Review Andavanth - Brisbane

Top notch service! Wonderful dining atmosphere at the back (feels quite Mediterranean!). Coffee was great, yiros was delicious too.

Consistently average. I have been here several times for coffee and eaten food from the display cabinet, but not off the menu. The coffee is ok, but the food is really average quality. The service can be a bit hit and miss depending who's on. And the prices are definitely above average for what you get. It's close to work when I need a quick snack, which is the only reason I go back.

I would like to give less than one star to the lady with the straight black hair behind the counter. She was rude, rolled her eyes at me and had a lot of attitude when I gave my order, I proceeded to walk out without ordering anything. Our office is just around the corner and I can assure that I will not be returning - Andavanth clearly does not value returning customers.

This cafe has a lovely vibe - although it's in the middle of Milton, it's very quiet and the courtyard seating area has a nice Mediterranean feel about it. The food was good, but not remarkable and I thought my caesar salad (cos lettuce and toasted Turkish bread, topped with one rasher of bacon and poached egg) was a little bit overpriced at $17.

I visit Andavanth quite frequently (once or twice a week) for coffee and a bite as its close to where I live and dropped in for breakkie today. As I have started a low carb diet, I requested politely if they could swap the bread for something else. Anything. All other cafes that I visit, have been supportive of such a request and immediately suggest alternatives. So I was a bit taken aback to get this response from Andavanth “to put bread on your plate costs us only 35 cents so all we can do is remove it”. Now, I do accept the cafe’s right to take this position and say that to me, but equally it was quite off putting for me to hear that blunt response and I will be taking my business elsewhere to other businesses who are accomodating and customer friendly. Thank you.

Terrible !...I ordered Greek salad with avocado and turkish bread...was served brown rotten avocado !! & white bread bun ! The owner was very rude when I complained and said all his customers eat avocado that look like that!! Geezzz...how could they serve it!!!

I asked for a Caesar salad without bacon. I was served a plate of lettuce with a sprinkle of cheese and charged $17. If it was discounted accordingly and the lettuce wasn't yellow, I might not have worried too much.

Lovely coffee but wait times are ridiculous! I call to order my coffee in the mornings & still wait a good 10-15mins when I get there.

Five for ambience and a truly beautiful building in an industrial area albeit a sophisticated precinct. The food is nothing to rave about but the setting is unusual and provincial. Make up your own mind.

Today I woke up late and thinking about breakfast I remembered DianaW had recently visited this coffee shop which I haven't heard of before and since it's not far from my house I decided to give it a try.

I ordered a dirty chai latte and I firstly tried to order the dill potato cakes which were unfortunately sold out so I decided to venture myself on their cabinet and settled up for a white chocolate, cranberry and pistachio slice and also a carrot cake.

The dirty chai on soy was nice and creamy with a good coffee flavour and not too sweet but could have been stronger on the chai bit of it, would rate it a 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

The white chocolate, cranberry and pistachio slice, was a bit hard to cut through with a fork but tasting it there was a nice texture from the pieces of white chocolate, cranberry and pistachio and was actually moist. My only problem is that it was too sweet, I couldn't barely finish half of it. Disregarding its sweetness I would rate it a 4 but for my preferences it scores a 3 out of 5.

The carrot cake was a bit on the dry side, and the frosting on top was a bit too thick in some places but overall was an enjoyable cake, had it been moister and with some more nuts to it i would have scored it a 4 out of 5, but today it gets a 3.5.

Overall it's a nice place for a coffee, the staff is friendly and I would be back to try their lunch menu perhaps.

Have been to Milton on a regular basis & this is the first time I had noticed this café. They serve Merlo so I knew I would be pretty safe to give it a try. The service was rather slow, but very obliging & polite, when the flat white eventually arrived it was in a take away cup & I had ordered it to have there. They quickly changed it for me & I was happy with the eventual result

Service from barista / counter girl was terrible and took more than 20 minutes to toast a sandwich. When I began to ask where it was (as I was in a hurry and thought a sandwich wouldn't take long), she cut me off and said "it's coming, take a seat".

Ok how have I never been here. We were starving for late brunch, I've passed this place a million and one times and something compelled me to u-turn and after checking the menu online, saw dill potato cakes and walked in. So glad we did.

They weren't on the Saturday brunch menu however the owner happily made them for me no worries- that was so nice. The dill potato cakes came with salmon, poaches eggs and sour cream. I ordered a side of hollandaise and mushrooms. It was so delicious!!

House made hollandaise- everything was so good. The potato cakes weren't overly dilly and a great alternative to bread, eggs well poached and the sour cream was a good side. Partner loved his eggs benny which came on Turkish.

Coffee was merlo and pretty decently made. I had a Noah's juice. Can't wait to come back for their cocktails- all $10!

Nice coffee shop and good food.

I've been to Andavanth on several occasions, though usually for tea or coffee. Today I enjoyed a wonderful Grilled Chicken and Bacon Burger. It was delicious and the chips were really nice. My colleague enjoyed the Crispy Skinned Salmon. A friend who is a regular highly recommends the Vegetarian Halloumi Stack.

A bit rich. My latest experience was really disappointing as when I ate lunch at the cafe it was delicious and reasonably priced for what you got, however the other day I ordered take away turkish toast with butter and vegemite which cost me $6, which I thought was a bit expensive but hey there are not many other options near my office.
What I thought was a bit rich was that I was given turkish toast plus 2 small butter sachets and 2 vegemite sachets with a plastic knife. I have no issue doing my own butter and vegemite but I don't feel $6 is justifiable when I am doing DIY to get to a final edible product. I think I will take my $6 buy my own bread, butter and vegemite that would last me more than one meal.

Great atmosphere and coffee. Excellent ambiance in the Tuscan style. Stopped in for a quick latte and lemon tart. Impressive and attentive service, great Merlo coffee and nice selection of food. Will be back!

You should visit for the beautiful courtyard out back ;-). We were looking for a coffee fix Saturday morning and decided to drop into Andavanth. I am so glad we did. The service was quick and friendly. The food wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. They serve merlo coffee. *thumbs up for the beautiful scenery and courtyard at the back, it was nice.

My favourite coffee shop. I LOVE Andavanth. Billie makes the best coffee I've had (and my life is punctuated by coffee!). Andavanth is my home away from home - great bfast, yummy lunch. And great prices

Thumbs down.. Cute café with terrible service, they didn't even seem interested in serving myself or the guy in front of me after 5 minutes wait so I left. Maybe employ adequate staff rather than children.

Andavanth also caters for those looking for a little more than coffee – they have a breakfast and lunch menu which includes a selection of fresh and light Greek inspired flavours.
