We visited Cinco Bistro on the 29th of February for a dinner for four. Street parking was plentiful albeit tight in the side street. The restaurant itself was easy to find with a warm inviting interior.
For entree we ordered the Grilled Quail and Scallop Risotto to share. The Quail was tender with the breast deboned and the scallops were seared perfectly. For mains we ordered the Darling Downs Eye Fillet and Pappardelle Pasta with Beef Cheek Ragu. I asked for the steak to be rare and rare I received. The steak was paired perfectly with the red wine jus and silverbeet and Beetroot. The beef cheek ragu was soft and flavoursome, with a decent balance of meat and pasta.
Overall the food was delicious and prepared well however there are a few areas which we feel has let this place down, considering Cinco Bistro is demanding fine dining prices.
According to the website corkage is a steep $8.50 per person. However, we were keen to have our favourite wine for our celebratory dinner so we decided it was fine to cop the corkage. However, corkage was actually $9.50 per person when we got to the restaurant. If Cinco Bistro wants us to buy their wine, that's fine, just don't have BYO.
In addition, we were left to dine on large pieces of paper used to protect the table cloth. I mean is this fine dining or yum cha? If we're paying $9.50 per person in corkage, we'd like to eat off the table cloth.
What can I say? Haven’t been back at cinco for 18 months, all the old favorites and French classics are still there. The truffle / four gras tart is simply superb, the soufflé was no fault and the duck confit was Brisbane’s best: meat tender, falls off bone with a crisp skin. Peter also is handy with Moroccan cuisine, his tagine is up there with the greats. A great classic wine list by the glass: vat 1, grossest polish hill just to make a few. One of Brisbane ‘s best
Cinco is an upmarket bistro located in the inner city Brisbane suburb of Camp Hill.
The restaurant has gained a reputation as a ‘foodies’ paradise receiving praise from the hospitality industry and the general public.
Chef Peter draws inspiration from his world travels, authentic tastes are presented in the most stylish fashion.
A life long passion for food and travel, all bought together with love and care, sums up the amazing tastes at Cinco. 🍷🍷
Our Ecuadorian waiter was excellent and very patient 👌
(The Darling Downs Eye Fillet, Beetroot, Silverbeet, Lardons, Fondant Potato, Red Wine Jus was the clear winner,,,,🍖)

Have driven past this place many times over the years but never eaten there so decided to give it a try. Arancini with prosciutto were tasty but could have had a little more flavour. Duck confit with celeriac purée was cooked perfectly and really tasty with poached pear. The pork belly was delicious and cooked well. For desert we had the apple tart wth caramel sauce which was soooo tasty. Sangria cocktail was also really good. Overall really good food only negative is that it’s on the expensive side. Would go back but probably not frequently due to the price.
Amazing food! Waiters very friendly and attentive could not fault.
The pan fried olives for starter...AMAZING, need I say more. Pea and prosciutto arancini balls yummy also.
Main eye fillet steak (yum) Cooked to perfection, salmon with miso eggplant sooooo yum, however small serving could of done with more eggplant to salmon ratio.
Only downfall, Waited over an hour for main though, however 110% worth the wait and corkage very expensive at $8.50 each!!
Beautiful dinner at Cinco Bistro. Nice relaxed atmosphere and great service from the waiters. We had the eye fillet and haloumi and almond crumbed chicken. The steak melted in your mouth and the chicken was sensational. Will be back again
Fantastic. Could not fault. Had Rump Cap with the Green Bean plus the Beetroot and Sweet Potato Sides. Great pairings of flavours. Ordered the Rump rare which was simply devine and melt in your mouth. Sampled the Duck also, that someone else in our party had, which was also fanastic. We had an Italian Pinot Grigio which complimented the experience, Definitely a special occasion venue with a strong local following.
I did see that another reviewer compared it to the likes of Public (CBD), which I am not a huge fan of. This venue seems to be a bit more tangible and lacks the pretense that others do.
It's our go to for occasions
Always great food
Fantastic service
Menus changes are regular and can not fault it
Always find room for a dessert
My husband and I celebrated our 100th month anniversary on the weekend and boy oh boy.... how have we not heard of this place before??? We had a fantastic experience from booking to walking out of their doors. The night started off with the Quail for entré my husband had the market fish (Barramundi) and I couldn't go past the Duck confit. The flavours were beautifully balanced with good portion sizes. Furthermore, the service was attentive and surprisingly very quick! If you're a Brisbanite and haven't been here... do yourself a favour and check it out!! 👌🏽

My colleagues and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Cinco Bistro in Camp Hill, an up-scale (not quite fine dining) bistro, where Chef Peter Stubbs serves up delicious 'Modern Australian' fare with a twist - utilising the best of Queensland's fresh produce and incorporating Asian and Mexican influences to make an otherwise European menu his own.
We began our meal with the Pea & Prosciutto Arancini with Aioli ($10), two Mooloolaba King Prawn Salads ($21), the Potato Gnocchi with Pork and Fennel Sausage ($22), Foie Gras ($21) and two orders of Scallops wrapped in Bacon ($22). The arancini were lovely and rated 3.5-4. The prawn salads were a bit dry and could have used more dressing, but were still very enjoyable and rated 3.5. The potato gnocchi with pork and fennel sausage was served with black truffle and parmesan cheese - a close second to 1889 Enoteca's gnocchi - and rated 4-4.5. The Foie Gras was smooth, creamy and abundant - this rated 4.5. The scallops wrapped in bacon were very good and rated a 4.
The highlights from the entrees were the Gnocchi and Foie Gras - both of which I would highly recommend.
For mains, we ordered four Wagyu Beef, two Duck Breast and a Grilled Barramundi. All of the mains were between $35-43. The Wagyu Beef was beautifully marbled (7+) and was served atop a homemade barbecue sauce with a sriracha-like sauce ringing the plate, fava beans and a unique version of kimchi topped with mushrooms. The beef itself was fantastic and the dish rated a 4-4.5. The duck skin was tender and the breast was tender - this rated a 4. My colleague who had the barramundi said it was the best fish she has ever eaten. The barramundi itself rated a 4.5, but unfortunately the curried potatoes that accompanied it were very disappointing. The overall dish rated a 3.5-4.
With the mains we enjoyed a Capri Salad (Caprese), Mashed Potatoes and Hand Cut Chips with Aioli. The Capri Salad and Mashed Potatoes were both average and rated 3-3.5, but the hand cut chips with aioli were exceptional and rated 4.5.
We finished the meal with a round of desserts including an Affogato, two Panna Cotta with Pear, three Salted Caramel Parfaits and a cheese plate including a Lingot Triple Cream Brie and Taleggio. The Affogato and Salted Caramel Parfaits were both extremely well received and rated 4. The cheeses were just what you would expect and rated 3.5. Unfortunately, the Panna Cotta hadn’t set and was still liquid. Recognising this, the server informed the kitchen and these were removed from the bill.
Overall, our experience at Cinco Bistro was quite enjoyable. We also appreciated that in addition to a full bar and extensive wine list, they are BYO and charge a very reasonable corkage. I look forward to returning to Cinco Bistro and give it a hearty recommendation.
I have been here a number of times and it is always good, hits the mark every time. Great quality food, clean classy decor, nice wine selection. We had the 3 course lunch special last visit and it was spot on.
Arranged the New Year Eve dinner at this one hatted restauarant. Since it is the only one-hatted at this side of the town, my expectation was set slightly high. It was a busy night and there were only three wait-staffs running the show. We were told by the manger that some of the staffs rang up to take sick leave in the afternoon.... however, they did manage to offer fine service and it was much appreciated. Well, food was another story. First of all, we were let down because they stop serving any quail as the entree so we ordered the Charcyuterie board to share, which was average. The Wagyu Rump was slightly overcooked on some portion but the Portobello Mushroom deserved thumb up. Hero should be the Lamb rack which was done perfectly. Side dish of the roasted cumin pumpkin was delicious. The serious let down should be the desserts of Apple Tart and Greek custard. We did not have the feeling of enjoying the dessert. One comment is that they should be careful on chosing Tea leaves since the Lemongrass & Ginger was bland. As an one-hatted restaurant, Cinco sounds weaker than the others in town, say Deer Duck Bistro (Milton), Public (CBD) or Thomas Reserve (Spring Hill). These restaurants did showcase why they are one-hatted with fine dining standard meals and nice drink menu. I think the chefs should pay attention to the dish plating technique and overall Cinco needs time to be more mature.....
Delicious! Very attentive service; our water was never sitting low. The food was delicious and presentation was beautiful. However, I was seated next to the steps and every time someone accessed the steps, I could feel compression in the floorboards. No major dramas but it became a slight distraction during dinner.
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.

I read in the Good Food Guide that Cinco Bistro was awarded a Hat this year so I have been wanting to check it out for awhile. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem so far out from the city too. The food was not too bad and the service was ok. A little expensive though. The venue itself is quite plain, nothing fancy. It was definitely not what I was expecting when compared to other hatted restaurants in Brisbane but still worth a try if you've never been.
Cinco is definitely a little hidden suburban gem. Service is, and always has been, absolutely fabulous.
Food is a bit hit and miss depending on what you order. The arancini balls, risotto, and duck tart were hits, not so keen on the new quail. Loved the fish and steak, but the pork belly was just average. Would order the panna cotta and almond mousse, but the chocolate marquise was very thick with not enough ice cream to balance it out.
First visit to Cinco and the pork belly was melt in your mouth perfection! The staff were perfection, even helped with my 2 yr old. I can't review anything bad. Everything from the sides to the main was divine.
What a gem of a restaurant! Great inventive classy dishes. Cape grim steak was magnificent, and the signature foie gras tartlet is superb. Great vibe good service and byo as well. How can you go wrong. Ill be back often.

We dine at Cinco every few months. The food is fantastic. Each dish is carefully thought through, and the flavour combinations always just work. Definitely recommend for those occasions where you want to avoid the city restaurants and enjoy a local experience.
Premier dining in the suburbs! Top quality food in a setting that from the outside you'd normally drive by without a glance. A little expensive which is why I didn't rate a 5.0 but you get what you pay for, no question. Parking's a bit tricky so get there early is my advice.
Beautiful decor and the night we went it was quite popular.
We had breakfast here one Sunday & were able to sit outside with the pooch in tow! Interesting breakfast menu, but they didn't have the very item I wanted -the egg curry dish. So that was a disappointment for me. Ended up having the house beans which were very tasty other than the fact I forgot to request chilli on the side. Coffee was a let down too they attempted to make it three times for me so give them credit for effort! Third cup I could actually taste the coffee, but it was still rather a wishy washy brew. Service was very good & they went out of their way to be helpful for us
Best wood fired pizza in years and REAL garlic bread! Had the portofino which is prawns with garlic, chilli and rocket. Absolutely amazing flavour and ready for pick up in just 10 mins!
I don’t usually write breakfast reviews in Brisbane as I seem to find lunch and dinner at restaurants way more interesting than the breakfasts that are served at many venues across town. However, I want to tell you about the breakfast menu that Cinco Bistro serves on Saturday and Sunday. For many years Cinco has become well known for its elegant bistro food but over the last year it began serving breakfast that I believe is worthy of equal acknowledgement and acclaim as their dinner service. Mum and I agree that it is hard to beat the breakfast variety at Cinco. The great thing about Cinco’s breakfast menu is that you eat from around the world travelling to Mexico, India, South and North America and Asia. And each time you come back, you find yourself ordering something new and exciting due to a menu that is ever changing. We first visited just after they started and I had an amazing chicken chilaquiles with a perfect fried egg on top while Mum had baked eggs with chorizo, potato, piquillo peppers, Mahon cheese and almonds. Both dishes were outstanding and we couldn’t wait to come back for more! As Cinco is just around the corner from where I live we returned very soon. This time I tried the chimichanga, which is savoury mince wrapped in a tortilla, which is then deep-fried. On top rested a perfectly cooked poached egg with hollandaise sauce. A crispy kale leaf crowned the dish and a dollop of guacamole and chopped up tomato lay to the side of the plate. After trying this dish I declared it my all-time favourite breakfast! Mum ordered an Indian lentil curry with chutney and roti, which was perfect for the cold morning weather. On another occasion I tried the New Delhi Egg Curry – a recipe that the Owner-Chef Peter Stubbs had recently brought back from India. It was served with some crispy roti bread perfect for mopping up the perfectly balanced sauce. Mum tried the duck omelette with a drizzle of hoisin sauce and enjoyed the classic combination. As I loved the chimi
Wow wow, best food in a while, and I eat out a lot, exceptional food, service and experience 11/10
So impressed, will return many times
Fantastic breakfast!. Hidden gem for breakfast, great variety on menu and very reasonably priced. Excellent coffee. Great service, highly recommend.
Great dinner. The duck was fantastic. Corkage is too expensive, otherwise fantastic.
We went back for breakfast the following weekend and that was really good and very reasonable priced.
I would highly recommend.
Good food, and friendly and professional service. Food is reasonably priced, didn't bring wine so can't comment on the corkage costs. A few by the glass options available, was happy with my Shiraz. My duck was perfectly cooked and peanut butter mousse for dessert was delicious.
Never fails to disappoint. Been here about 20 times and love it each and every time!
Superb. I have dined at Cinco a few times and it's consistently the same - Amazing! This is by far the best restaurant in Brisbane. What an absolute gem. Worth traveling a bit out of the city to dine here. Truly world class
Fantastic food and services....only exception to the great night was the exorbitant corkage!!! 8.50 per person means I won't be coming back with the family $68 corkage in suburban Brisbane. Unacceptable
I have dined out in quite a few places in Brisbane and they never seems to hit the mark in all areas good food good service and good atmosphere. This one does. We has there desert sampler and it was yummy. Good service that are tentative but don't try to be your mates and ambience is crisp and clean. Highly recommended
Cinco is awesome. Went on Saturday night for a special dinner. The restaurant was going off. It was full and buzzing. The food as always was excellent. We had a tiny hiccup with our younger waitress but the older waiter saw me looking around and swooped in straight away to get us sorted. We have been coming here for special family dinners for years and it has never let us down. Bravo Cinco.
Stunning food & presentation. A great Saturday night, went with another couple to their favorite restaurant. We learned it was a hat restaurant so I was keen to try it out!
We had Spanish dish as starter with tangy dipping sauce....yumm
Then steak for main that was crusted with pepper...ahh it was beautiful, moist and just melted in my mouth. The steak fries were a hit with the table. Dessert we nibbled on small tiny dessert pieces that were lovely and presented well with cheese platter of variety of cheeses. The place has a friendly vibe with great service on all points.
Very good service, a French onion soup that challenges any I have had in France, Beef cheeks were amazing! Will definitely be coming back. See you soon.
Lovely food Lovely staff Lovely setting Just Lovely!
Food- pretty good- but so it should be as it is all quite expensive. Interesting menu options, well cooked and presented, very enjoyable, across the table we covered a range of meats and dishes- all were thoroughly enjoyed. Desert yes- a great way to finish the evening- soufflé was a real souffle! All our deserts had the oooooh factor.
Service- total let down. $8.50 corkage- crazy.
Head there for a tasty meal if you have money to burn and you are not to fussy about service.
Went here on Saturday night for an impromptu date with the hubby. It was amazing! Service was attentive, food was beautiful and it was fairly reasonable for three courses and drinks. Will definitely be back, thanks fire a great night Cinco!
Fallen in love with food again. Coconut Battered Snapper & Scallop Salad, Peanut and Chilli Caramel was the best ever salad i have had in my life. Had a great time with a friend - we both had ever been before. Wait Staff was great !
Delicious. Who said you couldn't find a great, fancy restaurant in the suburbs? I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff and the place has a great feel to it with split level dining and a view straight into the kitchen.
The food was top quality and if you're visiting Cinco I would definitely recommend the Barramundi for main!
Where ever you live in Brisbane drive to the South/East side to visit this chaming bistro - you won't regret it!. This little bistro is a little out of the way depending where you live of course... BUT it is well worth the trip... the food is fabulous! Service is warm and friendly and the menu is excellent. No wonder this little gem is still going strong after all these years! Keep up the good work Cinco! Love it!
*CINCO BISTRO IS BYO* And also a suburban Gem. We are always so impressed by their decor/ambience, and of course the delicious food made by the fantastic chef here. Dessert is sublime (a must!) and while the wait staff are always quite busy, we have been happy with our service and wait times. Would definitely return to Cinco - next time with a BYO bottle of bubbles as their Sparkling Wine selection is basically non-existent. You will be hard pressed finding anywhere online that spruikes this place is BYO, but it definitely is :)
Lovely food, waiter very understanding and they were very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.
Great food, great service. Been very happy with the food whenever we've dined there.
Ahhh maaz Ing!!! Can't believe this restaurant is in Brisbane. What a gem. Incredible food. Friendly staff. 100% professional. A I can say is WOW!
Solid, but not great. Solid food and service. However, the waitress did struggle a bit with gluten free, thinking something that had pastry in it was 'probably gluten free' until we pointed out it probably wasn't. Desserts weren't that impressive though. Was just happy enough to pay the money I did for it, I wouldn't rush back though personally.
Great restaurant, we have been here 4 times and the food Is spot on every time. Not cheap for a restaurant in the suburbs, but the atmosphere and BYO make it worth it.
Great food! Perfectly cooked duck. Pity the waitress was rude.
All good. Confit duck & beef cheeks are a winner. Service prompt & friendly and atmosphere great.
One of the favourites. I love this place. Consistently superb quality food, great service, elegant decor and best of all it's BYO. If you're contemplating Cinco, contemplate no more.
Great food, service and location. After having driven past this restuarant for years I finally had the opportunity to go for dinner with friends. What a find in suburbia from the decor through to the service and menu. There were four of us at dinner and for entree we had prawns x 2; french onion soup (Special) and mushrooms. All delivered in timely manner and cooked to perfection. Mains - 3 x Angus Beef and 1 x Duck Confit. Once again, no complaints and plates left clean. Would thoroughly recommend a dinner date for two or a larger group but definitely book. Added bonus - BYO. Yipee!!
This place is right up there, one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. I was there first time on a Sat night, it was packed but still good service. The food is excellent and creative. For entree try the Seared Scallops or Foie Gras Tartlett, both were cooked perfectly. We had the duck and the very unusual Rabbit and Snail Paella for mains, simply outstanding, taste and presentation. I know they've been around for a while, but I just didn't expect something that good in Camp Hill. I guess I have to eat humble pie for this rather arrogant attitude.
Good food. Great polite service, awesome food, very creative. expensive but get what you pay for. would come again for a special occasion
Top Notch. Burbs are alive and kicking, great food, lovely setting. The menu is solid and worth checking out. Hard to fault any of my options.
Great work guys.
Still a local favourite. We went along with another couple last weekend. The new decore was nice, but a little boring. We will have to try out the bar seating for a pizza next time. The food remains excellent, I am never disappointed. The staff were a little run off their feet but it didn't affect us too much. We were happy to sit over another bottle of wine and wait. A local favourite.
Highly surprised. Paints a new picture for the burbs. It's now in my top 5 In brisbane.
Great food. Had a really fantastic meal here on the weekend. the aged steak was fantastic and the creme brulee too. i've had much better french onion soup (entree) but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. a nice change from cbd restaurants too...
We had the opportunity late last year to trial dinner at at Cinco on Cleveland Road, Camp Hill with some very special friends who were visiting. It may be in the midst of suburbia but this restaurant can hold it's own against the city restaurants. We were not unhappy!
This was a massive plate of food with a generous amount of duck and was delicious. The confit duck leg was cooked perfectly and the meat just fell off the bone. The flavour of the duck was intense and was matched perfectly by the sweetness of the roasted figs. Surprisingly there were a couple of strips of pan fried duck breast as well, which was a bonus! The salad that came with the duck was refreshing and again was perfectly balanced with the richness of the duck flesh.
Great food, lovely service & excellent wine list
The food at this suburban bistro is lovely and the wine list is really impressive. The staff are attentive but I thought it was a little pricey.
Just recently celebrated a wedding anniversary with a beautiful dinner at this restaurant. Staff are friendly, attentive and communicate extremely well. The menu is small but there's something to suit everyone. The food is obviously prepared with passion and tastes as good as it looks. Add this one to your list you won't be disappointed.
Fine dinning … absolutely delicious meals, worth the money spent. Excellent service Very friendly, courteous staff. Would definitely recommend 👍🏼
Cinco is still one of our go-to favourite places - especially when we want a fancy for-the-heck-of-it meal. Service is terrific and the meals are generous and beautifully balanced using the best ingredients. And they're super friendly and are loved locals
Amazing service, food is out of this world, every item on the menu is sensational. Every time we go there it's wonderful. Consistently. Prices are very reasonable too. Love this place - for a night away from dishes or a fancy night out- it won't disappoint.
One of my favourite Brisbane restaurants. The food is always amazing and the staff are lovely. The steak is always perfectly cooked and accompanied, and the apple tart is easily the best dessert on the menu.
Love this place! Please go, you won't regret. Food is always perfect. Only once was an hour wait for food but all other times they've been good with timing and red wine selection is nice.
On of the best meals I've had in Brisbane. A lovely little bistro in camp Hill, unassuming but has a great vibe and excellent staff. Will be making this spot a regular.
The food and winelost were outstanding
