Tasty food, a bit oily though. Reasonably priced

Initially I was a bit apprehensive about riding from here, as there has been some disappointing reviews. However, I found the food absolutely delicious and full of flavour. Would recommend.

Stopped dining there for ages due to the indifferent and unhelpful service, but still ordered takeaway sometimes. From the recent reviews, seemingly the service had been improved. Their curries were one of the nicest we had had in Brisbane, and the complementary turmeric rice was the best ever.

Excellent food, great service, fast delivery.  Simply the best Butter Chicken and Korma I have ever had.  The restaurant is well presented, and staff very friendly.

We got Uber eats from the Taj on the recommendation of our friends (whose house we were at). The meal came pretty quickly which is good for a Friday night. I am impressed by how warm the food stays in those insulated bags. We ordered a few curries and naan breads all v delicious and generous serving. The stand out was the lamb curry in spinach - we got mild (for the kids) but even so the spices were very tasty. Meat was very tender. Only wish we lived closer to the Taj so we could get it at our place as it seemed a lot better then our local Indian restaurants.

The best Indian cuisine I have eaten in my life. They have been consistently amazing for the last 20 years I have been going there. Taj has surpassed and ruined every Indian meal I have eaten elsewhere. Nothing is better in the greater Brisbane area.

I honestly love this restaurant. It would probably have the best Indian food in Brisbane. Service is okay but I still eat there and give feedback to them and tell them about there service.😊

I only eat korma from Indian places but this is by far the best korma I've found and that's why I'm giving it 4 points... I don't like their meat as it's fatty, so I chose vegetarian only. Cute decor too :)

6/10. The curries here are fantastic! The naan could either be a little bigger or cheaper as I feel it's overpriced but still tasty. What let's this place down is the lack of atmosphere and service. The waitresses hardly talk to you, just walk you over to a table and throw some menus in front of you. Also, the restaurant could do with a makeover. We were seated at the table right next to the storage space you could see into even though the majority of tables were free.

Best Indian In Brisbane!. Well I can safely say Taj Bengal has the best Indian in Brisbane by far.
The worst thing is it has ruined Indian at every other Indian place I have eaten.
I just cannot find an Indian place in Brisbane that matches or exceeds the quality and taste.

Best Indian I've had - very authentic. Whole extended family have been fans for years, and now I've moved to Brisbane, I make a point of frequenting whenever I am up for Indian. A little expensive for me (as a student) but definitely worth it.

Best Indian ever - the chicken madras is out of this world. Don't go here for fine dining or superb service - go here for the food!

I've always liked Taj Bengal. I find that dining in isn't as enjoyable as take away but the food is always good. I much prefer this restaurant over places like Miss India.

Almost the best indian in Brisbane. My research has been long and exhausting but on the Northside this is as good as a curry gets. If you venture southside there is one that is the fairest of them all...

From the UK, lived in London. Spent 15yrs in Brisbane trying to find something that came close to the'real thing'.Well call off the search you've found it. Good curries across the the whole menu, good portion size. Highly. recommend.

Best Indian in Brisbane?. Taj Bengal is without doubt one of the best Indian Takeaway restaurants I have had the great pleasure in being a patron of. Through eight or more years of ordering curries from Taj Bengal I have yet to experience a meal that I would describe as anything less than supremely satisfying. As cliched as it sounds, the Butter Chicken is orgasmic, the Lamb Korma, phenomenal and even the naan bread, especially the galic, are excellent. I could waft on and on and on into a hyperbolic delirium but what I will do is recommend you try Taj Bengal at the nearest convenience for one of the most sublime Indian curries you will ever try. Oh, and dont forget some of the house lime pickle, which is also incredible.

Anyone looking for a replacement for Haveli in Ashgrove - this is it! (As in, the actual same place). Haveli at Ashgrove used to be my regular go-to for Indian takeaway, so when I found it empty and darkened one Friday night when the cravings hit, I was at a loss for what to do. I frantically dug the Taj Bengal menu out of the recycling bin (where I had put it thinking I needed no other Indian takeaway in my life) and called them, praying their food would be as good. To my immense surprise, it was exactly the same! I concluded that the Haveli chefs had upped stumps and relocated without telling anyone (although why I could not imagine, since surely I would be only one of scores of dedicated fans mourning Haveli's disappearance). So this review encompasses food I have eaten from both Taj Bengal and Haveli.

I have only ever eaten takeaway curries and breads from here, and have never dined in. The takeaway servings are very generous - the containers (standard rectangle takeaway size) are full to bursting and are served with an equally full container of complimentary saffron rice, which is wonderfully fragrant and delicious all on its own. One curry & rice is more than enough for two meals for me. Considering this, it is very well priced, from $13.90 for vegetarian dishes to $17.50 for seafood dishes, and from $4.20-4.90 for breads.

I have never been disappointed in any of their food - the curries are always flavoursome and the naan always freshly cooked. And of course the leftovers always taste better the next day! I don't know how 'traditional' it truly is, having never been to India, but they seem to have fairly traditional menu options, rather than just any curry with 'your choice of meat' like some places do. Their online menu also advertises that all curries are prepared individually (rather than just adding 'your choice' of cooked meat to a pre-prepared sauce).

The only thing is that their chilli levels can be a little variable - 'medium' spice can range from barely-there to blow-your-head-off, so it might pay to be prepared with some chilli flakes or raita as appropriate.

So if you're looking for some tasty Indian takeaway, look no further.

So very good! Great service and excellent prices. Use an Indian definition of spicy not a western one, so err on the mild to medium side!

Unbelievably good food!! As the offspring of indian parents, I'm very critical of indian restautants. Taj Bengal is perhaps the best Indian restaurant in Brisbane. We ordered Lamb Biriani, Dahl Veg, Beef Saag and Chicken Tikka Maasala. All dishes had a rich flavour. From the training my mum gave me in indian cookery; the chefs at Taj Bengal use fresh ingredients with good meat and should be proud of the high quality dishes they serve. Serving sizes are great for the price. The restaurant has modest fittings and I'm glad they've focussed more on the food as I felt very "at home". Overall, I rate this restaurant an A and will be bringing back friends. What a gem!!

Mixed entree, palak pander (medium), beef vindaloo (hot), kashmiri naan, garlic naan = the best Friday night dinners! With a bottle of gutsy red wine of course. The best Indian in town.

The best Curry around!. Possibly one of the best curries in the area. Service can be slow but it is worth the wait. Good range of choices and large serves also! Go try.

Have ordered a few times now and the food has been consistently great. Definitely a contender for best Indian in Brisbane. Portions a huge too - A single curry and a couple of sides does dinner as well as lunch the next day for my partner & me.

I went there for my 50th birthday with 25 people. The service was incredible, the food was, as usual, impeccable. My wife introduced it to me over 15 years ago and it's still a favourite..

Took 4 young boys ages 7-10 for dinner, they loved the food the service was quick plenty of food and very tasty. One of the boys is a fussy eater but he loved the butter chicken. Will definitely be back.

Ordered via Doordash based in star rating. Had the Butter chicken and Naan.. the curry was watery, not creamy as one would expect with butter chicken. The meat was cooked well and the Naan had a nice char and chew.. these factors saved the dish but I didn't go for seconds. Fills the craving but definitely wasn't wow'd.
