We really enjoyed our meals here. Huge servings and the chicken schnitzels were nice... slightly overcooked however. Customer service was good and the meals came out relatively quickly. Overall good place to get some pub food.

I was here for lunch with a small group. Overall the experience was very average. The food was bland and a small portion size for your money's worth and the staff service was also average at best.

100% Happy with my visit. The food was great and really well priced. The lady that was serving us was extremely friendly and made my day. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who eats!

We ordered feast of fish. It was deliciously cooked. The servings were great. Service was outstanding. Great ambience. ⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended.

The food is decent and staff are friendly although seem bored. The food is a bit on the expensive side but you get a good amount of food for that price. Has a very good range of Alcoholic drinks and knows how to charge for them but nothing out of the ordinary.

I went to the Beach House after shopping with my newborn and I was looking for a quiet place to breastfeed. The manager, Debra, was so helpful - pointing out their change rooms, helping me with the pram and even bringing my food to me instead of providing the usual counter service. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was delicious. I remembered what a great time I had and popped in again about a month later (again with my baby) and not only did Debra remember me but she remembered my order and went above and beyond to be helpful. The meal was very tasty again and with a level of service I didn't expect and am not used to! Thanks Beach House!

We came here for dinner last night (Sunday, 15 Apr 18) and left feeling extremely disappointed. We ordered the Nachos, with shredded chicken. The place was pretty much empty, which should have been the first red flag. The food arrived 20 minutes later. A heaped pile of nachos for $19! I got excited...until we got a closer look. The nachos were soggy and limp, hot on the outside and cold in the middle. The cheese was soo over cooked in places that it was like cement. The guacamole on top had turned from green to a dark brown (obviously it had been made a day or two in advance) and tasted like garlic for some reason. Furthermore, our order arrived with no chicken. I took the order back and the lovely waitress politely offered me another drink and the chefs attempted to fix the chicken issue. It was obvious they had just dumped some microwaved chicken on top and left the rest of the food cold underneath. Three hours later, and we are still feeling unwell from the meal. Stomach cramps, nausea and diarrhea. Still not feeling well today almost 14 hours after the meal.

Really 1 person behind the bar and 1 person taking orders and checking orders on a Thursday night before Good Friday. Lost for words. If I were the owner I would be annoyed. The amount of people that saw the line ups and left was amazing. The amount of drinks that they could have served more of is also amazing. Being a previous business owner I would fire the whole staff.
Food average, chips cold, service disgraceful. Would go to Maccas before this place everyday of the week.
Beach house is always a good choice when you arent sure what you feel like. The chermside beach house was great! The staff were always friendly and quick. I will come back here again.

The first time we came here the steaks were very dry but despite that we gave it another go.
Second time we arrived was early Saturday night we ordered two fish meals. We asked if they served tartare sauce and they said yes. We paid $2 extra for aioli aswell. They restaurant was pretty quiet and we waited 30 minutes for meals. Our meals arrived and their was no tartare so I asked where it was and they said they don't sell it. I received an extra aioli with my meal so I paid $2 for nothing. Grill fish and crumbed calamari was pretty average and salad had no dressing on it, chips were also cold. Won't be back, third time is not the charm.

Refused service , was told that I could not buy a drink without a main meal.
Poor poor service ,Never coming here again , what kind of policy is this garbage

The Beach House has always been one of the go to places when you're in the CBD and wanting a simple but casual dining place to have a beer or pub food while listening to live music. Although it could get loud at times especially on friday nights, it would always be quite packed. Now that they've opened at Westfield Chermside, it allows people living around the area to try and dine the same or even a better experience.

A group of us went to the Beach House in Chermside for lunch. I have never been to any Beach House's before so I was not sure what to expect. The menu has a quite extensive list and there was plenty of seats available.

You have to order at the counter which was odd, as there were plenty of staff walking around at any given time. When you order, they provide you with a buzzer so they can let you know your drinks or meals are ready. Our drinks were ready first, and they buzzed us. When we collected the drinks, I felt like service is not high on their list, as I could not even get eye contact to ask if we were taking the right tray. There were only about 3 other tables there and at that time, there were 4 staff members standing around the bar area.

Shortly after, the buzzer went off again, and we got up to collect the meals. Again, we weren't really given advice that they were our meals, as staff were standing around else where and we just collected the meals from the counter. It was awkward as you hoped that the meals were yours! The nachos and chicken burger looked good but did not appear to be anything outstanding. The flaked salmon salad was different, and all the flavours worked well together. I ordered the sliders board, which came with three different fillings. The pulled pork and slaw was nice but not great. The chicken and cheese was simple but worked well. The beef and mustard pickles were the best slider, but were nothing more than a cheese burger slider. However, they were still delicious.

Overall, the Beach House was nice but there was nothing outstanding about it. I was rather disappointed by the service. I know that some restaurants use buzzers to let customers collect their food, and use them to good effect. But this place seem to use it to avoid any customer service. The food was nice and had elements that were enjoyable, but again there was nothing outstanding to it. It is worth a try, so it is probably good not to have any expectations as well.

Long wait times and lacking a good atmosphere. Was looking forward to this place but was dissapointed. Food was average. Nothing special. Its a shame as it could become a hit in such a prime location

Beach house breakfast. Just finished breakfast, we both had the beach house breakfast.
On reading others reviews we would not have stopped but I am glad we did. The staff n service was really good. We even got table service.
For a relaxing breakfast mid week, I would come here again.

Good vibe. Good location. Reasonable service. Would have liked table service but thats fine. The garlic bread was good. We ordered the salmon and the chicken burger. The bun on the burger was burnt and the dish for the salmon 'smelt'. Its like they werent clean properly. That was a turn off. The meals were over priced, 15 bucks for a simple burger is too high imo. Would properly go there again for a casual lunch and it does beat the garbage junk food avaliable inside. 5/10

1/11/2017: Went here on a date with my partner, ordered the beetroot and Brie cheese chicken schnitzel and a magharita, it was delicious. I’m soo happy things got better here and will be more than happy to return. :)

— — — —

Feb 25 2015: I miss the old owners, the portions were ridiculously amazing! And the staff were really nice. But now.. The staff look incredibly unhappy, are very uninviting, and don't particularly look like they're enjoying serving us. It is a real shame. The employees need a serious talking to! Although, all of my meals have still tasted really good. I will keep going back, in the hope that things will improve!

What a shame that there are new owners. This used to be a great place but it's changed in a big way.

On a Tuesday night the meals took forty-five minutes. The line for service took thirty minutes. We got there at 6:30pm and weren't eating until just before 8pm.

The meal portions were tiny, and were served on chopping boards that smelt horrible (do they get washed?).

When I spoke to staff about the slow service, I was given serious attitude.

Unfortunately, a place that we regularly visited will now be a place we never go to. Disappointing...

Well presented staff and a relaxed atmosphere. It's not table service, but that suits us! Great food and coffee! We have been here a few times and plan to come back again

Went here Sunday morning breakfast. Overpriced, horrible rude sarcastic service and the food was definitely nothing to get excited about. Will not be coming back !

Tasty meals but distasteful atmosphere.... Beach House Bar & Grill at Chermside has been a favourite spot for a great meal at an affordable price, and I was happy to hear that the restaurant had recently been renovated.

However, the renovations have been poorly thought out... while the (noisy) children's corner has been removed, the new fit-out can only be described as 'sterile' and 'uninviting'.

There's plain white paint on the walls, broken up only on a single side by rows of green (living) plants. Pair that with extremely bright, fluorescent lighting, you feel like you're in the worse of a tanning salon or a 90s-era McDonalds.

On the plus side, the menu is seemingly unchanged, including the pricing, which is great to see after a refurbishment.

However, the ordering process has been 'consolidated'. Previously, you could order your dinner and any initial drinks at a counter near the kitchen, and any further drinks over at the bar - which made it quick and easy to grab an extra round or a coffee towards the end of the meal, as you wouldn't be stuck behind those queuing for their dinner.

Now, all food and drink must be ordered through a single register at the bar. Even with the restaurant barely 1/4 full, this took a full 10 minutes on a quiet Tuesday evening. If you're dining with a partner, that's quite a period of time to be away from the table simply to place your order.

With American Express card acceptance logos on display, I was also surprised to be told "oh, we can't accept that card" when trying to pay. Insisting that I'd used AMEX there before and that the clerk should try swiping it, the card terminal then displayed ~"card not accepted". If I hadn't been kept waiting for 10 minutes to place an order, I likely would have left and gone elsewhere... but after waiting in the queue, I just wanted to be fed. Perhaps that's their strategy, but it simply means I won't be in a rush to return, if ever at all.

Then, a restaurant-wide trivia event started, which was to be held close to the table we'd selected. We weren't interested and noticed no signage to indicate as much before choosing that spot, so we relocated to outside to avoid the noise - or so we thought.

Using a high-volume microphone to broadcast the game to all of 10 participants, the trivia festivities were simply too loud to create a peaceful environment for dining, which one would think to be a restaurant's primary focus.

The situation wasn't helped when the group reached any musical questions - including "name that song" or "name that band". Although we were seated outdoors and at the opposite end of the restaurant, the volume of the music excerpts was excessive enough to prevent us from conversing at the same time - at least, without yelling.

Amidst the mixture of slow service and a restaurant styled to duplicate a high school trivia night, the food was actually fantastic. The veal schnitzel was perfectly cooked, equally scrumptious and reminiscent of great pub fare.

But, that's seemingly not the restaurant's primary concern, nor is it mine. For now, at least, I'll see what else the Chermside restaurant district has to offer.

Avoid - poor quality and no service. Ordered BLT/chips, whiting/chips and kids fish/chips. The whiting had not been deboned, it was unsuitable to be eaten. We were advised to eat only the outside of the fish. When the kids fish and chips option also was riddled with bones, we were told no that at least shouldn't have been and suggested we replace the childs meal with chicken nuggets. After waiting 15 more minutes the so-called nuggets arrived. They contained no chicken however and were a grey dry substance. No refund or discount offered. My children then had to eat my blt/chips while I went hungry. Very expensive inedible meal! Further more. Was ignored at the bar while trying to order a jug of coke. Must have waited about 8 minutes. When young girl did stop flirting with fellow worker to serve me, she served the guy waiting next to me who had only just arrived!

And the chips.. what's with that weird crumb seasoning? Yuk! Also salad is drenched in a disgusting brown sauce/dresssing? Unidentifiable and nasty. Smelled off too!

Should have had two meals refunded. Poor service and inedible fish. Our table was placed so we could see the kitchen and the masses of plates of food that were being tipped into the bin (says something about the amt of meals being uneaten!) do your self a favour and avoid before you get sick from these idiots.

I have eaten here a number of times for lunch, and haven't been disappointed yet! The lunch special rump steak for around $13 (with chips and salad and sauce of your choice) is excellent value for money (better than the lunch steak deals at the other eateries on the outside strip!). I have tried their other steaks as well and have not been disappointed, the chefs are able to cook a quality med rare steak just right! Service is good, though not table service, so the other review complaining about not being served just is a little bit confused about how things work there. You order at the counter and then are given a buzzer to collect your food when it's ready. I suppose it would be nice to have to food delivered directly to the table, but it doesn't detract from having a nice meal. Beachhouse is definitely a favourite place of mine to have a casual lunch out for a reasonable price.

Steaks were burnt and I had hard time tasting the good bits.

Cheap and cheerful. I was pleasantly surprised - the scrambled eggs are amazing; easily the creamiest and fluffiest I've ever had. Definitely not a fine dining experience, but the prices reflect that. Would recommend for a casual breakfast b

Dinner review. Dined here last night for dinner and occassionaly come here, service was good and meals came out quickly very reasonable servings for quality of price.

Service..... what service. Would love to review this place, but after being left unattended for ten minutes, we left, and went to G'rilled Burgers across the way.
It ceases to amaze me how many cafes / restaurants think that poor service is acceptable, particularly when there are at least half a dozen other eateries within a twenty metre walk, plus a food court!!! Unbelievable.

Bargain breakfasts and ice cold beer! Love it

Nice reasonable priced food. Have eaten here a couple of times its more like a pub setup you order your meal up at the bar get your own cutlery ect. I have had the large eye fillet steak both times i have been here the first time was cooked to perfection was nice and tender and great flavour, the second time was a touch overcooked not as tender but still a reasonable steak. my partner had nachos last time and wasnt impressed. over all fairly reasonable food at a reasonable price good for a caual meal.

My partner and I were there for breakfast and the coffee was good but the rest of our experience was not at all pleasant. We chose to eat there because it wasn't busy but that should have set our alarm bells ringing. It took half an hour to cook two omelettes. I could see the kitchen from where i was sitting and at least two attempts were to make them. When we finally received them they were not what we ordered. I asked for toast instead as omelettes are clearly not their thing and no offer was made to refund our money or at the very minimum refund the $8 difference. After such poor service I pushed the issue and was given back the difference. We won't be going back.

I had the black angus rib eye. Perfectly cooked med rare. I would return for a casual meal
