Hubby and I came over to the watch Deadpool 2, but made sure we had time for a few sneaky drinks before the movie.
Great place to grab a couple of drinks and share dish and watch the cars and the crowds go by.
We will be returning!
Had dinner at this bar last Saturday. It was the second time that we had dinner at restaurant along Oxford Street of Bulimba, we were so surprised how busy was the street. Lots of cars on the street and lots of diners joined in together for the fun in Saturday night. We were lucky just managed to have a parking spot off the road. Walked in the bar and found that it was full of peoples who were having social gathering. Fortunately, we were arranged to have a table inside with more quiet vibe. Not feeling hungry, so we just ordered six of the chicken wings with garlic and honey and a shared plate of 500g rump cap accompanied with two sides of Green bean and Roasted Pecan Salad. It took reasonable timeframe to have the chicken wings and we did have extra two pieces (did not know why?). Wings were very tasteful with the sweet honey and juiced meat. After that, the rump cap came to the table. Wow, it looked very nice with med-rare steak sliced in pieces with potatoes and glazed bacon. Loved the bacon. the sourness and sweetness of the bacon pieces was marvellous. Interestingly, heroes of the day were the side dishes; honestly I never had the green bean so well prepared and sweet. Cherry tomatoes in the salad made really matching with the rump cap. Another thing I liked to bring out was the service from the passionate wait-staff, his hospitable attitude was paid off from extra half mark this review. Thank you & cheers!
Awesome vibe here! I've driven past a few times and couldn't wait to try it out, so my sister and I popped in for a drink on a Friday arvo. We got one of the cocktail jugs which was super yum, then we ordered some sweet potato chips which came out quickly and tasted delicious. Great place to chill and have drinks!
Had booked a table for Tuesday night and when we got there it was pretty busy with 20-somethings having drunks after work. There was two staff members working floor and bar however only the girl (with glasses and short hair) was wonderful!. Didn't grab her name but she came and collected orders, apologized for delays brought out our food and drinks, The other staff member with her looked like he couldn't read a menu - useless and placing the other staff member under too much stress. Great food and a good atmosphere for a weeknight!
Great food in the restaurant and we had a lovely waitress she made our night very enjoyable.
We had a date night and great food and service. The food was prompt and came together (very important) our 1 year old son came with us and was greatly welcomed which is rare and appreciated :)
Visited Barcadia as part of a pre booked group. Walking in, there is a open ambience to the layout but the high bar stools were very uncomfortable. Drink orders were taken immediately by an experienced and personable wait staff who was quick and confident to remember everyone's orders. Drinks were timely and as ordered. Although food orders took almost an hour to be served after ordering which was just far too long for a lunch sitting. Food was presented beautifully in the modern Australian style and was fresh and delicious. If you have a lot of time to take for lunch and don't mind waiting this is for you .
Not a bad place. Came here for some wings and beer on a quiet weekday with a friend.
Wings were pretty good not anything amazing but certainly don't regret ordering them. Good atmosphere
Great food and service . Loved the wings but especially loved the waygu tataki! Really impressed. New fave on Oxford Street! Will be back for sure
Bulimia’s favourite night spot, Barcadia Kitchen + Bar just got more popular with the locals by serving up breakfast on weekends from 7am. The breakfast menu boasts beautiful simplicity with hearty favourites and what you see on the menu is what you get as Head Chef DJ takes great pride in cooking up delicious, quality food with the Barcadian-twist. For the perfect hang over cure, you can have the Barcadia Big Breakfast ($24) - middle rasher bacon, eggs your way, on fried potato galette with garlic kale, wild mushrooms & house smoked tomato, and those looking for something lighter will be impressed with the Cloudy Apple Soaked Bircher Muesli with roasted coconut, yoghurt, citron preserved fruits & nuts ($14).
Amazing food, great setting and really good value. Will be back!! Amazing food, great setting and really good value. Will be back!! Thanks very much
We loved Ahmets and were sad to see it go from this location in Bulimba but a visit to Barcadia solved that. It has the atmosphere of a bar and some really great music - some current pop hits combined with some grungier, classic tracks. They played Nirvana, Weazer and a current Miike Snow track during our visit.
No one came to seat us and it seemed initially that food wasn't really their focus. We had reserved a table on the deck and eventually, after standing around waiting for a while, we found the table with our name on it and menus waiting for us. We ordered at the bar when we were ready and bought some drinks.
The food arrived and everyone was really happy with their meals. Certainly, food is important to the people in the kitchen. I ordered the barley bowl with fish as an addition. It was a large serve of barley with roasted vegetables and mayo drizzled over the top (it could have done without the Mayo). The fish sat on top and looked and tasted like snapper. It was all cooked perfectly and the fish had a gorgeous crispy skin. We ordered chips for the table and they were really good too. In time our table was cleared with a smile by the waiter.
The service was minimal but friendly when it was there. The food was fantastic and was the highlight for us.
With it's great long tables, Barcadia would also be a great place to come for a few drinks with some mates and just get some food to share. The decor is lovely but it also had a relaxed and casual vibe. I'm looking forward to returning and trying a few other menu items.
Today we went to a gastro/pub place. It has some negative and positive reviews, so we decided to give this place a chance. I chose The Big Oxford Cheeseburger. It took about 25 minutes, but the burger tasted so good, it made up. The burger came with beer battered chips. The chips were spiced beautifully and tasted great with the spiced tomato sauce. I recommend this place if you are willing to wait 15-25 mins. Great place otherwise.
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.
+4.5
A cool new venue on Oxford st in Bulimba. Pretty decent food and priced well too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back next time I'm in this area.
Very nice venue, great for our work catchup with great food. Decent sizes as well.
Well this is a bit of a funny one, it's not really a first Impression because I've actually been to Barcadia a handful of times but I'm calling it a first impression because the only thing I ever eat there is the Buffalo Wings so I don't feel I've had enough of the menu to do a full post.Barcadia is a rather new edition to the beautiful riverside suburb that is Bulimba. Sitting about half way down the Oxford Street Strip with a largely open air venue but does have ample indoor seating and a slightly more formal sit down restaurant section.
Visited here on Sunday with my husband before heading to the movies. After considering all options on Oxford St, this place had the best vibe. Awesome set-up and atmosphere that would suit many occasions - stop in just for a drink, light bight to eat, group dinner, dinner for 2, or even a big night out with friends. Loved it!!! Just wish there was something similar closer to home. Wines and veers were great, although a little expensive we thought.
This new bar has been open a while now, we’ve been a few times for drinks but not had food until yesterday neither of us could be bothered to cook so we thought we’d give it a go.
There is a reasonable selection of beers on tap and some better selections bottled in the fridges.
We shared the brisket tortilla and sweet potato wedges. The food came out pretty quickly. The sweet potato wedges were a good size portion and nice enough, they’re probably not hand cut on site, but nice enough to nibble on. The brisket was tender and tasty with some warm soft tortillas and accompaniments.
Both dishes were nice, not really amazing, but nice enough. I’d have them again though I would probably choose the Tap House for some similar food.
There’s a new bar creating a bit of a buzz in Bulimba. While the beers, wine list, and range of cocktails are impressive (as you'd want from a new bar), there is also some amazingly mouth-watering food on offer. Located on the lively Oxford St, Barcadia offers a relaxed atmosphere to sit down, have a drink and nibble your way through a wide array of share plates.
Easy 5 stars for Barcadia. Found on the popular Oxford Street in Bulimba, Barcadia serves some of the best chicken wings I have tasted in Brisbane, or really anywhere in Australia. Different flavours to choose from, we had the Dry Habanero Rub and it was delicious as well as hot. The rest of the dishes were great as well.
Stephanie, our hostess was awesome. Super friendly and helpful and took her time to answer our questions and made great suggestions for cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, great variety of whiskey cocktails *hint* ask Stephanie about their 'off the menu' recommendations.
Overall great service, food and drinks equalled a wonderful night out. Thanks Barcadia, and see you tomorrow night. I'm bringing my team in for drinks and those amazing wings :)
Great vibe and reasonable prices. Highly recommended the Korean style wings ( 50c each on Weds).
Great place for drinks, nibbles and dinner. Have a done a surprise birthday dinner and accommodating. Bathroom on site for easy access. Definitely a go too.
The chicken wings here are fantastic and the staff friendly. I especially like the new manager they have. He's extremely engaging and I watched him move around to almost every table and strike up a conversation with the other patrons, making them and myself feel more welcome.
Small but decent selection and variety of beers on tap. Open plan atmosphere on main dining strip of Bulimba. Reasonable prices on drinks ($10 pint), didn't eat.
Great beer cider and food. Great service. We lost a go card there. Called, they found and the staff member delivers it to our home. Wow for this service. Our second visit here and not our last
