Went to this place when it first opened two years ago when they still had a killer Groupon deal (I think they still have one now but the deal is not as great, it ~$25/pp before), but forgot to do a review. They have a good variety of fresh meat that is self serve. The charcoal grill is a nice touch as some places use a gas operated one. Good variety of food! Would definitely come to satisfy my Korean bbq crave.
Was looking for a late lunch and found this place was still open at almost 3 pm. There were 3 customers dining, and a few tables left unclean. A lady, seemingly an owner, brought me a menu and a bottle of water. Quickly ordered a pork soft tofu soup, and it didn’t take long to be served. My main came with rice and 2 side dishes. The soup was hot, spicy, filling, comforting and delicious. Good value for its price and portion. Keen to be back for all you can eat BBQ.
Charcoal Korean BBQ
We visited this restaurant as it was highly recommended by a Korean friend. We loved the feel of the restaurant with its ambient lighting and copper chimneys. There are other dishes to choose from but we selected the BBQ buffet. There was a large selection of meat (and hot foods) on the buffet and we loved the novelty of cooking our food over hot coals in the centre of the table. The staff were friendly, it was very reasonably priced and we were able to BYO!
Night out with the boys and it was korean bbq on the menu. We had been to this one, a year ago and it has changed hands. Looking forward to a new experience.
It was a busy restaurant and we didnt have a booking, but were even a table for 4. Warmly greeted and shown our table. This place is basically all you can eat in 90 min sitting. Similar to other ones have been too.
We order drinks combo, soju and 2 beers, they arrive and while the bbq gets lit, we go and grab our meats and sides. With a good selection of sides, like Kim chi, noodle salad, bean sprouts, garlic, list goes on.
Nothing beats the cooking of meat on a hot grill, only downer is the waiting for the meats. Good selection of meats, so something for everyone.
Good night out, good bbq.
I had a fantastic experience tonight at this restaurant and it's always the customer service that makes it that extra special. The main woman and man (owners?) were so friendly and accomodating it was refreshing. The staff were also very nice. I've never had such great customer service all round anywhere before. The food was pretty good too. Very minimal dessert option but luckily for me carrot cakes are my favourite and this place have one of the best I've had. The place looks beautiful and clean as well. I can't wait to come back again and I highly recommend this place!
This is a classic Korean Barbecue Restuarant with charcoal grill. It is a buffet style and you can eat as much as you want within one and half hour. You be fined $10 per table for food wastage. Overall the meat taste are good.
I had a crazy craving for Korean bbq. Whether it’s the cold weather or just the smell of charcoal burning I am not sure what brought it on.
Normally one would go to hanwoori or Maru in town or the numerous Korean bbq in Sunnybank . But today I just can’t bring myself to drive to Sunnybank or into town.
So I gave red & green a go. The reviews were mixed but I needed to check it out myself.
Spurred on by my 25% entertainment book voucher, I made my way over to east Brisbane.
The meats were great. They were fresh nd from memory there were 8?if not 10? Different meats and cuts to choose from.
The kimchi and ban chans were soooo good. The kimchi was particularly good. We had a lot of kimchi and also the cucumber kimchi. There were also a couple of salads to choose from and 8 side dishes as well. Fried chicken, sort of broiled chicken, cheesy kind of pasta, rice cake stir fry, sweet potato in some sort of sweet sauce, that’s all I can remember.
We didn’t have everything as all I was craving for were the bbq meats and the kimchi wrapped in lettuce leaves.
What not to bother with, the spring rolls and fried gyozas.
This place is definitely worthwhile for the meats but they can improve on the veges. The pumpkin for bbq was really old and a little mouldy, which explains the 4 instead of 5 stars
Actually it is quite good and I would like to recommend it to my friend. However, the only drawback is the price that is a bit expensive for student and not ecomonical for people have poor stomach.
We had Groupon deal for this restaurant, was rather dubious at first as I know Korean's love their meat. Also the concept of cooking the food yourself didn't entice me much! So with trepidation we marched in & were seated instantly & briefly told the concept of barbecuing at the table. So pleased it was a cool night as that cooker can generate some heat! There was, as thought, heaps for the carnivores, & luckily for me, who occasionally eats seafood, there were some fairly good looking prawns I delved in & started the cooking process gently turning the prawns over the charcoal until they were charred (the way I like them) To accompany my prawns I chose some roasted pumpkin, sweet potatoes & some roasted chives, chillies & onion oh & shoestring chips. Partner really enjoyed the pork belly which was tender & cooked up beautifully over the coals. Enjoyed a wine each & generally had a fun night
Hands down best Korean BBQ I've had in Brisbane. Parking is a bit of a nightmare since its so close to the Lady Cilento and a school across the road, it's in the same shopping precinct as Ben's Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant if that helps. I went here with my friend W~ before she goes overseas to teach English.
We got seated straight away and got told by the ?owner that the charcoal/grill would arrive soon and to help ourselves to the buffet and drinks. I love the giant fridge full of icy cold water. There's also alcohol and soft drinks available at the front counter but I'm all about the aqua+++
Theres a pretty large assortment of meats, vegetables and banchan to choose from. From the top of my head; ox tongue, teriyaki beef, marinated chicken, marinated beef, beef steak, octopus, prawns. For veggies, pumpkin, onion, garlic and sweet potato. Cooked food wise, two types of cooked chicken, I think fried would be the wrong word to use cause they sit out for a bit and get soggy, japchae, tteokbokki and I honestly went so I could have all you can eat tteokbokki but I never ate it cause I was so busy eating everything else. Banchan wise, there was so much! Kimchi, radish kimchi, marinated cucumber, marinated bean sprouts, marinated garlic chives, terrible terrible fish cakes and a few others that I didn't eat but all the ones I mentioned besides the fish cakes were delicious! There was also a giant rice cooker, deep enough to fit a child and a dipping sauce station. They also had a giant section for lettuce leaves, PERFECT FOR WRAPPING YOUR MEAT SSAM STYLE. TAKE THAT $3 BASKETS ELSEWHERE.
You really need all those veggies to appreciate how good the meat is! Which is why I love this place, I can get my charry chunk of meat, put a blob of miso, some chives and kimchi, wrap it in a ball and consume it with one bite. The perfect morsel! Salty, sweet, spicy, sour, perfection!
They had a small dessert section with cut watermelon pieces, orange segments, a lemon sponge cake and a banging carrot cake cut into tiny inch size pieces. The perfect bite size dessert to be honest! Some may argue the pieces are too small but its a buffet mate, take as much as you want.
My only complaint is that the actual grill themselves aren't as hot as I'd like, not ideal if you're starving.
Like most on here we went as a foursome with the Groupon voucher.
Service was excellent and the food was really tasty. The best compliment I can give is that I will go back voucher free (!).
We arrived at Red and Green at 7pm-on a Thursday night-and we were met with a half filled restaurant. We were quickly shown our table and how the process works, as it's a Korean Bbq buffet.
The selection of raw meats were good. The quality was decent for the price. ($30 pp) One thing that put me off was the beef bulgogi sitting in a thick slimy liquid. However, the selection of sides were really good.
I liked how they gave us plenty of charcoal so our bbq was raging hot, which allowed a quick and proper sear on our meats.
Overall, this restaurant provides good value.
Sweet little Korean charcoal BBQ - really well stocked buffet with plenty of meat selections, the best selection of sides I’ve seen, including Kim chi, seasoned cucumber, fish cake, bean sprouts, sweet potato, cauliflower, potato gratin and even fried chicken?! Should have taken a photo of the buffet because that would be more helpful than a list, but I will get some next time, because I will definitely be back.
Woolloongabba - near brewhaus and in the same complex as Ben’s Vietnamese.
$32 all you can eat buffet and $23 for 2 beers, 1 soju and 1 coke.
👌
Had a Groupon deal dinner on a Wednesday night. Luckily we booked a table at 5:30pm because half hour later the restaurant was almost full. I like how some cooked food was available and also how some fresh salad/veggies/fruit were available because a meal containing meat only makes me sick. Service was super quick and the net had been changed frequently. Enjoyed my dinner there.
Phuong Tran and I arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was quickly filling up. At $44 this Groupon Korean BBQ buffet for 2 was too good to refuse. Our hot charcoal arrived within 30 seconds of us sitting down and it is time to start grilling!
The buffet has a small selection of cooked foods and side dishes. There are many beef cuts, some marinated pork and chicken, pork belly, mussels, and baby octopus. I was disappointed there were no prawns tonight.
By 7.30pm the dining area was packed out and the kitchen staff were constantly refilling the many trays of food. Diners were organised and there were no long queues. I noticed the charcoal fire here was much hotter than Tobaki and Mapo so the raw meats cooked quickly.
We had an enjoyable dinner and will return. Thank you guys!
I tried this place after purchasing a groupon voucher.
The meats quality quite average, but you will have many options including side dishes and hot meal. It is including rice, but there was no soup included, it is available if you want to order as an extra.
The space is very tight (where you grab your food), a little inconvenient to brush shoulders with others (while carrying food in your hands).
Though customer service was alright (nothing really outstanding or making you overwhelmed), the restrooms are probably not so accommodating and it was on the dirty side, along with the old building it is overall, well, old.
Could not remember how many managements have been at this spot but this time should be the best! Had a Groupon deal dinner last night. Although it was Wednesday night, I was surprised that it was full house. Then the varieties of food with friendly service self-explained the busy situation. I have to urge other foodies to try their marinated meat, particularly the chicken thighs which were so tenderised and tasteful. Love the half-shell mussels, they are so full and sweet. Give it a go and you will know what I mean.
Have had some late night Korean BBQ cravings lately, which have been further exasperated by friends sending me photos of grilled meats especially late at night. Finally decided to scratch the itch whilst satisfying my curiosity for Restaurant Red and Green at Woolloongabba, after having seen quite a few online promotions about it.
Impromptu buffet dinner with a Groupon voucher and oh boy it was worth it! Arrey of freshly marinaded meats including good cut of sirloin, decent salad section, especially the assorted chives is a must try with bbq sirloin steak. Deal included a choice of either soft drink or beer or wine and summed up with a sliced cake. Hot section included cooked ribs in gravy and fried chicken drumstick which were excellent too.
Nice service and we like the buffet. Moreover, there's a variety of food you can choose in buffet. All in all, service is amazingly good and price is inexpensive.
Very best value for money Korean BBQ in Brisbane. Some delays due to covid policies but hey! Delicious!
Only real criticism is the menu could have a bit more options.
I highly recommend!
Charcoal Korean BBQ and BYO wine! We had such a great time despite the Covid delays - order your buffet selection with staff. Pretty decent meat quality, very attentive and friendly staff (thank you HeeSub!) and well ventilated restaurant.
Really worth for the buffet if your in the area! The food is great for an all you can eat Korean BBQ it's not the best meat quality however there is an awesome range of it as well as some tasty sides and desert. I would recommend if you are new to Korean BBQ to look up how to do it as the service here is pretty non existent however this doesn't matter if you know exactly what to do. There are a few things that could be improved, 1 the tables are a bit low when sitting on the chairs so it may be hard to get up, and 2 since the pot of charcoal for the grill is small the usable grill area is greatly reduced to just the centre of the grill plate which limits the amount of meat each person can cook. Overall this is great value if you can eat alot.
Great concept. Korean Grilled Buffet cooked on top of a Hitachi grill. You have choices of chicken, beef and seafood. Included in the buffet choice also unlimited hot cooked food e.g. steamed rice ,fried chicken, Korean salad , spring rolls, and for dessert they have fresh fruit. Food was very filling. Nice experience. However, food at the buffet isn't replenished or refilled on time 👍👍👍
I went here twice in a month for meat buffet. The restaurant was not too busy and clean. Taking my experiences, the first visit was better than later. There were different kind of meat and side prepared and I would like the first. It doesn't mean that second visit was worse, it was still quality. I like especially side dishes that were so tasty. Staff were very kind and helpful. Reasonable and yummy. I would like to recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Great meats! The Wagyu beef was our favourite...so good it doesn't need any seasoning. There wasn't anything we tried that we didn't care for. Side options were good from baked pumpkin, rice, sweet potato and various salads. Desserts weren't that impressive with a couple fruit options and carrot cake. We came for a groupon and wouldn't mind coming again but probably not for full price.
