After a quick reasonably priced bite for lunch. Find this place. Had the snitzels, verge burger and garlic bread. Not flash but a good size and tasted good. I would off added a bit more garlic and toasted it a tad longer but otherwise kids were happy and we were all full
Great brekkie spot. Good coffee and very nice food. Service very good. Best spot to sit is outside watching the world go by. Recommend the Brekkie Wrap and the Mushrooms.
Flew into Brisbane this morning and caught the train into Southbank looking for a quick brekky. Found this place nearby however on Zomato it said it was closed on a Sunday. Happened to walk past the restaurant accidentally and it was open. Sat down and ordered coffee which was pretty standard however the food was superb. Nothing on the menu for a vegan however after a quick chat with the waitress, she managed to get the chef to show off his skills and prepare one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. A piece of sourdough topped with, grilled capsicum, fried mushrooms, onion, tomato and rocket. When back in this neck of the woods I'll definitely return.
We arrived early in the morning at Brisbane and visiting Southbank. Sat down just next to the "Brisbane Eyes" and having a cup of great coffee. The latte art is very nice. The breakfast we ordered scrambled egg and muffin. Despite it was a raining day, the view and view are inspiring !
Amazing !!!! Fast and efficient absolutely loved loved loved the pork belly !!!
Sensational food! We made a.... Sensational food!
We made a last minute booking for dinner before a QPAC performance. The Pork Belly was amazing. Just delicious!
Great experience. Grabbed dinner before a show at QPAC and was amazed that this packed restaurant (no free tables) was able to have our meals out in 9mins. The pomegranate salad was a little oniony however the gnocchi and halloumi dishes where perfect. Service was great and all staff were informative and attentive.
Great experience!. We attended this restaurant and the chicken dish was the ultimate highlight! Sage, prosciutto and a buttery polenta - it was fantastic!! my partner ordered the mint based pasta, which was tasty but not outstanding. the spicy nuts were a great starter - we are looking forward to try the pistachios next. The ambience as great and the service was very personalised! Great for afternoon drinks as they have a good selection of "tapas".
---. I am confused over these reviews as our services was lovely, the staff were attentive and friendly. Ordered from some desserts and drinks - the vanilla bean ice cream was delicious
Food good service not quite right. Called in for Sunday lunch. It's a lovely breezy place and nicely decorated with lots of fresh flowers. Shared arincini, green bean salad and artichoke bruschetta. All were good but not amazing. Nice wine list but $10 minimum got a glass. Service was not quite right with next door table walking out as they hadn't had any service whilst our plates were cleared whilst one of us was still very much eating lunch! Hopefully they can get these few things right as it could be a really great place.
My partner and I went here for dinner before a show at QPAC. Really delicious food and great service but terrible value for money. I ordered the gnocchi, the only vegetarian option ($25) and the plate included about 10 gnocchi with a tiny smear of sauce. Best gnocchi I've had, but the serving was ridiculously small. It's hard enough eating vego without protein but when it's that small it's just sad. Disappointing, especially as the food was so good.
Awesome. Stumbled onto this restaurant by accident when going to the matinee theatre with my mum. It was a fantastic find.
We ordered a glass of wine which at $11 a glass for 2 inches was a bit steep but the atmosphere and service definitely made up for it.
We each had a goat cheese frittata if my memory serves me right with a small rocket salad with balsamic vinegar. They were absolutely beautiful. Presented well and the service was exceptional. We ordered coffee at the end which took a while and I had to pick it up from the counter but hey, we were in a happy mood.
I requested their card so I can make reservations next time. Taking my husband there nxt weekend for dinner so hoping it wil be up to par with my first experience.
Amazing. Went for dinner last Saturday night, was advised to go a little later to avoid the pre-theatre rush, and was not dissapointed. Great service from start to finish, an extensive wine list and willingness to make adjust cocktails to suit my friend's sweeter taste. Ordered the confit duck for my main and can honestly say it was one of the tastiest dishes I have ever had! So rich but the inclusion of grapes (intersting choice) and porcini mushrooms broke it up nicely. Both of my friends were also extremely happy with their meals. And although we were sated after dinner we couldn't resist the deserts ordering the chocolate fondant and the lemon meringue. Both were delicious. An all round great dining experience, highly recommend it.
Cant wait to go back! Fantastic :). They have breakfast sorted to a T. The staff where fast and very pleasant. Food was prompt and delicious. Best coffee I have had in Brisbane in a very long time! Location and decor are amazing. Can't wait to get back and try lunch/dinner menu :) 10/10
Sensational! Delicious! Brilliant!. What an absolutely magnificent experience! Four of us were looking for a top end lunch and we were delighted with all of our dishes! We mixed and matched main menu items with the all day tapas style menu and it was perfect! Champ appears to be flourishing in the perfect spot. Aside from the fabulous food hearing a few details of the design, including the reclaimed wood from a 2011 flooded Queenslander that frames the wall above the kitchen and the rusty steel from a farm that has created some stunning lampshades, what subtle and crafty ideas to showcase the old and new. I cannot wait to go back in the evening for some more gastronomic delights and people watching!
Perfect!. Attentive service, chilled music, light filled & open interior. Interesting menu - delicious breakfast on two consecutive mornings. Tea was very strong, coffee was perfect. On my first trip to Brisbane - this was really one of the standouts!
Delicately flavored French cuisine - portions may be a little on the smallish side for very hungry diners but my group of four ladies found them perfect and allowed us room for desserts, which were outstanding. the chocolate fondant was particularly divine. friendly service and affordably priced given the high quality food.
We stopped here for a light lunch with our 3 young children...the staff are friendly & professional, the coffee was delicious & the food classy & very tasty!! We both had the chicken & leek pie with salad, nicely done, homemade! Just what we needed! Only downfall was the long walk to the toilets (to the piazza) as their toilets aren't ready?????? Other than that it was great! Hats off to you!!!
Champ Kitchen and Bar has a lot of things going for it; a prime position in the newish ABC building near the Cultural forecourt in South Bank, a cool scandanavian interior, a breezy open space and an owner (Justine Whalan) whose previous accomplishments are the ever popular Gun Shop Cafe in West End and Anouk at Paddington.
I really loved it at Champ Kitchen. It's done a leap into one of my favorite breakfast spots in Brisbane and that's no easy feat. The service was a tad slower on my second visit but to be fair, they were really busy and the staff were still friendly. I've loved the food and beverages on both occasions. My pick is the chili creamed corn and I'm dying to try more flavors of fruit shakes.
I enjoyed my Cappuccino here and my son enjoyed the black espresso 2 shots. The staff are very friendly and location is beautiful just below the wheel of Brisbane and garden of Southbank. Very nice experience very good coffee.
Really feel enjoyable to have dinner under the Brisbane wheel. The perfect environment and fantastic services. Try Prawns Risotto and Rib Fillet. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this place for a meal and drink.
The pan fried fish with kale was amazing! I have never eaten kale before so was a bit unsure but the way the chef cooked the meal was perfection. Husband had the spaghetti and he enjoyed it too. Great views of the Wheel of Brisbane too.
Very delicious coffee!
Seats available outside with the view of the wheels of Brisbane.
