Review The Little Persian Cafe - Brisbane

The food was great but I was disappointed how the dish came out when served as compared to the photos on the menu— the sauce was missing, the salad was just spinach and dressing and clearly not what I expected. Reasonable price but would have been fair if I had been served what I had paid for. The old lady serving was lovely, the place could use some tidying up.

Went here on Saturday morning for breakfast and the staff were so friendly. They offered myself and my partner a copy of the newspaper to read while we waited for our fresh meals which were delicious. All in all it was a fantastic and personable experience

Went for breakfast. What was wrong - the service, the coffee, the price and the cleanliness of the tables. The food was ok but not for what we were charged. Flies were everywhere, which was understandable as the tables were cleared but not wiped clean. The young lady at the counter who took our order clearly did not want to be there - and it showed with the poorly made coffee and her lack of attention in clearing the tables. There was a woman working in the kitchen who came out to clear the tables and re-arrange chairs around the tables after cooking the meals.

We visited this lovely cafe for Sunday lunch yesterday. The lady running it was so polite & friendly. The food came out quickly & was delicious & amazing. The Turkish delight was out of this world - so perfect! Thanks so much for your excellent efforts with service & food / coffee making Little Persian Cafe :-)

Fantastic traditional Persian cuisine! A little expensive but the taste is delicious. Really great menu with all the classic Persian dishes, as well as some old favourites reimagined. Would recommend to anyone in the area to give it a go!

This place has soul. Highly recommend the rosewater tea, just lovely.

Hidden treasures of Brisbane. The place is small but has a magical touch to it. Presentation, staff and everything about the place is 10/10. Even though I only had traditional Persian tea and dessert, I will definitely be coming back to try some mains. I only wish we had more places like this to discover in Brisbane. Very unique.

Ordered from here on Menulog tonight. For a $28 stew you'd expect something much much better...the amount of oil, oh my! How dare they charge that kind of money! The servings was dismal to say the least and flavors were lacking.... First and LAST time we will be ordering from here. Horrid. Bland and expensive for what you get.

Only came here cuz the Japanese place next door was full. Ordered the eggplant dip, which came in a little bowl with four squares of bread for $12.90. Definitely on the smaller side, but reasonably tasty. We also got the mixed grill with an extra lamb skewer. Service was slow as there was only one person serving/cooking, but pleasant. Food finally comes, & we got an extra lamb & beef mince skewer rather than lamb pieces. Wasn't very happy about that, but the actual lamb pieces tasted a bit old/off anyway, so lucky there was only one skewer as opposed to two. The meats were cooked well but not marinated long enough & lacked flavour. On the plus side, the rice was fluffy & had that lovely fatty buttery/ghee flavour (but it's rice, come on).

Anyway, we went to pay & we're told it's cash only now (which is fine but wish she told us prior, especially during this time when card payments are encouraged & contact free is preferred. I usually pay with my phone so don't even bother bringing my card, & would make getting cash out a little bit difficult). We saw that Zomato gold is offering 15% off & we tried to pay through that (pay through the app & they get paid by zomato) since they had no EFTPOS facilities, but apparently they're not affiliated anymore & don't offer that? 🙄

We were pretty excited to find this place as we've recently moved interstate & were hoping to have a regular grilled meats place that we frequented back home in Melbs. Kinda disappointed & won't be back unfortunately. Just mediocre.

This is a really interesting little place that serves up unexpectedly decent dishes.
The proprietors are very hands on and keen to please.
You cannot go wrong with whatever is recommended. Be adventurous.

This place had a homely feel like you were eating dinner with family. There were fresh flowers on the table. Service was quick. I found the price reasonable. We loved all the food we ordered. Would definitely come back again for dinner.

Nice persian food seems to be a healthier version of typical Persian food chicken breast on zersk polo etc, kebab on the dry side and overall pricey

Always a good experience there, food is delightful, affordable, meals are very generous. Service is good, attention to detail. Unpretentious little gem on Racecourse road, always a win for a quiet evening, catch up with friends & kids for lunch or brunch. Owners are lovely and put a lot of effort in their work. It worth being tried and is much better value over many trendy eateries in the area.

What a fantastic lunch. I had a vegetarian wrap and was not disappointed. Both the service and food were lovely and the cafe was quiet so no long wait and no noisy neighbours. I’ll be back!

Visiting Brissie, saw this place as we were getting off the bus from the city. Looked quaint and inviting, oh how we were deceived.

The service: just awful. The owners Mum was filling in. First up we shared a entree of mirza chasemi (char grilled eggplant/tomato and onion). 5 (?) dry slivers of lebanese bread for 2 people. No side plates and no serviettes. We had to keep asking for things showing a lack of attention to detail. For the mains I ordered 2 x chenjeh (lamb kebabs) and got 1 chenjen and 1 koobideh (mince kebab). WTF? When I asked she said she thought that's what I asked for. No I did not. A half hearted apology but no offer to fix. Then we had to ask for water. She was obviously eager to close up and get home because she started to pack up chairs and tables and making a lot of noise while we were half way through our meal.

The food: very ordinary. The eggplant dip was tasty but very sloppy. The chenjeh was good but let down by the tasteless rice and anemic attempt at salad. The koobideh was dry and tasteless, wished I had of got what I ordered.

Overall: I wouldn't come back here and I couldn't recommend it to anyone but my ex-wife.

The service was the best I've ever had and the ambience was just so relieving. The food was a big factor for me and it blew my mind, every meal kept getting better and better. The baklava especially was amazing and they allowed me to take a picture :) overall amazing experience and 100% worth a visit

I'm absolutely amazed by the quality of their food. The staff were so welcoming, the place looks so aesthetically pleasing and the food exceeded my expectations immensely. I honestly never review places like this but the little Persian cafe is just honestly so good

Had breakfast here as we had been trying for weeks, but it had not been open at the weekend early up until now. So we actually booked a table to be sure. First up the coffee was good, bold & rich & reminded me of Turkish coffee, however it was a local Montville roast & we had double shots. We were hoping for a Persian breakfast, but on the menu there wasn't a lot of authentic fare. I noticed on the blackboard a Persian omelette so went for that. It was a little dry & as Manu would say needs sauce. However in this instance I would have expected at least a hummus type dip or a salsa for my Persian bread which came with the omelette. Service was very nice & they seem to be a family. The sweets which were offered outside on a plate were delicious

My favourite Persian restaurant in brisbane. The food tests like my mum's cooking 👌🏼✅ the service is a bit slow, but it is worth the wait 🤗 don't go there if you're in rush! Make sure you try "ADDAS POLO (GF) (V)" you may ask them to add saffron chicken 🍗 😍
This is the one which is realy recommended for Persian food lover.

I'm going to echo the greater bulk of reviews so far by saying this eatery is overpriced and understaffed. Neither the quality nor quantity of the food justified the prices charged. One has to wonder what this level of price gouging is covering given the minimal, obviously family based staff. If you're up for it, maybe go for the cafe and some of the smaller items - the rest can be disregarded until they rethink their business model.

The food is good, I've been here twice and I enjoyed it. However, there is only 1 person making coffees, breakfast and taking orders.
It would be better and quicker if they have more staff.

I had the Gormeh Sabzi and it was great. Lovely owners and though the place is small, its a nice set up. Will be back to try more of the menu
The Food Oracle
This is an adorable cafe that also does meals, located on Racecourse Road. It is owned and operated by a friendly Persian couple. Service might be a little slow but the cafe is pleasant to wait in.

Persian food is probably something that one has to grow an understanding of. I didn't understand it at first but B is half Persian, so I was forced to persist. Now I understand the flavours, the use of herbs, yogurt, pickled veg, and of course, the limo amani.

I had the gormeh sahbzi and it was very good. It came with a heap of perfectly cooked basmati and a little side salad. The flavour of the stew was spot on with soft pieces of lamb. B had the same and said it was very authentic. Our other friend had the joojeh kebab, she said it was excellent and tasted like the chicken had been basted in butter (mmm mmmmmmm). It also came with basmati, a small yoghurt, roast tomato, and a little salad. She said the chicken breast (unusual, usually thigh meat) was very juicy and tender.
We also had a yoghurt dip with bread, it was okay, a bit runny. The bread was not very nice and did not get eaten.
We were continually supplied with cold water throughout the meal.

I do agree with other posters that the meals are a bit expensive for what you get. The meal should have a nicer bigger salad, with fresh herbs and raw white onion with the kebab.

I'd go back for the stews, although a little overpriced, very home style authentic. But the kebab looked a touch unimpressive.

Very cute and cosy place. I would suggest to try Ghormeh sabzi. Persian tea was the best and was served in these cute cups. Customer service was great. Very friendly staff.

I'm so happy that I've found this place. The foods taste exactly like my mum's cooking (I'm Persian) specialty zereshk-polo, adas-polo and Fesenjan. The service is a bit slow but its worth waiting

Service was slow and inattentive. They took 10 minutes to take our order and when they did got it wrong. The food is overpriced and the servings were much too small ($21 for 100gm of chicken, rice and lettuce)
That being said the flavours were good and the food was unique.
Foodie
Good quality ingredients and large serves. The lamb was delicious. My suggestion would be 25% smaller serves and 25% off the price. If it was less expensive they would get a bigger turnover of customers.

We had cookoo, chicken kebab and lamb kebab and we all loved it! The kids remarked how fresh and tasty the salads were, and my youngest wanted seconds, which only happens with his favourite foods. Well done for such a lovely meal in record time
