Superbowl is currently featuring 5 of their menu items as part of a Winter Warmers lineup. We dropped by recently to try 3 of these dishes:
* combination laksa, $17.80
* BBQ pork wonton noodle soup, $15.80
* century egg & lean pork congee, $15.80
The laksa features a base paste prepared over a process spanning 2-3 days. You can certainly taste the complexity of flavours with every sip. The Malaysian style curry laksa can be paired with a variety of proteins/vegetables; our combination version was packed full of ingredients including roast pork, char siu, chicken, prawns, squid, and tofu puff. Top stuff.
If you can't take heat/spice then something like the BBQ pork wonton noodle soup may be more to your liking. The soup itself is quite light, with the stronger flavours coming through in the char siu and wontons. It's a very full bowl too.
Somehow we also managed to fit in a taste of the classic century egg and pork congee. At some establishments you may be fishing through the bowl to find the bits of century egg. Not so here, where a whole egg (sliced into wedges) is up front and centre for your viewing and eating pleasure.
This was an invited visit; part of our meal was complimentary, and we happily ordered and paid for extra food cos it be good! We'll be back for sure, and hope to bring more people to partake in the shared dishes from the rest of their extensive menu.
So delicious, we ordered the chicken corn soup, bbq pork laksa and fried rice. Will absolutely be back again and again :)
Fantastic experience. Best laksa in Brisbane. Authentic Chinese Malaysian food. Funny and friendly staff members. They value people when they sing their "Happy Birthdays" and dim the lights down - shows they're bringing everyone on the experience. Love eating and drinking here before heading out to the valley. I always return!! 100% would recommend.
Great lunch stop with work mates. Had good lunch time specials with lots of variety. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Ordered Brisket, black bean, king po, sweet and sour and some dumplings. No complaints.
Being so close to work I have tried many dishes here and they all seem to be pretty good. Service is also on par. Easy work lunch eat and go
Tried this unsuspecting little restaurant in the heart of the valley on a Friday lunch. May I say, on first impressionsit may seem like just another run of the mill Chinese restaurant. However try their Laksa and you will be blown away.. literally full of flavor.. rich, spicy, hearty deliciousness I was inspired. Must come back with more people so I can try the other dishes because there’s just no way I’m coming here and not ordering the Laksa..
I was quite surprised with how good the food was from here. My friend and I came here for lunch and ordered a roast duck with rice and beef ho fun with gravy sauce. My dish was the beef ho fun and it was really tasty with no strong taste of MSG. I have been to other places where the beef ho fun is smothered in MSG. I didnt leave dying of thirst! Would come back again!

The combination laksa is phenomenal, probably the best I’ve had in Brisbane. We came in with a big group on a fairly busy night but they served us quickly. One of the best family-run places I’ve been. Great food, great staff. I really love this place.
You just can't go wrong at Superbowl - the menu is HUGE! Service is fast and the place is always jam packed (so don't be surprised if they're a little abrupt). The food here is consistently fantastic! Our personal favourites are the Fried Pork Dumplings and Salt & Pepper Squid to start. For mains we rotate through their BBQ Duck, Scallops with Ginger & Shallots, Crackling Roast Pork and Mongolian/Sizzling Beef. Some of the dishes can be a bit meat/deep-fry heavy so we always get a side of steamed greens with oyster sauce. Hands down our favourite Chinese restaurant in Brisbane!
Dined here tonight for the first time! We ordered the sizzling beef, seafood and beancurd hot pot and fried rice. The meals were fresh and quality of ingredients was really good. We were very impressed with the hot pot containing large fresh scallops. Prices are a little higher compared to Sunnybank but is expected. The only con was that our fried rice dish came out around 20min after the two mains so we had gotten half way through the dishes already. Service was good though as the waiter was very helpful and friendly and apologised at the end about the rice. Overall we would happily return!
We are locals in the valley, live nearby and work nearby! And seriously the best family run restaurant we have been to in years! Boss Mum runs the place and very social amazing sons who will do well to one day take over the business! Delicious food, amazing service and great vibe! Will always keep coming back xo
We have Dinner on Christmas Eve here. Happy to see there is no queue. Delicious aroma welcomed us to the restaurant. The food was awesome!!! The waitress are nice!! They will close on Christmas and Boxing Day.. the owner was nice too..
Noodles were amazing flavor plus, prawns very large and full of flavor and cooked to perfection, the right amount of spice and sauces tasted handmade. service fast and good, small place but had a great atmosphere. Excellent value for money
I've been going to Superbowl for years but it's been a while between visits lately. Thankfully it's still awesome! So quick & plenty of flavor. They've even had a little makeover. Yum!
Lovely quick flavour bursting food! Perfect for lunch. Amazing atmosphere. Relaxing and charming little joint. Pleasant decor. Really great place and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Big big menu and lovely service.
My favourite Chinese in Brisbane. Everything I've had has been lovely and fresh. The steamed Chinese greens and the vegetarian fried rice are so great. I'm not even vegetarian - it's just that good!!
A Valley classic. Reliably cheap & cheerful Chinese BYO. Have had quite a few raucous banquets here & the 'happy birthday' song ritual is a freaken hoot.
But tonight was home delivery via UberEATS. Our hangover cure order was • sizzling garlic chicken • sweet & sour pork • shredded beef Peking style • special fried rice. Everything was pretty standard with no frills & the overall effect was comforting.
This is a Fortitude Valley institution - the restaurant has been around with for years with Jimmy at the helm. The wait staff are attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations from the extensive Chinese and Malaysian menu. The dishes we chose were quite nice (although a little bit too Westernised for my fussy Malaysian-Chinese palate). I think that they use far too much onion - particularly in our shallot and ginger scallops - which had a large amount of both shallot and white onion. We had dinner there with friends on a Friday evening. The restaurant was packed and the noise levels were incredible. Everybody seemed to be shouting and nobody could hear anything so it's not a place to linger over your food and drinks. We would be happy to go back to try some other dishes but not on a Friday or Saturday evening.
This resto has been here for quite sometime. This time I got something for take aways for my daughter, hubby and cousin who were playing at New Farm Park. I bought a roast pork rice, a roast pork n bbq pork rice and crispy skin chichken rice. Roast pork was quite good but did not like the bbq pork cause they were too dry for me. The chicken was actually nice however they gave the breast part so It's kinda turn me off a little bit since I'm more to thigh/leg parts eater and end up only eat the wings parts. Pricewise were okay consider the portions were quite big.
We've lived in Brisbane for over 3 years now, and to date we've only found a couple of good Chinese restaurants. Happy Boy and Yumcha Cuisine. However, for straight forward simple Chinese food that isn't Aussie influenced, we were at a loss. Especially coming from Adelaide where there is rarely a miss when it comes to Asian cuisine. So two weeks ago I ended up at this place by chance during a birthday party. And I simply said, it's the best Chinese food in Brisbane CBD. Roast pork, shredded beef, squid, veggies it's all just so good. On top of that the staff are friendly, attentive and speak perfect English. Definitely our regular now.
One of my favourite spots in the valley.
At face value, it's a good Chinese restaurant, but the depth is not immediately obvious; it grows on you. I love the staff, they are very typical 'no sh*t' Chinese business, but always recognise me and welcome me back, even with months or years between visits (I don't live in inner-Brisbane anymore).
I think they have one of the very best Laksa's out there if you're having trouble choosing!
I love going to superbowl, staff are always so friendly and the food is amazing especially for the price. It is a family owned business so it's super authentic. Defs worth a try!
Solid authentic Chinese. We come here for lunch a bit. First time I was disappointed, but quickly learnt to avoid the main specials menu... Wonton noodle soup, laksa, crackling roast pork and roast duck are all good.
Went there twice, the first time I had one of their lunch special, black bean pork and rice, it's only $10.80! And it was so yummy, the staffs are very very friendly with excellent service.
Food is amazing, great service, and good price, so the next day I went back for the the second time, as soon as I walked in two staffs recognise me, greeted with me with big smile and had a little chat with me.
This time I had the beef with noodles, it's from their menu but not lunch special, but its just $11.80, it was so delicious! I'm from Hong Kong, these two dishes brought me back to my hometown. I'd definitely visit them again next time I'm in Brissy.
My favourite place to go after 10pm. Everything else is shut. The menu is extensive. The service is no nonsense and efficient. Prices are great. Staff are friendly.
I love the salty fish rice as well as the char kway teow. And I've tried it in nearly every restaurant in the valley. If it's too noisy (as some reviews said) it's because it's popular and people are having a good time. It's the Valley. Go somewhere else in a quiet suburb.
Has amazing laksa! Seriously off the hook. Other food is average. Service is ok. Décor and ambience is on the dingier side - think of a typical Chinese place from the 90s. But the laksa! Sooo good!
Love the birthday song 😂. Always good times and great food at Superbowl 😁 Located in the Valley so gets busy on popular nights out. Great for groups
This place is great for a social meal, especially Friday and Saturday nights. It's loud and crowded but if that doesn't bother you then I would recommend it, it's always a lot of fun with friends and you can bring your own drinks which is another bonus. The restaurant is a bit dated but clean and the food is generally good, it always comes out quickly and it's freshly made to order. I love the staff here, they are always nice and up for a laugh. Would recommend the salt and pepper tofu and stir friend green beans Peking style.
If ever you're looking to eat here at Brisbane, you should try out Superbowl for delicious authentic Chinese food and great service! We ordered eight different plates and everything tasted great!
I consider this the bwst chinese in brisbane and waiting for someone to prove me wrong :)
The food is consistently fresh and tasty although i recommend not coming here on a friday or saturday as it gets ridiculously loud and full of drunks ready to go out.
Delicious Chinese, decent portion sizes and affordable price. Also BYO anything which is awesome for those who don't like beer or wine. Very VERY pact but adds to the atmosphere... I imagine it's what it would be like in China haha
HI GUYS IM LIEW SHAN KUN. IM CHINESE FROM MALAYSIA... AND I LOVED CHINESE FOOD LOTS.
I HAD WORKED IN SUPERBOWL AS A WAITER FOR 1 YEARS FROM JAN 2015 - DEC 2015 THEN I STOPPED... WHY I WILL WORK FOR THEM?
IN BRISBANE , I HAD TRIED LOTS OF CHINESE FOOD IN CITY NONE OF THEIR FOOD IS GOOD... AT LAST I TRIED SUPERBOWL FOOD AND I FEEL IM EATING MY HOMETOWN FOOD THEN I CHOSEN TO WORK FOR THEM... THEY WHOLE FAMILY IS FRIENDLY AND THEY TREAT ALL STUFF VERY NICE...
BUT NOW I HAD BACK TO MY HOMETOWN.. I HOPE I CAN GO BACK BRISBANE AND ENJOY BRISBANE'S LIFE AGAIN. AND I LOVE THE SEA IN GOLD COAST.... SEE YA NICK MY THIRD BOSS
Ordered the Chinese sizzling steak, honey chicken, fried rice and spring roll entree. Very impress with the large amount of serving and the quality of the sauces. Definitely coming back. Just one thing- please cook the steak a little longer so I'm not eating raw meat.
The best Chinese I've had since living in Australia (7 years!!) - there was 5 of us so we all picked something each to share. Crispy beef strips, chicken curry, chicken chow mien, prawn toast, salt and pepper calamari, fried rice. All were amazing and big portions! And only came to $35 each including a few beers for the guys! Highly recommended!!
Its my go to spot after 10pm for roast duck and chinese mushroom + cabbage. Friendly family owners, top duck. Reliable and always fresh chinese takeaway.
Average, but I'll return for the atmosphere. I like how loud this restaurant is and how they sing happy birthday to someone at least three times every night. I like how everyone gets a little drunk and joins in. It's a fun place. The food is your average Chinese food - Except for the lemon chicken, which is better here than anywhere else I've tried it. Prices are also average. It won't break the bank but realistically if great food is all you're after you could get better for less.
7/10. It's good for a basic Chinese feed. I've always had good meals, the only one I didn't think was great was the hotpot. The restaurant is a little dingy but the service is fast and the owner is always super friendly when we come in.
Closest to Valley Corner. For those that miss the Valley Corner restaurant, the owners brothers runs Superbowl so you'll find some of the Valley Corner regular dishes on the menu here!! A new favourite in Chinatown as we've found the dishes just as fresh at the VC & consistent.
Great place!. Great, food, great service, just great! Everything I've tasted there is amazing!
Be sure to book as they are always super busy!
A cute novelty is they turn off all the lights and an old "happy birthday" track plays as they bring out a deep fried ice-cream with a sparkler in it to the birthday girl/boy! Love it! I was there one night and it happened 6 times! Every time the lights went out everyone got super excited haha
They don't do split bills so be prepared. Staff are great.
4.5 stars!
I've only ever eaten either the BBQ pork and wonton soup, or BBQ duck noodle soup here, but I've never had a bad one. Great value for money and the lunchtime service is always quick if not a little indifferent. They let you split the bill if dining with colleagues.
IT'S TRUE!! They really have the best laksa in town!!
Superbowl is super. Average food. The stir fried asian greens are a favourite. Fun atmosphere - it seems to be as least 5 people's birthdays every time you go.
Right in the middle of the valley and close to the bottle-o, making this a good place for predrinks before a night out. Have been here many times. Definitely book in advance.
BYO, cheap, tasty. I was close to writing a bad review the first time I went to this place, went for a friends birthday, they had double booked the table, luckily the other group offered to go elsewhere. Then the food was crappy, got a banquet and the deep fried stuff had had been deep fried within an inch of its life and the stirfries left a funny texture in the mouth - kind of like the sauces had been thickened with cornflour or something and were just not very pleasant and didn't really taste that great either. And then I went back again a few months later and drastic improvement. Much better organisation (and still super busy) and the dishes tasted far less processed and oily and I enjoyed all of the dished my friends and I ordered to share. I don't know if there was a change of management/chef or if they just picked up their game but certainly a vast improvement and still pretty cheap for the size of the meals. Also a plus having BYO.
The food is good not as nice as those posh Chinese restaurant but the taste is authentic enough.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Brisbane. Highly recommended. If your not used to spicy food ensure you ask for your order very mild.
Fantastic!. My friends and I are regulars at Super Bowl in the Valley. Great place to go with a group friends for a fun night! Food is delicious and very generous. Honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, special fried rice, spring rolls and the dumplings are the best I've ever had. It is a friendly and loud and fun atmosphere. Great on a thurs-fri-sat night, you generally need to book in advance. The birthday song that people get played is great and everyone in the restaurant joins in singing. BYO- so bring your favourite wine and eat the best Chinese food!
Popular place to end an early night.. I have dined here 50 times, and will probably dine here 50 more times.
Good place to finish a day at the races, or a few hours out drinking. Good food, but the Michelin guys won't be showing up soon to hand out any hats.
Traditional older style Australian/Chinese not Pan asian or modern. BYO, with a bottle-o across the road. Good value for the food on offer. Restrooms are not obviously serviced by the same team whom look after the Sheraton hotel.
Good spot for larger groups, particularly if you wish to share, and more suitable for younger crowd as is most the Valley.
Hot tip: Bottle-o across the road is over priced as is most small bottle shops surrounded by BYO dining establishments. But if you are coming from a successful day at the track, get the cabbie to pull into Dan's at the Hamo or 1st Choice at the start of the valley across the road from the Emporium at the Waterloo hotel. The later is definitely where I would go if you are the DD chauffeuring a group around.
Love it. My partner and I have been there a few times and absolutely love the chicken, vegetables and rice and the thai green curry.
Have been here a few times with friends as it is their favourite in the Valley. Got in early during Valley Fiesta and ordered the pecking Duck 3 course. Good duck served as pancakes, san choy bow and fried rice. No complaints with the volume of duck for 3 as we were all full. The fried rice was however a liitle simple. I like the simple touch at end of orange slices to clean the palate. This is a reliable restaurant especially if unfamiliar with the Valley.
One of my favourites! Super tasty simple food. Jimmy Noodle will tickle your taste buds without fingering your wallet.
So the food isn't great but it's open really late and it's funny.
Was looking for no nonsense great food Chinese. This is the place. Gets quite busy so you may want to book. Yes decor and shopfront a little dated and service could be a little sharper, but if you want great food at a reasonable price and it's Chinese your after this is the place.
Awesome!. One of our favourite places to eat in brisbane, great food good size meals and jimmy and the staff are always smiling and make you feel welcome
Super Noisy!. The only problem with this place is that it can be so noisy!!!
Best Chinese food in Brisbane! Great price, great serving sizes, amazing flavours and Jimmy, the owner is a champ!
Decent food, good-sized portions for the price. Has a mixed selection with food-court-style-with-orange-sauce and good old-fashioned Chinese dishes - the hosts are happy to help you select what suits you. Even got the complimentary soup appetizer once, which was a first for me in Brisbane!
Best Chinese place in Brisbane! Cheap and good food! Large portions and great service, will recomened to anyone!!!
YUM!. This truly is my favourite Chinese restuarant ever! The food is amazing, quickly cooked, served and devoured. The two guys that own it are hilarious! Very friendly and always help serve the dishes. BYO is brilliant too. Try the Szechuan chicken, delicious!
Large servings, great food, this restaurant was recommended and were glad we listened.
Great restaurant go here often food is always good
I have to put it out there:- Super Bowl is kind of like the movie fight club….. first thing about Supper Bowl is that you don’t talk about Super Bowl.
They are always top notch! They will always do their best of find you a table if you choose to dine in. Highest, best Chinese restaurant in Brisbane hand down. One of the few places that haven’t changed the quality of their food in over a decade. Every time amazing, what’s better is if (you def will) order more than you can eat, a takeaway box is offered! Brisbanes best Chinese, low price amazing quality. Oh’ it’s BYO also… def worth a visit any day of the week, if there have been horse races held in Brisbane, dinning at Super Bowl is on most locals list to finish the day…. If they can can get a table…
Hands down the best laksa I've ever tried - including ones in Malaysia. Staff are very attentive and friendly, food is just great, portions are generous, and the modern/traditional interior makes the whole experience a lot better.
Amazing service and amazing food. This is a super friendly family own Malaysian restaurant in Fortitude Valley , only 15 mins walk from The Calile Hotel in James Street. We arrived Brisbane on Christmas Day and we had our first meal here. We ordered two different Laska and both were flavourful and they taste as good as if not better than the Laska King in Melbourne.
Really nice looking place on the inside despite a dated exterior. Foods really quite well made, though could do with a bit more flair. (Though I didnt order anything too exciting, just fried rice and honey chicken).
Little bit more expensive than what I'd think is normal, but you do get a really clean interior and nice staff.
It's a really solid 4 stars, nothing exceptional (apart from the cleanliness, which was great) but I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.
Tasty Chinese and Malaysian food right in Fortitude Valley. Vegetarian options available. Food has large portions and is made with quality ingredients. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they have lunch specials.

One word to describe this cozy and family feeling restaurant: AMAZING!!! If I need to describe the staff in one word: AWESOME!!! Soul Food is absolutely fantastic and customer service above and beyond. Each dish is full of multilayered flavours complimentary to the next dish. Once you start tasting their food, your tongue keeps slapping your brain from joy. Taste buds having a party and you feel super sorry you’re getting full. This was our 5th visit to this family restaurant and it’s getting better visit after visit. Highly recommend it for all occasions.
Updated:
I loved the new renovation, all the new furniture and cutlery 🍴. You can tell they have put a lot of thoughts into the whole remade.
A lot of Chinese restaurants in the valleys are dated because the owner do not have the confident and vision to start new. I am so glad super bowl has managed to renovate, design new menu, and keeping their top notch service and food quality. Chinese food shouldn’t be just cheap without service. And super bowl prove they mean business and they are committed. Well done.
For food wise, laksa still the best in Brisbane.
After hearing from my friend that this restaurant has the best Laksa in Brisbane, the only way to find out is to try it.
Yes yes, this place does have the best laksa in Brisbane. It is a well balanced laksa (curry vs coconut) I like my laksa serve with Chinese roast pork. It serve with a generous amount of bean spout and fried tofu.
The service was very fast and friendly.
Thank god I have find you super bowl, I will be back!!
Very tasty BBQ Pork Laksa. Rich broth and just a little spicy. I always prefer a little more vegetables. I would certainly return for more.
