Got a take away from here which was a change from our usual and were pleasantly surprised. Good value for money and quite tasty. Only issue was I wasn’t as keen on the naans but everything else was good.
I ordered their Butter chicken and LOVED it. Despite a small hiccup with the size they fixed it fast and were very good about it. Definitely recommend it and will definitely be trying it again.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for takeaway & dine-in meals since it opened (must be getting close to 20 years ago). Love the owners & their cooking. Favourite meal: chana masala.
Been going to Maharani for over 20 years. So yummy, such a nice family. This is what started my love affair with curry and the original is still the best.
Hidden gem. Dont judge this place by its appearance if I did I would have never have tried the food here - the decor is outdated to say the least but these uys have been in operation for such a long time thats saying something. I must say the food is really beautiful. Nice authetntic flavours.
This is the best Indian food in Brisbane. Don't let the decor fool you. They are known very well for their takeaway however dining in is still the best option.
A+ food and A+ staff
Consistently good. Always a good meal at Maharani. Friendly service and well priced.
Great curry. I love the curry here. really recommend the lamb saag. Great value for money.
Best butter chicken in ...... the world !. It's not the most glamorous restaurant, and I've never eaten in, but it is my regular go to for take away - always Butter Chicken. I have been coming here since I was a teenager, so about 13 years, and it never disappoints. Creamy and delicious which I like, this was one of the meals I missed most about Brisbane when I lived overseas. Although my boyfriend thinks it's good, he prefers/is used to a more traditional butter chicken. But I can fault it nor find one the world over that has the same taste.
Great!. A real surprise, the restaurant needs some updating but don't let that put you off. The service and quality of food is what keeps the locals coming back. 5 stars!
What an awesome dinner. You know when u just keep eating cause it is so tasty and wholesome, and you enjoy every mouthful. This is the place to go. We were going to have take away as we moved to the area but we were lucky that a smorsgeboard was out due to a large booking. It was exceptionally good value $19.99, for 4 meat mains and 2 vegetarian, naan, rice and all the additional trimmings. This is really a place where u can't judge a book by its cover. Owner has been there 15 yrs and they had 2 phones ringing at once for take away orders. Can I say anymore. Love it
Great Indian!. Consistently good food. Have never been dissapointed. Service is friendly and decor is average. Food is outstanding!
Quite good...really. Not the best Indian place on the planet but it's like a comfy old shoe that you can always fall back on. Consistently good nosh. Love the saag and lamb madras.
Best Indian Food outside of India. Maharani has the best indian food outside of India. I have visited India twice and Maharanis is the only Indian local indian food I have found anywhere near as good as the real thing. The service is great the food is fantastic. The Lamb Saag is mouth watering. I had them cater for my daughers engagment party and everyone loved it. I would recommend it to anyone.
Good food, quantities are good and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended
This place is the best curries on the north side. It is consistently excellent quality. Fast and friendly service. I have had take away and dined in, and both were a top quality experience. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. I love it.
Nice. I have been eating here since the place opened in the early 90's. The food is good and the prices very reasonable, the decor is average and the service is barely adequate. But the food is the attraction and it is good.
I think this place is great. Went off it because of the madras, very heavy, but since tried it for the tomato based meals. Excellent!
Superosnic Family run business. Want good cheap Indian?
This is simply the best Indian in Brisbane.
I have spopken to people that drive 40 minutes to get here and have the buffet!
It has resonable prices, prompt service and the Butter Chicken or Lamb Saag are awesome. Fantastic Naan bread range too.
The best Indian food in Brisbane! Who cares about decor when the food is so good. The Very Hot Lamb Korma is my recommendation!
Just had the buffet with some friends. Good suburban Indian restaurant. The decor is tacky and the food is good. Definitely will come again.
Food was tasty, need some work on the appearance but was good eating
Good lunch value, food is ok. Maharani has a good value $9.95 lunch special that includes a curry of your choice with rice & a can of soft drink.
The butter chicken tastes pretty feral, but the lamb korma is unreal.
Great lunch spot. An awesome place for lunch eat in not so good take away great...
Best Indian in Qld. The only better Indian food I have found is Jasmin in Adelaide and the only better curries have been in the British Midlands. I followed these guys from their original haunt at Nundah and they are well worth the effort.
The curries here are great and the breads, in particular the Aloo Paratha, are as good as they come. The service is also good with a lot of regulars getting to know the owners. Bookings dont seem necessary but it can get busy.
It is BYO and there is nothing better than a table of friends, a couple of bottles of wine and half a dozen Maharani curries to share.

the food was great. the service was no frills which adds to the charm & it was really reasonable! take some beers or bottle of wine with you
I ordered the chicken biryani and cheese naan, biryani was nice though the green capsicum was a bit much. Cheese naan wasn't horrible but not good either, very doughy and dry. Looks and tasted like something I'd buy at any grocery store.
Overall I wasn't disappointed and enjoyed my meal, I would recommend the biryani to any who've read the several bad reviews on other menu items.
We've been dining here for nearly 30 years and the food is amazing. They offer a unique take on Indian food, the flavours are different to what you traditionally get at Indian restaurants, but that's what makes it so appealing. The owners are always friendly and make sure every visit is a pleasant one. Try the Lamb Madras. Definitely highly recommended.
My family and I really love this restaurant, we’ve been multiple times over the years and it never lets us down. The family that run it are really lovely. We are huge fans of the butter chicken, palak paneer and the korma! Thank you for the wonderful food !
