Ordered Family Pack 1: beef gang massaman, chicken & cashew, rice & mixed entree, plus 125nL drink. The pastry in the entree was very thick, gluey & the money bag had no filling & curry puffs had no curry and had some kind of unidentifiable glue. The beef & chicken was very chewy & tough, rice was wet & gluggy. Not sure if they are under new ownership but previously it was never this poor a quality. Budget Family pack should not mean poor quality. Take pride in your cooking. 2/3 of the meal was inedible. What a waste! Also suggest they supply sparkling water than sugary soft drinks. Who still drinks soft drinks??

My friend and I ate dinner at Thai Sandgate last night, I live in Redcliffe and have plenty of Thai restaurants to choose from in my area. I hafto say Thai Sandgate was the best! The service was exceptionally good ,they are a family run business very friendly! The food was a 10/10 very tasty and fresh generous portions and excellent prices I will drive over there again as they were the best over any of the Thai restaurants in Redcliffe area and Redcliffe have some good ones but this restaurant topped the lot!

We had 15 people for a birthday party. Food was awesome and really quick. We were so impressed with the friendly staff and the whole evening was such a success. An amazing range of different dishes which were all so tasty and such reasonable prices. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had the Massman Curry and Pad Thai...the flavours were ok but the meat they used wasn’t. Instead of proper beef that’s been braised it was very thin tough beef that ruined the dish. The same with the Pad Thai lamb. Cutting corners by giving the cheapest, smallest, toughest meat possible means I won’t be ordering again in the future.

Unimpressive. Food was flavourless. Probably the worst Thai I’ve tried. Maybe they were having an off night. Wouldn’t bother trying again with other options nearby (Thai Sa-Bai & Thai Natong for example).

Was not impressed at all by the curries. The chicken in the yellow curry tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for ages and reheated with the curry sauce. They gave me my order in 5mins which is suspicious for making a curry. Feels like they just threw alot of the already pre cooked ingredients in a wok with some curry paste and coconut milk.

06/06/15- Takeaway- Hubby & I ordered from our car (ready in 15min- no 34- Pad Khing (stir fry ginger) & large coconut rice. Yum, Just plain Delicious, the chicken to vegetable ratio was good. Veggies were fresh-plenty of sauce to pore over the remaining rice, happily supplied us with sml plates & cutlery- we went down to the water & dined. Value for money will be back to try different dishes.

Thai-luscious!. Very friendly staff. Amazing well presented & tasty food. Although extremely busy with take away meals table service was prompt & our meals were served quickly. We over ordered (thinking we could take the left overs with us) but the food was so tasty we ate it all

Mobile Review. Food is average, and the service also, fortunately Thai Restaurants are not difficult to find in Brisbane. I will not bother with this place again, Wouldn't go back here.

Depends.... Hubbie and friends like it but i am vegetarian and the tofu green curry was just awful and was mixed up - originally received chicken.

Unsure of these great ratings. I went here based on all the good ratings it had and was appalled, the springs rolls tasted off, the chicken cashew had absolutely no flavor to it and the cashews where burnt! The coconut rice was ok. I wouldn't go here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.

Best Thai in Brisbane. This restaurant has always been worth the travel. Great prices, and after much searching IMO is the best tasting and quality Thai food available in Brisbane. Always satisfied plus service with a smile. I try to get there at least once a week!

Poor Service Poor food Not Happy. I thought I would give them a chance and make up my own mind after seeing some of the comments on this site, some good and some bad. <br/>My husband and I went to the restaurant Friday night. We were surprised at the rudeness of the waitress, The entree was good ,but It wasn't hot, Service is poor..incorrect meals, or meals don't arrive, or late and the final straw..overcharged without an apology...you just lost a customer!<br/>Seems some of the comments are true<br/>I don't mind paying extra money but only if i get some good food and OK service.<br/>rate 5 /10

Thai Lover. Love this place, have tried many other Thai restaurants and this ones up there with the best of them and is also great value for money. Was somewhat surprised by some of the other comments as I have eaten here several times and the food has always been well cooked and presented and the service has always been fast and friendly. With the huge servings, means I'm always taking containers full of food home for work the next day to the envy of jealous work colleagues. Have recommend this restaurant to several friends, all of who have had nothing but praise for it as well. I'm particularly found of the spicy Coconut Chicken Soup accompanied with a bowl of sticky rice and I can think of nothing better to warm me up on a cold winters night. Have also been trying the chicken and beef salads there of late and with the beautiful spices and flavors it has changed my view on boring old salads...

Will Not be back. This place has history, the previous owner she was an awesome cook, and was one of the best Thai Restaurants around (once upon a time). Unfortunately the goods came out either too salty or tasteless. The entrées were okay but the main meals disappointed me. My partner & I have had many Thai cuisines but this one really doesn't fit my taste. Sorry, don't think I'll be recommending this place for fine dining; service was OK but a little slow... I don't recommend it.<br/>I rate it 4/10

It was so terrible it was ordinary, was almost laughable.<br/>The service was slow, takeaway customers got preference to the restaurant patrons, the food was very poor and the staff well that was something else.<br/>Don't bother...

No Don't do it. We arrived to an almost empty restaurant, ordered immediately, soon after the restaurant started to get more people. 75 minutes later our young family was still waiting to be fed while the take away and orders headed past us and most other diners had at least had their entrees. We asked the staff member where our meal was and she told us' "its coming" - it was annoying, we had been patient. I am normally very understanding about stuff like this but this was ridiculous. BTW when the meals came out they were very ordinary!

Fantastic Sat night meal!. Went to the restaurant on Saturday night - it was so busy! I had a delicious green chicken curry. It wasn't quite what I expected but I loved the flavours. I'll definitely be having it next time I go there. My friends ordered a stir fry and pad thai between them which they polished off. We'll definitely be going back again very soon!

Local Diner. Decor and atmosphere was not really related to Thai and was so so, service was fairly ordinary and slow, the food was ridiculously overpriced for the quality that was brought out. The beef in the curry should have been soft and falling apart, however the beef was tough and chewy. The flavours were somewhat bland as well.. For that price we expected something spectacular, but received something average worth much less. It was something that could have been purchased from your local take away shop. Will be eating from other Thai restaurants down the road next time.

Dissapointing. Probably the worst Thai food I have tasted, food was bland and not flavorsome, tried the Massaman beef had no flavor and the curry tasted like it had something had been burnt while cooking?? was very disappointing. all the meals. Wont be back for a second go

So-so. Great reviews but wasn't overly impressed, ordered the chicken spring rolls (ok but a bit dry & mushy inside) coconut rice (gluggy & clumped together in a hard lump, difficult to dish up), and a green chicken curry. chicken was slightly dry, curry was very runny & the sauce had split so it didn't look appetizing at all, the flavour was ok, however there was no spice at all! what is a green curry without spice? that's the whole point of a green! may give them another go as the reviews are great, hopefully I just got them on a bad night :-(

Hmm.. Have been here quite a few times now, great authentic Thai. Although the last time I went the owner said that I should try different food and shouldn't order the same thing which I thought was a bit rude. Dinner. I am a lover of Thai and i have to say that this is the worst Thai i have ever eaten. Not only is it very watery you are given very little meat with the dishes and the prices are far too expensive. Definately ripping you off at this restaurant.

What a great meal. We wanted somewhere in sandgate to eat, we found Thai sandgate, had a quick look on urban spoon as I do and read quite a lot of positive reviews so gave it a go. We ordered 3 mains to share and all were fantastic. Vegetables we fresh and plentiful as was the chicken breast (very important). As we finshed our meal we smelt new flavours, we will definatly be back. Solomon introduced himself and was so friendly and nice, a great person to have running the restaurant. Everyone that was leaving as we were eating we're saying how beautiful the food was. We than got the ribs take away for a midnight snack for my husband, which he could not wait longer than an hour for. Was so good

Friendly and tasty. The owners are very friendly and keen to please. Eating in the resturant gets you huge serving sizes for great value. Super tasty pad Thai! It's not a fancy restaurant but it's not meant to be. Enjoy it for what it is, a casual suburban family owned restaurant and take away.

Great Food, Poor Service. The food is generally authentic & beautifully cooked, however the emphasis of service seems to be on takeaway customers & restaurant diners are left waiting a long time to both be acknowledged on arrival and between courses. Atmosphere is spartan but clean.Have been back a couple of times since.. food ALWAYS excellent, authentic & generous helpings. Highly recommended - if you're prepared to wait a bit.

Simple Yet Satisfying. Food was quality, well made but could have been better presented. Not stingy on the portions. Quick and friendly service. Overall pricing was reasonable. We ordered and entree mixture of satay chicken, dim sim, golden parcel and spring roll; the stir fry with peanut sauce and the pad prick king. All were delicious, so much so my partner scraped the plate clean and I requested a take away container for the remainder of my meal. Good enough effort was made for a thai-esk atmosphere. All in all we will definitely be going back.

Worst Thai Ever. B.l.a.n.d. I just ordered Massaman Beef, which should be traditionally a creamy yellow coconut/peanut curry with slow cooked hunks of beef and potato. Thai Sandgate's version is boiled potatoes overdone then added to the sauce just before serving. The beef used in their Massaman was essentiallly sliced roast beef from Woolies Deli Department. Their fried rice was too oily. The chicken satay sticks weren't marinated long enough and were just skewered tenderloins. Using tenderloin is too stringy and tough for a satay stick. Common folks, this is Thai-101. Not up to par and wont go back. Yet another bad place to eat in Sandgate.

Top food, great night out. I have this restraunt. It has the most amazing tasting food. The staff are so efficient and helpful, why not try asking for them to suggest something different. We have not been disappointed ever. The atmosphere in the restraunt is great, and we get take away far too often :). All together this is my failsafe option for a night out or a night in. Great food at a reasonable price. If you love thai then you'll love this place. The decor is typical of your suburban thai restaurant - i.e. tacky and simple - but the food is great. My wife and I often eat here after work because the service is quick, it's BYO, and we can have our fill for under $50 for the two of us.
