I believe Blue Ocean Seafood is one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to. I went for the first time a few weeks ago and have since been back multiple times and am now taking my family there tomorrow! The service is amazingly quick given how many people were ordering and the food was out in less than 15 minutes. Not only is the food clearly fresh and perfectly cooked, I think the prices are really reasonable given the size and quality of what you get. Would definitely recommend the chilli squid/calamari - never had anything like it before, absolutely delicious. Will be back for more food very soon!
Superb fish and chips in assuming location. Super fresh fish, melt in mouth calamari, crispy chips, lovely salad. We all loved it and it almost seemed healthy! Great service too.
Great food, timely service, fresh, never had a complain in last three years, best burgers for money in town. I'd recommend the chicken and fish burger.

My family and I often go to Blue Ocean for lunch on a Sunday. The service is great and the food is lovely, the food is usually served within 15 minutes of ordering!!
We normally get a serve of chips, calamari, crumbed fish and a side salad. My cousin got a steak burger (which was huuUUge!!) and we also got some potato scallops and a pineapple fritter.
Really yummy menu and lovely staff, definitely would suggest this restaurant if you're looking for a quick (or not) and delicious lunch!!
This is by far one of the best seafood establishments in Brisbane. Beautiful fish - we usually get the crumbed goldband snapper, cod or whiting. We also venture down the path of buying grilled octopus which is sensational as well. Blue Ocean is always packed at night, particularly on weekends which is a testament to the popularity of the shop. Would strongly recommend Blue Ocean to any fish and chip enthusiast, it's brilliant food.
Our local "chippy", walking distance from home and our go to when we want fresh delicious fish and chips.

Their grilled barramundi is insanely good and the chips!! Omg!!! I always eat too many!

Amazing. Everything about this place is amazing. Fish is fresh and well cooked. Steak burgers are mouth watering. Price us reasonable and atmosphere is wonderful for an "escape from the restaurant" type of feel. Wish more of the carpark could be used for dining.
Amazing food!!!. We have been to this place to get take away a few times now and each time it is nothing short of amazing! Today we tried the chicken burger and it is like no other chicken burger, but as everything else it was delicious. Highly recommend the place take all our friends there when they visit.
Very good. We tried this place last week and were very impressed. First, the service was amazing. Very friendly, polite and prompt. Great to see.
Secondly, all the food was top notch. The portion size of the chips wasn't great but they were thick cut and very well cooked so I'll let them get away with it haha.
The calamari rings were so fresh as well. It was a very good first experience over all. I would recommend to people in that area.

Totally love this place. It's about a 15min drive from my house but totally worth it. Also sometimes hard to get a carpark but also worth it. In my many time of visiting quality has always been top notch and tasty.
Have never dine-in only take-away but still love. Service is welcoming and friendly, has a wide menu of fish, meals and burgers. Chips are the best!!
Have introduced heaps of people to this place.

AMAZING food, not so great service.. Went here twice recently in the last couple of weeks - the first time it was getting a little late (about 9pm) so I called ahead to check if I could still order. The girl on the phone was so unbelievably rude and made me feel stupid for not knowing what was on the menu (I'd never been there before and was reading the menu photo on urbanspoon). Still, we'd read great things about the burgers so we got a hamburger combo with macon and cheese & a vege burger. We got to the store and went to pay and I figured it was the same girl who I spoke to on the phone was again rude, ignored the fact we were waiting to get our food & pay. It wasn't until who must be the owner saw the looks on mine and my partners face as we were waiting for our food, when we finally had this wonderful service so many others have posted about. He was absolutely lovely, talkative and made sure we had a copy of the new menu, and a bag to carry our food (which the girl had just dumped on the counter and expected us to carry).
However, when we got home to eat the food - THE BEST BURGERS I have ever eaten, they were huge, and full of fresh salads and absolutely delicious.
The second time, the service wasn't great again (same girl) but better than the first time but once again the burgers were amazing!
Well worth the money (which is practically nothing) as long as you don't get the young girl who served me!
Best in Brisbane. The product is outstanding and the service totally friendly and professional - well worth the wait on a busy night. If ordering take-away I would suggest phoning through your order, but it's all good because they always give you an accurate estimate of when your food will be ready to pick up.
I am really fussy when it comes to fish & chips and this restaurant ticks ALL the boxes. Keep up the good work guys and many thanks!
Grilled calamari was delicious tender non-greasy fish 'n' chips option. While my partner enjoyed the more usual crumbed fish affair! Will definitely return.
Great fish and chips! They offer an extensive menu with all of the regular fish and chip shop offerings and more. There is also a selection of reasonably priced fresh seafood. They also boast a very friendly staff.
Wow ... better than ever!. Long been a local favourite, amongst the best seafood going around ... recently sold and yet somehow the bar has been raised even higher. Superb food, fish always spot on - grilled to perfection, chips and salad also now somehow better than before. And service now (even more) friendly than before.
Good food and friendly service. We had dinner here tonight based on the previous reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint. The seafood was fresh, big portions, reasonable prices and very friendly staff.
Sensational. Absurdly good value for money. You can taste how fresh the fish is. Quick, friendly service and just a really nice warm laid back vibe. I've been a regular here since 2006, East Brisbane's best.

LOVE IT!!!. Have always been impressed with blue ocean seafood, however after the new owners have come, the food tastes even fresher and more tastier. I used to go about twice a month, but not you see me twice a week!! love the new atmosphere the new owners have created. To top it off, the lovely owners are so friendly and make it a blast each time I come.
SEAFOOD HEAVEN!. Discovered this place the other day and was surprised by the prices for such great quality seafood! My partner and I ordered grilled barramundi, prawns, greek salad and potato scallops! The seafood was cooked to perfection and the potato scallops were the best I've ever had. What makes this seafood jewel even better were the lovely owners and friendly staff.
I am staying in forestlake but to have awesome fish n chips i made a perfect choice by going to Blue Ocean Seafood . New management is great n execellent food n service , i would recommend you guys out there to give it a go and u wont be disappointed
We had the fishermans basket for 2. It was great I think it would feed 3 to 4 though there were over 6 pieces of fish not the large pieces but definitely a large meal! Would recommend. The cooking time was speedy and it was a Saturday night!
I'm addicted!. Blue Ocean seafood has always been a winner for me. Not just the food and prices, but mainly the owners and staff. They are always friendly, helpful and pleased to see me.
I work a few suburbs away, but would drive past 10 different fish and chip shops to get lunch for myself and my staff on occasion.
I've heard they are selling and new owners are moving in... I wish the old owners all the best and hope the new ones can live up to the standards already set!

Tasty & affordable seafood. Love it. A great place for your Fish & Chips takeaway with very low prices. Would never dine in as eating area is out onto the carpark. Seafood packs are great value, and fish/calamari/prawns are always fresh, well cooked and tasty. Friday nights can be busy, so be prepared to wait some time for your order, but it is definitely well worth the wait.
Great chips and potato scollaps. The fish was cooked to perfection. We had grilled salmon and battered snapper. We will be back.

This fish and chips shop doesn't look like much but I had a wonderful meal. You can select your fish and how you like it cooked. The menu also includes burgers and steak rolls. I ordered the sea perch battered and it came without any grease and was fresh and delicious. This place is busy so patience is needed at times.
Took the wife there to get Gluten free fish and chips. Yes they do gluten free battered fish. The wife loved it. My fish and chips was very good as well
Very good quality fish and chips! I’m sure that if you come here you won’t be disappointed with the food quality. The fish and chip pack for two is an excellent size without being ridiculous. Certainly one of the better fish and chips places in Brisbane. 4 stars because the customer service can be awkward at times but it shouldn't put you off.

Good value for money, went for dinner with a group of 7 friends, owner is amazing, friendly & accommodative. Plates & silver cutlery available for dining on premises, outdoor seating only, mostly carpark seating, limited covered seating, great ambience. Wonderful crumbed option, fish cut into pieces to allow extra crumbing 👌. Dishes with salad have very good portions of salad. Chips weren't impressive. Table water available. Condiments are extra $. Parking: is limited on site.
Amazing Halal Seafood for Iftari and Sehri. Very tasty ,affordable food and generous serving sizes. The lady at the front was very helpful and pleasant with excellent customer service.
