Very disappointed. Ordered a burger and a salmon meal. The bread was old. The fish tasted off. Salad looks like it's been in fridge for days. Definitely won't be going back again. The guy was also rude on the phone.

Great Fish n chips after bball practice with the kidlets...enjoyed at the park, so tasty, fish was fluffy and fresh. Will definitely go back for another batch. Excellent customer service with a friendly smile.

This fish and chips shop doesn't look like much but I had a wonderful meal. You can select your fish and how you like it cooked. The menu also includes burgers and steak rolls. I ordered the sea perch battered and it came without any grease and was fresh and delicious. This place is busy so patience is needed at times.

Took the wife there to get Gluten free fish and chips. Yes they do gluten free battered fish. The wife loved it. My fish and chips was very good as well

Very good quality fish and chips! I’m sure that if you come here you won’t be disappointed with the food quality. The fish and chip pack for two is an excellent size without being ridiculous. Certainly one of the better fish and chips places in Brisbane. 4 stars because the customer service can be awkward at times but it shouldn't put you off.

Good value for money, went for dinner with a group of 7 friends, owner is amazing, friendly & accommodative. Plates & silver cutlery available for dining on premises, outdoor seating only, mostly carpark seating, limited covered seating, great ambience. Wonderful crumbed option, fish cut into pieces to allow extra crumbing 👌. Dishes with salad have very good portions of salad. Chips weren't impressive. Table water available. Condiments are extra $. Parking: is limited on site.

Amazing Halal Seafood for Iftari and Sehri. Very tasty ,affordable food and generous serving sizes. The lady at the front was very helpful and pleasant with excellent customer service.

I was really upset tonight - I was at this restaurant to pick up my regular order when I witnessed the owner /boss of the place yelling, swearing and abusing his young employees.  It was really sad to watch an older man abusing young staff who were obviously trying their hardest to please him on a very busy night.  Made me feel sick and am very disappointed to know in our lovely  local area of Coorparoo their are people treating young impressionable people like this :(

Blue Ocean is always excellent. However tonight I got a take away that was less than up to standard. The fish burger tasteless and the potato scallops cold and cooked in old fat that left an awful aftertaste. Disappointing<br/>

Hard 3 soft 4<br/><br/>Great friendly service, big serving size. I got one of their packs and comfortably fed two adults.<br/><br/>The fish was plentiful and well seasoned. However the potato scallops were a little greasey. Would definitely revisit for another meal.

Cheerful, quick service. Last week our take away was left on the counter waiting for us. Was a bit cold when opened.  The batter was crispy, but a bit too greasy to eat.  Not sure the fish was the one ordered. Was taken aback that 4 dark men could make a living working in a small suburban 'greasy spoon'. I did not put money in the Muslim begging tin/'bowl', that had the name of 4 mosques on the label. I wonder where the money actually goes. No, we won't be back.

Incredibly annoyed at this fish and chips restaurant. Ordered $4 worth of chips and this is what I got. Absolutely pathetic. Service very rude and would not recommend to anyone.

I believe Blue Ocean Seafood is one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to. I went for the first time a few weeks ago and have since been back multiple times and am now taking my family there tomorrow! The service is amazingly quick given how many people were ordering and the food was out in less than 15 minutes. Not only is the food clearly fresh and perfectly cooked, I think the prices are really reasonable given the size and quality of what you get. Would definitely recommend the chilli squid/calamari - never had anything like it before, absolutely delicious. Will be back for more food very soon!

Ordered barramundi dinner pack. Was meant to come with tartare and a salad. Never received those. So paid $7 extra for a handful.of chips. $17 for what is pictured.

Superb fish and chips in assuming location. Super fresh fish, melt in mouth calamari, crispy chips, lovely salad. We all loved it and it almost seemed healthy! Great service too.

Great food, timely service, fresh, never had a complain in last three years, best burgers for money in town. I'd recommend the chicken and fish burger.

My family and I often go to Blue Ocean for lunch on a Sunday. The service is great and the food is lovely, the food is usually served within 15 minutes of ordering!! <br/>We normally get a serve of chips, calamari, crumbed fish and a side salad. My cousin got a steak burger (which was huuUUge!!) and we also got some potato scallops and a pineapple fritter. <br/>Really yummy menu and lovely staff, definitely would suggest this restaurant if you're looking for a quick (or not) and delicious lunch!!

This is by far one of the best seafood establishments in Brisbane. Beautiful fish - we usually get the crumbed goldband snapper, cod or whiting. We also venture down the path of buying grilled octopus which is sensational as well. Blue Ocean is always packed at night, particularly on weekends which is a testament to the popularity of the shop. Would strongly recommend Blue Ocean to any fish and chip enthusiast, it's brilliant food.

Our local "chippy", walking distance from home and our go to when we want fresh delicious fish and chips.<br/>Abdul and the team know all their regulars and make everyone feel welcome.<br/>Outside dining space is always clean and comfortable.<br/>Food cooked fresh to offs and of the best quality.<br/>Their grilled barramundi is insanely good and the chips!! Omg!!! I always eat too many!<br/>Accompanying salads and lots of other options - something to suit the whole family/ group.<br/>BYO if you wish.<br/>Fantastic - we're so lucky to have them in our neighbourhood.

Amazing. Everything about this place is amazing. Fish is fresh and well cooked. Steak burgers are mouth watering. Price us reasonable and atmosphere is wonderful for an "escape from the restaurant" type of feel. Wish more of the carpark could be used for dining.

Amazing food!!!. We have been to this place to get take away a few times now and each time it is nothing short of amazing! Today we tried the chicken burger and it is like no other chicken burger, but as everything else it was delicious. Highly recommend the place take all our friends there when they visit.

Very good. We tried this place last week and were very impressed. First, the service was amazing. Very friendly, polite and prompt. Great to see.<br/>Secondly, all the food was top notch. The portion size of the chips wasn't great but they were thick cut and very well cooked so I'll let them get away with it haha.<br/><br/>The calamari rings were so fresh as well. It was a very good first experience over all. I would recommend to people in that area.

Only just finished eating. I'm really impressed, everything was house battered the fish was light. The oil they cooked it in was clean everything was golden and crispy<br/><br/>It was really good.

I'm here with my boys every Monday night cause it's without doubt the best fish, chips and salad in Brisbane South. Always with a beaming smile and a memory for our names and order, the service that Abdul and his team provide is consistently friendly and polite. The wild caught barra family meal is our favourite!

Home. I feel like I belong here, if I needed somewhere to stay I feel like i would be safe to stay here. I want to retire next door at the retirement village so that I can eat it everyday. Words cannot explain my love for this place

Delicious and gluten free friendly. Really nice fish and chips and the gluten free batter is amazing. My boyfriend isn't even gluten free and he prefers it over the normal batter.<br/>Great service, friendly and just delicious.

Best fish & chip shop out! Always fresh & quality fish!

I wasn't impressed but my husband liked it. The potato scallops are 60% batter, so while crunchy on the outside they were only warm - not hot - on the inside, and tasted and consisted largely of flour. My burger patty was enormous. Seriously. There's drunken-post-massive-sporting-event-man-sized portions, then there's this. It was so big it was overwhelming to look at and I took half the bun and attached contents off just to find a way to eat it...and in the end it was cold before I could get near having my fill. I won't go back - not because of the burger (although I would rather be left wanting more than wasting hard grown produce) but because of the scallops. Batter shouldn't be considered a primary ingredient but that's exactly what we got when we ordered the potato scallops.

Great food at awesome prices! Definitely highly recommended. Always enjoy delicious scallops cooked to perfection.

Best fish and chips ever. I have been going to Blue Ocean for several years weekly, these are the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, the battered barramundi is to die for and I love the chilli squid. The food is consistent and very yummy. Lovely people, welcoming service, great place to chill out with great food and a bottle of wine!

What a shame! Rude owner who yelled at me over the phone!.. I love(d) the food at this place and ordered here every week. I always found the owner to be very rude and dismissive if I asked to pay by credit or paypass. He seemed annoyed that I usually made an order of only 3 fish and chips for my small family, especially if I ordered by phone. <br/>Today is the last day I will spend my money here after being yelled at over the phone. My husband went to pick up today and mentioned upon return that it was more expensive than normal. When I realised we'd been over charged I called straight away. The girl on the phone was apologetic, however, when the owner got on the phone he was defensive and aggressive, telling me I had definitely ordered 4, not 3, pieces of fish, as I do EVERY time. He then inferred I was being ridiculous for calling over $8.50 (just under half of what our meal SHOULD have cost) and when I told him for the third time that I did only order 3 pieces and was happy to return with the 4th that we did not want, he yelled at me about working on a public holiday and told me never to come back. The customer is DEFINITELY not right at this place. The rude, arrogant owner would not accept my version, and in the end, it was only $8.50, but I will definitely not return somewhere where the owner does not remember a regular face and say hi, grumbles about customers using credit with a signature, and refuses to believe that he made a mistake on a busy day in a loud cafe where I often have to repeat my order as the background noise is so loud.

Brilliant Place !. A group of us have been going here for 2 years now and just LOVE LOVE LOVE the place. Wonderful food...fish n seafood any way you like, great salads...and where else can you get a lovely tossed plate of vegies if want ? The burgers are just amazing !! Beer battered chips...yummm... The service is SO FRIENDLY AND HAPPY - just a delight ! I love my Wednesday Hump Day dinner and look forward to it each week...cheers to this wonderful venue and the super wonderful owner!

Totally love this place. It's about a 15min drive from my house but totally worth it. Also sometimes hard to get a carpark but also worth it. In my many time of visiting quality has always been top notch and tasty. <br/>Have never dine-in only take-away but still love. Service is welcoming and friendly, has a wide menu of fish, meals and burgers. Chips are the best!! <br/>Have introduced heaps of people to this place.

AMAZING food, not so great service.. Went here twice recently in the last couple of weeks - the first time it was getting a little late (about 9pm) so I called ahead to check if I could still order. The girl on the phone was so unbelievably rude and made me feel stupid for not knowing what was on the menu (I'd never been there before and was reading the menu photo on urbanspoon). Still, we'd read great things about the burgers so we got a hamburger combo with macon and cheese & a vege burger. We got to the store and went to pay and I figured it was the same girl who I spoke to on the phone was again rude, ignored the fact we were waiting to get our food & pay. It wasn't until who must be the owner saw the looks on mine and my partners face as we were waiting for our food, when we finally had this wonderful service so many others have posted about. He was absolutely lovely, talkative and made sure we had a copy of the new menu, and a bag to carry our food (which the girl had just dumped on the counter and expected us to carry). <br/>However, when we got home to eat the food - THE BEST BURGERS I have ever eaten, they were huge, and full of fresh salads and absolutely delicious.<br/><br/>The second time, the service wasn't great again (same girl) but better than the first time but once again the burgers were amazing!<br/><br/>Well worth the money (which is practically nothing) as long as you don't get the young girl who served me!

Best in Brisbane. The product is outstanding and the service totally friendly and professional - well worth the wait on a busy night. If ordering take-away I would suggest phoning through your order, but it's all good because they always give you an accurate estimate of when your food will be ready to pick up.<br/><br/>I am really fussy when it comes to fish & chips and this restaurant ticks ALL the boxes. TKD. Went to blue tonight. We live in New Farm and wished to take a relative who lived on South side to dinner and she preferred see food. I searched Urbanspoon .and choose BLUE OCEAN.<br/>What a great choice . The seafood was excellent. Service to table by the owner professional and made us feel most welcome. It appears takeaway the major business but the outside dining ,we had the best seafood entree I have had in a long time . I have eaten all over the world and will be going back shortly.

Grilled calamari was delicious tender non-greasy fish 'n' chips option. While my partner enjoyed the more usual crumbed fish affair! Will definitely return.

Great fish and chips! They offer an extensive menu with all of the regular fish and chip shop offerings and more. There is also a selection of reasonably priced fresh seafood. They also boast a very friendly staff.

Change of Ownership. You know that feeling, when you've finally found that perfect takeaway shop for lazy-night dinners? Well then you probably also know the pain when that mouth-watering convenience is snatched away from you. Serving sizes have shrunk tremendously, prices have risen and most importantly, and disappointingly, the fish is soggy. Yuck. And what a shame.

Excellent Value. Blue Ocean Seafood, Coorparoo is a restaurant with outstanding quality, portion sizes and price. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to have a seafood "fix". It is also next to a patisserie and restaurant if you want a coffee or desert after your meal.

Wow ... better than ever!. Long been a local favourite, amongst the best seafood going around ... recently sold and yet somehow the bar has been raised even higher. Superb food, fish always spot on - grilled to perfection, chips and salad also now somehow better than before. And service now (even more) friendly than before.

Best Steak Burgers In Brisbane. With the advent of the rise of the gourmet 'burger bar', its hard to find a good quality steak burger with that classic fish and chip shop charm and price. <br/>That where Blue Ocean Seafood come into the picture. THIS BURGER MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH !!!!!!!!!!!!<br/>The black angus steak is of such high quality that i feel almost guilty paying only $7 (thats right, $7 !!!!)<br/>for this delectable feast. Fresh salad ingredients and a light bun toasted to perfection rounds out this amazing burger. <br/>11/10 because they really do take the classic steak burger to the next level.

Normally you can pick two, Blue Ocean gave me all three.<br/> <br/>We ordered a steak burger each.. Best $7 i've spent in a while. The burger was delicious and fantastic to say the very least.. LOVE IT!!!. Have always been impressed with blue ocean seafood, however after the new owners have come, the food tastes even fresher and more tastier. I used to go about twice a month, but not you see me twice a week!! love the new atmosphere the new owners have created. To top it off, the lovely owners are so friendly and make it a blast each time I come.

Before the new owners, this place was great and full of life and the food was good quality and well above "fish and chip shop" standards. However... Ordered a meal tonight and it was no where near the standards held by the previous owners. The calamari was undercooked and tasted like flour. The fish portion has been halved!! And still full price. The new owners seriously need to get their act together in order to salvage the name of a once great affordable restaurant. So disappointing, won't be returning.

SEAFOOD HEAVEN!. Discovered this place the other day and was surprised by the prices for such great quality seafood! My partner and I ordered grilled barramundi, prawns, greek salad and potato scallops! The seafood was cooked to perfection and the potato scallops were the best I've ever had. What makes this seafood jewel even better were the lovely owners and friendly staff.

This used to be the best fish and chips in Brisbane, hands down. But new owners have taken over and the quality has gone. Don't bother. A real shame - now trying to find a place that is as good as this was in the old days.

I am staying in forestlake but to have awesome fish n chips i made a perfect choice by going to Blue Ocean Seafood . New management is great n execellent food n service , i would recommend you guys out there to give it a go and u wont be disappointed

We had the fishermans basket for 2. It was great I think it would feed 3 to 4 though there were over 6 pieces of fish not the large pieces but definitely a large meal! Would recommend. The cooking time was speedy and it was a Saturday night!

I'm addicted!. Blue Ocean seafood has always been a winner for me. Not just the food and prices, but mainly the owners and staff. They are always friendly, helpful and pleased to see me. <br/>I work a few suburbs away, but would drive past 10 different fish and chip shops to get lunch for myself and my staff on occasion.<br/><br/>I've heard they are selling and new owners are moving in... I wish the old owners all the best and hope the new ones can live up to the standards already set!

Tasty & affordable seafood. Love it. A great place for your Fish & Chips takeaway with very low prices. Would never dine in as eating area is out onto the carpark. Seafood packs are great value, and fish/calamari/prawns are always fresh, well cooked and tasty. Friday nights can be busy, so be prepared to wait some time for your order, but it is definitely well worth the wait.

Alright for the price. Went a week or so ago based on the reviews here and...we were impressed with the price (because it is quite cheap compared to a lot of other fish and chip shops) but the food could have been better. The stand out item was the potato scallops, it's been a long time since I've had ones this nice.

Great chips and potato scollaps. The fish was cooked to perfection. We had grilled salmon and battered snapper. We will be back.
