the tables and clean up after diners, but are pleasant enough and will do it if you ask. Coffee is nice and hot. Nothing really to fault this venue apart from the unappetising desserts; very plastic and stale looking.

A surprising option in the QPAC complex serving casual meals at "not terrible" prices considering the area it is situated in. The Steak Sandwich was great. Tender steak and the onion jam added a nice balance to the dish.
