Reviews Chit Chat - Bite & Beer

My partner and I came here for a Saturday lunch - we had a very enjoyable meal!  It's a quiet little cafe with alfresco dining on Edmondstone Street.  The menu is a nice mix of typical cafe staples with a few asian and asian fusion dishes.  The pan fried dumplings were tasty.  The Peking Duck sandwich was nicely served in a crispy foccacia bread with yummy beer-battered chips (quality chips!).  The curry was an East-asian style curry with good sauce and crunchy chicken cutlets.  Even the ice  tea was home made and tasted great.
Because it's about 50m away from Melbourne Street, it's got a quiet ambiance and was also very pleasant and cool - very nice on a summer's day.  They have a liquor licence as well with some beers on tap.
Altogether very pleasant, would definitely go back!

Very happy with this little cafe. They serve a good mix of regular cafe food (cooked breakfasts, schniztels and so on) and some fun asian fusion dishes (Peking duck sandwich). Good ambiance, under cover but open air on a nice peaceful street. Very happy

Friendly staff, excellent lunch and bubble tea! Go here pretty often for lunch and they make really delicious and hearty beef casserole and chicken casserole with rice dishes. They also serve great sandwiches, fish and chips as well as Taiwanese egg rolls which is rare to find in West End!

If i can say one thing about Chit Chat is that it's "I'll be back for more". The 4 of us were no strangers to Asian cuisine so when we ordered the chicken wings, gyoza, duck sandwiches, and beef (& chicken) curry, we knew what to expect. However, we weren't expecting how flavoursome the dishes that came out were going to be. They came out quickly and this didn't deminish the flavours. On the contrary, they were sensational. The wings were large and crispy, gyoza delicate, duck sweet and saucy, and the curry was a great finisher. I need to go back and try more. PLUS they serve coffee and breaky PLUS cocktails and beer. 10/10, 5 stars, return visits a must.
