Review Miko's Bento - Brisbane

One nice little Japanese restaurant just at the corner of the toowang village. The prawn is crispy from the outside and juicy from the inside, with a bowl of hot udon, makes it perfect. The softshell crab sushi roll is also amazing with all those sauces. the price is so good, only a little bit over 10dollars and just find out they have lunch special between AUD8.90-9.90. THAT'S CHEAP. Definitely coming back for it.

Nice place and nice food! Definitely will come back again soon! The sushi rolls are awesome!

Not great but at least good! The bento was a little stingy but the rolls are awesome and the dumpling soup was delicious

Very nice place. Visited here since Uni. Friendly price, nice staff and taste food. The bento is so good which has meat, veg and fruit. A great choice for lunch or busy day. Also good for friends to catch up. Back here today. Still good as before. The fresh and hot food still with steam. Highly recommend.

I ordered delivery from here through an app and thoroughly enjoyed all the food I ordered! The sushi was fresh and the udon noodles with seafood was a delicious dish. I’d love to order from here again or even visit in person.

Foods are nice. However, staff who was on the toll tonight was rude. I could not hear them properly so ask them again what they said. And she gave me rude look. She also gave me that look when I order to get sauce on the side instead of on the dishes. That is not your job to judge customer’s order.

You don’t expect much for a $9.90 Lunch Special these days, but the Chicken Katsu Curry was just awesome. Rice was just right, chicken was crispy, and the curry was delicious. Thank you, I will be back!

Decent price points for the quality and quantity of food. Katsu curry is delicious and staff was super friendly. Will definitely be coming back soon :)

The bento lunch special was attractively priced but the food quality was something to be desired. Service was alarmingly slow despite not being busy. The salad and main (karaage chicken) were drowned in copious amounts of mayo, which takes away from the dish. All the sides were mediocre at best while the karaage chicken was quite nice.

Miko's Bento ought to focus more on their mains rather than be distracted with providing supplementary and lackluster variety side dishes to diners.

Delicious light and crispy tempura and fresh sushi. I ordered extra curry sauce on the side and used it as a tempura sauce 🤤🤤.

This place is absolutely great, and one of our favourite places to eat. They have a really good and wide menu, and my partner is obsessed with their Takoyaki. Personally, they get me every time with the house sake. Sure, it's not top shelf, but damned if I can go there without ordering at least one!

Time to update my 2018 review on this reliable Japanese restaurant. Arriving at lunchtime the takeaway trade is brisk. The lunch order takes some time to arrive but the wait is worthwhile. The Medium Sashimi Plate is nicely presented and the Sashimi is fresh. The Agedashi Tofu and the dashi broth is very good. Well done guys!

I ordered some takeaway from Miko’s bento tonight and it was really quite nice, I wasn’t sure how a bento box would turn out in takeaway form but both the teriyaki salmon and chicken katsu bento boxes were very nice and tasty. Definitely an enjoyable meal and very reasonably priced.

A chilled out spot to grab a variety of sushi rolls!

Been here a few times with different people but these photos are from the time I decided to dine out here for my birthday before we headed to the airport. The staff are always friendly and it’s been consistently good service, the food is priced well to the portion sizes and there is plenty of options to choose from.

Great Bento Boxes! I had the Spicy chicken Bento Box and Daughter had the Chicken Katsu Bento Box. Good servings size and very tasty. It all tasted freshly prepared! The Chicken Katsu Curry seems popular. So will be back again to try!

Waited over 30 minutes for 2 takeaway sushi rolls. The place was not even half full.
The food was also a bit of a disappointment, over sauced with no so fresh ingredients.

It is a small store in toowong. The store sell variants of sushi and japanese food. I tried their okonomiyaki which is only $4 (if i am not mistaken). The okonomiyaki is just in the right size for snacking. It is not large so it will not make you too full. The taste was just fine, not that tasty yet not that bad. However it is not my fave, I will try other menu but not this again.

Was starving after a long walk and found this place. Nothing fancy decor wise but the multitude of vege food options pleased us. The cost is low enough to order multiple small dishes.. although we decided to try the bento boxes. Ordered 2 vegetarian bento boxes and spring rolls = $38. LOTS of food for 2! Very tasty, flavourful, and filling! Super happy 😊

Superb! Wonderful food with a reasonable price! The tiger roll is really awesome! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am writing this review today because of the employee talking to me rudely on the phone.. i have come to this place 10 times and i use to love it... but i got the wrong order today and called back and the staff says its the same price and its ok... just want to say i didnt cal to get free food... u just spoiled a regular customer whos sent 15 friends of mine to your place... very rude on the phone... will never come back... u can keep ur 7 pieces of dumplings coz i only got 5... also you took a dollar extra for curry and there was no curry... why is it that every time a new place starts doing good business.. they become stingy and the quality goes down..

Went here to get a bento box. Opening hours say 10am it was 10.30am. Doors wide open, open sign on display. Was gestured to not walk in as the floors were being mopped, asked if open and they said no. Walked away feeling embarrassed and annoyed. Change your opening hours if you can't cater to customers who are willing to drive 20 minutes to your business. I had already been patiently waiting all morning until 10am and now I wont come back.

The grilled salmon nigiri was alright. The grilled salmon itself was good, but a pity that the rice was not sushi rice. As for the grilled scallop sushi, all I can say is I've tasted better. I might give the bentos a try next time as they seem to be value for money, but I wouldn't try the sushi here again.

Great Service, Great Food and Great Environment.

Definitely coming back here. Perfect for lazy nights. Bentos are peng and on fleek. Service is lit.

Very disappointing... went with my family for lunch.. we went to order two vegetarian Bentos (and sushi) manager wouldn't give a vegetarian special as they weren't 'on the specials' refused to even entertain the fact that offering zero specials for vegetarians seems a little discriminatory. Her attitude was terrible and totally disrespectful.
Have been coming here for awhile and the food never disappoints. Prices can seem a little more than other places but you get big portions. Would definitely recommend.

The bentos are really good. Very fresh, very tasty, good value. The tempura udon is delicious but the quantity of tempura you get isn't worth the price, in my opinion. The yakisoba does't have soba noodles. It's just ordinary spaghetti, and the sauce doesn't compare with the real thing in Japan. So stick with the bentos. They are delicious, and the main reason to come here.

The staff are very friendly, and the service is very quick.

My partner took me to this place as we are big sushi lovers though some sushi places can be pretty pricey and overrated. This pace is definitely one of the best I've been too so far. We both ordered the dragon roll. A really colourful and well presented dish. It looked amazing, tasted amazing, the portion size was admirable, was made fresh and was really satisfying. It did cost about $13 for the roll but I'd rather pay for one large quality great tasting roll then $30-$40 on more smaller more bland ones to fill you up. If you love sushi you will not be disappointed here.

Good place to eat if you are hungry. The chicken Katsu is good. The quantity served is fine not bad.

Quick lunch or budget dinner.

Not the best Japanese food but it's okay.
Tasty Japanese Food at Reasonable Prices
Teriyaki Chicken Curry ($10): This place was quite special to me as they served (non-deep fried) teriyaki chicken, which was moist and tender, and went well with Japanese curry. Not like other places that I visited, they usually served (deep fried) katsu pork or chicken with the curry. Spicy Pork Don ($12) was also tender and tasty but not spicy to me. The meals were served in big portions with a fair amount of meat and rice. So it was reasonably priced. I will go back to this place again.

Had their lunch specials. Pretty good value $9.90 for some bento options. Pretty good taste and good portions with lunch specials. I would try other items on its normal menu another time.
Tastytreat
Pretty decent food for the price point. I've just had the soft shell crab bento box, miso soup, sushi, rice & softshell crab $15.
Tasty without being fantastic.

Decent Japanese cuisine. Plenty of options & Bento boxes are well portioned. Priced well & relative to serving size! Nice selection of Japanese beers. Will try again!

Love the Chicken Katsu Bento, really tasty. Would prefer some dumplings rather than the two little pieces of sushi though or some edamame. Want to try the Tiger Sushi Roll next.

If you are so hungry and you crave for a big portion of japanese food, maybe this place will be the best for you! It came not only with big portion, but also yummy tasted.

I ordered their salmon teriyaki bento box yesterday and it came with generous portion. I can ate not only rice with salmon teriyaki but also some vegetables with mayonaise seasoning, miso soup and 2 differents variant sushi which are tuna and i forgot the other one. All of them were delicious.

Used to be better. This place was amazing when it was Shushi79, each time I have gone in the last 6 or so months the shushi has been getting smaller and more poorly made :/ disappointing
Tc_fairyqueen
My boyfriend and I love getting take away Bento Boxes from here. The food is delicious, lots of variety in the bento boxes and the service is quick and friendly. The bento boxes also come with a large miso soup. Defiantly recommend!

Not very nice Japanese food. Both the rice and soy sauce is not authentic which essentially ruins the meal.
