Wow, finally a restaurant that makes affordable delicious healthy food! I tried finding cheap eats in Brisbane and basically all leads came to dead ends except for this one. And it hasn't stood the test of time for no good reason. I'll be back.
I love this little place! I try to make time to stop in there when I head out to the movies at Graceville or Indooroopilly as it is totally worth that bit of extra effort.
I have to admit to only ever having had their Indian Feast for $13 which gives you rice, curry, salad, kofta balls, papadum, choice of drink (normally a lassi or a mint-ginger-lemon concoction and a choice of dessert (halva or berry crumble, both with optional custard). There are lots of other options if you don't want the feast. There are curries, lasagna, filo parcels, and kofta balls all in the hot case and you can order from a number of other things from the blackboard menu.
It's a very friendly and welcoming place but very small and with the limited number of hours they are open you may need to plan a little ahead to make sure you don't arrive after they close of an evening. They seem to do more takeaway than dine-ins but I often find myself sharing the restaurant with families, couples and singles.
Yum :). Always yummy!
My favourite menu items are the Lasagne, Lemon Ginger & Mint drink and the Honey Cake.
Love!. I always come away from Gopal's with a smile on my face. Perfect, crunchy kofta, fresh, healthy vegetable curry. And it's cheap!
Nice and healthy. Similar to the Krishna cafe meals, mild vegetable curry with kofta balls, rice and desert for $12 that is a nice filling meal that leaves you feeling healthy and satisfied. The ginger lime drink is awesome.
Good food everytime. Well priced. Easy parking.
Great Food, Great Value. We had a livingsocial voucher for dinner for two here. The food was excellent! Tasty, fresh, light and a massive portion. Look forward to making it a regular mid-week feast!
I loved the lasagna. Very tasty.
Family Favourite. Our family regularly goes to Gopals after the markets on a Wednesday night. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. After a big day it is brilliant to drop in and have a tasty filling meal and not shudder at the cost.
Hands down the best vege restaurant around and I am a big meat eater, so cheap for what you get! One large serving with 2 curries and rice, a big samosa and a small halva with custard and a small drink just $15!!! You must try the ginger and mint drink, it is unreal!
Love it! Love it! Be back again!
AMAZING!. Where to start... While the range of food here is small, it's diverse compared to other Krishna restaurants. On offer is the staple Kofta balls and curry dishes, as well as Malaysian noodles, a delicious curry potato bake and a yummy lasagne! Asides from being 100% vegetarian (a rare find), the other drawcard here is the price. I think I could go as far as saying this is one of the best value for money takeaway places I've been to in Brisbane. I've been here numerous times and am still blown away with how cheap the food here is! It's definitely no frills and probably not for everyone, but it certainly fills a gap in the vegetarian restaurant scene and is a great cheap cafe.
The food here is fantastic! A big plate satisfied two hungry diners and the halva was the best!
