Love this little place! Always busy as it’s right near the hospital. Only improvement would be if they had WiFi! All cafes should have wifi I believe, makes study far easier and would mean I would sit and have another couple more coffees! Win win!
Drove to O'Connell Street of Bowen Hills and tried to explore the Project 41 Café. Unfortunately, the carpark was full and I had to find the off street parking. Eventually, I managed to get a parking spot but there must be clearway from 7 to 9 am. It was 6:45am, therefore I pushed my luck to go just across the road of this eye-catching café. Service was very friendly and I ordered my flat white and just a croissant with ham & cheese. By the time I asked the staff if I could parked the car across the road. I saw a car drove very quickly in order to approach my car and I discovered that it was an officer from the City Council who tried to book me a ticket. So I rushed to go across the road and moved my car before she took any action. Fortunately, I saved to pay for a very dear brekkie but I had no mood to enjoy my food any more. Sorry to the two friendly staff who prepared the coffee and croissant for me. Having said that , the Flat white of Fonzie Abbott brew that I had was excellent.
Herston/the area surrounding RBWH is basically a food wasteland, so Flick N Beans is a nice little spot for some good quality food. I go to this place at least once a week and always leave satisfied.
Menu is small but they have a good range (not too many vegetarian or vegan options though). Tried a few items here and loved everything. Portions are good for the price and everything is fresh and delicious. My favourite is the "Moroccan Spicy Chicken". Not very spicy, but it consists of a generous serving of nicely seasoned grilled chicken breast, grilled haloumi, sliced avocado, arugula, large slice of toasted sourdough and a wedge of lemon. Filling, healthy and very tasty!
Coffee here is average (I've had better). They also have a nice variety of sandwiches and rolls, pastries, muffins and brownies in the display cabinet next to the counter.
All the staff here are very friendly so that's a plus!
A couple of minor things: they should play more upbeat music! And it would be awesome if they could stay open a bit later than 3pm (there a no good cafes in the area so a place that stays open past 3 would be very welcome).
Overall, a cute coffee shop with good eats! 4.5 / 5 :)
If your looking for great coffee near Brisbane hospital then this is the place. Their brunch menu isn't too bad either - the salmon stack came with two poached eggs, which weren't as runny as I like, and heaps of avocado. Great way to start the day
Best coffee in RBWH area. One of my coworkers introduced me to this place, and he wasn't wrong. The coffee is the best I've had in the RBWH area, and the breakfast wrap is very delicious. While the coffee is a bit expensive compared to the local competition, it is worth the extra. And the breakfast wrap is very reasonable in price.
Fantastic, friendly staff. .... Fantastic, friendly staff.
Great coffee and delicious food.
Very affordable.
Favourites are the avo on toast, cheeseburger and fries and the chicken, pumpkin and feta salad
Great coffee Courteous and .... Great coffee
Courteous and friendly staff
Tuesday mornings call for a good coffee before sessions at the hospital, so I took this as the perfect opportunity to try out Flick N Beans, a fairly new coffee hub located down the street from the Royal Brisbane in Bowen Hills. The ambience of this tire-shop inspired (not sure if it really is, but it looks like it!) orange themed cafe is refreshing, as most places now take after the kitchy-cute hipster-y cafe. Kaleb and Tim, the guys behind Flick N Beans, are friendly and whipped up our coffees fairly quickly. I had a skinny latte, the usual, which was moderately aromatic, not acidic, and not too dark. I find that a lot of Brisbane cafes whip up really dark roasts...
Awesome little cafe. Friendly staff, cool environment, best coffee I've had in the city.
Awesome little spot. Good food and great coffee.
I remember discovering Flick N Beans with a girlfriend during a lunch break and I'd argue that anybody who speaks negatively of Flick N Beans has some reason to be dishonest. It's a charming venue, with food and coffee that is quite delicious. If you're reading this and you haven't tried it yet, perhaps today is the day for your first Flick N Beans experience?
Great coffee and pear/raspberry bread. Need to fix mold growing on ceiling though. Staff are friendly.
Best coffee in Brisbane. Was staying near by as visiting hospital and found this place. I drink a not so common coffee due to allergies and these guys nailed it every time. Will be back soon for 6 weeks and this will definitely be my go to coffee shop. Thsnks for being so awesome. Do yourself a favour and check this place out 🙂
It’s a nice location, and offers outside sitting. The food is way better than anything you can get from the hospital, would recommend the chicken meal as comes with a healthy portion and chicken has a nice marinade. The halloumi that comes with the meal is delicious

The food is great, the coffee is to die for. And the atmosphere overlooking Bowen Park and RNA showgrounds tops it off
Good coffee, quick service, want to busy. Definitely on a loud street though.
