It is always my rule of thumb to go to the original roaster cafe in order to explore the taste of a particular brew. This morning is the turn for the Bear Bones coffee. In fact, I had this brew in other cafe before and it was impressive so the par was set high. Walked in about 7:10am, nearly all the tables were occupied (they only have four tables). Approached the counter, my gaze was caught by those food in the display cabinet. Never had a Green Egg & Ham Brekkie Wrap so gave it a go and definitely a cup of flat white as well. Well, the wrap came first and it looked great. Taste was good, particularly the moisture from the spinach and tomatoes really neutralize the dryness of the bread. Portions of egg and ham were appropriated. Then, I had my first zip of coffee, which ticked all the boxes. The conclusion is that it is again a wise decision to try out where the coffee is roasted. It always is a guarantee.
Love this cafe!
The coffee is always consistent, and the beans are to my taste; smooth and nutty.
We love visiting and it's great to be able to drop in and park quickly on our way to work.
Great little coffee spot in The Valley. Really nice coffee and having the roaster at the back you can tell they know what they're doing. Cool and funky atmosphere and they've got nitrogen coffee too! Very friendly staff and the food is pretty good too. Had the blueberry bagel with cottage cheese and honey. The bagel could have been toasted for longer and it didn't really have much of a blueberry flavor. The avocado toast was ok but nothing special.
I find the taste of their coffee weaker than most places. It is normally very milky that I would ask for double shots which would cost me the same as single from Reverends up the road anyway. The latest blend we had here, Goldilocks, tasted slightly stronger than what we usually got and was actually quite nice.
They also roast their own coffee beans and judging from the size of the roaster, they must be selling them to places as well. If you haven't reached your daily caffeine goal after Reverends and The Coffee Doctor, try double shot flat white here.
Nice coffee. Coffee 8/10 Iced latte - Milky yet there was a nice strong coffee taste. It was served really chilled and the ice didn't melt quickly :)
Ambience 9/10 Rather hippy energetic vibe
Service 10/10 Attentive and friendly staff
Remark: Saturday arvo visit; non-peak period.
Colorful graffiti sets the ambience of this modern industrial cafe that is set out to roast their own coffee beans. Since my visit about a month ago, they may have very well started to already! Deciding on the avo toast and the pulled pork sandwich between me and my friend...
Heading towards Bear Bones Espresso in Fortitude Valley it was a serious case of déjà vu … their sandwich board was in the exact position where Commodity Cafe once stood. One roller door down provided one more Brisbane coffee experience. The light industrial environment was right up our alley, which is the feel you get as you walk past the spray painted artwork and black walls. At the end of the ‘alley’ is a vast expanse where the green beans and Probat roaster lie in wait. Bear Bones roast their own House blend which is a pretty even mix of Kenyan, Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Costa Rican beans. It’s early days and Kurtis said, ‘we’re still tweaking it a bit and we have plans for single origins and specialty coffees in the future.’ When we asked for a shlong, one brekky diner nearly dropped her avocado smash on toast when she heard the order. ‘Is that the same as a long black, low tide? I just want to make sure we’re talking the same language’, Kurtis inquired...
Stumbled across this cafe accidentally and wasn’t I impressed. Staff were awesome and welcoming. Had their batch and a piccolo. Our experience was pleasing. Plenty of parking, coffee bar setup is modern. Would recommend to come down for a coffee and a friendly chat with their staff. Thanks team.
V60 No bad, it is a good environment for people have a cup of coffee here.they got enough space.
Aside from a very good coffee. Very good service. I bought a coffee and ask them to grind it for me. Upon returning home the coffee was too coarse for my machine. Went there the next day and just bring my coffee. They immediately replaced it without asking any question. Great coffee, superb service & good business etiquette.
Stumbled onto this gorgeous coffee house with wonderful staff, coffe and goodies (gf too!) Quiet and lovely place to stop and enjoy a cuppa 💕
Beside great coffee and friendly baristas, like their coffee machines!
Came early in the morning for a coffee and was really impressed by their batch brew! Constant crowds moving through, seems like a lot of people have the right idea! Friendly staff and great coffee to set you up for a great day!
Ordered beans by mistake after wife also ordered beans. Extra order cancelled and refund given cheerily.
Beans also excellent but customer service deserves a bit of praise too.
