Review Corner Cafe 26 - Brisbane

Cameron Bowden
The food was amazing, the coffee was amazing; however, their timing of delivery was off. We went here for breakfast. My partner received her food five minutes before I did, and our coffees were delivered after we had started eating. The overall presentation of the cafe was very warm and inviting, we both enjoyed our time here. The service was exceptional. I don’t like mushrooms, but they came with my meal (big breakfast), and the employees were concerned there was something wrong with them… there wasn’t. I’m certain they actually care for the customer, which is nice. We will return again.

Wow! Had late brunch here and tried the crispy pork special, avocado on toast, hot chocolate and a mango smoothie. 10/10! Clean restaurant and very friendly staff members! Will definitely be back!

Great coffee and friendly service. Honestly the best coffee I have had in a very long time and prices are fair. Always lovely service. Havnt eaten here as of yet, however definitely intend too. The place is always busy so the food must be great also. Keep up the amazing coffee and service.

Ok so the decor isn’t that great but the staff and food was worth it. The brekkie burger and smashed avo that we had was excellent. The coffee was better than expected. Really recommend for a Sunday morning inexpensive brunch.

Food is amazing here. Tastes good and great presentation. Nice big cafe with street parking. Their menu is varied and comes fairly quickly. The people there are very friendly and work so hard. Good place to meet at Indooroopilly without having to go to the shopping centre and it’s walking distance from the train station.

Hidden gem in Indooroopilly and Taringa! Very reasonably priced little joint. Coffee was delicious! They use belissimo so the quality of coffee won’t disappoint. Food wise, portion was larger and ingredients are fresh. We will certainly come back. Service was lovely and friendly.

Wonderful service and delicious food. Came here early in the morning with my friend and her sister and greatly enjoyed our breakfasts and our drink. Will come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed brekky here today. Great service with a casual atmosphere. Not too noisy, great to catch up with friends. Large menu which caters to dietary requirements and good value.
Will definitely be coming back😊

Amazing service and even better food! This is THE best eggs Bene I’ve ever had, the mushrooms were cooked perfectly, the halloumi was exactly right and my coffee was huge and one of the best I’ve ever had. I could not stop complimenting the meal whilst eating, along the lines of ‘I could die right now, and be totally satisfied’ or ‘I want to eat here for every meal for the rest of my life’. The girls are so lovely and sweet and provide excellent service.

Most of the food outlets at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre are open. The problem is there are no tables or chairs for us to sit down to eat our meals. So we decide to leave the Centre and walk 300 metres to this popular Cafe.

We love the experienced friendly staff here. Our lunch order is quickly taken and our Spaghetti Bolognaise and Fettuccine Carbonara are served in 15 minutes. Nicely presented, we are surprised by the generous servings.

We enjoy our meals which are reasonably priced. Phuong Tran likes her Mixed Berry Smoothie too. Thank you guys!

Best all round cafe I know of in the greater area. Generous, high quality food, outstanding customer service and soooo cheap!

Came here to get two coffees and was waiting 30 minutes! We were running late by this point so tried to wave down a staff member to get the coffees put into take away cups and we were ignored. Finally got a staff member’s attention and told them we would like our coffees take away and they proceeded to bring out our coffees in mugs anyway, and then a couple of minutes later threw two takeaway cups on our table for us to pour ourselves. Pretty disappointed in the service and quality here and will not be coming back.

Came in for lunch yesterday with my mum as she loves the staff here. They are lovely and remember mums order. The service was a little comical as we had a trainee waitress but the others were playing close attention. It reminds me of when I was training new people.

Food wise- the servings were massive. Mum had the haloumi burger- it was chockas with caramelised onion, mushroom and chunks of haloumi on Turkish. The side salad was huge and came with olives, Parmesan flakes and a good dressing. We could have easily halved, so bang for buck is a ✔️.

My fish and chips were ok- I think I got a fishy vein but most of it was good. I had the same salad with added onion and it made for a really good meal.

All in all we had a good time. Would I be back? If mum has her way 🙂

To eat we

Bellisimo coffee blend served here which was pretty good in flavor & presented well in a really large cup, so very good value there. My breakfast that morning was eggs which were not cooked particularly well. The two fried eggs were a little rubbery in texture & the accompanying tomato wedge was very bland. The bread was supposed to be sourdough, but didn't taste like it

Went to explore this cafe on Sunday morning couple weeks ago. Service was friendly and business seems alright. Ordered a flat white and an open melts with smoked ham and pineapple. Coffee is made of Bellissimo brew, which is one of my favourite. Strength and the depth of flavour are both above average. Open melts came with generous portion, well presented and tasteful. Thanks for a happy brekkie.

I’ve been here on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience. The food and drinks always come quickly, the staff are friendly and the menu is well priced.

So my housemates and I decided to give this place a go, since we have never been here. And i have to say I am not gobbsmacked. The place lacks in decor, energy and and good quality food. We got the big breakfast which we wanted, and for such a big meal you would expect that all the things on the plate would be made from scratch, instead we received beans which were from a can, a hash brown which was coles quality, bread that again you can find at coles, there was hardly any butter on the toast etc. The only good thing was the coffee and the eggs really. I am very disappointed at how expensive the place is too. We paid almost $100 between the three of us and that was only breakfast, imagine how much we would've paid if we got lunch. Don't get me wrong we ordered extra for haloumi and baked beans but its absurd that we paid that much for low quality food. Granted i would've been happy to pay all that money if the food was fresh. If i compare this cafe to others that I've been to, I cant say that it is my favourite. I wouldn't recommend this cafe to others really.

We were walking past this cafe and decided to try the coffee.
It was Bellissimo coffee and I loved it. It comes in a decent size cup. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The ambience was very nice. It’s located at the corner of Riverview Tce and Station Rd with two wide doors which makes the cafe naturally lit.

It was OK. I'd definitely go back because it's cheap and not bad, but some others wouldn't tolerate it. I've heard the coffee is GREAT especially for soy drinkers, but our dine-in experience wasn't ideal. I felt the staff were stressed and lacking in numbers. Service wasn't very good, and there were a lot of mistakes with our orders (both coffee and food), my glass was chipped, they mixed up things a little with gf and lactose free orders, there was no fresh bananas for my pancakes (which were hard and not nice - my friend got them with bacon and described them as being worse than pancakes made from a box), the chai's are really small, the eggs weren't perfect, the caramel sauce is a bit extreme, the Bircher muesli tasted like homebrand muesli (it also wasn't Bircher, it was just muesli with yoghurt and frozen strawberries on) and a big table isn't easily accommodated. That being said, it was cheap, and I would go again and get something else, not sure what, probably a bagel - they looked nice + a large drink, or takeaway coffee.

The coffee is always amazing. It's the only place in Brisbane I've been too which has mastered soy milk. Staff are very friendly and attentive as well.

This is the best cafe I have ever tried. The special coffe bean is so good . Never got the same taste in other cafe~ I like this cafe :) . Really worth to try~

Excellent coffee , enjoyed my long black very much. The breakfast looked enticingly spectacular but was a little disappointed t
o find an avocado that was rock hard and eggs that were poached and left tasting of vinegar.
Once again, coffee was great and service was pleasant.

I am really conflicted as I don't usually like to write a review if I haven't eaten there. But after visiting to the Corner Cafe 26 on multiple occasions I feel there is a need. I have given Corner Cafe 26 an average rating as there are both positives and negatives. The positive is that the coffee is smooth and tastes nice. They don't burn the coffee and even with a double shot it has a mellow taste that goes down well!
However, the negative can outweigh the great taste. Service is absolutely atrocious! They will serve one customer and then make the coffee while chatting amongst themselves and the line grows with customers. They don't seem to rush serving, and you get the feeling that your are not welcome to be ordering from some of the staff, as being there is just too much for them. But what I find astounding is that I have never paid the same price two times in a row. I get the same coffee each time, and have been there a dozen times, and the prices have ranged from $4.50 to $6. Looking at the menu, I have tried to work out how they arrive at some of the prices!
So it is not altogether bad, but if you think service is important to dining experiences, maybe give this place a miss.

We were welcomed warmly by staff at the Corner Cafe 26, and given our choice of seating. Menus were given and orders taken promptly, and our friendly waiter was lovely to the kids, even fetching Fat Straws, all the better to enjoy their hot drinks. "Mumma, it concentrates the flavour into the straw, so it makes the hot chocolate even more delicious," said Junior Masterchef Mr 10.

Ivy. Best coffee I've had in my life!! Great service, was greeted as soon as I walked in. Friendly staff, with obvious great relationships with regulars. If I weren't just passing through, I'd come here everyday!
Fifi
Don't waste your time or money. We went for breakfast here. Service was slow, coffee burnt and undrinkable. Avocado on sourdough was actually unripe and bruised avocado on white bread. Bacon overcooked and cold, haloumi salty as hell. Will not be back. Cost $45 for rubbish

Table for 4- 45mins later no food?? They weren't even busy??. An early morning Sunday Breakfast catchup with friends.Supposed to be hassle free??
Arrived at Cafe 26 at 7.55am, only 2 tables being used so nice and quiet. We were seated & immediately ordered our drinks. When the lady returned with one smoothie she asked to take our food orders (8.10am) Noting them down on her notepad & getting us to point at our choices on the menu to be sure.
The drinks came slowly one by one- the lady making them herself. As we were catching up and waiting for our food another couple arrived & were seated. At 8.40 our drinks are well finished, still no food and a waitress is seen serving the couple who arrived after us?? We gave it another 5minutes (8.45am) when I called over a waitress who had only arrived on shift. Advised her that we ordered at 8.10?? Still no food and those ppl she just served arrived much later than us?? She disappeared in the back and returned to say "THERE IS NO ORDER?" We pointed at the lady who served us & she approached her.
The lady who served us arrived at our table with 4 menus?? She mumbled something about the computer (OUR ORDERS WERE ON PAPER!!) and asked could she take our orders again...No real apology or attempt to go out of her way to sort it out.

We left, the four of us after 1hour- No Food.

We walked to a cafe inside Indro Shopping Centre & without any exaggeration- the four of us was served in under 10mins!

CORNER CAFE 26, I have been told this is not the first time!

I ordered something from the menu and when I got the food it wasnt what I ordered and I said so. Then I had 3 different waiters approach me asking me what I had ordered then they went away and came back with the wrong thing again. The poached eggs were raw on the inside still and when I mentioned that the overall dining experience was underwhelming they charged me the full price plus for the meal they had got wrong and said they'd tell the chef about my feedback. This all makes me never want to go there again. The owner is always quite nice so I feel bad for her.

My friends and I come here once a month or so and staff are always more than happy to help. Food is delicious and coffee is hot, flavoursome and reasonably priced! Recommend it.

Kid sized bread?. I have been to Corner Cafe 26 many times before and have always been impressed by the generous size of the meals. I'm gluten intolerant, but generally steer clear of gluten-free bread at restaurants, because it always tastes horrible/ like it's been in refrigerated for years. However, considering my positive past experiences at Corner Cafe, I thought I'd give their Steak Sandwich with gluten-free bread a shot. I was disappointed when my meal arrived to find the gluten-free bread was two VERY SMALL slices of bread, which hardly encompassed the contents of my sandwich, in comparison to my friend's very large serving of turkish bread on hers non-gluten-free version. I know it seems nit-picky - but maybe get some better gluten-free bread, or at least double up the slices so it's value for money, particularly since I think I paid extra to have gluten-free bread (although I can't remember for sure).

Fabulous people run the cafe! They make everyone feel welcome. Their large coffee in the mugs is the best & most generous serving in brisbane. I love their food which is good home cooking and I always suggest to my friends to go there as I know we will never be dissapointed

Don't Bother. Don't waste your time or your money here. Terrible food (usually old and microwaved), bad service (slow as well) and below average coffee.

Horrible, waste of time. We went in here for some breakfast on a weekend thought it looked alright and the prices were good. We sat down ordered our meals and waited for the food.. we ordered the big breakfast with the complimentary coffee and another breakfast with a coffee... 10 minutes later the lady asked if I had ordered with her... YES I DID ORDER AND YOU WROTE IT DOWN.. apparently not. So my friend got her breakfast and asked where my breakfast was and the lady blamed it on some film crew. Still waiting and my friends food is getting cold so she's eating it - fair enough but where was my breakfast and our coffees? I was watching all the people that had come after us eat their meals and I was really getting annoyed. 45 minutes later we FINALLY got our lattes which were not that great but how would I know I only had the foam because I was ready to leave. So their reason for not having my breakfast ready was they had missed it and they were making it right now.. an hour after we simply walked out - but got my friends meal for free. Never going here again, the main lady obviously doesn't have a clue about customer service.

Nice little place! Coffee was great, really friendly service and nice neighborhood atmosphere. Had the French toast with bacon and strawberries - HUGE MEAL! Friend got croissant. Food did take slightly long to get to the table( 25-30 mins) but didn't worry me too much.

Great coffee! Recommend a large dine in, there great. Breakfast was also fabulous.

BrilliantBLT and the carbonara is the best I have had in Brisbane and only $16. The owners are extremely warm and friendly. The wagyu burger I had today was better than my $30 main at Crosstown last night. Highly recommended

Corner Cafe 26 - Indooroopilly, Brisbane. This is a great place to go to before (and/or after) seeing a movie at the nearby Eldorado cinemas. My friend and I went here for a coffee since the movie we were going to see did not start for about an hour more after buying the tickets. (After the movie we returned again; a hot day, needed plenty of rehydration).

Corner Cafe 26 has the perfect social vibe ot it with brilliant lighting and openess around it. There is a television for sporting occasions and a fish tank to relax to while waiting for your orders.
This is one of those places were you can expect too businessmen in their suits having a work - or social - lunch and a few tables down see high school students on holiday or after school having a quick social catch up at the same time and that being a norm.
All that and the noise level is still quiet, so you can have a civil conversation without any worries.

The waitresses here are very friendly and even quite cute. It further creates the vibe for the friendly atmosphere. Second time around she even had a bit of small talk with us.

To review a place for coffee (with some exceptions) I feel compelled to get something alongside it. Luckily there was a coffee & cake deal (it did not take the iced drinks, unfortunately) so I got a Vienna instead. My choice of cake was the mud slice.
To say the least, I was astounded at the amount of cream that they used in the Vienna; from memory I think there was more cream than espresso. It was quite good overall, with the cream acting as a straw of sorts to the espresso so it was not so shocking in heat when it got to my lips.
The mud cake was very rich. It had a dark chocolate flavour - always a good sign - and was really thick. Along side it was served some whipped cream and ice cream, both were smooth and delicious. I was surprised that I could get through it all.

The iced latte afterwards was very refreshing. It was kind of an iced coffee for those not wanting the whole cream and ice-cream addition; sort of a chilled version of a regular coffee.

For the actual espresso orders, there is the espresso machine near the pavement window. A fantastic idea for those wanting coffee on the run while simultaneously being reassurring to the diners that the coffee is being prepared with care.

If the coffee here is any indication, I am optimistic about trying the main meals - brunch or whatnot. This seems like a good place to meet up next time for a pre-movie meal.
Osaka
Not for me. Never had meals there but ordered takeaway coffees. We were not sure what the point of them having two counters if they use only one counter and made us wait for 14 minutes for take away coffees! And a flat white was like a latte and weak.
Blair
Terrible. Customer service is pathetic, meals are overpriced and bland.
Jesse Crockett
Terrible service below average food. Lots of staff and all too busy talking to serve. Coffee order was completely forgotten and food was very basic for cost. When reminded about our coffee they still brought the wrong coffee twice. Staff were being berated by boss about smiling to customers but apparently they weren't taught how to serve, take orders or how to bring correct coffee. Bad bad bad!
Orange Blossom Special
Nicely done!. What a fantastic place to go to slip away from it all! Friendly staff, great quality food, decent prices and a beautiful décor makes it easy to come in, relax and unwind. A great spot to clear your mind before jumping back into the daily grind again!

A friend and I thought we’d give Corner Café a try for lunch (Aug 14) in that we had a 25% off coupon and neither of us had been here before. Walking in it was nice to see that this location had a wheelchair ramp to get into the restaurant. Once inside, it was the beautiful darker hardwood floor that caught my attention. The tables were nicely laid out in straight lines with lots of room to walk between them.

My friend and I chose to sit towards the back at a table that had a bench on one side and a chair on the other. The tables were roomy and nothing in this place made it feel cramped.

A waitress brought us our menus and asked us for our drink orders. She was genuinely friendly and chatty without it feeling like it was forced. My friend ordered a Flat White ($3.60) and while waiting for the coffee, it gave us a good chance to go over the menu.

With categories such as Gourmet Sandwiches (the only meals which included salad or chips) ($12.50-15.90), Tasty Sandwiches ($6.90-9.90), Open Grills ($11.90), Salads ($13-15.50) and Pastas ($13.90-18.50) there was a lot of healthy choices at fairly reasonable prices!

In that my friend and I are “chip” people, we both opted to have the Grilled Chicken Avocado Sandwich ($12.50) and we both chose the chips instead of the salad, of course! Although this sandwich automatically comes on Turkish bread, there is also the option to have it on white, wholemeal or multigrain instead.

After a comfortable wait and a good chat, our meals appeared nicely presented on rectangular plates. The slight toasting of the Turkish bread enhanced the aroma of the meal that was placed in front of us. Combined with the fragrance of chips, this was certainly very mouth-watering!

Having to try a chip first we both agreed that the chips could have been a bit warmer, but they were still really good! Thick cut, slightly golden, but not greasy, and perfectly salted, these chips were a great choice to accompany the sandwich!

The Turkish bread was extremely fresh and very tasty, complimenting the subtleties of the big piece of juicy, tender chicken and the thick slice each of avocado and tomato, and the generous amount of dark leaf lettuce. All the ingredients were no doubt fresh and high quality. This sandwich was superb! And for only $12.50, a definite bargain!

While we paid our bill, we got to have another little chat with our waitress as well as the owner of the restaurant. You could tell that there was a lot of pride in the meals they served and obviously enjoyed doing so. This was a fantastic and relaxing lunch and a perfect place to catch up with a friend. This was also a good place for business luncheons as we saw this on our way out.

So whether it’s business or casual, I would highly recommend Corner Café as you will be well taken care of on all levels!

Excellent service, the staff were very welcoming and nice. The food was very tasty at a reasonable price. Will be coming back more often!

Excellent ambience with extremely friendly staff who never fail to serve with a smile on all of my visits.

Great location too, I often drop by picking up a coffee before going to work each day.

I'm particularly in love with their tea, it's rare to see restaurant serving tea that are fresh from tea leafs instead of bags. Highly recommended. Cheers.
Darkchocau
Nice local cafe with very friendly staffs. Healthy and home style meals, great place for Sunday morning breakfast, with heaps of gluten free slices too
Kiwi Ramjet
Great coffee and very friendly staff!. The title says it all really. I'm not sure what some of the others are on about, because the coffee is actually pretty good. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and normally gravitate towards the more boutique style coffee stores like Bellissimo in New Farm or One Drop in Newstead, but was pleasantly surprised by the coffee here at a local very unpretentious establishment. I've found it usually quite consistent.

So basically, don't expect all sorts of blend options or anything, just a decent coffee in nice surroundings served promptly by very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Below average. These guys dont know how to make coffee. I could barely taste the coffee in a supposed latte with an extra shot, When I asked for a small latte with an extra shot I got given a large, tall, tasteless latte, it was basically warm milk in a tall glass. The food is very bland, however it is somewhat cheap. The setting is nice, with nice pictures inside and general decor helping to create a nice atmosphere. Most of the staff are nice, however there is a strange lady (staff) there. (who I think owns the place, she makes really odd comments about my appearance) If you want a decent coffee, go down the road to "earth coffee", dont waste your time here.

Coffee no good and don't know what a long Mac is

Great local. Whether for coffee at 7 in the morning or 9 at night the staff are always friendly and the coffee delicious. The new menu is a great improvement on the old menu. The caramelised banana pancakes are a personal favourite. It is also a plus for all pet owners that you can bring your dog and the staff will bring a bowl of water out for them. Really it is a good easy option for lunch with friends right near the Indooroopilly train line.

Great food! amazing coffee!. My wife and I had been a couple of times before and the staff were always friendly and service was good but the food was kind of, you know, average.

So when we heard they had a new menu, we thought we'd give it a go and all I can say is wow. The food is SO much better than it used to be. I had the equivalent of what would be a big brekky and it was large and delicious. I can't wait to go back and try out the bubble and squeak. Oh and the coffee was fantastic.
Mark
Been there 4 times and each time there has been problems from staff forgetting our food we have ordered, forgetting drinks which we had to order 3 times today we ordered food and it came up twice with the wrong food on the plate. It is always busy so thought that we would give it a go a at different times. Today we went with friends for their first time we will all be never going back again
Joanne
Excellent, consistent coffees. Staff always friendly and professional. Steaks are good and the pesto pasta is delicious if you are vegetarian like me.
Jeff Brown
Great Spot. We wandered into this cafe late at night when it started and hardly anyone was there; not a good look. However Kathleen, the boss was kind and brought us out a damn nice steak sandwich. Still my favourite. Now when I am at some hyper pretentious eatery having a deconstructed apple crumble - I kid you not - I think I would much rather be having a steak sandwich at Corner Cafe 26 at 0.000001% of the price.

Will be back. Popped in late Fri evening for coffee and cake - very friendly and prompt service. Husband delighted with massive mocha and accompanying cheesecake delicious.

Will definitely be back for something more substantial in the future.

...the coffee is large and much appreciated; muffins warmed and enticing. it is ridiculously hip pocket friendly - we paid little more than $5 for a muffin and coffee.
