Delicious salmon aburi and a great layout. This place was great to dine in and the food came out super fast.
Love the food here! It’s that one reliable restaurant I’ll always keep coming back to. (I recommend trying the chicken karaage)
Stopped by for takeaway sushi. This time of the year they have a promo during lunch from 12 to 2 pm. All sushi for 2.50AUD a very good value for good yummy sushi. Loved the spicy salmon and a few other things. All made fresh and don't forget to add wasabi and ginger for an extra hear.
This place is surprisingly good for a mass produced sushi roll joint. Fresh sushi for lunch and the hot lunch specials are better. The salmon teriyaki is saucy and freshly made, and the pork tonkatsu is crispy fried well. Nice little surprise in a hole in the wall place. Very convenient location and good prices.
Definitely on of the better sushi roll places that side of the city.
Visited this restaurant via Entertainment book offer. Had three boxes of sashimi ($10 for 6 pieces of Tuna & $10 for 8 pieces of salmon)....the pieces are thick....so if you are having it alone with one box that should be enough plus they offer free miso soup when you purchased...they got a sign for it but i guess you will have to ask for it.
If you're looking for a decent sushi place closer to the casino end of George street, this is the place for you. While the owners don't appear to be Japanese, the sushi is 100% decent and well made. On my first visit to my sushi on George, I had the pleasure of having the lunch special (as they have everyday) of curry pork tonkatsu. The tonkatsu was freshly made, well crumbed and superrrr crunchy! There was a nice twist with the sauce being a bit sweet and the lovely addition of sesame seeds. It was a nice little Japanese experience with a Chinese twist. Will definitely go back for lunch 😊
My Sushi on George - Brisbane CBD. It is but a simple hole in the wall. The design of the place is really simple, therefore it would be easy to walk by. There are some hidden depths to this place. While you go up to the counter to order, the meals actually are taken to your table; the look and aesthetic of this place would suggest otherwise. For a cheap and familar eat - as well as quick - there are no real substantial faults.
The menu provides a number of quick options, mostly focusing on Japanese dishes. It's main focus is sushi even doing platters and having a wide selection to marvel at and choose from. Having not sampled the sushi, I cannot attest for how it is. There are options not on the menu board outside, but posted around the walls inside. One that took my fancy was sort-of fusion dish - which I ultimately ordered - sweet & sour pork karage.
It is all freshly prepared. You can easily see the wok in the kitchen. Frequently, new bits of sushi are being put into the display case and moved around. Though it appears less well-known than the surrounding eateries, I still noticed a fair few people coming in and out.
The sweet & sour pork was pretty good. It came with a side of what appeared to be coleslaw. There was a generous amount of crispy battering around the bits of karage that almost reminded me of crackling in a number of ways; I would not be surprised if there was some of that on it. Along with the pork karage, there was several big bits of fruit - capsicum and pineapple throughout it mounded on an upmost generous serving of steamed rice. All up it is well-proportioned and filling.
This is one such place that you know full well what you are going to get when going into it. The food is fresh and wholesome, thus for a quick meal on the go (i.e. solitary) it is fantastic.
Great tasting sushi with a wide variety that is easy to take away or just eat in. Service was fairly stumpy and short but likely a culture or personality deal. Was a great option for lunch and had gluten free options also.
I have been popping in here now for over 3 years and always had a decent feed. I've settled on the fish Japanese Curry, which is great. I've only ever had excellent customer service and never observed the owner being rude. I have, however seen several customers come in with attitudes and rudeness! Ironic eh. Worth a look in.
Amazing fresh and tasty Japanese fish curry. Very friendly owner. Clean and tidy little cafe. We will always come here when we visit Brisbane.
Been a fav since I moved to Bris in 2013. Salmon teriyaki is a winner and I am so happy to report it’s still as amazing (I had my first in about 2 years just a week or two ago) ❤️ your work my sushi! 100% recommend.
Was surprised they do Mini Hot Pot, actually it's quite nice!
