Review Sings Vietnamese Chargrill - Brisbane

Juan Perlop
I have eaten in here almost every week at least once or twice but the quality has somehow changed substantially. There is an obvious less care for the food they make than what they use to have. Also prices jumped up $2 from one day to the next; I understand an increase due to everything going up but more than a 20% increase (from $9.8 to $11.80) in exactly the same food than the day before is a tad abusive, specially when there is also a credit card surcharge which I think that should be illegal everywhere. I personally have stopped going to Sing's, still a choice for food but they have lost the value point that they used to have, there are better options in the vicinity that you can get for Sing's current price.

ordered grilled chicken char quay tiew, but the girl handed me green chicken curry... I don't have much time for lunch so just accepted it without mentioning to her. Good food with quick service, but better double check when the girl at counter takes order!!

My small bowl of beef pho ($9.80) was average (significantly better with added chilli). Very little beef, not many veggies. It was very busy at lunch - it took about 10 minutes to serve my order, not fast but also not an unreasonable amount of time. It's a 3.5 star pho at best.

Had chicken char kway teow; good value, generous serving of chicken, but missing a bit of the charred flavour from both the chicken and noodles. Good value for lunch in the CBD. Also great that it's across the road from Anzac Square, so can eat sitting on the grass or benches.

I had already brought lunch from home, but my colleague was getting takeaway from Sing’s Vietnamese Chargrill in Post Office Square and it was only going to be $1 via the Ritual app (Brisbane launch offer), and I could get him to pick it up for me thanks to the piggyback feature in the app, so I caved! We all got the grilled chicken Thai fried rice (normally $9.80). The vegetables that came with it could’ve been cooked a bit longer to soften more, but otherwise it was a good portion for the price and pretty tasty to boot.

Favourite place to go get a quick and tasty takeaway lunch. The uncle manning the counter is always friendly and happy to make any modifications to the order. I really like the Vietnamese chicken noodle soup when I’m not feeling too good (picture attached) but the char kway teow and tom yum are all really good. Prices are very reasonable for the serving size and service is very quick. Always lots of fresh veggies in the meal as well.

I got the satay and it was so sweet and otherwise not very flavoursome. Good value for money though.

Very disappointing crispy pork bahn mie. Chunky pork pieces with little crunch, soggy salad and the chilli was some strange seasoned mix, not fresh

This place is one of my favourite places in CBD for lunch. The owner, I guess, is very friendly whenever I see him. My “to-go” is Vietnamese beef noddle soup (not a fan of chicken). The price has recently gone up to $9.80, but still reasonable. I noticed that more options for vegetarian have been added 👍

Never disappointed with their beef laksa. Fast service. A must for a quick lunch. Really authentic taste. Full of value and spice. Dont get scared of their long lines. They move fast.

This place is buzzing every day at lunchtime, and the reason for it is it’s great food! Highly recommend the Massaman Curry! It’s a great little size and comes in an easy to eat bowl. Smooth textures and loads of veg!

I've had lunch here a couple of times and have enjoyed both dishes I ordered. I tried the pepper chicken (pictured) and chicken satay. Both were served quickly and hot. The portion is plenty for lunch with a mix of rice and vegetables. It is also cheap at only $8.80 for one serving. I haven't tried other items on the menu yet but would be curious to try some of the soup and noodle dishes. The banh mi in the window unfortunately looks quite dry and the fact they are pre-made means the bread will be soggy from the sauce too so wouldn't go for those.

Ordered a thai rice and chicken. Food came out fast and excellent customer service. Great food at great prices. If your working in the city and after a quick tasty lunch than try Sings

I have tried several menu items now and each was average. Banh mi was not made fresh and the sauces had soaked into the bread making it soggy. Chicken satay skewers were tasty but the chicken was over cooked and dry. Pad Thai chicken tasted ok but the vegetables were over cooked and soft, the noodles were sticky and dry and the chicken did not look fresh as it too was very dry. There was some decent flavour in the dish but overall I won’t order again.

As a lover of Vietnamese food, I was told to look out for ‘the busy shop in Post Office Square’. It was easy to find because it certainly was busy! Staff slam out the orders super fast which for the location, is exactly what’s needed. I chose a bbq pork noodle salad and it was really tasty. Packed full of flavour, a decent portion size for the price and super quick. I will certainly return as the menu has plenty of other delicious-looking options to try.

A mixed review this one. I was hungry rather early prior to a business meeting and the sushi wasn't out yet so I found these rolls. The beef was flavorsome and a nice texture. The park however was a big disappointment, dry and chewy, obviously left overs not correctly cared for.

Sing's has the best Pad Thai Chicken, I have it for lunch all the time and it's consistently delicious. There's a reason why they are busy - great customer service, cheap and tasty. Can't ask for better!

I really like this place and have been many times but recently today when i ordered i found a piece of metal in my meal. i called them a few times and no one answered the calls

Best value cheap eats for a grab and go lunch. Pad Thai is great. Just wish they actually had grilled chicken skewers as shown in all pictures.

This guy is pretty popular in the cbd area. Can you blv that there is even a queue of people waiting to get their order delivered, every single day?
Tried their grill chicken wrap which they call with some funny name which u can't recollect. It turned out to be good and satisfying.

Tried the BBQ pork Bahn Mi. It is ok, and the meat is juicy and flavorful. Good portion, you will be really full after eating the whole Bahn Mi.

Pai Thai is also ok, little bit oily to my taste but the portion is nice.

One of the busier spots in the packed Post Office Square, and not bad quality food given it is very much about the volume for these guys. Tasty banh mi's on very fresh crispy French baguettes and only $6, you can't go wrong really.

The Thai (ironic, right...) Spiced chicken with rice and vegetables was also great value, and had a great kick to it. Avoid if you don't like a spicy tang.

Great value! Awesome size portion and very tasty. New favourite in the city! The paneng curry was so tasty and crunchy veggies too. Served fresh and fast.

Lunch today was chicken pad Thai. Bit naughty and a bit nice! Very good value for money and very filling. My lemon to squeeze over had next to no juice but other than that it was a solid quick and easy lunch.

The vermicelli here was so good. Even sometimes meat a bit too dry but i still love this place. The service awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chicken pad Thai: Great portion sizes that pack a lot of flavour at a cheap price. Healthy amount of chicken as well as fresh veggies. Customer service with a smile is a massive bonus!

I am in love with this place, you would hardly find somewhere in the CBD where you get the value for your money, generous serving. Most dishes are around $8, I have tried a variety of their dishes, chicken Penang , pad thai, chicken satay, Tom yum, and many others. The chicken dishes comes with grilled chicken and freshly steamed vegetables. The sauces are delicious, full of flavour. I always ask for extra chillies , which gives it a great punch :) Customer service is exceptional! The guy behind the counter is what makes this place worth coming back to! Best customer service in Brisbane CBD!

I'm starting to re-discover the lunch options at Post Office Square food court and this place is definitely a great addition! Most dishes are $8 and below, and have a generous size. Veges & meat appear fresh and are well prepared.
Very good value for money if you're looking for reasonably priced lunch options in the CBD.

Today I went 'off menu' as old bloke behind counter was one of the cooks and he was happy to oblige. Veg stir fry with grilled chicken he suggested. No sweet sauce No sugar OK. "A little bit" he grinned. NO!! I want chopped chilli in it, some ginger, basil and how about salty, maybe a dash of fish sauce or something, "You want garlic" he called out from wok station. "Hell yeah" I called back. In 3 minutes he was back at the counter beaming a big smile as he popped open the plastic lid to describe his 'creation'. "Wow" said a woman beside me "that smells terrific...what's that called". "That my dear, is Mr Sing's Magic." He liked that one! And indeed it was as heaps of broccoli, celery, carrot and green beans all nicely fried. Not oily. The rice underneath not the slightest bit gluggy. The chicken, well, it just tasted like chicken. The basil, garlic, fish sauce and hot chilli was just so right. At $8, we were both turned on today.

Tried this little takeaway joint for the first time today. Cute little spot - they offer fair value for money at $8 a pop for most of their meals, of quite generous proportions!

Today I had the Vietnamese noodle salad with grilled chicken. Despite the noodles still being warm it hit the spot and the veg (cucumber, mint and lettuce) appears fresh. Just wish the dressing was a little tangier.

Verdict: convenient lunch spot that won't break the bank.

friend told me that this place is new...so we came and grab some food for lunch...i ordered pad thai, is pretty quick, size is generous and it only costs $8. will go back to try some other dishes.

Was recommended this place when I told a colleague I was craving me some pad thai. With nothing over $8, I reckon it's a pretty good deal. Serving sizes are also quite generous in my opinion.
I've also tried the satay chicken rice which was pretty good, even if a little bit towards the sweet side. Both meals were served with plenty of veggies. With the choice of chicken, beef, pork, BBQ pork, nem nuong (Viet pork sausage) or tofu for almost all of options, there's a gazzilion different combinations.
Looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu!
